My favourite upgrade is to my legs. Ive spent the last 12 months upgrading these to 2022 spec, and my bike now goes a lot further than it did last year. Highly recommended 😉
Haha fair play ,I'm building my first ebike atm after losing 35kg ,I have a feeling losing the weight and with an added 1000w motor and 1kwh pack I'm gonna have no troubles going far and fast haha
The best upgrade by far that I've made has got to be electronic shifting (SRAM GX EAGLE AXS). OMG why didn't I do that before?! Total game changer for me...
Upgrades so far on my Giant fathom e 2 plus .. Has Been to upgrade handlebars to giant competition bars, upgrade stem to a shorter stem using spank .. upgrade chain set and all cranks plus chain fitted higher spec Shimano... upgrade seat to Bel air .. peddles to Spank..Upgrade grips fitted soft thick Death Grip .. As mainly using on gravel, did not upgrade to a dropper post, but fitted a Suntour suspension seat post... fitted a Small front mudguard. Next upgrade will be tyres to suit gravel and mixed terrain ..Then brake system ( Looking at Hope options ) Will also look at maybe upgrading forks, but they are ok for what I use the bike for at the moment. IMO a far better bike to ride and more responsive than standard. Also now a lot better looking bike..All these upgrades done so far are not too expensive, but I found to make a big difference.
First Emtb arriving Saturday should be an experience if nothing else! 2023 cube action team 160 grips peddles and saddle definitely top of the list to start with me thinks
You missed the most important upgrade, necessary on most - if not all - mid level priced bikes: A set of brakes, which gives you the confidence to stop the complete package when and wherever you want.
The best suspension upgrade is volume spacers (2x 10cc) super cheap so it’s the biggest value for the money upgrade you can make! And a easy install Anyone can do!!
Most upgrades mentioned I was looking at my bike and thinking wow they didn't cut any corners for two grand. Just been on a completely flooded rock run in the peaks . The only upgrade I need are some renthals and crank bros or hope pedals.
Wheels and hubs should be a must no brainer ! Stock hubs are crap so good hub’s make a massive difference to the performance Can’t believe you guys didn’t mention that
Changes I do as soon as I get a new bike, handle bars, ergon grips, ergon saddle, new stem, new tyres. and lastly real coverage mudguards. For my long term ride, new larger brakes single to dual pot is the best upgrade after all the above have been done.
Pedals, replacing the plastic stock pedals you always get with some not that expensive metal ones. I got a $25 flat pedal upgrade that grips my shoes better.
I run 2.6 front and rear stock, but will change to a 2.5 rear when the original tyre karks it👍 you'll notice a huge difference in width clearance coming from a 2.8 if you size down a bit. Happy trails!
Shocks is very hard to find coils and spacer for the new shocks, same with brakes you cant find a spacer for 203mm theb the clamps for the handle bar hard as well, the best thing is to buy an already upgrade ebike than try to do it later will cost you more
I am upgrading the wheelset on a focus sam2 I also want to change from sram to shimano. will i need to change the outer cable as well as the inner cables. the bike is new
After 3 years of turning my entry level e-mtb hardtaiil into a right good trail shredder, I've gained a particular perspective on all things upgradable on a e-mtb and the first thing that I have to ask is WHY EXACTLY ARE YOU UPGRADING? Now, for me, I brought my bike cheap (under £2K) and my first upgrades, due to safety was to the brakes and the front Suntour spring forks, both of which simply weren't up to doing the job for which they were intended. Now if you're spending £5k or more on a e-mtb, then getting a rock solid component set should be a given and if it isn't you should be asking yourself some serious questions about your purchase. Now obviously whether entry level or super expensive, all components wear out over time and use and you will be presented with a choice of either replacing or servicing that component but I have real problems of upgrading a perfectly good bike just for the sake of upgrading. Take Rock Shox's entry level Judy Air forks (which replaced the Suntours). I don't jump or fly my bike but I do give it a right good shredding around various parts of Shropshire and Wales and these forks work perfectly for the kind of riding that I do. Rock Shocks Pikes or FOX 34's or 36's would be, for me, over the top and yet I know loads of people who spend loads of money upgrading their perfectly good suspension set to something "better" only to never come close to ever exploiting the full potential of the new kit. The adage, if it ain't broke don't fix it" still applies. Rant over! One of my favourite upgrades was the addition of self sealing inner tubes to all of my rims and Tannus Armour inserts on the rear ones. Call it ole skool but I've never liked the idea of going tubeless. This way, I get the best of both worlds but each to their own.
Tires matched to conditions and I've gone to ceramic pads. I'm getting great mileage out of the ceramic pads but, they have to be de-glazed every now and then. You can just swap the internals of your fork and get an decent upgrade. X-blades for the mud
B4 u waste money, if you had a normal road bike, rember how terrible things were. Now any ebike is better than a normal road bike. Upgrade noting maybe a new seat but dats it💯👍. No upgrade needed 💯👍
The best upgrade I did to my e-bike was to change out the gearset. I bought a e-bike with a torque sensor which I love. The thing you must keep in mind when buying a torque sensor e-bike are the gear ratios the bike comes with. If the bike ghost peddles easily that will result in low speed and constant frustration. No torque on the peddles, no e-assist. My e-bike came with a 42T chainring with a 14-28T freewheel and I was ghost peddling at around 20 mph while the e-assist could go up to 28 mph. I changed out the gears to a 52T chainring with a 11-34T freewheel and now it pulls hard all the way up to 28 mph no problem. Ghost peddling is a thing of the past. My e-bike is SO much more enjoyable to ride now and I get good exercise from it because of the torque sensor.
Great tips……. I have Haibike nduro rx and it’s a bit like trigger’s broom….. upgrade’s hope dh wheels, hope e4 brakes and floating rotors, fix 40 fork’s, ergon seat, carbon renthal bar’s, gearing upgrade xtr,,,,, nyon dash,,, love my bike. And gets lots of comments.
The best upgrades I am enjoying in ranked order: 1- SpeedBox 3.0 tuning chip... shredding the forest like a maniac 2- electric SRAM AXS dérailleur. No more painful thumb 3- electric Rockshox AXS dropper post. Easy and quick. Now in need of an upgrade of my balls and skills. I need more of them so I can finally do whipping jumps and do these massive suicide drops without breaking my bones again. My son says that I am a pussy.
I hear the term "normal" Mountain biking when describing non-ebikes. Personally I reject the term "normal". But the term "ancient" comes to mind. Isn't it time to realize that the new "normal" is ebiking?
And for not being able to fix carbon wheels your wrong as you can absolutely repair and fix carbon wheels and all carbon parts but aluminum wheels your not repairing unless you know how to tig weld and even then on wheels and good carbon is way stronger then aluminum and steel
lock on grips as non lock on will fly off? lmao utter bullshit i use lock on grips just because easier to remove non lock on grips aint coming off for shit your gonnna need to cut them off when your done .......
*Don't sleep on it...this is a time to invest I recently just bought another property valued at over $10m. I wish I knew the right investment firm to invest with earlier, better late than never thought.*
Yeah!! Due to the fall in the stock market, I don't think it's advisable holding, it would be more beneficial and yield more profit if you actually trade on cryptocurrency I've been trading since the dip, and I've made so much profit trading.
@Annabelle Curtis I don't trade, I invest with a professional called Elizabeth Jacob by a crypto company that trades for us and returns profits on weekly basis for me and you can invest your capital and get weekly Returns of investment (ROI) without any extra fees attached

You got 15000w e leg kit
Hahahahhahahahahahahahahahahasomeone is pissed they can't afford to put a kit on their bike😑
100%
For me the single most important upgrade is always the saddle for a better fitting model.
The best upgrade by far that I've made has got to be electronic shifting (SRAM GX EAGLE AXS). OMG why didn't I do that before?! Total game changer for me...
I think a great upgrade will de a foam tire insert, you can lower the tire pressure, specially the back, and gain a lot of grip.
You cant lower pressure with a foam insert, can you?
@@bradsanders6954 that's one of the reason to have an insert, be able to lower the pressure of the tire without having a puncture
Wish there was a company that sold frame & motor only. All else are customizable options.

I've gone through and upgraded everything. I like the specialized seat and bars though. Extra battery is my favourite upgrade though 😂 I'm extra lazy
Sounds like you're pretty kitted out then - Nice!
First Emtb arriving Saturday should be an experience if nothing else! 2023 cube action team 160 grips peddles and saddle definitely top of the list to start with me thinks
First thing I did was ditch the two piston for 4 piston w/ceramic pads (Powerfly 4)
You missed the most important upgrade, necessary on most - if not all - mid level priced bikes: A set of brakes, which gives you the confidence to stop the complete package when and wherever you want.
Totally agree on the brake upgrade.
The four piston deores many come with are good though.
The best suspension upgrade is volume spacers (2x 10cc) super cheap so it’s the biggest value for the money upgrade you can make!
And a easy install Anyone can do!!
What is a volume spacer for the forks?
Best E-bike upgrade? Spare battery!
My favorite eMTB upgrade is my medical PPO coverage. The faster they can get an ambulance out here the faster I can get back to riding.
Stock hubs are crap so good hub’s make a massive difference to the performance
Can’t believe you guys didn’t mention that
Hubs are different, so many made, how can all stock hubs be crap? Hubs have cartridge bearings, and all spin about the same. Massive difference how?
Changes I do as soon as I get a new bike, handle bars, ergon grips, ergon saddle, new stem, new tyres. and lastly real coverage mudguards. For my long term ride, new larger brakes single to dual pot is the best upgrade after all the above have been done.

Informative, thanks! Been looking to finally upgrade.
My brakes were the best upgrade for my Levo Comp. Switched out the G2’s for Shimano Saints with a 220mm rotor on front.
What size tyres do people use for trail riding, as thinking of changing my 2.8 maxxis tyres.
I run 2.6 front and rear stock, but will change to a 2.5 rear when the original tyre karks it👍 you'll notice a huge difference in width clearance coming from a 2.8 if you size down a bit. Happy trails!
2.6
Great value for ebike!!
link to that rear fender you had?
The only thing needed for my Mondraker crafty 2022 were the brakes, now they have become Magura MT7 with HC3 levers 😄
Great update, on my Mondraker i put a MT Trail and works Phenomenal
Replaced SRAM codes with Maguras - awesome. 👍
Shocks is very hard to find coils and spacer for the new shocks, same with brakes you cant find a spacer for 203mm theb the clamps for the handle bar hard as well, the best thing is to buy an already upgrade ebike than try to do it later will cost you more
Upgrade Riser bars ,Oury grips Michelins Enduros
I am upgrading the wheelset on a focus sam2 I also want to change from sram to shimano. will i need to change the outer cable as well as the inner cables. the bike is new
My upgrade? Lifting the BB 32mm. Where can I get those white waterproof overalls? :)
A video on ugrading chainrings crankarms ect would be beneficial. Yes may be more visual but struggling to find a video on this
#ebike grips and pedals for me and go from there.
Also did tubeless here
Can I change my levo sl from 12 to 10 on my Drivetrain?
Schiller Throughway
cant sealants have a reactivation fluid instead of a top up each time? Im tired of learning that I need to keep adding weight to my tyres.
I mean smaller amount of fluid that reactivates the existing fluid

Good
Best upgrade, derestrict!
All EMTB from specialized has dropper post
What timing just watched the vid and only an hour ago ordered 2 x Ergon GE1 EVO Lock ons
Shame on you guys you said you were going to put a link to tubeless tire conversions in the description I don't see it.
Tires matched to conditions and I've gone to ceramic pads. I'm getting great mileage out of the ceramic pads but, they have to be de-glazed every now and then. You can just swap the internals of your fork and get an decent upgrade. X-blades for the mud
The marketing is strong in this one.

Speed box for derestricting.
Thumb throttle.

Spare battery.

So basically upgrade everything, but still use air in the tires.
@@vashon100 nope upgrade to premium e-bike air too
Could of had a disclaimer that this was advise for A.I. to study for more generic information gathered absolutely anywhere.
Candelario Mountain
Did you know you can buy ebikes with fenders?
I hear the term "normal" Mountain biking when describing non-ebikes. Personally I reject the term "normal". But the term "ancient" comes to mind. Isn't it time to realize that the new "normal" is ebiking?
Loose weight worked for me i went faster with no expenses 😅😅
I’ve got the best one ditch the battery and get fit
Don't hate, I can be working hard on my ebike. I go so much further now and can do things I couldn't before. Just cause you can't afford it........
kudos on that! older folks can still enjoy mtb with a battery, don't knock it!!
And for not being able to fix carbon wheels your wrong as you can absolutely repair and fix carbon wheels and all carbon parts but aluminum wheels your not repairing unless you know how to tig weld and even then on wheels and good carbon is way stronger then aluminum and steel
Lose weight, it turns out lighter riders go further faster while using less battery.
Tires....
lock on grips as non lock on will fly off? lmao utter bullshit i use lock on grips just because easier to remove non lock on grips aint coming off for shit your gonnna need to cut them off when your done .......
U running out of video ideas lol? You guys just keep reproducing the same content
