    AR 15s of any type aren't allowed in my Bass Pro Shops in San Jose, California. The rifle laws here are so onerous that Bass Pro won't even allow you to bring in your rifle to have a scope mounted on it because its a "dangerous weapon."

      @rfross771 6 лет назад

      I had an interesting perspective on ammunition given to me. Maybe you can tell me what you think. I carry golden saber which I understand is not necessarily the best defensive round but..... in a defensive shooting if you are found to be carrying something like rip, or other more technical rounds the perception of a jury or a police officer is that you were strictly speaking intending to kill your target rather than "stop the threat" the reason I chose golden saber is it is one of the few defensive rounds that police officers are allowed to carry. So the answer to a jury or a police officer or a prosecuting attorney's questions could include the fact that you didn't carry any ammunition that the police can't carry.....? I mean to be realistic in any defensive shooting you were going to spend time in jail until they sort it out, this isn't the movies. So the easier you can make the process on a police officer in terms of questions to be answered I suppose the less time you will spend in jail.....? What do you think does that make sense?

    • @rfross771
      @rfross771 6 лет назад

      Prior to this I carried so much more technical ammunition, and I always figured that if I had to deploy my weapon in defense of my life that I would be around to answer any questions afterwards but seeing what a litiginous Society we live in and seeing the rise of defensive Shooters being prosecuted and used as an example of why the Second Amendment needs to be repealed kind of changed my perspective. I don't want to do anything to make some gun grabbing douchebags point-of-view more "valid". And I say that with a huge amount of Dripping sarcasm because their point of view is completely invalid and if they think taking away law-abiding citizens weapons is a great idea they should look at the UK and Australia and the rise of other violent crimes which include the fact that in Australia there are four times as many rapes and violent assaults as there were before they grabbed guns. And the fact that in the UK there have been 4700 fatal stabbings in 2018 alone and their crime in comparison to the US has risen astronomically to the point where there are approximately 120 times more violent assaults than there are here in the US ...... which proves a point that has been valid since the beginning of time across every predatory species on this planet. Predators don't like prey that can fight back and injure them. Therefore there are more likely to attack something that they perceive to be helpless. And that's true of any species not just humans. Ps..... the mayor of London is now putting forth laws to ban knives and has said in the public Arena on video that there is " absolutely no reason why a member of the public should be carrying a knife".....

    On the amount of Ruger firearms in Bass Pro.
    No, it's the same in ALL of the Florida Bass Pro Shops. The LCP was the biggest selling pistol for a long time.
    The amount of AR platform rifles is consistent with what I've seen recently, but it's the same amount no matter the size of the display area. One rack of defensive firearms with a varying amount of F̶u̶d̶d uhh... "sporting" long guns.

    Went to the Pyramid Bass Pro Shops in Memphis a while back and they had a whole Beretta mini store next to the hunting section. About 10 styles of handguns and a mess load of overpriced clothing and accessories. Not a Beretta guy myself and the price tag to practicality ratio tends to be my reasoning. I stand true to my good ole’ gen4 g19.

    That selection of pistols is pretty common from what I have seen at Bass pro. Same thing at the ones here in Texas. Im guessing it's price driven and not really what is higher quality.

    You can defensive ammo there of course Johnny Boy!!! I mean John Candy lol I've found a few things there and since they have recently acquired Cabela's it should be a little easier to shop there...

    John I have 2 of those Ascend snap button shirts you pointed out in the beginning of the video. And they are perfect CC shirts for me down here in South Florida. I like them more than the 5.11 “gray-ish” line (maybe Covert idk.) I wish I could find more prints.

    You were close to my stomping grounds. I've spent WAY too much money in that Bass Pro Shops store. LOL! Ruger is a hot item with a lot of folks around here for some reason. I prefer SIg myself. Iowa and Nebraska are definitely big on hunting culture so a lot of shotguns (most of our hunting seasons involve shotgun) and a few rifles. Hope you enjoyed your short visit to the area.

    Tons of good defensive guns and ammo at the BPS in Nashville TN, but they are real proud of these and charge out the ass for it. Of course I only buy guns online now anyway. But I guess someone is buy the BPS stuff.

    In answer to your question about the Ruger "overage" no that is not local when I lived in the Denver metro area the overwhelming representation in the defensive gun case was Ruger and in fact even in a city of 4 million there was almost no H&K product sometimes they were completely out there was a lot of khar and Kimber as well but the majority of their product was Ruger

    If you have time to hunt, you have time to go fishing. Treat yourself to a boat. I suggest slightly used. Cheaper than new. Plus I suggest a fishing pontoon with fishing chairs in front and back. Perfect for spending time with your family.

    You seem to have a problem with Ruger. I don't understand. I think they're pretty great, especially the SR9c and the SR22.
