So I "died" via death build-up with the tree branch and everything however right before the damage had inflicted, I was crab grabbed which canceled the death blight animation and damage which was replaced by the crab claw grab damage. I escaped the claw and directly afterward a subsequent animation of death blight happened which did me in despite no more death build-up present. Funniest thing that happened all week.
Morgott is easily my favorite boss in Elden Ring. Not for his fight or the presentation or even the music, but his constant presence throughout the game. The Fell Omen, the Night's Cavalry, the scene with Godfrey holding his body and all inbetween. He's one of the few noble souls, fighting for what he believed in, who retained their sense of self all the way to the end.
It's a shame they cut so much from the capital and the Veiled Monarch. I think a major theme of the game is that people who are rejected by a system often become its strongest defenders. Radagon with his red hair, Morgott the Omen, and even Godwyn the Golden, who I have always suspected was born with fish features from the crucible. All of the art of him has his mermaid tail hidden by his skirt.
Because people are probably wondering - the Shanehaight NPC has cut dialogue, and while we had the text, we did not have the narrated lines. So I asked @ricepirate to help bring the character to life.
@@samueljonathan6101 You don't have to kill him. *Spoilers* If you advanced his storyline to where he moves to Leyndell and you let Dung Eater out of his cell, Dung eater will kill him. Killing Dung Eater in his cell or not getting Big Boggart to leave Liurnia will prevent him from being killed by Dung Eater.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS is it though? I think the titles of elden lord and king of Leyndell are two seperate things. So he wasn't lying when he said he was the last king of Leyndell.
I think there is actually a very straightforward reason the Crucible and primordial life was eventually persecuted so heavily: the Golden Order was built around removing Death from the Elden Ring, and worshiping a Queen Eternal. No past or future, only the timeless, eternal Golden Order. Anything that points out the beginnings of (or even eras preceding) the Golden Order would inevitably become taboo, because it flies in the face of the paradoxical achievement of the Order, that Death has been mastered and endings no longer exist.
The Crucible as the "natural" essence of the Lands Between probably incorporated death into its daily life, rituals etc., so it makes even more sense that the Golden Order would necessarily shun the Crucible for the reasons you mention.
Oh good, even more reason to hate the Golden Order Honestly, I’m glad we remove the Golden Order Like Sonic the Hedgehog once said; “What good is a world that goes on forever?”
@@logeyperogi1805 i was gonna write "unless you do the goldmask ending", but then i realized there is no ending that doesnt return destined death... huh
@@restlessundead9366 the omens like margott and hewg the blacksmith there seen as lesser beings and are shunned and enslaved picking the dungeater ending makes every one an omen so every one would be seen more or less equal I mean it’s not a “good” ending but it’s better than the other ones imo frenzied flame definitely the worst tho💀but yeah pretty much if everyone is cursed no one is cursed
The way that the main character transitions esthetically from a majestic Golden warrior to a bloodied , sickly looking omen curse user it's just amazing. It complements the narrative of this video perfectly. You realy outdid yourself this time man goodjob.
I will always remember the Dung Eater. Because in all my Soulsborne blind playthroughs, I have never once attempted to kill an NPC even though they may seem questionable. Because I can never be sure of true intentions and personality. The Loathsome Dung Eater made me break my rule. Even in my best assumptions about him, I could still see him doing unspeakable things to at least one person who didn't deserve it. So when I finally got to his corporeal body, I showed him the same lack of mercy he would have showed to Boggart, and killed him without letting him even fight back. This was probably the only time in all my Soulsborne experience where I felt purely good about killing. And when I found out later about what he was all about, I am so glad I made the right call.
what he was all about ? You mean, restoring the land between to what it once originally was, removing the parasite erdtree and denying the greater will its dictatorial control ? giving all shunned and persecuted Omen the right to live freely ? Right. Of course I'm exaggerating but this is what this video is all about; showing that "the BLESSING of despair" aka Dung Eater's ending isn't all about darkness and cruelty??
Except dung eater is good. His ending is probably second only to Ranni's for total benefit to humanity, everyone is born as an omen / crucible being which isn't even a bad thing and they're freed from the meddling of the elden ring outer god.
@@SomeAssh0le The Dung Eater's ending might arguably have a good result, but I think it is a stretch to say the Dung Eater himself is good. The Dung Eater is basically a deranged serial killer with a school shooter mind set of "I have suffered, so everyone else should suffer." He isn't trying to start a revolution.
...If only this game made since. i have a feeling martin's script was supposed to play a way bigger part, but they hated what he wrote, and just made its work, by throwing it back 1000s of years, plus a ton of REWRITING as much as possible, to make Frankenstein the MAIN story together... which is why we get a slideshow instead of an FMV, (save $$$ wasted, time crunch, etc.). and yes, a lot of it makes since, in a lot of diff pieces, def not as a WHOLE tho. until this magical DLC comes out and explains the overarching narrative, i refuse to believe this wasn't a disaster behind closed doors AS FAR AS LORE. im not hating, bc this game is the shit. i just feel like im the tin hat guy the more i think about this game, compared to the others. the gameplay is great... the everything is great, but i just have this gut feeling its DEF not the directors OG vision, but they had the talent to roll with it. roll... @@briankeys5941 Wow, you must be completely unfamiliar with Fromsoft then, this is how most of their stories are told. The Dark Souls series, Demon Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro, if you wanted the backstory for any of these games then you'd only get fragments of it at a time and you'd have to piece the story together yourself and fill in the gaps since not everything is explained. In reality, the story is basically being told from your character's perspective; they only learn about the world around them and what happened and all of that based on details they can glean from different items and what different people tell them. This is how the story of these games has always been and this is why people love it.
@@briankeys5941 Have you even played any of the other FromSoft games? In Elden Ring, like every other From Software production, the _overwhelming majority_ of story narrative is given to the player via environmental storytelling and item descriptions. You are complaining about the lack of story clarity when, if you really pay attention, it's all laid out for you throughout your time playing the game, and it's up to you to use your brain and actually put two-and-two together with the given information. If everything was explained in longwinded exposition, the game's story would be boring - as there is no sense of intrinsic motivation for the player to actually explore the world and learn what is going on for themselves. If all you care about is "Me STR build do big numbers ooga booga," then that's totally fine - you bought the game and can play the way you want, but you simply cannot look at this game, with it's _entirely unique_ fantasy universe with deep lore, and complain that it "doesnt make sense." I suggest paying attention in English class and actually completing your reading assignments so your grammar develops beyond a complete keyboard-driven trainwreck.
Bro the voice actor for the Dung Eater deserves some sort of award. "Have you ever felt the curse? With your whole being?" sent shivers down my spine!!!
Vaati, I need you to do one of these for each ending. These are INCREDIBLE works of cinematic and storytelling genius. I, no, WE, need one for each ending. They will forever be cemented as legendary. Doing this kind of content shows other content creators what they can achieve. It’s an inspiration to another generation of content creators, and I FIRMLY hope you do one for Fia, Goldmask, and Ranni. This was incredible. This is something I’ll be coming back to on a regular basis.
Just a thought, morgott doesn’t call his twin a traitor. And mogh uses the same magic as morgott to defend the path to the three fingers. And brings ruin to the haligtree by taking Miquella from it. Mogh isn’t even actively seeking power. Content to wait for the time of his dynasty, and does not challenge his twin for Lyndell. Seems like there’s a level of cooperation
Doubt Morgott even knows what his brother is up to, nor do I think he ever even mentions him. Mogh protecting the entrance to the three fingers makes sense since it's a threat to the creation of his dynasty and that assumes its him since he disapates into a golden mist, which doesn't make sense considering his affiliation with the formless mother. While Mogh is never mentioned, Miquella is and it's in an almost admiring tone leading me to conclude he isn't opposed to Miquella, not as much as Rykard anyways. Mogh also has no real reason to go the Lyndell; having no desire to brandish the elden ring unlike the other demi-gods who've tried seizing it. Honestly I think Morgott either hates his brother to such a degree that he refuses to speak about him or he has no clue what his brother is doing.
@@Canaanitebabyeater both of them using blood and fire magic is interesting though. Mogh uses them more directly via his association with the formless mother. but why does Morgotts sword use blood and fire if the association with the erd tree and the greater would brand association with the formless mother as heretical? I feel like there is definitely some sort of connection between the two.
@@tarot1919 So I looked into this and I noticed Morgott actually vomits (as in, he loses control of his accursed power and clearly isn’t happy about this as he remarks: “your part in this will not be forgiven”) during his final boss fight, and only then does he start using blood-flame. As I mentioned prior they edited the cutscene to not have the fire anymore.

Beautifully presented, as always. I had missed most of this story's questlines and couldn't understand dung eater's role in the elden ring lore. Thanks for this!
If you never do Rya's quest then you can do Dungeater's quest (or just kill him/turn him into a puppet) then do Rya's. Then Boggart can enjoy crab forever.
Dung Eater legit scared me the first time. He has that incredibly unsettling air about him, and the feeling that he will do something genuinely terrible to you, or to the world, if you talk to him or do what he wants. Something... unforgivable, something you can't take back.
Funny how between him and Shabriri, he is more terrifying. One is an immortal that wants to end all of life and melt everything that exists. The other wants to do something unknown but horribly vile and repulsive, that you and everyone else would have to live through - and somehow that is worse. Oh, and then there's Goldmask, who would destroy free will, and Fia, who wants to add zombies.
Maybe you spare a flask for him when he’s dying and he decides that your goals don’t have to cause disrupt between you, and that both can co-exist and work together for a better age, indiscriminate of grace and curse.
Technically, that may be the default ending, perhaps the gold mask ending at best. He refuses all attempts to reach the great runes, even with the sealed erdtree known to him. He may prefer to keep the machine running as it is, despite how it is clearly falling apart.
Prepare to Cry has aged like the finest wine. The production value of this series has reached heights worthy of AAA media. Love the action sequences, love the length of the recent vids, love the soundtrack, love it all. Especially the vasectomy given to Godfrey lol. Thanks, Vaati and friends. Been watching since DS1 and will continue to do so until Elden Ring III or beyond

I just came back to the video after the DLC and my god. Does this quest line and ending hold so much more gravity! Imagine being Marika, your people are put into jars and made into ‘saints’ by the Hornsent. You (Marika) meet the Mother of Fingers and you are given a way, a method to fight back and escape your people’s persecution. You take it and create your own order. An order that is tied to the Erdtree and now, those born of grace will return to the Erdtree and be reborn and you have made a cycle you think is rid of your oppressors. Only you still harbor that old hatred, so you demonize Hornsent and name them Omen. They are denied grace and rebirth by the Erdtree but, you have two children of your own that are Hornsent. You secret them away and continue to Order but over time you feel maybe, you were the one not in control. Your Order falls apart as your other self begins to slowly take over your self. So, as you lie crucified, in your desperate hour, you resurrect the Tarnished. A Tarnished follows your Grace but in their travels they meet the Dungeater, a monster of a person that defiles the corpses of those able to have Erdtree burial and he does this by making his victims genetically Horsent or Omen. The Tarnished, not knowing the full story, think this Dungeater might be on to something. So the Tarnished, your last chosen, fixes the Elden Ring by placing a rune of pestilence, a rune of Omen no, of Hornsent and your story, of oppression and genocide come full circle and your Order is now responsible for the death of the Erdtree, the sky a plague and it’s all your fault. WTF Fromsoft.
and possibly turned her to an omen (or hornsent in her eyes i guess) the very thing she hated about the persecuted became the persecutor both the treatment and her possible appearance
I don’t think the hornsent and the omen are the same thing. I just think it’s an aspect of the crucible that manifested again. Horns are a very special aspect of the crucible because of how it allows one to communicate with spirits and divinity but you can clearly see that the omen have much more visceral horn growth than the hornsent.
I always took it as an actual, genuine compliment from Morgott, who probably (as Margit) crushes wannabe Elden Lords 24/7. You manage to hold your own to point that he’s not completely contemptuous of your existence, so he acknowledges that you have some ‘passing skill.’ What I’m curious about is if Morgott was aware of Godfrey’s past as Hoarah Loux. If not, I’m sure it would probably come as a major shock. It’s pretty great that the First Elden Lord’s two personas end up reflected in his twin children; on the one hand, you have the regal ruler that is unfairly shunned/exiled, and on the other you have the maniac that spends most of their time coated in literal gallons of blood.
The Omen Curse adds so much to the story of the game. The complexity of Morgott and Mogh's duality, the contradiction of the Golden order, the DUNG EATER. I mean, how does a simple concept as a birth defect end up driving so much of the conflict in the world!? It's incredible and simple.
Man, the sound effects and music synced with the footage here and the structure of the entire thing is just incredible, can't lie. Very impressed, the Margit part gave me chills
He's a victim of torture suffering from trauma causing a mental issue called Stockholm syndrome... it's awful and mirrors the horrid effect of religious zealots... he's a tragic character that you're supposed to feel sorry for!
bro is him. he defended leyndell for millenia, with the inner wall never being breached before the tarnished. he defeated radahn (near or at his prime), and defended the stalemate between the demigods by acting as margit and defending the weakest shardbearer.
Remember during the game's intro when everyone heard the name "Dung Eater" and thought it was funny? Who would have thought that he would be arguably the most twisted character in FromSoft's catalogue?
Excellent episode. I really appreciate how you did Prawn-Bro's sad story justice, wasn't expecting to feel that level of emotion from seeing him bloodied and battered again like this.
Mate... I was so careful on my first playthrough and really tried to take in everything, and I still had no idea what was going on. Would be lost without you.
your storytelling has evolved and improved by leaps and bounds over the years, and we're all the better for it... thank you for all that you do and keep doing, vaati... 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Finally I feel like this will give people a better understanding of Morgott’s tragic story, the dung eater, and the age of despair ending. I’ve always loved Morgott’s character and many people don’t even know his story so I’m glad it’s been told in such a amazing way.
I feel like Morgott and Mogh weren't locked in the sewers always. I feel like Morgott was in fact out of the sewers way before the Shattering. The hammer he uses is the Giant Crusher. A hammer used in War of the Giant and later fell out of use which leads me to believe that he was out of the sewers way before the Shattering. Not to mention Morgott already having an order of knights by the time Godwyn was killed which we see in the trailer, the way he talks about his siblings as if he knew them personally (He is respectful with Radahn, hateful towards Rykard, mournful for Ranni, nostalgic for Miquella and Malenia and even uses Godrick's actual title), his way of speaking of them felt WAY too personal for him to just know of them by hearsay and I think he did know them and may have been loved by some of them, maybe by Miquella who loved the deformed ones and Godwyn who was ready to befriend Dragons. Not to mention that Morgott also created Sentry's Torches which means at the time Godwyn was killed he had to have authority over Leyndell's army. Not to mention that Mogh would have to know of Miquella's existence to even get to him and know where he was. Not to mention that Morgott and Mogh both are VERY articulate for people that spend apparently their entire lives in sewers which leads me to believe they must have been out for a while and be taught. After all Godfrey loved Morgott at least so he had to have a say about his children being in sewers. Also the Shade we fight before Morgott HAD TO BE made by Morgott himself and the fact that he places HIS crown on the throne I think further proves that Morgott did knew Godfrey personally. He wanted him to come back so HE can be Elden Lord. As for Godfrey, it may be so that Godfrey was banished because of Greater Will and not Marika herself. Both him and Marika seem to still carry some fondness for one another and maybe Godfrey was the one to make Marika conflicted in her faith in Golden Order and Godfrey's willingness to accept Crucible and it's knights made him a dangerous foe to Greater Will which had to be banished and that made Marika go on to make plans to shatter Elden Ring and be reunited with him as he mends it back together so both of them can be free. Also I feel like Dungeater's Curse could be his OWN version of Omen curse. A Omen curse born of his understanding of Crucible, not of Crucible itself and therefore his Omen curse is horribly depraved, corrupted by his terrible mind. After all, how could someone like him re-create blessing of Crucible? I think what he makes is his own way of looking at this curse which is why it's so twisted and evil. I say that also because I feel like the closer thing to Crucible itself is worshipped by the Bull people of Siofra river and their spirits. Budding horns mention that creatures with horns were once seen as holy, much like Omens and one of the biggest features of their spirits is their great horns like branches of trees. This may be the last remains of true Crucible while Dungeater is mad imposter. Which fits with his obsession with being an Omen despite not being one. Those are my thoughts.
Those are very well articulated thoughts, and I totally agree. It makes sense that they'd have gotten out of the sewers beforehand, honestly. And, while Godfrey might not have been the only reason that Marika made plans to shatter the ring (She did lose Godwyn), its totally feasible that he'd have been a big hand in it.
While I agree Marika and Godfrey were still fond of eachother I don’t think Marika had any plans of surviving the shattering. It was one last fuck you to the invasive greater will.
Dung Eater: “And just to be sure, that when they’re reborn, they’ll be cursed. Along with their children, and their children’s children for all time to come. Bloodborne: “Curse those fiends, their children too. And their children’s children forever true.” Yeah, probably a Bloodborne reference from Dung Eater there.
As a Latinist I greatly appreciate that the Latin lyrics actually make sense, which makes the song even more beautiful. Thank you Vaati for your awesome work.
@@davidpotts7116 The original language of the song was an obscure Japanese dialect spoken by very few today. While the Latin is beautiful, I will always wonder about what we never got to hear.
This is just wonderful. Vaati getting his hands on a mix between From and GRRM truly helps his storytelling shine. As an Alt Shift X fan, remembering he made a comment to a fan that he was secretly Vaati was maybe the best thing I’ve ever heard. Would love to see a collab between them in the future.
I feel like Godfrey, a true pinnacle of the crucible shown through his raw strength, would have been against the shunning of the crucible. I think it was mainly because of him that the omen were “spared” and sent to the sewers, along with his knights still being allowed to serve. After all, if Marika had any love for Godfrey and their children, she would have listened to his plight. She always had a plan, but I’d like to think she had at least some romantic feelings towards him somewhere in her cunning heart.
I think the Outer Gods fight for control of the Lands Between indirectly and The Outer God of The Crucible was the previous owner. If that's true it would make sense that his influence still persists and that The Greater Will seeks to erase every trace of it. Maybe the Erdtree it's an anchor and it's aspect changes depending on who's in control.
This is an editing masterpiece. The scene where the mending rune is created gives absolute chills. Vatti brings this culmination of cursed evil to life in a very tangible way with that scene!
This was truly amazing work. I can't even imagine how long it took to plan, research, write, film, and edit. I felt like I was watching a full length film. And it is only one story of many in ER! What blows my mind is that these soulsborne worlds are so deep/complex it requires a scholar like yourself (and the community) to uncover it all! Hats off to FROM to continue creating these stories to be discovered.
I have a strange, tiny bit of headcannon about the Dung Eater, no real evidence to back it up though. I believe that he was once mostly normal, but had a child that was afflicted with the omen curse, and the excision of his child's horns lead to its death, as is often the fate of omen children. I believe that this is what broke the Dung Eater and led to his obsession with the Omens and hatred for the Golden Order.
Damn, love the little artworks on it, this series has advanced! Started this series in ds3 and have been binging over the years and this is the best episode so far. Godspeed, Vaati!
24:24 I feel like the VA perfomances are so underated in ER, the way his voice changes depending on the demigod is subtle yet meaningful, just listen how spiteful he sounds towards Rykard.
This is why I love Vaati. He's brought together this whole community that loves these games and using their combined talents they elevate these stories. All the silent world building by FromSoft is given voice through this Elden scholar VaatiVidya. Incredible work can't wait for the next one.
A lot of the shots in these scenes look like they could fit perfectly in a psychological horror movie (27:00 and 30:14 especially). Truly does speak volumes about how much the channel's grown since you first began breaking down the lore of Dark Souls. Congrats for another banger!
This video was amazing. The entire team that worked on it should be so proud of what they did. I got chills during some of the scenes near the end, and just loved the descent into madness the protagonist went down . These videos deserve millions of views, and set such a high bar. I feel like I can send these to people who might not even be into games because of how well made it is!
As mentioned widely the artwork and animation was wonderful, but the way you had the music blended was a masterpiece and made it felt so much more cohesive, connected and it cannot be stated just how well put this prepare to cry was.
Just realized that the song that plays at 22:35 (when Morgott enters and trashtalks the other Demigods) is a somber remix of the main theme/Final Battle, and I’m here for it. Incredible stuff, really. Edit: Also love that we’re practically getting a Vaati-style expanded universe for each ER ending. Both the new Defiler and the Lord of Frenzied Flame from the last video are amazingly fleshed out despite never speaking a word.
The Blessing of Despair is one of the most interesting endings to me, it's a true change of the status quo and stands out as really unique among the other "basic" endings.
@@staomruel Same here, I'm still hoping that they'll add new cutscenes for the endings that got generic ones. Probably won't happen but it would be cool to have every ending get a cutscene like the Darkmoon or Frenzied Flame endings.
@@Duskwalker68 The one I wanna see the most is the rune from Fia's questline, the Mending Rune of the Death Prince. Aside from Ranni's ending, Fia's ending seems like the next best ending. Returning things to the Golden Order just sounds like a terrible idea, and there's no pissing way I'm choosing Dung Eater's cursed ending. Goldmask's ending is pretty sound, working out the flaws and kinks of the Golden Order, though I'm not sure I can trust it even then. There's such a thing as too much good. Evil and good need to coexist. Balance takes precedence over pure order. The Frenzied Flame is intriguing, but madness....well, I don't need to explain why it wouldn't be a good idea to force a true chaos upon the world. Even chaos has to have reason. It needs to be balanced with order. Just as order must be balanced by chaos. The Frenzied Flame has no reason. Fia's ending, the age of the Duskborn is a more natural cycle, one like our real life age. And interests me the most since it puts the world not in order, but in balance.
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS Yeah the Age of Duskborn was really cool too! Definitely my second favourite of that group, the storyline was great. So, even though I've been a huge fan of Souls and Vaati ever since I came here to watch the story of Siegmeyer a long, long (long), time ago, I only just beat Elden Ring for the first time yesterday and came here after getting a rather underwhelming narration-over-a-sitting-in-a-throne ending from the game. And I have to say, this is *incredible*! Prepare to Cry has gone from shining a light on From's storytelling to taking that storytelling and elevating it to the point of it becoming something else entirely new and exceptional! Fantastic work to all involved!

This was amazing to watch, cant wait for you to tackle the other ending as well. I love how the dung eaters curse mantra is a call back to the Baneful Chanter from Bloodborne, " Curse the fiends, their Children too, and their children forever more."
"Morgott tried to be the Erdtree's protector. He was never loved, and should never have learned love. But nevertheless, love the Erdtree he did." That's the line that did me in. That's the line that made my tears flow.

My favourite is Mohg. I hope we'll see more of his Blood Dynasty in DLC.
"Four Tarnished"
It's a shame they cut so much from the capital and the Veiled Monarch. I think a major theme of the game is that people who are rejected by a system often become its strongest defenders. Radagon with his red hair, Morgott the Omen, and even Godwyn the Golden, who I have always suspected was born with fish features from the crucible. All of the art of him has his mermaid tail hidden by his skirt.
Night cavalry? What have they to do with it
also the fight though. Really fucking good one. Godfrey beats him though. Mmmm that attack pattern and dodge timing
Because people are probably wondering - the Shanehaight NPC has cut dialogue, and while we had the text, we did not have the narrated lines. So I asked @ricepirate to help bring the character to life.

1984
The Crucible as the "natural" essence of the Lands Between probably incorporated death into its daily life, rituals etc., so it makes even more sense that the Golden Order would necessarily shun the Crucible for the reasons you mention.
Oh good, even more reason to hate the Golden Order
Honestly, I’m glad we remove the Golden Order
Like Sonic the Hedgehog once said; “What good is a world that goes on forever?”
kinda fits with the dragons being accepted into the golden order too, since they are also immortal.

@@SomeAssh0le true, good outcome just horrible execution by the dung eater
@@SomeAssh0le The Dung Eater's ending might arguably have a good result, but I think it is a stretch to say the Dung Eater himself is good.
@@briankeys5941 bruh your so far for right it's actually funny. I'm sure you think GoT is a masterpiece

"Queen Marika... at whom were you so angry."
and possibly turned her to an omen (or hornsent in her eyes i guess) the very thing she hated about
the persecuted became the persecutor both the treatment and her possible appearance

What I’m curious about is if Morgott was aware of Godfrey’s past as Hoarah Loux. If not, I’m sure it would probably come as a major shock.
Eh
@@leonseuropeanislandadventu7398 Thank you for your contribution.
@@Raccoonricky10 Thank you for your contribution Hank, now go find Walter. Or elaborate.
While I agree Marika and Godfrey were still fond of eachother I don’t think Marika had any plans of surviving the shattering. It was one last fuck you to the invasive greater will.

Stomping Morgott’s head in was dirty 😭😭 bro didn’t deserve that
I feel like Godfrey, a true pinnacle of the crucible shown through his raw strength, would have been against the shunning of the crucible.
Imo it makes it worst I miss the old style it was actually sad but now all these extra effects makes the video lose its meaning
@@mitsuri3096hey if all else fails, you could listen to this like an audio drama. That’s what I do sometimes
24:24 I feel like the VA perfomances are so underated in ER, the way his voice changes depending on the demigod is subtle yet meaningful, just listen how spiteful he sounds towards Rykard.
Given that Rykard's title is the blasphemous that'd make sense lol
@@skydonkey9515 And the seige on Mt. Gelmir against Rykard's army left Morgot's forces diminished, with the disastrous remains of the battle visible.
Not just Rykard, but the other Demigods.
Godrick: Disgust.
Miquella and Malenia: Sadness
Radahn: Respect
Ranni: Disappointment
This is why I love Vaati. He's brought together this whole community that loves these games and using their combined talents they elevate these stories. All the silent world building by FromSoft is given voice through this Elden scholar VaatiVidya. Incredible work can't wait for the next one.
The only ending I refuse to get out of my sheer hatred for Dung Eater.
This felt more like a movie than a YT video, the fighting the camera shots were all godly and amazing
Thanks so much for your work!
I cannot begin to state how freaking incredible this video was, from soundtracks, to visuals, to narration, everything was executed flawlessly.
Bro the dung eater walking into frame to kill Blackguard was insane, I gasped I knew what happens to him but to see it acted out is amazing
32:36 "Makes you wonder why did it have to be this way? Why did Marika demonize the crucible?" ... the hate is justified after the DLC lol.
What's the song name?
The Blessing of Despair is one of the most interesting endings to me, it's a true change of the status quo and stands out as really unique among the other "basic" endings.
I was kinda disappointed the Erdtree didn't change in game.
And interests me the most since it puts the world not in order, but in balance.
it just makes the world worse
@@JediMasterRevenantMADNESS Yeah the Age of Duskborn was really cool too! Definitely my second favourite of that group, the storyline was great. I think it could potentially have negative repercussions further down the line given Godwyn's transformation and how he infects the Lands Between, but it would be interesting regardless.
These games are more like books than anything else encompassesing a whole world with such deep and hidden struggles from soft is truely amazing im so thankful we get to see a studio actually deliver beyond expectations
7:50 Bogard laid it all out for us back then we just didnt saw it but now after the dlc everything makes sense
Man, I love the opening with the music and your cinematic narration.
Agreed. What is the music btw?
Yup, what's the music, can someone answer where did he get it
@@VincentStaMaria-kw6nl In Pieces, by Madison York.
The production quality on this is beyond impressive
This is another level. Thank you Vaati and all who worked on this masterpiece.
2:43 The direction, the music choice, the narration coming in over that beautiful artwork.
Everything was absolutely perfect
The presentation at the start of this video is absolutely incredible, the art that describe the events that played out is absolutely amazing.😻
Man Vaati just keeps getting better. I can keep rewatching and never get tired of any of it
These vignettes made for such a perfect couple to the narration that I forgot it was an analysis
Morgott has always been my favorite fight. The Margit fight was a close contender just for setting and atmosphere, but the line 'have it writ upon thy meagre grave' is so fucking badass it gives me goosebumps
One of the greatest prepare to cry.... Artorias, Gehrman and now the Dung eater those are the masterpieces... the ending is beyond flawless... likes and subscribes not enough for this it needs more
I cannot even cry, I'm just in awe at how much work went into this. I especially love the instrumentation of the Song of Lament!
There is no better channel to view Elden Ring lore. The cinemotography is just phenomenal. Feel like I'm watching a movie with better production than Hollywood! Well done VaatiVidya and everyone who contributed to this masterpiece.
The production quality on these is insane
This was amazing to watch, cant wait for you to tackle the other ending as well. I love how the dung eaters curse mantra is a call back to the Baneful Chanter from Bloodborne, " Curse the fiends, their Children too, and their children forever more."
"Morgott tried to be the Erdtree's protector. He was never loved, and should never have learned love. But nevertheless, love the Erdtree he did."
That's the line that did me in. That's the line that made my tears flow.
Beautiful illustrations and animations! Well done to everyone who was involved, you smashed it
These are so unbelievably good.
These last two prepare to cry's.....
Please please please keep this direction. God they are actual masterpieces and add so much to the whole elden ring experience. I ain't got patrion but take this.
These paintings/animations are top tier, the script is excellent, all brought together by Vaati’s incredible narration. I wasn’t expecting this today but I’m glad it happened. Thank you, Vaati. You’re a legendary creator whose name will be known, even many many years after you stop making content. Thank you for everything you do and the other creators you bring together to make content like this.
This was amazing! Like I'm in awe because of this editing and story. It all fit and pieced together and never once did I feel disconnected. My only request is for rannis ending in this style next because this was utterly amazing
That Margit fight was absolutely amazing.
DLC update @VaatiVidya Now it make sense “Golden One, At Whom Were you Angry” it was the Hornsent and there kin the Omen. And Did bro said “Markia Tits You must be hungry “
I was waiting for this video, honestly. I love seeing what you come up with regarding the lore!
Man you are getting really good! I discovered you when I fell in love with the hunt and my journey through Yharnham. Now I get all excited and treat you like a blockbuster movie. You should feel very proud of yourself and your team. This was incredible
Vatti, your production value is absolutely off the charts. Hats off to you and everyone who helped put this together!
When you can fully understand the story, it makes things so much better. Trying to piece lore together makes the story so difficult to enjoy, but these videos really help out.
"May the curse seep to thy very soul" I don't know if I CAN have a favorite boss amongst some of the legends in Elden Ring, but Morgott easily shares a top spot with some of the other ones like Radahn and Malenia
