This guy helped me through the lockdowns and several rounds of 14 day quarantine with this band training and I still incorporate band training in my regular workouts to this day. Thank you James.
Thank you for this! I struggle with keeping my arms straight and my form and I have crunching in my shoulder because of my form. With this there is no crunching, I’m not left in pain and I can feel the burn in the area I’m suppose to. I did have to lower my band weight but I’m trying to perfect my form more so it works. Thanks again man
Bands are the best for a rear delt pump! I feel like rear and side delts are hard to get the mind muscle connection with, but with a band you feel it easier. I like to do 5 reps then iso hold the contraction for 5 secs do another 5 reps iso hold for 5 secs then do a final 5 reps and hold that last reps contracted postion for 10 to 20 seconds which should be just about failure. Thanks James for the tips
Extending the arms makes sense to isolate the rear delts, but will necessitate using a much light (fitness) weight since the farther you move away from your core, the harder the weight will be to lift. To make matters worse, I have a 78" wingspan, and a shoulder mobility impediment that prevents me from doing that movement very well. Nevertheless, I persevere as best I can. So much for being tall doesn't matter. Great tutorial.
Love it 👍... I kind of discovered this exercise through my own experiments ( I didn't invent it of course ) but this video has shown me how to do it better 👍
I like band face pulls with a tricep pushdown rope clipped to the band so I can pull back beyond the face for full range of motion. These fry the rear delts. I don't have a cable machine in my garage, so these work well for me.
The trick to training rear delts is lighter weight higher rep range. Drop the ego and lower the weights so your can efficiently load and isolate the rear delts. Using a heavier weight with cheating reps will put primary focus on lats.
James, have you ever had a band snap mid workout or personally sustained any injuries? I can't help but flinch any time the band is close to my face, and I've read stories of people literally losing eyes or having permanent vision damage from bands snapping at high resistance levels and smacking against their face. It sounds silly but I can't help but shake the fear and I just wanted to gather your thoughts as to whether it's a valid concern or if you take any precautions?
@@reneee.6076 Sorry. Someone told me to be careful with them snapping and I laughed at first, but then read some articles about people who sustained serious injuries. One guy had a heavy duty band snap and it left a massive bruise on his leg, another guy had one snap against his hand and it gave him permanent nerve damage and required surgery. I suggest you DON'T Google "resistance band eye injury" if you don't want to feel more anxiety like I do now, 😭😂
@@thatsGQ This is true but I feel like with weights if they break they don't come flying at you full speed with many pounds of resistance force. Not saying you can't sustain serious injuries (especially with heavy compound exercises like squats etc) but like, if you're doing a curl and the dumbbell breaks, the other half of the dumbbell isn't going to fly back at you full speed like a ricochet. 😂 I really like working out with bands, I just can't help but shake my newfound fears about them.
Had a similar fear. Then I stumbled upon some article that said a band should not be stretched more than one and a half times it’s length from the anchor. So I try to stick to that while using bands. Hope this helps!
Resistence bands as I understand serves very well for maintaining muscles. But can a beginner who just started out gain some muscles with resistence bands?
Dude your the fuckimg best man and I’m going to aspire to your physique man. I just started watching more and more videos. I have a question how long have you been training with bands? And also do you train with only bands?
he has some vids working the arms different ways (curl, hammer, etc.). If you do some exercises that entail pulling up, but with your palms facing more towards the ground, you'll be working the forearms. And after just a couple of weeks of doing bands, where you have to grip them tight, that too naturally works the forearms more than regular weights.
You need to produce more bands, they are sold out everywhere.... And no i want nobody here linking me other brands... i want the Undersun :D I live in Belgium btw , and looking at the Netherlands where gyms are closed till 1 September, it doesn't look good here either ;)
I understand you... unfortunately, I couldn't wait and I got them from a different brand... but I think James' band are top of the line. But i'm sure I'll buy the gloves and the outdoor anchor from undersun, because they are really game changers (and also because my hands are crying without gloves)
I have a pack of bands with the handles but wanna try the bands you use but don’t want to buy them all. Which size would you recommend? I’m not a newcomer to training so I have a decent strength level already.
I have a question? I am doing the hiit workout. I love the workout. I just started it last week. I am not bored with it. It is very intense. However I just started exercising after not exercising for years. Will Hiit build muscle??? I am 5' 10" and 215 lbs. I do not care much about getting bigger. I just want to feel better. HIIT I feel great when I am done. But a lot of people say bulk first then cut. What is your advice on this subject?
James, I'm having trouble ordering your bands from your site due to various pricing and emails your customer support but not much help from that particular person. I don't want to be negative or bitchy but who can I REALLY talk to for a resolution and not back and forth emails?
some of these clips could have taken at least half of time to carry out the message. the point is, do NOT move your shoulder plats when making the movement ! that is all its about ! thanks
The world needs you now james grage

Trust me on this one, you're gonna want to use the extra light band. There will be pain, the good kind.
Very true ✅
I will try it soon and think about your comment ;)
I did these last night and i used the light band and man it was pain
Well thank god I have a single band that is super heavy
That's so true, it really hurts 😂😂😂😂

Thanks for all the great material James! Resistance bands have taken my workout regime to a whole new level.
Thanks for all the videos! These help me stay in shape during the pandemic. Bands + body weight!

I mean you Dont wannna make it too easy right?
lol anyone exercising with a rubber band has already dropped the ego
One of my trouble areas very hard to connect. This video is great
sheesh found gold! rear delta bout to blow up
Let's get it!
Best burn I've ever felt in my rear delts, thanks!
Great video, James.
Thanks James, that was certainly a good tip.
Hi James, just joined your channel, got myself some bands on Friday and did your chest routine! Do you have a Triceps video?
Very useful tip. Thanks mate.
Perfect explanation!
Awesome gonna try this tomorrow 👍 thanks

Its only rear delts?
Hi ,could you please share tips about forearm ( either flexors or extentors) workout , thank you .
Thanks for the detailed insight
Now thats a good trick. Ty mate
When will those bands go to Amazon?
Can you do this lying on the ground instead of the wall or is standing up more effective?
you can do that it's okay. Standing just makes it feel more natural. but do what makes you feel connect more to your delts
Resistence bands as I understand serves very well for maintaining muscles. But can a beginner who just started out gain some muscles with resistence bands?
Definitely yes
Can i use dumbells instead?

elrawhany u want to bring your arms straight to the sides and the band will be towards the bottom of your neck, far upper chest areas
Seen you 2 weeks ago and i use to hate bands but now I love them and pray to it😂
Nice one
I have a pack of bands with the handles but wanna try the bands you use but don’t want to buy them all. Which size would you recommend? I’m not a newcomer to training so I have a decent strength level already.
Start with the medium one
It's the only one i have so far, and i love it. I plan to order all of them now.
I live in Canada I ordered my bands been waiting for like 3 weeks how long will it come?????
I’m in Canada as well... shipping delays due to the pandemic caused mine to come a full 2 weeks later than the expected delivery.
Are these and face pulls enough for rear delts?
yes
Is it still effective if I do it while lying on the floor?
Yes, you can perform this trick while laying down as well as standing up against a wall or steady surface.
@@JamesGrageUndersunFitness Thank you for answering!!!
And I tried doing it your way
today, and it felt much more effective than using dumbbells.
