Great kit! I used 2 of them. I have installed 2 extra batteries using these kits. Each one took me 15 or 20 minutes. Simple, easy, and works without problems. With 3 batteries my speed and distance have been increased a lot. Speed 39.4 miles an hour. “throttle only”. Distance over 150 miles. Set on level 3 most of the time.
Hi, I’d be interested in how you did this. Could I see a photo. Also, did u have to attach more discharge converters as I’m not sure how u could fit more than 1 in that type of frame
Just purchased the kit from amazon which outlined where the connections go very nicely with a chart. Also ordered the 48v 20ah battery so cant wait for them to come! Update: Received the dual balancer kit today and just installed it, without the second battery atm as it is arriving in a couple of days. Had to install the balancer outside the frame as it would not fit, going to secure it with zipties and also some black tape to make sure it doesnt move while i go for a test ride! my ebike is euy auloor all terrain. Final Update: Did a 23mile ride going 15~20mph, and didnt have any issues! just need to wait for the secondary battery now, thank you so much!
Haha, saw your apology for the rain noise during the video and had to laugh as I am watching this under a metal gazebo roof in the rain. Great video, the perfect install spot for a 2nd battery, may have to do this.
Do I need the 20amp or 40amp kit? Just have the EP-2 Pro and stock battery... but looking into maybe buying a very large capacity battery (or two) for long range, and maybe use your product with it. Also, maybe this is a goofy question, but will the key ignition still work if the center of the bike does not have the original battery, but is powered elsewhere? I am assuming it will just turn on without a key... If there's anything else I should know or any other limitations of the bike, controller upgrades you might recommend or whatever, please let me know
The 40A kit will work no problem. If the key is an on/off switch for the battery it will no longer work that way if you add a second battery. You will use the display as the on/off switch.
Hi, do you know when you expect to get your new kit back in stock? I have an Engwe Pro 2 which also uses the "T" style deans plug. I believe I would need a 30a model instead of the 20a the older pro 2 used. Please advise. Thanks!
hi there. great video. I live in the u.k and own a brand new engwe engine x with the 48v 13ah battery. I know I wouldn't be able to have the battery way down where you have it because of the suspension. luckily I have a topeak explorer bag which I modified the adapter to make it fit the chunky rear rack. I could put a battery in the top compartment and use velcro to make sure it doesn't move about. I like the balancer kit as it has everything I need. what sort of battery would you recommend? and could the kit be shipped to the u.k?
Please note, the balancer does NOT work with the regenerative braking feature. For a second battery just ensure you match your system voltage rating (48V) and can connect to XT60. Your battery will depend on your budget and needs. Yes we do ship to UK. All warranty replacements shipping costs will be paid by purchaser.
@ElectricAllWheel that's OK. The engine x doesn't have regen. it's a u.k road legal ebike 250w pas>15.5mph. I really like the bike it's effortless to ride and has a really torquey motor too. I've already spent a small fortune on the bag, 11/34 freewheel, litepro crankset, indicators, rearview mirrors, 203mm rotor with adapter. anyway thanks for the speedy reply and take care 😊👏
@@simonjohnhinton1938 sounds good. We have yet to have a warranty item issue with overseas shipment, but it is a caveat to that action. Keep in mind, the battery is only voltage dependent. amp hours Ah depend on your budget and desired range
I'm thinking of getting a 48v 10ah battery that fits nicely inside a waterproof bag that can hang underneath the saddle. It has the xt60 connector but I want to install an isolator or on/off switch so I don't have to unplug it. What would you recommend and could you send me a link please. I would be ever so grateful as I want it to be safe that's why I bought your kit.
@@simonjohnhinton1938 Engwe has a replacement Rear Rack + Rear Battery combo that fits the engine x for presale. The supplied battery fits into the rear rack and has led charge indicator built in. An equalizer is included and a rear light is built into the 13ah battery.
You don’t want to hook up batteries that differ in voltages from the system for the sake of optimization. However the balancer will work with paired battery voltages up to 72V
@@RedzalioI bought it with him, he recommended the 20 amp balancer and I put the 48 v 15 amp Hilong battery in it. The total is 28 amps with the 12.8 amp battery from the factory, they charge at 52.8 v and get an extra couple of miles on speed,
Actually just doesn’t ship to Uk, don’t suppose you know of any that do? I have family in the States so might have it shipped to them to have it delivered to me otherwise
That's great, but I prefer it to be cheaper to buy another battery, from the same Engwe brand, than to make those inventions, in short, I can't spend more than half an hour on the bike, so it doesn't matter to me when it's wearing out. one, I stop and put the other on.I did the math, and I saw why I have an engwe ep 2pro, and a battery for that ebike is cheaper than buying the entire kit plus the battery. If I have to do that to have more autonomy, I don't see the point of it, in Amazon battery 48v 10ah $228
