    This recipe was my introduction to your channel. A friend told me about how she and her sisters would snack on hummus and muhammara her mom and aunties would make for the kids (muhammara was her favorite).
    Happily, your video was one of the first I found when Googling for recipes, and I've been enjoying your channel ever since. I think I've made about five of your dishes so far, and they've all been delicious. Your videos are both entertaining and educational, and are much appreciated.

    Would of loved to visted Syria firsthand and seen its amazing architecture and experianced its food, people and culture. Such an amazing place scarred beyond recognition, thoose poor people, the whole of humanity wreels from what has happened and is happening there.

      One of my biggest regrets is to not have visited Syria, have always wanted to visit to see the beautiful antiquity, people, architecture, etc. It was such a gorgeous country destroyed by some of the most evil people on this planet. I truly hope this country will rise again to its former glory.

    This looks good, and I would use red chili powder instead of paprika for the heat. we roast several red (or orange or yellow) bell peppers every week, and thus I have never understood buying jarred with all the added preservatives and such. Also, there is no need to coat the peppers in olive (or any other) oil before roasting them. The important step is to put the roasted peppers into a paper bag or other closed container for maybe 10 minutes before peeling the skins, which then come right off. Some other versions of this recipe suggest using sumac, though others indicate that sumac and tomato paste are used for the Lebanese version (not Syrian) of this dish. Never seen the pomegranate molasses before, but I am sure it it available at markers in Dearborn.

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  3 года назад +1

      Yes the jarred one I used had no preservatives, but certainly people should check the ingredients if they want to use this shortcut. Pomegranate molasses is a game changer--I use it for so many recipes and vital for this recipe. And if you like heat, red pepper would be great for this recipe, or Aleppo pepper as well.

      Pomegranate molasses is really a key ingredient in making this dip--if they don't sell them in your area, you can buy it online: amzn.to/3lnuTxp You can try to make the dip by omitting it all together, unless you can find a molasses syrup that has both sweet and sour notes to it.

    @iyouitry 3 года назад +1

    I do not get it why so many recipes used bread crumbs while the original recipe calls for Bulgur. Recently some people started using quinoa for those who can not tolerate gluten. By the way we always highly recommended soaking the walnuts overnight before using them in this recipe.

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  3 года назад

      I use breadcrumbs because my Syrian friend's mother used it and I loved her version. Yes I believe soaking the walnuts makes them more digestible, but I love the nutty flavor of toasted walnuts. Never tried it with bulgur, sounds interesting!

  • @0000AT
    @0000AT 5 лет назад

    Why do you need to add bread crumbs? Doesn’t it get soggy? The dip is thick anyways..

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  5 лет назад

      It absorbs the flavors and holds the dip better. Without it the walnuts will separate from the oil, kind of like chunky peanut butter in a jar. But you can leave it out if you wish.

      I am a Palestinian Christian, descended from the original Christians of the holy land, literally from Bethlehem where Jesus was born. You are so bigoted that you think I don’t even believe in Jesus and support the people that kill Palestinian Christians. Thou shalt not kill. Jesus came for a reason, and you support the Pharisees. And what does your comment have to do with me making a dip?!

      Then maybe vegans shouldn't watch RUclips videos if you're so sensitive that mentioning an animal offends you. About 95% or more of the world population is not vegan. Maybe you should start a Vegan RUclips so you and your fellow vegans won't ever have to listen to some who doesn't choose the same lifestyle that you have. Triggered...
