    UFF DA!!! That's my great grandmother's pattern!!! I doubt she made it up, but that's the only pattern she would crochet. And she called it Ripple. I have 3 of her afghans still and I was named after her. She grew up in Norway and migrated here when she was 19. I adored her and love her strength and silly sense of humor! She also used the ripple pattern to make round flat pillows. Thank you again for putting a big smile on my face! Love Ya!

    I love all your patterns they are gorgeous but I can't seem to master the foundation single crochets. Can you advise on this pattern how many normal foundation chains I should do please and is there a rule of thumb when wanting to avoid doing FSC as stated in many of your lovely featured patterns? Thank you

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  2 года назад

      Hi Tatiana,
      Thank you for your question. I'm happy to help.
      You can always substitute a Foundation Single Crochet with a normal chain in the beginning. In the case of Undulation you would chain 66 +3 (so 69 total). You will need 66 for the base and the 3 for your turning chain because you will do double crochets in the next row. For your first double crochet you will insert your hook into the 4th chain of the hook.
      I hope this makes sense and is helpful.
      Have a lovely day! 💕

The particular kit we used Umber Hues is currently not available but Faraway Hues (www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/faraway-hues-mirage-sport.html) or Wanderlust Hues (www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/wanderlust-hues-mirage-sport.html) would be a great alternative. Hello, I loved it…but how many yarn is needed for a large shawl and what size of hook. This will be my first time using this kind of yarn, does it comes with a specific caliber #?

    Love your work. You always make it look beautiful. I always love your color choices, that is not where I shine…lol. I just wish you would add the stitch count to your videos. I think this one is 17? Also does this “shrink” up due to the wave pattern so I need to make a chain of 25 inches to get a width of 20? Guess I need to do a swatch. I am going to try it with that count. Hope it comes out.

      Thanks! I appreciate the helpful suggestion. Here is our gauge: 18 sts and 9 rows= 4” in dc unblocked
      16 sts and 8 rows= 4” in dc blocked. I hope it helps a little. :)

    Is there a written pattern for this shawl I can donwload? I can copy your directions if I need to; the yarn you showed at the beginning is beautiful; it is for sale somewhere on Expressions fiber arts? I can't find a color chart or yarn prices on that site. I want to try the knitted one with 2 colors and a special technique too. Where can i find more info about the 2 yarns and the starting row stitch counts?

    What a gorgeous pattern and generous as a free pattern. Now what expression fiber yarn shall I use and will I gift it? Love the options of size and adding color. Thank you and been a fan for sometime so, I do love your yarns that I have purchased. The yarns are so smooth and “twisted” tight so there are no splitting.
