    • @ExpressionFiberArts

    • @ExpressionFiberArts

      I would probably drop it to 2 to 4, but do a gauge swatch to see what you like. 😊. It will make the shawl smaller, so adjust the number of cast on stitches accordingly ❤️

    Hello guys!
    So Chandi casts on 22 stitches to the Swatch. 😎 Lova ya all! ❤️
    You are right! I am misunderstable. I meant the stitch numbers when you try out the pattern. Sorry!
    I Always miscount stitches 😆so I thought I write it down to myself.
    May I ask how can I call that? Not swatch Than ...?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  2 года назад +1

      For a swatch, the number can vary depending on how tight or loose you knit. Just cast on enough to get to at least 4" or a little beyond, so you have enough stitches on your needles to accurately measure your gauge.

      Yes, you should have done 5 knit stitches before your final 3 stitches. I'm not quite sure what happened. How many stitches did you cast on? I would love to help. :)

    I ended up buying your fingering yarn, Devoted. Is that the same weight you used or is it thinner. Would it mess up the pattern if I used US size 6 instead of 5? I have terrible arthritis in my fingers and with the size 5 it is very painful.

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  4 года назад

      Yes, we used fingering weight yarn. I think you can definitely get away with using a size 6. ❤️

      ExpressionFiberArts awesome. Sorry to be a pain, but would I have to change the number of stitches if I use a 6? Also I purchased your Oasis fingering yarn in Devoted. What fantastic quality and color!

      @@ashleydunham1158 I wouldn't worry about it. It might be slightly larger. I think you can get away with the same stitch count. I'm so glad you like the yarn! That makes me so happy! 😃

      ExpressionFiberArts I’m certain I’m being a pain but... I’ve knitted on and off since 2014. I dropped knitting for about 4 years, so I’ve been working on simple stuff. I messed up my count on Row 1 for the first section. I was wondering... have you ever done any videos on how to correct a mistake? Otherwise I have to start over... for the third time. I love your stuff (I’ll be buying more yarn when I have the money; I’m a college professor so no income over the summer) and you seem very knowledgeable! Thanks for being so awesome!

      @@ashleydunham1158 I don't mind answering any question I can! I haven't done a video on how to correct mistakes, though that is a video we plan on making. If you write me here: www.expressionfiberarts.com/contact-us/ and explain your challenge, possibly upload a picture, we might be able to be of more help. Thank you so much!

    So I'm making this, but with a different yarn (fingering weight acrylic). For some reason, I feel like my pattern isn't as long? Like I'm already on my second ball, but for some reason it's like a third of the length of one of the sections on your shawl.

    • @ExpressionFiberArts

      It depends on the yardage in your yarn, or the dimensions that you created your project. With our Seacoast fingering, there are 435 yards per 3.5 oz of yarn. I hope this helps a little. : )

      @@ExpressionFiberArts the yarn I'm using is around 400yds and I cast on the number of stitches in the pattern. Maybe I just have a really loose gauge?

    Is DK weight to bulky for this pattern? I have 5 skeins of your DK yarn I'd like to use on a lacey rectangle wrap changing the colors like you do in the "Worth Wrap". Please help.
