Happy to help. If you wish to add more width, cast on multiples of 4+1. For this sample we cast on 121 (30x4+1). If you'd like to make it wider by one repeat you cast on 125 (31x4+1). Hope this makes sense and helps! ❤️

Yes, it will work in just one color. Are you thinking of making the scarf the same width but shorter? If so, since the original uses 1,375 yards for a ~100" long scarf, I'd say you'll need at least 690 yds if you want it to be ~50" long. I hope this makes sense. Have a nice day! 💝
