Very informative and detailed work, good job! .. Regarding the freewheel, could you please share a Shimano alternative amazon link, the DNP is a bit pricey!

@@SFARCO I’m so sorry to bother you with another question. But when you drilled out the handlebars, did you use a drill press or did you just use a drill and clamp it down?
@@patrickdavis7238 Not a bother at all. You want to keep it as straight as possible. A small angle can cause you blow out the side. That being said, I'm pretty sure I did it by hand, lol! Either way you do it, take it real slow and check your progress.
Really great job on the upgrades, I went for the bmx style handle bars and bought a large bar light from ali express and a melian Cute eye back light which has a Bluetooth indicator opinion. Currently looking at new tyres for my engwe pro, any thoughts on slick tyres v knobby ones ? I ride mostly on tarmac. Kind regards from Ireland btw
Thanks! It looks good with bmx handles, I have seen some like that. I bet you would be fine with slicks or knobby on tarmac. Slicks would give a smoother ride.
Hey @SFARCO! You inspired me to get the Lezyne front lights and they just came in today. But my question is how you managed to connect them to your controller? Because the input for the light cables on the controller are red, black and yellow but the Lezyne lights only came with 2 cables (red and black)… I hope you can help me since I’m not really an experienced electrician ✌🏼
Are you connecting one light or two? I would recommend only one. When I had both connected, the controller kept turning one of the lights off. Next question, which lezyne light did you get? But essentially, the black wires go together, and the red wires go together. The yellow wire from the controller is for the horn that is in the original light.
@@SFARCO I’m connecting only 1 and I got the “LEZYNE E-Bike Macro Drive 1000 lumens Front Light”. So I did connect the cables as you said but the light simply doesn’t turn on at all when I push the on/off button on the light itself…
Back again, getting sick of me yet? 😅 I didn't get the tubeless done last time, but I did get into the motor this time for a look and a regrease, and switched my cassette out for a better one :)
No, not sick of you at all! I am really glad my video is beneficial to you. How did the motor look inside? Well greased from the factory, or not so much?
@@SFARCO surprisingly well greased, actually. Though that didn't stop me from putting some more in. I was opening it up because I've been having some absolutely horrific grinding noises and they seem to be coming from the motor, but the gears and the magnets all seem okay. I love this bike, but it drives me nuts some times 😅
Some great upgrades! Have you considered swapping out the thumb throttle for a full or half twist throttle? That's something I've been considerring but not sure how easy it would be. I've also considered replacing the front wheel with a powered version (maybe a 500w motor) and retaining the existing thumb throttle for the front, just to give extra performance when needed to get up the steeper hills. Would be great if anyone knows a powered front wheel option with a similar spoke pattern to the existing rear.
Thanks! I like the half twist or full twist, but I also like the custom grips that I put on the bike. I have looked into a front hub motor on a mag wheel. So far, all I have found are 170mm fork opening, not 135mm, which is what is needed. There are options for the 135 if you don't mind having traditional spokes.

@LilKing420s Yeah it's really annoying when I see good comments disappear like that. But I basically said: I am looking into controller upgrades, but it's early in my research. I don't have a wiring diagram, I traced the wires for what I have done. But real soon I will be releasing a really cool upgrade/accessory for the bike. So stay tuned!
The mounting and parts to fix the front fork is too fast sadly, too see or know wich parts you used. The bike is awesome of course. Buy these front forks without threads are completely new to me. The original fork pipe sticking out is barely 30mm! And clamped down two screws only! Really want to have it way stronger when i fit my Bmx handlebars.
Sorry you found it too fast. This is the first someone had mentioned it. I do try to cover everything as thoroughly as possible. Also, all the parts are listed in the description.
@@SFARCO Nah its ok. I am happy you made this video anyway. These e-bikes / fatbikes are new to me. But I thought they would have the same constructions like bikes and or motorcycles . Which I have been modding since I was a kid. But these "quick mount" style on my fatbike/folding bike is new to me,and apparantly also used on race bikes and bmx bikes. But those have better and or stronger parts. But whats boggling me is , If I remove my handlebars and the high folding tube (or what's it called) the front fork is completely loose! And only 25mm sticks out above the bearing and a small ring. The fork is only held in place with the black handlebar folding stem! No threads to secure the fork with two big ring nuts . Only two hex screws that clamp around that last part of the fork tube to keep the fork in place and to clamp the handlebars to. Such a seriously under engineered weak point. But I have learned a lot more ,thanks to people like yourseld who took the time to make video and their mods.
Looks great, I have an almost identical model (EP2-Pro) and always wondered if I could use another screen. Was your screen plug and play or did you have to change the controller too?
The Bucklos fork comes with two plastic "rings" (one on each side of the fork) between the two crossmembers with each a triangled shape on one side that has three round holes in it from the bottom. Hope you remember and can give me a hint on their purpose. Why did you remove them / not reinstall them?
Those are turning bumpers so the fork doesn't hit your bike frame. In the clip that shows me putting the fork together. I forgot to include them. But I went back and installed them later once I remembered.
Do you think it would be possible to mount an additional headlamp without having to remove the existing one? I'm not much of an electrical guy, don't know if that would disrupt the circuit or whatever if I spliced the same wire to the light with the new headlamp. I don't want to remove the existing one because it has the horn.
Yes, it's possible. However, I have read online that adding powerful lights could cause damage to your controller. I have moved my second light to be wired directly to the battery since it has its own in/off switch. But one time, I was regening down a steep hill, and it took out both my lights and controller. So now I try to only use regen with the lights off.
So the "Big Roc Handlebar Stem, 22.2mm" works perfectly fine with the "Oxmart 22mm Adjustable Motorcycle Handlebars Handle Bar for 125cc Scooter Models"?
The dongle is a USB charging port. I didn't actually change my display this is what my bike came with. I got the bike when it first came out before they upgraded to 16 amp hour batteries and gave it a different display. I believe the display model is KD 986 by the company key display.
Incredible engineering skills, nobody in UK can or will do such mods , wish I lived in 🇺🇸 USA I’d give you whatever you asked in labour to do my bike 😊
@@jasonhiggins6431 I have no idea. This is a hobby for me. Professionally, I own and operate an appliance repair business. Which keeps my schedule full.
Nice build looks good I've got the same bike I was trying to disconnect the speed restriction wire but don't know witch one it is do you know what color the wire is
@whitedaripper5328 Don't know why it slowed down. Maybe something is wearing out. But typically, to get more speed, you would need a more powerful controller.
Wouldn't it be better to route the cables through the fork instead of around it? I missed the opportunity following your video and now I'm unsure whether I should be annoyed by this "mistake" or should be happy about it due to so far unconsidered reasons. ;) (Redoing is not really an option for me because I don't have appropriate tools at home to retighten the clamps. I'm just wondering, if there was a reason.)
It's easier to work on, when/if I need to. Also it has a fair amount of extra length, due to it originally having to reach farther. So this allows them to move around as they need to instead of being bunched funny in one or more spots. Which could lead to premature wire failure.
Thanks, they aren't technically listed as tubeless. But the mag wheels don't have a bunch of holes for spokes, so they basically are tubeless ready. And it's been working great!
Thanks. I got it from Amazon but I had to modify it a bit. I had to shorten the velcro so it stops at the hinge. Really easy to do, I just cut off the extra velcro and stitched the end so it doesn't unravel. amzn.to/3NHkey5
@SFARCO I bought some forks ,and when I removed mine I had to unscrew 2 , 18 mm nuts holding them ,vs small center bolt,I guess I could use them but would need extra parts
cool vid. question is about tube tire vs tubeless. I have a ninebot max clone scooter and on the rear motor wheel the tube blew almost immediately after 3 uses probably poorly installed at factory pinch flat or they use the wrong tube, valve barely fits into rim sideways due to length. its a total bitch to get this tire on it's so tight (getting off not that easy either, and i've changed a lot of bike tubes), i got some long tire levers finally managed to get tire back on with new tube, but even with thick tubes i punctured 2 of em in process of installing, ready to give up and trash the thing. I've used scooter 3 times sitting in garage for 6 weeks. I want to go tubeless , but the coated tubeless tire that "might" fit is like 100 bucks, but it doesnt sound like i even need a "tubeless" tire. The stock tires are thick and tight as hell on the rim, so I'm guessing if i can find a valve that works, it might work? Are you putting the tire sealant in there just in case of punctures, or because the tire isnt a tubeless tire and wont seal well otherwise? I have a bottle of slime, should i use that with the stock tire. I know car tire install they put something around the bead on the rim (is that just the same sealant you use?). Should i just order the valve and see if it works? Im heavy so theres a lot of pressure on the back wheel.
Thanks! A lot of tubed tires will work as tubeless. You do need to buy a new valve stem. The sealant is used even with tubeless ready tires and rims. It helps seal the tire to the rim, and if you get a puncture, it will self seal. What they put on automotive tires is usual just lube to help slide the tire bead over the rim. You will want to use some sealant tape on the inside of the wheel. Gorilla tape works! Hope this helps.
@@SFARCO ok thanks. what makes a tire and a rim "tubeless ready"? I have a bottle of slime, is that good/thick enough? ordered the valve yesterday. I'm not sure where the tape would go on inside of rim or do you think its needed? -- The rim is thick heavy cast alloy (motor wheel 6.5 inch diameter), the tire bead will sit on a 1/2 inch wide lip that's about 1/4 inch down from the (fairly thick) edge of each side of the rim , whereas the center of the wheel is about an inch wide and lower down from the lips. Should i put tape on those lips but i think seating the super tight tire would move the tape anyways, and the wheel probably gets quite hot so would tape last in there ? No spokes solid alloy
@soneeeee4440 Tubeless tires have some minor design changes like the shape of the bead might be different. But I have seen many people use regular tires and not have any issues. As far as your bottle of slime, it depends because there are different types of slime. So you would need the type that is marked for bike tires.
I've been riding this bike for about a month ruclips.net/user/postUgkxwC0IIeIomGQVeBWg-kKJaToZkLEFIA2W and a half now and I think it's fantastic. It helps me get to work on time every day since I'm able to fit it inside of public transportation rush hour. The price is great too, people are always shocked when they ask me how much I paid for the fold up and I tell them "200". It's easy to fold and installation when it ships is insanely easy. All you have to install when the bike arrives is one foot pedal, everything else is done for you. I do recommend you carry some sort of wrench to tighten any loose screws on the handle bar and seat whenever they get a little bit loose. Other than that I think it's a fantastic bike. Easily fits in the home, can fit inside a car trunk and can even fit in subway rush hour.

The tools are basically a metal pipe with an adapter to mate with the race. But honestly, the pvc pipe worked great. It's soft enough to not need an adapter on the race end. Use a press or a good dead blow.
@Saturnino Pizarro Even if you buy a crown setting tool, you will still need a dead blow or press, unfortunately. The size of the pvc pipe depends on the steering tube. But assuming you have a straight tube (same as mine), it is 1.25 inch.

03:52, what sort of tubeless tyres are you using.? The supplied fitted ones with inner tube arent suitable for using as tubeless. Air just blows out at the sides not filling the tyres to make them expand and meet with rims. Hopeless.!
Not a flywheel, a gear cassette, on a freewheel which does not get tightened by the hub motor, only by your pedalling. The motor is in the hub and doesn't use the gears at all. Tyre sealant at that low pressure didn't work for me with a puncture, made a fine mess though. Why you mess up a good folding bike to make an imitation of the M20 is beyond me, why not just buy that? Oh, and all Engwes have brake lights.
Yes. I misspoke when I said the motor would tighten the freewheel more. I meant pedaling, but figured people would understand. And yes it is a freewheel, not a cassette. Also the motor is a geared motor, so it does use gears. The motor doesn't use the freewheel gears, but I never said it did. Why would I buy a second bike when I can customize my own for cheaper and put my own personal touch on it. Ruining it is a matter of opinion, it was pretty ugly before, in my opinion. And no, not all Engwes have brake lights, if that where true, I would have a brake light. But I don't, they cheaped out and installed only tail lights on most of the original Engine Pros. Even though the controller is set up for a brake light. So maybe double check your facts.
That's your opinion, I could spend the time to explain why you are wrong. But instead I think this time would be better spent on you, and why you are angry with you life to the point that you need to take it out on people you don't even know. I think some self reflection would be beneficial.
For everyone else, this is not a new bike. I'm not voiding any warranty. I like upgrading my stuff after I buy them, because I get a chance to see what can be better, and personalize it. Maybe you can't afford to buy better because the cost too much all at once. But buying something cheaper and upgrading it allows you to pay as you can afford it. I'm all for constructive criticism, but I don't care for rude people trying to bully others.
Ok. How would you do it then? Enlighten us since you're obviously the arbiter of taste. Do you think it looked better with the goofy giraffe neck stem on it?
Thanks. I had to modify the frame cover a bit. I had to shorten the velcro so it stops at the hinge. Really easy to do, I just cut off the extra velcro and stitched the end so it doesn't unravel. amzn.to/3NHkey5 And the frame bag is by RockBros. amzn.to/3NCxTVy
Everybody's got their own opinion. And most of them stink. The rear shock is an easy job that doesn't require an instructional video. Also I don't think the rear shock is that bad, it was stiff initially because they didn't put the washers in the right places. But after I fixed that, it works great for my needs.

Yes, this is different from a cassette. It's called a freewheel. It's all in one unit that threads on.

Handles great! I will be posting some videos of me riding the bike soon.
@@SFARCO looking forward to it
Can’t get the bead to seat with sealant in tire. Tried for about 20 minutes! Maybe your sealant was thicker?? Mine was like milk that will solidify with time-a synthetic latex they advertise.
Sometimes, it's a matter of alignment. Putting a ratchet strap around the tire can help compress it into shape.
Very informative and detailed work, good job! .. Regarding the freewheel, could you please share a Shimano alternative amazon link, the DNP is a bit pricey!
Thanks! Idk about a shimano brand. But here is an 8 speed 11-32T freewheel. It's about half the price, but not quite as good in the low gears for hills.

i have the ep-2 pro. basically the same bike but just with no rear suspension. i have upgraded the brakes and the cheap fork couldnt handle the stopping power when i had to stop hard for a car running a red light... anyway the fork bent in where the disk break mount is welded so it is now unsafe to ride and the brake always rubs no matter how i align it. im going to be using this video to replace the fork :D

Hey @SFARCO! You inspired me to get the Lezyne front lights and they just came in today. But my question is how you managed to connect them to your controller? Because the input for the light cables on the controller are red, black and yellow but the Lezyne lights only came with 2 cables (red and black)…
I hope you can help me since I’m not really an experienced electrician ✌🏼
Are you connecting one light or two? I would recommend only one. When I had both connected, the controller kept turning one of the lights off. Next question, which lezyne light did you get? But essentially, the black wires go together, and the red wires go together. The yellow wire from the controller is for the horn that is in the original light.
@@SFARCO I’m connecting only 1 and I got the “LEZYNE E-Bike Macro Drive 1000 lumens Front Light”. So I did connect the cables as you said but the light simply doesn’t turn on at all when I push the on/off button on the light itself…
@BlvckAcyd if I recall the macro is only 6-12 volts. You need one of the high voltage models. I believe they only come in the 500 or 800 lumen models.
@@SFARCO Okay I’ll try the 800 model and see if I can get it to work. Thank you so much and keep the bike videos going! ✌🏼

@@Mowgi hmmm, did the noise go away after taking it apart?

Where can i get a replacement motor wire or motor?
Have you tried contacting the manufacturer?
Looks great, I have an almost identical model (EP2-Pro) and always wondered if I could use another screen. Was your screen plug and play or did you have to change the controller too?
Thanks. I actually have not swapped out the display. That's the one that my bike came with.
@@SFARCO Now I'm wondering if I can simply plug one in.. Might be a bit risky though.. lol
@@SFARCO Yes, now I saw that you reinstalled them later / off camera. Thanks for the explanation! Was wondering what to do with them... :)
@@blackmoon925 No problem!
When do you post the video about the longer bolt for the stash
I wasn't planning on posting a video about it. You just need a longer bolt for this setup. The link for the bolt is in the description.
So the "Big Roc Handlebar Stem, 22.2mm" works perfectly fine with the "Oxmart 22mm Adjustable Motorcycle Handlebars Handle Bar for 125cc Scooter Models"?
What's the dongle on your display? And what display is that to begin with? Why did you replace the original one?
The dongle is a USB charging port. I didn't actually change my display this is what my bike came with. I got the bike when it first came out before they upgraded to 16 amp hour batteries and gave it a different display. I believe the display model is KD 986 by the company key display.

@@SFARCO it used to do 28 now only 22 I'm 50kg but I don't pedal just use the throttle
Thanks for the quick reply! And good to know there're some advantages. :)

cool vid. question is about tube tire vs tubeless.

03:52, what sort of tubeless tyres are you using.?
The supplied fitted ones with inner tube arent suitable for using as tubeless. Air just blows out at the sides not filling the tyres to make them expand and meet with rims. Hopeless.!
If it is hopeless, then why does it work? Also, why does it bother you? That's the real question.
Drive it...
Will do!
Just buy a better bike in the 1st place the answer 😅. It looks bad all wires sticking out front looks cheap now😢
That's your opinion, I could spend the time to explain why you are wrong. But instead I think this time would be better spent on you, and why you are angry with you life to the point that you need to take it out on people you don't even know. I think some self reflection would be beneficial.
Warranty...LOL...don't make me laugh.
Changing your comment, I see.

So you made these pointless upgrades but didn't swap mid shock? Which would make the biggest difference?
Everybody's got their own opinion. And most of them stink. The rear shock is an easy job that doesn't require an instructional video. Also I don't think the rear shock is that bad, it was stiff initially because they didn't put the washers in the right places. But after I fixed that, it works great for my needs.
