A quick guide of how to enable the throttle accelerator for the new ENGWE ENGINE X eBike.
Looking like the ENGWE ENGINE PRO, the new ENGINE X model has a very smart trick. You are aware that bikes sold in the EU "should" have 250W power and to only work in assisted mode (no throttle). Well we also know that 250W is slow, weak and we also like accelerators when we are on "private roads". So ENGWE solved this, they made the X mode that comes with just "250W" power and a non-working throttle. With a bit of "magic" you can change the controller settings and the bike will ramp up to ~1000W top power, while the accelerator would be enabled! So you can now have a bike for both words, EU compliant and of course FUN compliant. Because the bike is also sold to EU and there is should be restricted. The advanced settings and unlocking is not for everyone as there are a lot of pople changing other settings they should not ending in getting an nonworking bike or killing the battery.

Thank you i was going nuts i just bought the enguie m20 and its a newer version has an assisted start ,comes with a proper uk plug now lol etc for a while i thought they had made it peddle assist only to comply better with UK laws 🤬

The only difference with C20 Pro is that the display does not show "ERROR 22" when holding throttle+brake. But after doing the steps the throttle will still be unlocked.

It's somewhere in the 50-85Nm range.

I would like to know: how the Engine X performs going uphill locked to 250 watts, speed limit 25kph and the throttle not engaged; how it does uphill with the speed unlocked and then with both the speed limit unlocked and the throttle enabled.
I would prefer not to unlock it from it's factory default settings. However, I am 17 stone and live in a hilly town so am concerned that the factory settings might not be good enough for me.

I can see on your other video that it can be unlocked tonanmax of 60 kmh. Which could also be 45 kmh. But is it possible to adjust the throttle to a certain speed, let's say assist to 25 kmh, even though the bike can go the 45 kmh?
The bike has default 5 electric "gears", each as a speed and power ratio limit, so 1st gear is ~10km/h, 2nd is 18km/h, 3rd is 25km/h, 4th is 35km/h and 5th is unlimited. So both assist & throttle is limited to the gear ratio. The throttle is also fully proportional so on 5th gear you can ride it from ~10km/h up to maximum of 45+km/h. You can see a lot more details about this in my full review about this bike. Just look it up my channel.

It should still work, is it the same LCD model on your bike?

How do you turn up the sensitivity on the throttle? Is there any way to get rid of the delay in the throttle?
There is no option for that.
Is there anyway to set it to where it only goes to 6km to go along with eu laws??
Yes, disable the throttle and use the "-" button for 5-6km/h walk assist mode.
Do you know if this can be actived / deactivated while rolling mid ride incase I get pulled over, then it can be easily turned off while coming to a slow stop
No, it can not be enabled / disabled on the go. Only stationary and only like in this video.

When turning on the bike you can see on the screen that there is an actual battery % next to the meter. Any idea how to turn that on??
That is just the LCD model, what it is displayed it's actually embedded in the LCD controller and in the bike controller. In short it's not possible on this model.

Speed limit should be the same. Don't know if the throttle will work.

I think it's possible. You should first disable it from settings, then you can unplug it and see if you get any error codes.
I need help finding a solution to reduce power to 250W due to legal rules in the EU. Would you happen to know if this is a hidden option in the menu?
If you have the X model then is like in this video (and the other one related tot this), you just need to restrict it back to 25km/h and disable throttle.
hi,question please for cruse control, i deactivate the little heart logo on the display, but it not work really, if i hold the throttle at mode 5 high speed electric mode only more than 3-4 sec, the cruse is always on, i need to push rear brake 1 time for deactivate , if someone finds a way to deactivate completely cruse control come here to tell us , it's not that little heart logo that changes anything, whether it's on or not
There is an option in the hidden advanced settings to disable cruise control.
Bought the same bike Engwe Engine x last week and the throttle is already working up to 6/7 kilometers but no way i can set the speed up to 60 kilometer...its just staying at 25 km
How long can we ride on Engwe ep-2 pro ....I have 4000km+...should I sell it or not! Need fair opinions
It's all down to care and maintenance, if you keep the bike in good conditions it can work for a lot more time.

The same way as it is enabled, for the speed just put25km/h instead of high speed.

The motor says 250W on the C20 Pro but they say it is actually 500W. Do you know how to unlock this extra power?
I only have the regular C20 (non pro) and I don't know how and if it's possible to unlock your model as it has a different controller and it has a display.
How is this bike 250 watt yet able to do such speeds?
Speed is not related only power. The equation is more complex and it is related also to the motor windings and system voltage.
Is it the same for T4?
I didn't have a T4 so can't advise you.
Can you please make a new one the software changed and I get error 25 instead of error 22 when activating throttle. And when I try to remove the speed limit the 25 won’t go up 😢
I haven't tested the new model yet so can't advise on how to do it.

It **might** work, as both use similar motor controller and both use same brand Yolin display, but I'm not 100% sure.

Yes, with throttle disabled it works like a normal ebike.
