I'll give Feeble Lord's Frenzied Flame this: It will make you cry in PvP. The madness build up on those projectiles is so absurd that you can reliably win fights with the torch alone. The thing had its status NERFED because it was that good. A torch managing to earn a nerf says a lot if you ask me.
Speaking of Needle Piercer... Don't take Leda with you into the Rellana fight if you're using any sort of status-effects, because Leda really, _really_ likes to use Needle Piercer. Frequently. And because of it removes _all_ status effects on hit, it'll remove the statuses _you_ set. Including effects that aren't build-statuses, such as the Magic-damage vulnerability effect of Renalla's and Ranni's Full Moons, ongoing damage from Black Flame and Detined Death, and Destined Death's max-health cut. This made summoning Leda actively _counterproductive_ in my first SOTE playthrough, because my Sorcerer character's preferred opener in boss-fights is Ranni's Full Moon, in order to increase his damage output, and I was using Black Knife Tiche.
This makes so much sense, I had no idea what was going on with my poison from my venomous fangs, I just assumed Rellana was super resistant and purged it herself or something haha~
Wing stance is my favourite simply because it’s fun to use. It has options, it has good flow, it doesn’t devalue the base moveset and it just looks cool

It feels so unique among ER weapons. Also it helps that on a keen infusion 80 dex character with Rellana’s Cameo and shard of Alexander, it absolutely shreds anything and everything with the ash
Want to have some fun? Carian sovereignty does 120 stance dmg when you use the stone barbed cracked tear in your physick and land both fully charged hits. Slap it on a greatsword and you have yourself enough hyperarmor to land both hits on most enemies, even bosses. I was able to COMPLETELY staggerlock dts with it because he stares at you for 5 seconds before attacking, which is just enough time to fully charge the attack

Even its light variation with the buff is excellent and keeps it as long you hold and keep attacking. So, for certain bosses and mobs, you can blender delete them and / or finish off with a heavy with one stance charge from the Cameo talisman.
Not to be nitpicky, but lightning is not roughly the same speed of light itself. Now lightning speed varies and it can reach certain fractions of the speed of light seen almost nowhere else, but light itself is still far faster

Honestly, the best Fire Knight repellant is the Smithscript Shield. It does just enough poise damage to stagger them with every single hit, and staggers just long enough to throw it again. Just throw until they die or take a knee, they can't stop you. It's hilarious, to the point where I've taken to calling it the Disc of Disrespect. If I don't fuckin feel like fighting you? You're getting the Disc. You're getting nothing _but_ the Disc, and you will take it until you can't take anymore.
Hey, Rusty! I just wanted to mention that, for little of a use case it has, Happiness Blindfold does have a purpose, mainly in the DLC itself. The skill can be used against the Basilisk Statues in the DLC's catacombs to prevent death blight build-up. And, since this lantern doesn't really need any stat investments like the unseen skills, this is a way for any build to get through that area with little trouble. Yeah... that's about *all* it's good for, so I wouldn't rank it anywhere higher. =p

No shot enemies like the death bird or fire knights have stamina right. I’ve seen the fire knight cast fireballs with literally 0 opening for 40 seconds straight
@@trainman5675 Bosses not having stamina or essentially having infinite stamina would make sense, just wouldn't be right if a boss started a 5 hit combo and then stopped half way because they ran out of stamina. It could even be that some attacks don't use stamina at all and bosses have a full moveset of those kind of moves.
@@dudeiii2069 It could be that some attacks don't use stamina or stamina regens during some attack animations (think pre-nerfed crouch spam sprinting/wave dashing). It would make sense to have the fireballs use no stamina if FromSoft wanted to make sure they always have something to punish heals to make them seem more aggressive.

I truly love leda's blade for pvp because it's so much more FP efficient than Law of Regression, while still purging buffstackers and making them look like a jackass who just spent 80% of their FP on buffs. I've seen a lot of opponents whose build relies on their physic flask just alt-f4 as soon as they see I have Leda's blade equipped.
I don't think there's anything more rage inducing in these tier lists than Rusty referring to What We Do in the Shadows as "that one shitty Netflix comedy"
I like having Carian Sovereignty on the Lordsworn Greatsword. It's 110 crit is excellent to take advantage of the fact that my opponent is now missing a vital knee or two
I mean, you can get the Falx almost as soon as you neter the DLC. Just rush to Shadow Keep and set Leda on the Hornsent. If you side with her and kill him you get them.
Something funny that I've noticed is that Flame Skewer can actually outdamage Flame Spear. Due to the followup being pure fire damage on Flame Skewer, if you put it on a Flame Art FKGS with stuff like the Fire Scorpions Charm, Shard of Alexander and the Flame Shrouding Cracked Tear, it actually does more than a fully charged Flame Spear with the Godfrey Icon. (I may be wrong on this, but every time i tested it, that was the case)
Fan Shot is super useful for a bow character, it hits a really nice niche where it does more damage, isn't too slow, doesn't require being close/covers a wide area incase targets move and maybe most importantly, is an ash of war so you can buff it with talismans lol, no other standard bow ash does anything useful in a boss fight so it actually fills a very valueable role, doubly so since it comes on the straight up best bow in the game
Ok important detail about eternal sleep you didn't see On normal sleep the stagger is different than eternal sleep, because you can accidentally "wake" them up before the animation begins completely negating the effects of sleep, but that can't happen on eternal sleep, effectively Normal sleep you have to be more careful with and utilize a crit tool like a dagger, while eternal sleep you can br significantly more aggressive with because they won't be interrupted.... Also things that are fully susceptible to Eternal sleep, wont wake up meaning you could just kill it.... The exception is bosses, because they will have an uninteruptable sleep for little bit, then it will turn into the normal sleep they can wake up to
Nerd speak here, the speed of lightning is sorted in two speeds. The speed of the way down is a lot slower, but the rapid crackle going back up (the actual "light"ning) is about a third of lightspeed at its fastest intervals. Lightspeed is insane.
Bloodfiend's Bloodboon is my vote for the worst Ash of War in the DLC: We already got Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, its called, Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, and guess what, if you are in the DLC, you already have easy access to Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, as you needed to kill MOHG!
Also with Onze's Line of Stars, the second combo activation lets you move horizontally quite a bit so you can maneuver behind/around medium to large enemies. Especially helpful with the larger enemies as you can evade their frontal attacks (unless they swing around like a semi-truck to bash your face in)
If I had a dollar for every time they took a somber weapon skill and turned it into a shittier version of itself, I would have at least several dollars.
No way you put blinkbolt that far down. You sleepin. Im weepin. If you know the boss, or the attack coming in pvp, Its literally full counter. The I frames are awesome + its like a neutral attack version of bloodhounds, so a weapon like pair straight swords wreck havoc
Rusty its been 2 weeks. Your poor reception towards blink haunts me still. Blinkbolt has a lot more going for it than you first thought, just has a higher skill floor than other ashes. Being able to teleport 2m forward near instantly & have I-frames, is one of the greatest things ever brought to souls. I will die on this hill Seriously, you saw poison spear hand and said, yup, 28 spots higher than blink bolt?!?!
The point of Fan Shot is burst damage. It does more damage more quickly than any other bow skill. I'd say it's the only bow skill that is genuinely powerful, even if it does consume 8 arrows, which is something you shouldn't be worrying about anyway since you're in the DLC and can farm enough Runes from the Mohgwyn Palace Albinaurics to max out every type of arrow you can buy from merchants in like 5 minutes.

As a status buildup stanley, I thought using TPFBT on Poison affinity Dryleaf Arts was the best option because the AoW being portrayed as a kick made me wrongly assume the ash only worked on fist weapons. Actually, putting firebreather on an axe was a stroke of genius from the devs as it made people more thankful for the actually cool ashes in the DLC, truly a mastermind play
Now now, Igon's drake hunt is actually useful as it gives hyper armor and if scream stuns opponent it true combos into them eating the arrow to the face. It's more pvp focused then anything (probably also the reason we can change the skill on igon great bow to then absolutely decimate dragon with a rain of harpoons)

Blinkbolt should be higher, very underrated. Both the step ashes allow you to evade & immediately do a roll or step attack, same thing with raptor of the mist & jump attacks. Blinkbolt fills that same role but with neutral/standing attacks, & unlike the unique versions there's next to no delay for *both* your left & right hand attacks. Would recommend it on the fire knight ugs more than anything. Basically becomes the dex version of the meteor ugs. What you trade for in raw damage from white light charge, you gain in i frames & even quicker follow up attacks Calling the meteor ugs an l2 stick is wild, the zwei poke doesnt mean much i guess lol
This video shows even more so that Rusty is only basing these lists off of PURE personal satisfaction and not how useful each thing is at all in PvE or PvP. Saying some numbers without mentioning anything else is just.. Dumb.
35:30 Seeing that weapon being thrown like a boomerang in the trailer totally convinced me we would be getting a whole Boomerang weapon class. I was a bit let down, but the Spinning Guillotine AoW was just too fun not to love it. Had the perfect build to use it right away, and like you said it really is a fucking stagger machine. Also, the Smithscript Backhand Blades R2's feel close enough to a Boomerang, so I'm happy with that as well lol
If I recall correctly, Needle Piercer AoW benefits from Spear Talisman, and the damage of each Needle inherits the flat damage buff from Last Rites buff.
I gotta say one thing i love about a lot of the somber weapons we got in the DLC is how many options we got covered for each build they didnt really have the easiest access to before, like Inquisitor spear as an easy bleed option for Faith builds, putrescence cleaver being the same for Frostbite on Arcane, sword and claws of night giving Magic damage options to pure Dex builds, Smithscript shield (and the weapons even though they aren't somber) for giving physical stat builds a ranged option that doesnt require ammunition. 1 thing i wish we couldve had if anything? At least 1 rot/rotten crystalian sorcery to go with the staff.

I'll give Feeble Lord's Frenzied Flame this: It will make you cry in PvP. The madness build up on those projectiles is so absurd that you can reliably win fights with the torch alone. The thing had its status NERFED because it was that good. A torch managing to earn a nerf says a lot if you ask me.

Don't take Leda with you into the Rellana fight if you're using any sort of status-effects, because Leda really, _really_ likes to use Needle Piercer. Frequently.
And because of it removes _all_ status effects on hit, it'll remove the statuses _you_ set.
Including effects that aren't build-statuses, such as the Magic-damage vulnerability effect of Renalla's and Ranni's Full Moons, ongoing damage from Black Flame and Detined Death, and Destined Death's max-health cut.
This made summoning Leda actively _counterproductive_ in my first SOTE playthrough, because my Sorcerer character's preferred opener in boss-fights is Ranni's Full Moon, in order to increase his damage output, and I was using Black Knife Tiche.
This makes so much sense, I had no idea what was going on with my poison from my venomous fangs, I just assumed Rellana was super resistant and purged it herself or something haha~
Wing stance is my favourite simply because it’s fun to use. It has options, it has good flow, it doesn’t devalue the base moveset and it just looks cool
The animations and flow of combat are gorgeous too.

It feels so unique among ER weapons. Also it helps that on a keen infusion 80 dex character with Rellana’s Cameo and shard of Alexander, it absolutely shreds anything and everything with the ash

Want to have some fun? Carian sovereignty does 120 stance dmg when you use the stone barbed cracked tear in your physick and land both fully charged hits.
Slap it on a greatsword and you have yourself enough hyperarmor to land both hits on most enemies, even bosses.
I was able to COMPLETELY staggerlock dts with it because he stares at you for 5 seconds before attacking, which is just enough time to fully charge the attack

now that Rellana's Cameo boosts damage by +45% Wing Stance heavy is looking insane.
Even its light variation with the buff is excellent and keeps it as long you hold and keep attacking. So, for certain bosses and mobs, you can blender delete them and / or finish off with a heavy with one stance charge from the Cameo talisman.
I was already pulling some crazy counter damage with the spear talisman and Alexander’s shard I can’t wait to give it another try
Not to be nitpicky, but lightning is not roughly the same speed of light itself.
Now lightning speed varies and it can reach certain fractions of the speed of light seen almost nowhere else, but light itself is still far faster

Honestly, the best Fire Knight repellant is the Smithscript Shield. It does just enough poise damage to stagger them with every single hit, and staggers just long enough to throw it again. Just throw until they die or take a knee, they can't stop you. It's hilarious, to the point where I've taken to calling it the Disc of Disrespect. If I don't fuckin feel like fighting you? You're getting the Disc. You're getting nothing _but_ the Disc, and you will take it until you can't take anymore.
I aspire to hate enemies this much.

Hey, Rusty! I just wanted to mention that, for little of a use case it has, Happiness Blindfold does have a purpose, mainly in the DLC itself. The skill can be used against the Basilisk Statues in the DLC's catacombs to prevent death blight build-up. And, since this lantern doesn't really need any stat investments like the unseen skills, this is a way for any build to get through that area with little trouble.
Yeah... that's about *all* it's good for, so I wouldn't rank it anywhere higher. =p

9:26 Enemies have stamina? I knew they had stamina for the purposes of guard breaking, but they also use it for attacks? Is that why they sometimes just stand around and do nothing in the middle of battle?
I mean that makes sense for the npc enemies...as well as some basic enemies..but i dont think bosses do...or if they do radahns stats are insane
No shot enemies like the death bird or fire knights have stamina right. I’ve seen the fire knight cast fireballs with literally 0 opening for 40 seconds straight
@@trainman5675 Bosses not having stamina or essentially having infinite stamina would make sense, just wouldn't be right if a boss started a 5 hit combo and then stopped half way because they ran out of stamina. It could even be that some attacks don't use stamina at all and bosses have a full moveset of those kind of moves.

@@dudeiii2069 It could be that some attacks don't use stamina or stamina regens during some attack animations (think pre-nerfed crouch spam sprinting/wave dashing). It would make sense to have the fireballs use no stamina if FromSoft wanted to make sure they always have something to punish heals to make them seem more aggressive.

I truly love leda's blade for pvp because it's so much more FP efficient than Law of Regression, while still purging buffstackers and making them look like a jackass who just spent 80% of their FP on buffs. I've seen a lot of opponents whose build relies on their physic flask just alt-f4 as soon as they see I have Leda's blade equipped.
I don't think there's anything more rage inducing in these tier lists than Rusty referring to What We Do in the Shadows as "that one shitty Netflix comedy"

Something funny that I've noticed is that Flame Skewer can actually outdamage Flame Spear. Due to the followup being pure fire damage on Flame Skewer, if you put it on a Flame Art FKGS with stuff like the Fire Scorpions Charm, Shard of Alexander and the Flame Shrouding Cracked Tear, it actually does more than a fully charged Flame Spear with the Godfrey Icon. (I may be wrong on this, but every time i tested it, that was the case)

Fan Shot is super useful for a bow character, it hits a really nice niche where it does more damage, isn't too slow, doesn't require being close/covers a wide area incase targets move and maybe most importantly, is an ash of war so you can buff it with talismans lol, no other standard bow ash does anything useful in a boss fight so it actually fills a very valueable role, doubly so since it comes on the straight up best bow in the game
I'd argue blindfold of happiness should go at 79. It gives unseen form to people without any int investment

Ok important detail about eternal sleep you didn't see
On normal sleep the stagger is different than eternal sleep, because you can accidentally "wake" them up before the animation begins completely negating the effects of sleep, but that can't happen on eternal sleep, effectively Normal sleep you have to be more careful with and utilize a crit tool like a dagger, while eternal sleep you can br significantly more aggressive with because they won't be interrupted.... Also things that are fully susceptible to Eternal sleep, wont wake up meaning you could just kill it.... The exception is bosses, because they will have an uninteruptable sleep for little bit, then it will turn into the normal sleep they can wake up to

Nerd speak here, the speed of lightning is sorted in two speeds. The speed of the way down is a lot slower, but the rapid crackle going back up (the actual "light"ning) is about a third of lightspeed at its fastest intervals. Lightspeed is insane.

We already got Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, its called, Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, and guess what, if you are in the DLC, you already have easy access to Mohgwyn's Sacred Spear, as you needed to kill MOHG!
Also with Onze's Line of Stars, the second combo activation lets you move horizontally quite a bit so you can maneuver behind/around medium to large enemies. Especially helpful with the larger enemies as you can evade their frontal attacks (unless they swing around like a semi-truck to bash your face in)

If you know the boss, or the attack coming in pvp, Its literally full counter. The I frames are awesome + its like a neutral attack version of bloodhounds, so a weapon like pair straight swords wreck havoc

Being able to teleport 2m forward near instantly & have I-frames, is one of the greatest things ever brought to souls. I will die on this hill

The point of Fan Shot is burst damage.
It does more damage more quickly than any other bow skill. I'd say it's the only bow skill that is genuinely powerful, even if it does consume 8 arrows, which is something you shouldn't be worrying about anyway since you're in the DLC and can farm enough Runes from the Mohgwyn Palace Albinaurics to max out every type of arrow you can buy from merchants in like 5 minutes.
Isn't the concern that you'll run out of arrows in the battle itself, not in general?

As a status buildup stanley, I thought using TPFBT on Poison affinity Dryleaf Arts was the best option because the AoW being portrayed as a kick made me wrongly assume the ash only worked on fist weapons. You have opened my eyes to new possibilities of being a piece of shit and I thank you for this knowledge.
Actually, putting firebreather on an axe was a stroke of genius from the devs as it made people more thankful for the actually cool ashes in the DLC, truly a mastermind play

Now now, Igon's drake hunt is actually useful as it gives hyper armor and if scream stuns opponent it true combos into them eating the arrow to the face. It's more pvp focused then anything (probably also the reason we can change the skill on igon great bow to then absolutely decimate dragon with a rain of harpoons)

Blinkbolt should be higher, very underrated. Both the step ashes allow you to evade & immediately do a roll or step attack, same thing with raptor of the mist & jump attacks. Blinkbolt fills that same role but with neutral/standing attacks, & unlike the unique versions there's next to no delay for *both* your left & right hand attacks. Would recommend it on the fire knight ugs more than anything. Basically becomes the dex version of the meteor ugs. What you trade for in raw damage from white light charge, you gain in i frames & even quicker follow up attacks
Calling the meteor ugs an l2 stick is wild, the zwei poke doesnt mean much i guess lol
9:00 Blinkbolt comes with a combo, if you heavy attack after the blink you get a fully charged heavy with added lightning dmg.
This video shows even more so that Rusty is only basing these lists off of PURE personal satisfaction and not how useful each thing is at all in PvE or PvP. Saying some numbers without mentioning anything else is just.. Dumb.
35:30 Seeing that weapon being thrown like a boomerang in the trailer totally convinced me we would be getting a whole Boomerang weapon class. I was a bit let down, but the Spinning Guillotine AoW was just too fun not to love it. Had the perfect build to use it right away, and like you said it really is a fucking stagger machine. Also, the Smithscript Backhand Blades R2's feel close enough to a Boomerang, so I'm happy with that as well lol
If I recall correctly, Needle Piercer AoW benefits from Spear Talisman, and the damage of each Needle inherits the flat damage buff from Last Rites buff.

I gotta say one thing i love about a lot of the somber weapons we got in the DLC is how many options we got covered for each build they didnt really have the easiest access to before, like Inquisitor spear as an easy bleed option for Faith builds, putrescence cleaver being the same for Frostbite on Arcane, sword and claws of night giving Magic damage options to pure Dex builds, Smithscript shield (and the weapons even though they aren't somber) for giving physical stat builds a ranged option that doesnt require ammunition.
1 thing i wish we couldve had if anything? At least 1 rot/rotten crystalian sorcery to go with the staff.
I slapped on carian sovereignty on the misericorde and it does excellent as an unexpected move in pvp and a good AOW when someone's getting up
