I tried everything down to the last minute detail but neither OBS nor Shadowplay capture LosslessScalling.
@@TheAviationChannel. I recently found out that woth shadow play if you turn off desktop capture it will record with lossless scaling. Have you tried that method instead?
@@DrishalMAC2 yes I have tried that, desktop capture would automatically just turn off when lossless scaling was turned on. The normal capture doesn't record the scaled frames.
The only other way I know is using OBS as I showed in this video and it always works well for me. So for you OBS isn't capturing lossless at all?
@@DrishalMAC2 not at all. I've tried using the same obs version as yours and the newer version neither capture lossless frames. Just the original laggy gameplay, and it's on MSFS so I'm guessing it's something to do with that and not lossless maybe?
As long as you have a game capture set to capture lossless specifically and have transparency enabled. And then have that above your display or game capture for the msfs windows. It should work just fine. If you want you can dm me on discord and I could assist you further there as its easier than the youtube comments section :)
For no reason, I record with OBS and Lossless scaling with no problems. But when I look into the replay, it lags very badly. Don't know why, but I never had that issue in the first place.
Does the recording lag when not using lossless scaling?
@DrishalMAC2 Yes, also... but if I upload the lagged video in draft (it doesn't matter what visibility), the footage is normal without any single lags. It may be my computer, the OBS set up, or something...
Yes it seems like it's possibly your pc lagging when playing it.
I hope so, because I notice lag when making an attempt to edit a video in capcut.
Yes unless you have a powerful ish PC, video editing can be quite laggy at times.

thanks a lot, i was leaving lossless scalling window on top before i watched the tutorial, now i get that you MUST not leave it on screen and not minimize as i was doing so,
kinda bad that you have these extra steps just to make a recording but it's better than nothing, thanks a lot mate!
No worries at all :) it's a bit fiddly just for recording I agree but I'm loving flying at over 100fps haha :)
When I use OBS it uncaps my frames, and it shows weird numbwrs like 120/144 or when playing media shows like 70/75. Its buttery smooth at 30/60 when not capturing using OBS.
Are you sure your not scaling OBS rather than your sim / game? OBS shouldn't affect whether or not your frames are capped for your game or simulator. When playing media in OBS you should even see lossless scaling as you aren't scaling the media. Hope this helps and feel free to ask any more questions :)
With lossless scaling Frame Generation active in the background, RTSS still shows the base frame rate and not the 120/144 or whatever high refresh rate you set it to!

Of course, Riva Tuner tries to find a DirectX app, not the Lossless Scaling. You can enable "Show FPS" in the Lossless Scaling instead of Riva Tuner.
Yes, the new fps will only be shown in Lossless scaling. External fps counters won't pick up the frame gen frames

Did you setup the game capture to record lossless scaling?
@@DrishalMAC2 i figured it out, you have to run obs as an administrator to capture lossless for some reason

lmao can I stream on discord? Discord does not transmit 60fps, and the game in the transmission is only seen at 30fps (base game with 30fps).
As far as I know no. You can only stream through OBS :)
I've flyin with it since 2 days, & it's really incredible.
But I am a streamer, and there is aboslutely no options, to leave the Game Capture Window, without getting black screen, or paused on OBS.
That's really annoying.
your audience, can't juste appreciate the experience like the Streamer.
The way I get around this is by setting up another scene with just a display capture so when i want to show something else on stream I just switch the scene :) it's definitely not ideal but works for me

And when you mean switch scene from Game Capture to Display Capture, u do that with keyboard bindings, to avoid problems with Alt Tab ?
I use an app called OBS Blade to switch screens on a tablet. Or you could use keybindings too

Is there any recording software that could work? Obs is too heavy for my device 😅
Unfortunately I don't know of any other recording software that may work. I've found OBS to be quite lightweight considering how versatile it is :)

Yeah,OBS is great + its free, the only problem with OBS is sometimes it does framedrop that make the recording result a bit laggy/stuttering for a few seconds even though i set the process priority to "High" For example, when i watch my recording results on 60fps game, suddenly the fps dropped to around 30-40fps for 3-5 seconds then it returns to 60fps and it will dropped again in maybe 3 minutes. Or the fps is not Constant for short. Thats my only problem with OBS, and that's why i use other software that have CFR (Constant Frame Rate)

Dude, at 0:57 you just skip most imporant settings... What is your output recorded video target FPS?
Output is whatever you want it to be. In most cases 60fps for youtube.

Great vid thanks! I have a problem w autoortho and its that the xplane roads are left and it makes the game look so bad do u know how to fix?
Do you mean that you can still see roads? That's how ortho works. It's underneath all objects and autogen, including roads. You might be able to use a plugin like x-roads or something remove those roads

Do you know how to do a transmission on Discord with it? Every time I activate Losless it gets paused.
I don't think it will work with a discord stream unfortunately.

I believe I tried using shadowplay with desktop capture on and off and both did not work. I can take a look again but for me OBS works very well :)
@@DrishalMAC2Yeah, maybe in old ls versions that can't work. But on 2.9 this work at least for me)

It's weird. I'm not sure why it only works for some people but I've seen some people say that running lossless scaling as administrator helps

I've downloaded and installed on C: drive and configured it as you suggested , but when I open X-Plane 12 it does not show up on near my frame rate indicator. Suggestions please thanks
Is this for lossless scaling or OBS. Just to be sure. Lossless scaling is working but you can't record it? Is that correct?
