That's Taylor Goldsmith, the writer and singer of Dawes. Brilliant.

I've played guitar for 50 years and fell in love with this particular version of this song several years ago. I've played it nearly every day for probably 4 years and never grow tired of it. There aren't many songs I could say that about. I just wish I could sing like Taylor.😊

Wow. That is a thought provoking song! Great one to listen to by yourself. No one to distract you from your thoughts.

This is one of the most well written songs i have ever heard, period.

This is one of the best songs I've ever heard --- it's absolutely brilliant. Fantastic writing, perfect performance. No doubt it's a 10. Thanks so much for the request Bethany, and thank you Don for an insightful and terrific reaction!!!

@Terry Wood Amen all the way around! I'm glad you enjoyed it as I did, as it's an incredible piece of writing.

Hi, I'm the one who requested this! For context, I'm in my early 30s, and my mom is currently dying of a brain tumour. Have been doing a lot of reflecting on what it means to have and lose someone, and how understanding that nothing is promised to us helps or hurts depending on the day, and this song popped back into my head because what else is a "little bit of everything" more than that? Thanks so much for listening to it, it's definitely one of those quietly impactful ones.

I’m very sorry about your mother. I hope she and you find peace. Thanks for a great request

@Love Wins Thank you for sharing that personal background of your life and what the song meant/means to you. I am so sorry that you are going through this with your mother. I went through it with my mother three years ago and it was rough. I'll be thinking about you and hoping for some good moments between your mom and you in the days to come.

@onthealbum, I'm sure Taylor and all the boys would be moved and glad their music was able to be of some comfort to you.
      Peace.

I have always loved this song but never thought how I'd rate it. I think you're right it is a 10.

First, thank you Bethany for this outstanding request. I'm so sorry to hear that you're going through such a sorrowful time with your mother. We only have one mother, and having experienced your pain, my heart goes out to you. Just love each other as much and as often as you can with both actions and words. You won't regret any of it and you'll have these times to help you heal. You'll both be in my prayers.
As for the song - if I could give a rating it would a 10+. Between the lyrics, the vocal and subtle instrumental backing, it was simple (but very impactful) and intimately beautiful. It touched me on all levels. I've been, as Don suggested, in the past, present and future depicted in this song - literally. I don't think I've heard a song that touched me so deeply in a long time, if ever. The closest I can come to this is "Monsters" by James Blunt. I really have to check out more songs by Dawes.
Thank you again, Bethany for sharing this and to Don for getting through it with thoughtfulness and a beautiful reaction.

I guess I count myself a Dawes fan. I don't really know much except I haven't heard something I wouldn't want to hear again. I've played Dawes songs randomly on a Sunday morning and the ear honey doesn't stop. My Wife loves them too, and she knows less about them than I do.
So I had to edit; the first Dawes song (hooked me easy) I heard was "All Your Favorite Bands".

There are few songs that have just stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard them but this song is one of them. Thank you for this terrific solo acoustic version as I had never heard it before although I still prefer the album version.

When you know the song, and watch people's first time reaction, it's like observing someone see the Mona Lisa for the first time. Priceless. Love the impromptu "holy cow!"

@Talbot Davis Thank you for the kind words! I'm also thinking I'm glad I wasn't like an Andy Warhol or even an occasional Salvador Dali. :-)

@@RockN2Country 1. The full instrumental version of "Everything" is even better and more anthemic. Would love you to respond to this other effort, equally pitch perfect and vignette centered, from same band: ruclips.net/video/NwNy6KSG5Q0/видео.html
