I think the fire wasn't removed from Morgott's intro animation to hide the blade's P2 effect but because the writers realized that Morgott wouldn't want to use any kind of fire magic so close to the Erdtree as fire is considered sinful by the golden order.

Yeah, I don't think he can control the blood flame though. It's part of the Omen curse. It would have made more sense if they lefted it in.

Vaati, I don't know if you noticed but Gostoc is examining the left arm of the dead body (the same arm he is missing) so it is likely he wants to graft himself a new arm.
The left arm is also the one Godrick replaces with the dragon head. Also the arm that gets the shinobi prosthetic in Sekiro.

@@paid14 Yeah it actually has color, unlike Dark Souls 3 which is very, very gray. Which I know befits the theme of ashes, but a lot of the areas are very... Meh looking because of the filter.
I think it might sound really cool if Ranni's voice was doubled, but only as a whisper and only on certain words. So it makes you think you heard a second voice from her, but you could also just mistake it for your own imagination.
Gostoc missing an arm is most likely a result of him being a thief. People used to be punished when they were caught stealing by having a hand or arm chopped off. Very fitting for Gostoc's character.
It makes way more since for it to just be that his arm was grafted onto someone else like Godrick. Godrick has like a dozen extra arms on him.

You can headcanon it if you want, but it's no more valid than thinking his arm was grafted because he touched himself or because godrick just liked that arm or because a lottery landed on him and that arm. The purpose of this channel is typically to look at the actual evidence in game to support claims, and there's nothing suggesting this specific claim so it's just one of thousands of equally random theories.

He has a missing arm and hates the guy who takes peoples arms, literally having his longest location and animation being him stepping on the head of someone who steals arms. That is not the same degree of valid to "in real life people would get their hands cut off when they were a thief"
the guy who originally said it said "hand or arm" but it is not arms, it was almost always just hands. So... your extreme confidence in putting someone in their place here is entirely unwarranted.
The love Radahn has for animals is kind of explained by the 'Beast Champion Armor' description. It read
"Beasts are drawn to champions, and to lords. And this armor befits a champion worthy of becoming a lord."
Radahn having lots of animal companions could be a nod to his worthiness.

Whether this is Canon or not, I like this theory.
It could also be a nod to his unusual Charisma.
Radahn's soldiers practically worshipped the ground he stood on, and even his rival demigods like Morgott had respect for him. It makes sense that even animals naturally liked him and wished to be around him, much like his redmane soldiers.

Wow...Morgott's body fading into the guidance of grace and pointing from Godfrey to the player is such an impactful detail that I absolutely did not realize in the moment. I wish I had.

it put into perspective. I just assumed that the guidance was the will of the erdtree, but now with Morgot body grace pointing toward us, how much of it is the will of the god, and does all the site of grace is the grave of someone like Morgot is.

@@jokerledger5400 That's actually hella interesting to think about. I like it. Do we control our fate? or is the will of the gods that ultimately decide? Either way, we straight up, "nah" the Greater Will lol. You also bring up an interesting point about the sites of grace. USually there is some explanation for littered bonfires or lamps, etc. but not much info on why there's sites of grace littered about everywhere.
Reminds me of when varre mentions that grace guides tarnished, and adds, in his own words, "even if it leads you to your own death."
Something interesting i just noticed about Renna's (Ranni's) appearance at the start of the game. She appears to fill the church with a sleeping mist, given it's color and the fact that Kale has his head bowed during her interaction. Given that she's a powerful magic user, I could see her being able to selectively apply the effects of her sleep spell so you aren't affected. Cool little detail about how she can keep her appearances outside her tower secret
Oh that is a very cool detail. I always thought Kalé is just asleep because it is nighttime.
Considering she can trap you in an illusionary world to fight a psychic imagining of her mother's fully glory that can still very much kill you... yeah, selectively targeted sleep magic doesn't seem like a stretch.

I really like Morgott's crumbling sword with no flames. It now looks like he's gripping it so hard that the stone falls away. This crushing grip is a much more visceral reminder of the amount of rage he had to bottle up for his entire life.
As well as signifying that he both isn't holding back against you anymore, AND that his physical strength js far greater than yours, being a Demigod Omen.
Honestly I liked the flame way more. It ties into the power hidden in Omen blood, and fits with the sword being MADE of blood

About two girls at the Stargazer ruins. By combining their names, you can actually find out, that they form a name for jellyfish species Aurelia Aurita (Moon Jellyfish). Pretty interesting detail, considering the form of girls' spirits
And considering they wish to see the stars together, Moon Jellyfish is quite the fitting name.
Stargazers ruins I think is near the place where Ranni met the Dark Moon as well. So despite them saying they wanted to see the 'stars' they probably actually wanted to see the Moon because they are Moon jellyfish.

I love the significance of the small detail of Godfrey's Guidance. He stopped seeing grace after he felled his last worthy adversary. The Greater Will Itself literally views the player as worthy at this point.
I was wondering, now that you mentioned the two jellyfish sisters and how they wish to see the stars, what if they were born after Radahn stopped the stars? Considering you almost certainly kill Radahn before getting to the reunion, you give them the opportunity to act upon their last wish as you have finally freed the stars from Radahns grasp.
You summon the jelly while fighting Astel, that's a star she won't forget hehe
A cool detail I haven’t seen anyone cover is Rykard’s eyes. In the cutscene where Rykard opens his eyes, you can see a red accent with the gold; implying that the Elder Serpent is vying for full control over Rykard, but doesn’t quite over come Rykard’s ambition and Grace. Then, when you defeat Rykard and his head is on the ground, the red is gone and only gold is left in his eyes. Really cool.
Weird catch lol
Another interesting thing about Rykard is that he is a super weird snake that speaks like Voldemort, showing that the player that beats him is actually Harry Potter. A cool Easter Egg for the recent and poorly optimised Hogwarts Legacy video game.

Could you maybe look into Rennala's egg? I have a crazy theory you may like. The cause of Rennala's obsession with the egg to me, is because it actually is Radagon. It's hard to find a place to start but I'll try. First is Miriel Pastor of vows, he says that a builder "glimpsed the skeleton in Radagons closet" and hid a message in the statue in leyndell. Radagon is Marika, which everyone interpreted as a rebus of some kind. I feel that it actually is that Marika only disguises herself as Radagon as the statue literally dispels an illusion of to reveal Marika. It is also hidden by a powerful incantation only usable by those who deeply invest in the golden order, aka those who truly believe what Radagon believed. I don't know why she would rebirth him and stick him in Erdtree amber. Also all of his attacks in the Erdtree are holy damage and he never uses a golden order incantation once. I strongly believe it's a puppet of sorts that the Elden beast sized control of from Marika then used more directly as the Holy Relic Sword
Edit: I forgot to say Zullie the witch did a video showing its detail and red hair can be found inside it. Also I strongly believe that since the sweetings all look the same and feminine i think Rennala was trying to make a new body for her daughter Ranni who had destroyed her own on the night of black knives

19:28 On my first time playing I had Gostoc under suspicion in my head, thinking he was trying to lure me into some trap when told me of the hole in the wall, so I acted on these suspicions and killed him, felt pretty guilty hearing his death dialogue. Slightly relieved hearing he was a lanky thief, yet still feeling guilty
He does trap you by closing a door behind you to the dark room where the annoying knight awaits you .

That tidbit about the Ainu (the indigenous people of northern Japan) is an interesting one. The Japanese government typically isn't fond of bringing them up, as they'd prefer that the world recognize the country as always being just Japanese, rather than it being a place once shared by different (and now conquered) peoples. As a result, the Ainu usually only appear in what could be considered "subversive" pop culture (like the very anti-traditional Samurai Champloo).
This sort of reflects how the Golden Order seeks to rewrite history and cast out people or civilizations that existed before their rule. Whether it was the Crucible that became host to the Erdtree, or the Eternal Cities that may have existed before the arrival of the Numen, those vestiges of the past cannot coexist with the future sought by the Golden Order.
Both ainu and the tribes that gave origin to the modern japanese people came from china. Both are descendent from the same people.

People have existed in Japan at least 15,000 years ago (possibly as long as 38,000 years ago), while East Asian migrants didn't arrive until 900 BCE, and the influx of Chinese culture and people didn't occur until around 200 BCE. The Ainu people were thought to have originated during the Jomon period (14,000 to 300 BCE), which likely puts them before the periods of mainland migration and the China-centric Yayoi period. Overall, historians broadly believe that the Ainu were in northern Japan long before "contemporary" Japanese arrived.

That would be cool but if I remember correctly the jellyfish exist because they have business in the living world that wasn’t resolved, which is why they remain. I think the description said something about hopes and dreams, which is why they’re around catacombs. So once you reunite them their business is over and they should both disappear

Latenna is on sniper duty, I put her at that unreachable place for a reason.
There's something so poetic about the lowlife deceitful Patches being the only enemy in the game capable of forgiveness. Back in Dark Souls 1, he tries to kill you multiple times, but once you forgive him he becomes one of the only characters in the game who just gives you honestly good advice such as about Lautrec and Petrus. It's these things that makes players love Patches I think. If he is capable of goodness then anyone is.
He's Also the Only Character to Appear in Every Soulsbourne Game Minus Sekiro (Including An Armored Core game). Either he's More Powerful than he lets on, Or Patches is just so Intertwined with Humanity's Various Self-Inflicted Disasters that im starting to think he's an omen of Doom.
@@theta8529I could be wrong but I believe the merchant who sells you intel in sekiro (you can meet him in the hirata memory and he sells you the butterfly kunai) is wearing a patchwork coat. I think he’s meant to be the patches stand in for sekiro. Pretty neat if true
@@theta8529this is the very first I’ve heard that fromsoft has a history of putting the exact same characters in basically all their games. Honestly confuses me a lot more on how exactly the lands between and the whole from soft universe manifests, bcuz how the hell is patches even getting everywhere.
I'd wager they changed that description on the long-fall talisman because comments about it jumping from the branches of the Erdtree reinforces the idea that it makes you immune to falls of any height, which was a big issue with the item at launch.
I would guess that they planned on him having a cat as the animal companion that humanizes him, but changed it to a horse, probably so he could ride around in the battle. Having two critters just draws attention away from the more important one so goodbye kitty
The near extinct language was really incredible. I wonder if we'll see more in the dlc? I'd be excited for more history and hidden bits!
There's an interesting video on RUclips channel Nativlang about Ainu. Interesting if irrelevant note, the Ainu are natives of the Kuril islands north of Japan which is a contested territory with Russia.

I highly recommend people research the Ainu, very cool history. I started learning about them after being introduced to their culture in Golden Kamuy.
Fun fact: the Ainu also influenced Prince Ashitakas tribe in Princess Mononoke, one of the best ghibli movies
16:54 i actually somehow figured out the puzzle on my own. I was roaming and i thinking about what other jellyfish can be her sister than i remembered Latenna quest line and how it ends with you summoning her and it was like a light bulb lighted on top my heat.
Discovering these secrets in elden ring is definitely one of the most satisfying feelings you can have
For me, I figured it out because I remembered that the jellyfish was named Aurelia from the item description. That stuck with me because it was such an odd detail. It was female name so when there was another jellyfish looking for her sister, it seemed to make sense. I was surprised it actually worked though, I hadn't done the Latenna quest before that.
Blackguard is actually pronounced "blaggard". Blaggard is also an alternative version of the word Blackguard.
"From black + guard, thought to have referred originally to the scullions and lower menials of a court, or of a nobleman's household, who wore black liveries or blacked shoes and boots, or were often stained with soot."
I think that quite a lot of the people who know the word's pronounciation learned it from _Hades's_ Theseus.

The power of Morgotts sword is obviously really similar to the power the Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower uses in Bloodborne. Which is really cool because they are both guarding the source of their own curse/shame.

The reason why Ainu is a dying language is because Japanese government slaughtered this population, fmab talk about this situation with the Ishval war referencing it (to everyone wondering no it was not a WW2 reference)

I'm gonna be honest, I saved boc completely on accident He wanted the larval tear and I did the your beautiful pate as a joke and when the dialogue hit I actually got really sad I has forgotten that while the prattling pate sounds like a raspy whisper to us the player... to those in universe it's the voice of the most loved person in their life...
It’s also sad that our tarnished can only hear the raspy whisper. It can either imply our tarnished was never loved or potentially his most loved person was sick or dying
Actually the "You're beautiful" pate actually is different than the rest.
The rest of the prattling pate tools all have a masculine whisper, but the You're beautiful one is feminine
I gave him the larval tear, and decided that after what I had done I would leave a message to warn those who were uninformed like me, he deserves life
I’ve always had a small theory that Torrent was some kind of animal related to the Ancestral Spirits because Torrent and the Spirits are the only things that have a double jump by using magic.
Malaketh kinda does with that jumping attack of his where he flies around the arena shooting arcs of that red fire at you.
Yeah the big elk bois definitely seem related to Torrent. Same colors, same double jump, same ability to disappear. And of course they share a basic body shape

The Bloodhound Fang, Black Knife weapon, Black Knife Summon and that Scythe weapon you can get from Malenia soldiers - these were my absolute favorites.
For spirit ashes, besides mimic tear, I personally like bloodhound knight Floh. I just think it's neat to summon up a spirit that doesn't really follow you around, you just summon and sort of sick'em on whoever or whatever is nearby.
I love Gideon’s spells. The whole game he used you as an errand boy, then he turns on you, using the spells you found for him against you.

The mental image of Gideon pouring over his books before seeing a single ember fall on the page, going "OH SHIT" and *sprinting* to the Capital is my favorite

Rannis ending is deservedly the most liked because it's the only side quest ending that has you exploring the most amount of areas and doing the most amount of things
Boc is such an incredibly kind character, his story makes me so sad and so happy and makes me cry. After you burn the Erdtree and create the Ashen Capital, you can still go back and find him

Their culture is fantastic to look into and if anyone wants to learn more about them there is a great memoir by one of their descendants that really uncovers what it is to be Ainu and talks about the hardships they had to go through when Japan started to take over their land and enslave their people.

Well now I finally know how the Ancestor Spirit died when I fought it. It started to do the warp thing at 1/6th hp, but just died offscreen instead. I thought it turned into a ram but apparently not.

A note about reproduction: when you're approaching the Three Fingers under Leyndell and talk to Melina, she urges you to remember that "births continue" in the wider world. So I don't know if it's true that Tarnished in general don't have any interest in reproduction, but rather the Lands Between specifically that is sterile (Tarnished or otherwise) and stagnant.
I don't think that it's the tarnished that have no interest in reproduction, but the people of the lands between who have lost hope. The majority of the tarnished are the descendants of the original tarnished who were the soldiers of Godfrey so they couldn't be sterile.
Yeah if we take it that nobody blessed with grace dies a natural death then it makes sense people may have stopped having children altogether in the Lands Between. And from that of course follows lack of renewal, stagnation, rot, etc. while the rest of the world was basically fine besides lacking the splendor of grace.
Plus Fia implies she was in a sexual relationship with Rogier for a while. She says he often talks "while abed." All we get is a hug, so there was something more intimate.

It may seem shocking to most people, but men who are paralyzed can intact get in the mood in many cases with the right circumstances. Which nerves are affected is more important than simply being unable to walk, and since Rogier’s disability is something he develops later it’s highly likely he still could.
I like how the lands between main areas, like limgrave and the Altus plateau, all seem to be different seasons, representing how your getting closer to the tune of death and the death of the age.

About the final wish, why the children couldn't see the stars. I think it may be because, at one time, the Erdtree was absolutly radiant to the point one couldn't see the night's sky. They must have heard of the stars in the stories of travelers.
Oh my gosh, what of Radahn got the idea for gravity magic by watching his cat "defy gravity," as it bounced down from the Erdtree?
That just adds to his entire backstory being, "I became the strongest warrior in the world so that NO ONE CAN EVER HURT MY PETS!"

Tarnished Archeologist has a fantastic video about this subject. Long story short, the Erdtree is alluded to have replaced the need for reproduction by rebirthing its adherents (or something to that effect). Procreation seems reserved for gods and royalty. The Artificial creation of life is extremely frowned upon (albinauric). Biological reproduction is seemingly more common in less faithful groups, i.e. demihumans and Mount Gelmir snakes.
I also would have loved to see a large cat that you can’t kill, maybe rarely spawning late at night near Lucaria, Caelid, and Altus Plateau, and mysteriously jumps around above you with the occasional “meow”. Would have loved that.
I think I would have liked Ranni’s double voice. It’s a little jarring at first because we’re used to her normal voice, but if they had chosen to double her voice like that where the second voice isn’t too intrusive, isn’t too overpowering in the volume, and has just enough reverb/echo to be mystical and magical - that would have been a great addition I think.

Regarding the Ainu, I just started watching the show Golden Kamuy, which involves the Ainu pretty heavily. Learned a fair bit about how they were forcibly assimilated to the Japanese culture, like Native Americans to the English and the Aboriginal to... well, the English. It was only in 2008 that their treatment was actually acknowledged by Japan, apparently.
If you ask me, "forcibly assimilated" doesn't paint a dark enough picture of the genocidal practices and policies that affected those people.

I remember when I first encountered the harpies song I just sat there listening for 15-20 minutes. Absolutely amazing voice acting and just hit different. Such a cool moment, I felt so sad disturbing the song by crossing through. I still sometimes go back to that area and listen for a minute or two.

Gravity consumables that can be used in combat seem to be super effective on the origin; the Fallen Star Beasts.
They always drop it, but used when the FSB charges, they actually have an specific animation where they fall and the player can land a couple hits.
The mysteries that you can still find in this game still blow my mind away.

Vaati pulls their raw data (with their consent obviously) breaks it down and builds it into the world as if it was a part of the vanilla lore so everyone can comprehend.

I wish there were more spirit related quests like Latena's. Latena speaking with you as spirit and giving you direction in certain places is so cool. I feel like the this was initial plan since the special spirits have so much details in their description.
I just imagined a version of this game where all of the special ashes (or even the normal ones too) had their own "loyalty quests." Maybe you power them up that way instead of leveling with materials? Or you just unlock alternate versions. That would go a long way to making them more interesting by their own merit instead of just a gameplay mechanic for balancing (or whatever people say. I like summoning, myself).

"Blaggard" is just a re-spelling of "blackguard" because of how people pronounced the latter.

Hearing the Song of Lament for the first time brought me chills. I was drawn to her voice like a moth entranced in flame, only to discover a beast instead of a siren.
I wish there was a way to befriend those singing harpies so that it could sing for you or something. Maybe a spirit of the harpy that sometimes sing when your not in combat?
Hearing the Song of Lament really brings back the feeling of playing Elden Ring for the first time.
Climbing up that ravine, surrounded by harpies, to the Altus Plateau and defeating that Magma Wyvern with my Guts build, accompanied by the Song of Lament.
It's one of the best memories I have from the game, maybe ever. :)

When thieves are caught, a brutal tradition is to cut off their dominant hand to make sure they don't steal again. This might be what happened to Gostoc.
And he sells bandit class equipments, probably it is his own gear before his left hand was amputated
The second voice to Ranni would have been amazing. I always thought she would cross me thoughout the entire questline, and that second voice would have made her so much more intimidating .
Now I love Radhan even more. Ps: there's a bug with Regal Ancestor Spirit in which it dies when switching body (my guess is that there was an unproperly placed spirit animal model under the ground and RAS just yeeted himself from the skybox), happened to me and I was super confused.
One thing I found out that's surprising is that each starter set has an alternate chest appearance but one that doesn't even though it would fit is the Bandit torso: it has a shirt under the bandit vest that seems to resemble a loose-fitting shirt worn by sailors which can be implied that there were tarnished who traveled by sea hoping to get rich by acting as mercenaries.
You can also find Gostoc following you on the hill near the stormhawks directly after his first room. Gotten him to spawn there twice now. Just survive the locked room trap and then backtrack as far as you can.
you don't have to go the room, you just have to walk far away enough from that small hill, turnaround immediately and you'll find him there stalking you.

Can second this. Black Guard has to be separating if you want to read it as such. Blackguard is pretty much always pronounced the same as blaggard. I wonder if the lack of virility is a result of Rennala's rune, the Great Rune of the Unborn, having been removed from the Elden Ring and given to her by Radagon. It allows for the rebirthing process so maybe it also governs regular procreation. If that's true, it may play into why it was given to Rennala when Radagon left her and potentially even why Radagon and Marika's children, the only demigods we know to have been born after Radagon's return, were cursed.
But why would the Golden Order want to prevent people from procreating? Is that somehow also linked to the demigods born after that point all opposing the Order to some extent?
Obviously the speculation only gets crazier the further we extrapolate, but it is interesting.
Also worth pointing out that the word 'blackguard' doesn't have anything to do with being a guard or soldier or serving under any banner. 'Blaggard' and 'blackguard' are essentially the same word in English, with effectively identical meanings.
I doubt that there was any greater purpose to removing the "Great Rune of Boning." I don't think the demigods wanted to prevent procreation, so much as they didn't care what the consequences were. These are the same people who removed the entire concept of death as we know it from their reality just to get one inconvenient person out of the way, and then locked it up to make sure that no one else can use it on them. Then they went to war with each other for more personal power, absolutely devastating the Lands Between and everyone in it, and no one even definitively won really.
It doesn't seem like they particularly care who gets hurt while they do whatever they feel like, and I'm pretty sure that that's the point.

I like Ranni with a double voice, but I think one of the voices should be quieter. Both to make it more understandable and pleasant, but also it make sense for her spirit half to sound more whispy and ghost like.
More games need to change your characters apereance as you play them, its so cool in elden ring when you notice the first time how something you did changed your characters eyes, or that you have burnmarks on your body.
There are SO many things and ways the other games could implement some same mechanisms and details from elden ring yet they seem to absolutely can't match with fromsoft so I guess we gotta admit elden ring just has to be considered apart from the rest of the production

I didn't manage to cry a single tear at my grandmothers funeral last year, even though she meant a lot to me, and yet i start crying when just listening to a bunch of video game soundtracks.
Different things provoke different reactions.
An extra point on the eye alterations, certain helmets have eyeholes and you can see your eyes through them! I found it works best with the 3 fingers chaos eyes because of their glow. You do have to mess with your character's eye placement to get them centred right, but on certain helmets it looks amazing. Ruler's Mask, Guardian Mask, White Mask, Mask of Confidence, Consort's Mask to name a few.
Mostly masks now I think of it lmao

Regarding Gideon, it's not just when you kill the bosses, it's when you've killed and reported everything about them to him, which he uses against you.
He was an asshat to me so i legit never talked to him again on my first playthrough after you first open his door. The "ohshit" moment on my second playthrough when i told him aboot every demigod i killed was actually awesome because i actually didn't know aboot the spell stuff.
I actually kind of assumed Gurranq is howling at Farum Azula, since he's actually Maliketh and he belongs there, since that is where we finally find him and battle him. It would certainly be some great foreshadowing, and we can pretty much tell that the Beastial Sanctum was once part of Farum Azula, considering its name, architecture and location (near Farum bridge as well). Perhaps he is mourning the fall of his civilization, that which was of the beasts and dragons before the Age of the Erdtree? It seems like the direction he howls fits too, if I recall, but I might be wrong on that one.
Big true, he is howling at Farum Azula, I'm surprised at some mistakes and errors in the video as all these "secrets" have been well known and out there for a long time now if you follow the game as a lore hunter or just a big fan of Elden Ring.
He is actually howling in the direction of the Erdtree. If you trigger the interaction and face the direction he faces, it's well off from where Farum Azula would be.
Maliketh is a Shadow, he was created by the Greater Will to serve Marika. He wasn't around before the Age of the Erdtree.
I’m a bit confused since Gurranq was howling into the night for me after I beat Maliketh. I always assumed that Gurranq was grieving the loss of one of his kind. And isn’t it so that you can still go to Gurranq after killing Maliketh? I’m pretty sure I did that.

He was MADE into a shadow, but as a beast, which he clearly is, he may have originated from the older civilization Marika supplanted, and became (or was forced into) being her shadow and "half-brother." He is a clergyman of Farum Azula too, after all, and may very well have a connection to that past before becoming Marika's shadow?
My goodness, the Ainu song that the bats used to sing. That is just tragic but also a beautiful way for Fromsoft to preserve that language in their work. I wish they kept it, but considering how Latin seems to be the language of choice for songs in this game, I understand why they kept it out in the final cut. Thank you for sharing this, Vaati. That is the only Latin song in the game, the rest is gibberish as I revealed to the world in May. I also revealed the singer of the song of lament too ^^

Another note on Latenna is that if you summon her for the Mohg, Lord of Blood fight, rather than fighting Mohg she will kneel in front of Miquella’s cocoon until she is hit by Mohg
I like that little detail about Sir Gideon Ofnir using spells of optional bosses only if you've beaten them, I remember explicitly thinking "Bro I just killed Malenia after fighting her for the last 40hrs you're no threat to me doing that" while he spammed Scarlet Aeonia three times in front of me during my first run 🤣
Speaking of special eyes. My Sorcerer build was feeling left out, so now her right eye (which was blinded and has a big burn mark over it, kinda like Zuko from ATLA) is a deep blue with black sclera. It's very cool~ Did it around the time I beat Radahn which was kinda symbolic (it also took me ten tries.)

I'm just speculating but I think the sisters couldn't "see" the stars because of Radahn. Once you defeat Radahn they are able to see the stars.

I think it's more a thing of they wanted to see them together, but were separated when one sister was turned into spirit ashes. So you reuniting them fulfills their desire to see the stars together.

The ainu singing was instantly recognizable for anyone who was a fan of Samurai Champloo. Umeko Ando recorded Pekambe Uk for that show, and it's just as haunting as this one.
That secret about Gideon is something I actually noticed on my first playthrough. My friends and I were playing through the game at the same time, and I was the first one to reach Gideon. I was the only person in my group to have defeated Malenia before fighting Gideon, so I saw him try to use Scarlet Aeonia (I say "try" as every time he tried to charge it up I just knocked him down with a spell lol) several times throughout my fight with him. Later I watched my friends fight him as they streamed their games, and noticed the lack of Scarlet Aeonia, and the inclusion of Comet Azur. At this point I was sure that his move set changed depending on the demigods you previously fought. Later in my second playthrough I saw the lack of both Rykard's Rancor and Scarlet Aeonia and believed my theory to be correct. It feels gratifying to know that there is concrete code to confirm it!

7:28 funny people say this about the bows and crossbows; my first playthrough was using bows and crossbows, and i somehow managed to beat the game and get all remembrances.
it was amazing; the coward strats, the advantage i took of the game's logic, the glory that was the pully crossbow and the status-inflicting bolt types, the absolute QUEEN that was the mimic tear, it was so much fun! and it's so bizarre because i was barely leveled up for like half the game, since all my runes went towards arrows and bolts (and i had a ludicrous amount of golden runes i just never used since that was the best backup for more bolts and arrows if i was ever broke). bows scale bad and crossbows dont scale at all outside of raw upgrades; outside of weapon stat requirements, you dont got a need for leveling up until later on when you really need the extra health to survive a couple hits. i think it was somewhere around the 15 hour mark, or so, that i actually beat my first boss, since i spent the whole time exploring instead. yeah, bow and crossbow only leaves you VERY weak at first, but by the end, i was unstoppable!
if you haven't tried out bow and crossbow only runs, PLEASE try it out! pully crossbow, pully bow, and radhan's greatbow are the best. the pully crossbow is gonna be your main boss-killer, with the greatbow for when you can take advantage of hit stun and knockback (bye bye every enemy on a cliff!), and the pully bow for normal everyday shots. just make sure you got that arrow reach talisman on you at all times!
