  • Hey, friend! I hope you're having a most amazing day! Today, I have a new knitted shawl design to share with you, and it's one that holds a super special place in my heart! It's classically elegant and stunning, but also oh-so easy and just perfect for the Beginner or Adventurous Beginner knitter!
    Download Entangle here: www.expression...
    Entangle is an absolutely gorgeous wrap that features an all-over Feather and Fan stitch pattern with Garter stitch borders. We chose colors that have a vintage vibe and are reminiscent of a leisurely stroll through a secret, forgotten garden. In this video tutorial, I demonstrate how to knit the shawl, including both the border and body stitches.
    Entangle uses our lovely Ephemeral Fingering yarn, which is the perfect yarn for warmer weather. It is 100% plant-based and is a mix of 69% soft Pima Cotton and 31% Lyocell. The sample shawl is shown in colors (A) Cambrilla, (B) Navaeh, (C) Leilani, (D) Ximena, and (E) Nensa. However, you can make it with any colors you desire.
    www.expression...
    This yarn base and this year's colors are limited edition. Once they are sold out, we may or may not have them again, so be sure to purchase all you will need for your project.
    Have a marvelous day! Be sure to sign up for email updates to receive more knit and crochet patterns. We aim for one a week, and most are free for a limited time only. You'll also get coupon codes and be among the first to hear about new limited yarns! XOXO

    Feather and Fan + 4 soft colors + 1 bold color = Wow!
    I love how the burgundy waves really pop against the softer colors. You've just shown us how versatile this stitch pattern is and why so many of us love it. Bravo!

    Hi Chandi, sorry if you’ve been asked this que before, but I just downloaded the pattern from your website (yay!) and have noted the measurements - is that after blocking? If so, what would you say the length should be unblocked? I’m fairly new to knitting and have made a few scarves, but this is my first shawl and haven’t even bought blocking boards yet! Any advice re unblocked length would be very much appreciated! Thank you 😊

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  Год назад

      Hi there, thank you for your question.
      Yes, the size given in the written instructions are after blocking but if you check further down you'll see the gauge specifications:
      * 24 sts and 42 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Garter stitch (unblocked)
      * 19 sts and 34 rows = 4" (10 cm) in Garter stitch (blocked)
      and using these you can calculate how long the shawl will be unblocked. Based on the numbers from there I'd say the shawl will be ~73" long before blocking.
      I hope this answers your question. Have a nice day! 💕

    Wow, this is stunning! Thanks for another great tutorial. Definitely adding this to my list of garments to knit! Would this work well with your alpaca silk DK yarn, do you think? I just ordered the dried herbs kit (been wanting it since it first came out; so excited!), and I was thinking the colours would be great in this design. Not sure about going up this much in yarn weight, though.... Meanwhile, I feel like the bloopers were definitely me today....

      I'm so happy you like it. You'd definitely want to swatch up your DK with larger needles to see if you like how it looks and drapes. And, of course, be mindful of the yardage, so you don't run out.

    Hello there, I just purchased your pattern and I was wondering if I wanted to make this into a lap blanket, would you suggest just doubling the width (would make it 50" instead of 25")? If so, would I need to double all the yarn I purchase? Thank you!

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  2 года назад +1

      Hi Lauren,
      if you're planning on keeping the same length of the shawl, then yes you'd need to double the yarn but if you wan to make it half as long, then the amount stated in the pattern might be enough. Unfortunately, I can't give you an exact answer because it also depends on your gauge.
      I hope this helps! 💕

    ❓️ When you say 16 rows of garter stitches, are that 8 garter stitches in total, since a garter needs 2 rows? Or do i need 32 rows so i get 16 garter? I'm new to English knitting, so it is a bit confusing. 🤪🤪

      Hi Ewa, thank you for your message. I'm happy to help.
      I'm sorry for the confusion. You will knit 16 rows total, meaning you will have 8 purl bump rows on each side (RS & WR). I hope this answers your question. Have a nice weekend! ❤️

    Dear Chandi, if I want to make this shawl wider than that, how should I increase the loops?

      Hi Shina, the Entangle pattern is based on a multiple of 18 sts meaning if you want to make it wider you will need to add at least 18 or 36, and so on to you cast on. I hope this makes sense. Enjoy making your shawl. 💕
