    Mike you˙re a awesome person. I˙ve been looking for this kind of tutorial, even though I am technically skilled. My girlfriend is starting her own podcast and she was wondering about recording 2 USB mics in 2 different tracks. Now, we have a solution, so we are waiting for delivery of 2nd mic and we are good to go for recording her podcast. Thank you and cheers from Slovakia!

    This is gold!! Thanks so much! How about if I'm doing a video podcast. Would I just record the video separately and then edit it all together? or is there a smooth way to connect a camera into all this. thanks!

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  2 года назад +1

      There's no definitive answer to this. How you record depends on how you want to record. You'd be best using something like OBS Studio where you can configure your camera and your mic to be recorded into a video file. Alternatively you can record the video using the default audio and record the audio separately. I wouldn't recommend this however as you'd have to clap at the start to have a point to line up to and sometimes, if it's a long recording, audio and video can run out of sync due to frame rate conversions.
      How you connect your camera in depends on what camera you're using.

    • @MikeRussell

      Unfortunately, it is not possible to directly connect and use two Yeti microphones on an iPhone. The iPhone's hardware and software limitations do not allow for multiple USB audio inputs simultaneously. Binaural effects would also need a special setup.

    My goal is to use my iPhone 15 pro as the camera for a vlog/podcast (guest interview style). I have 2 Blue Yeti x mics. (Host/guest)
    The Blackmagic app recognizes the 2 Yeti I mics but is only picking up sound from one mic. Mics are plugged into a Lention 10gbps hub. Hub directly to phone.
    I want a portable studio I can take on the road/airline etc and just one pelican case. Trying to keep the parts to a minimum.
    Am I doing something wrong??

      It sounds like you may be experiencing a software limitation with the Blackmagic app recognizing both Blue Yeti X mics - try using a USB audio interface like the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to connect both mics to your iPhone for better compatibility.

    I notice on your "Audio Device" window, there are 4 devices and each has a 2 in/ 0 out or a 0 in / 2 out function. I just purchased one today that has a 2/2 whereas my other has what you have (2/0 and 0/2). Is there a reason for this?

    • @MikeRussell
      @MikeRussell  11 месяцев назад

      The 2 in/0 out or 0 in/2 out configurations are specialized for either input or output, while a 2/2 device can handle both simultaneously. A 2/2 setup offers more flexibility, especially if you're working on complex audio routing tasks.

I'm using my PC and I'm attempting to get both microphones assigned to separate channels in Voicemeeter Banana. I plug the first microphone in and successfully assign it to A1 in Voicemeeter. I then plug in the second Fefine to a different USB port, attempting to assign that one to A2 in a Voicemeeter, but since they show up/the description of the microphones is the same, it makes even more difficult. No matter what I do, I can't get the second microphone I plug in to be recognized by the computer. I'm now also getting a message that there's "bad audio driver installation detected". I assume that's directly related to Voicemeeter because that's when the warning pops-up, not when I plug in a microphone. I Uninstaller Voicemeeter and reinstalled, of course shutting down and rebooting in between, but still no luck. What I've also done is given the first microphone I plug in a specific name to help differentiate between the two since they're the same, but what happens is when I open my computer sound settings and plug in either microphone, the computer is recognizing it as the one given the special name. When I plug in both microphones at the same time, the audio settings recognize them as only one microphone! Any help I'd greatly appreciated.
