I am a crocheter and just can’t knit but I love all your videos whichever craft it is for because you make them special. Your smile and your positive outlook on life make your videos so fun to watch. Thank you!
I really like this shawl and the gorgeous blue yarn! I am a knitter, but I watched your tutorial and I believe I could crochet this with your detailed instructions. Thank you for the pattern and the crochet stitch tutorial!
Thank you for another beautiful pattern as well great tutorial!! Also THANK YOU!!! for all your wonderful words & positive energy. You shine such a bright light over the Universe!!
I do believe that you are the easiest teacher to follow. You show it carefully as you explain. I am trying to show my 11-year-old granddaughter how to crochet and I know how to crochet but to show it to somebody is so hard!🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️the hardest part for me to help her understand is how to hold the hook and where to place her fingers and the yarn.
Thank you Chandi for reposting this video tutorial. I really like the fact that you told us how to count the stitches to maintain the straight edges all thru the shawl🤗 Thank you and your team for all of your hard work. You guys are great 👍🏾 Much Love, Peace and Blessings to you all💖
Loved Sarayu design a lot Loved the Final Lines too Today is all we have Must try this lovely pattern Expression Fiber Arts Love uuuu Byeeeee Looking Forward to some more pretty simple designs
I love this shawl! I am not a crochet-ist but I would like to make this one. You are the cutest and most effective teacher I have met on the web . Kisses! Cat(alina)
This is fantastic! Oh those dreaded chains are history. It so gives a smoother and visual as you noted. Girl you are rocking for beginners and confident. 🤙👏👏👏✊👏👏👏👏👍
I really enjoy your videos, you do a great job presenting everything and especially the way you hold your hook. Holding your hook this way helps to see exactly what you are doing. I have always held my hook like a pencil, I feel like I have more control of the hook.
Absolutely beautiful color and shawl! The yarn looks really beautiful! Thank you for showing us how to make the shawl... this is one I'd love to make for myself!! Thank you for the pattern link!
Great tutorial, as always! I finally understood the Foundation SC; you are excellent when it comes to explaining stitches! You are AWESOME!!! Thank you for all you do...❤ Have a wonderful day...🤗😙
Love this! Simple and elegant pattern. I bought the yarn, by the time I went on line my choice was limited but I’m sure it will look wonderful in the variegated color I selected. Can’t wait to start!
I'm going to pull out an old crochet hook and some yarn and try this! The screams you may hear are me yet again attempting to NOT crochet my fingers into the pattern. Sigh...but I'm going to do it! What a lovely pattern!!!! And what hilarious outtakes! All this laughter isns't good for me! (Just kidding)!
You are a breath of fresh air to watch, you make the fsc easy to understand, now i can practice it without fear and make this gorgeous shawl, thank you so much xx 💖
@@ExpressionFiberArts I will!!! I'm curious. I've lately been enjoying this beautiful lace weight bamboo cotton blend yarn for Colorado summer shawls. Do you think this pattern might look good or be almost too lacey with a lace weight yarn? Probably just need to try it and see.
Love watching your tutorials. So calm and relaxing. You have inspired me to get over my fingering weight fears. Also i love how you match your hooks to your nails x
This is gorgeous. I love this bright beautiful blue !!! In India, there is a river named Sarayu. Also, there is mention of it in Swami and Friends, a book written by R. K. Narayan.
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE LOVE this pattern!! So GORGEOUS!!! 😍😘👍🏼!! So HAPPY that you were able to fix the🙌🏽 UPLOADING so quickly 💋💋💋💋!! I'm so excited to start this one sweetie! You seem to share an American prejudice against the past in favor of the future. That part, not so great. But I love this pattern. I live in Arizona and today the temp was well into the 100-110 temp range. Only breathy patterns/shawls work in these conditions. I love that I can use this pattern to quickly shift from open to warming, because one moment I am under an AC duct and chilly, while the next I am outdoors inside nature's oven. Let me assure you. Have you ever opened an oven and gotten a face full of hot air? I get this whenever I open my apartment door in the AZ summer. It's an oven out there. I hope this pattern will help me wear a shawl for fashion without cooking inside it in the heat. Then, indoors, I often feel like a little green pea in the flash freeze. I hope this pattern will protect me from feeling like a Birdseye flash frozen veggie. Also, just one more point. Thank you for visiting the realm of crochet folk. Many of your truly beautiful designs belong to the two-stick neighbors. That's great for them and I envy them, but I am a clumsy ox with two sticks instead of one hook. Knitting is a so-so place to visit, but I cannot yet live there. Love your vids. Thanks much.
Chandi you are just gorgeous and you model all your garments beautifully. Chandi when I want to download one of your free patterns like this one but I have to go through my PayPal and then I still don’t see anywhere I can actually download the pattern. So no pattern but a lot of frustration as I need to repeatedly fill in all my personal living details. How can I get past having to use the PayPal system when I am not actually paying. I have bought some and one day once I get 8 pairs of socks knitted and my daughter’s colleague and best friend’s husband needs beanies (6) as his last one was virtually eaten by their very naughty but cute German shepherd Tucker! I am looking forward to buying the yarn needed for the Aussie water lily as I am an Aussie living in Victoria the southern most State on the mainland. So excited to make this but what hook size did you use and what yarn size can I use a size 3 what hook would you recommend if it's different than the hook you used.❤️

hi there! this is a lovely pattern that im putting on my list! could you please tell us how much yardage was used in yours and the size hook youre using?
Shown in: Milky Way Galaxy. 3 skeins needed (500 yds/3.5 oz each) Colors come and go. Choose any you love! Approximately 10.2 oz (1460 yd) were used for the sample shown. HOOK: US Size G/6 (4.00 mm)
Can I do this pattern on a DK weight yarn ? Fingering weight seems just so tiny but im not sure how the drape would work out. The yarn in the video also looks much thicker than fingering so I'm hopeful it will work out fine.
Hi Noel, thank you for your comment. We usually use thicker yarn like DK or Worsted for our tutorials because the stitches are easier to see on video. Regarding your question, yes, you can use DK yarn for the Sarayu but you're correct it'll affect the drape when using thicker yarn. So I'd suggest to find something with a similar fiber content to the Oasis Camel Silk Fingering (original yarn; 50/50 Camel/Silk) like our Alpaca Silk DK. It is DK but is 50/50 Alpaca/Silk and should behave similar. I hope this helps. Have a wonderful day! 💕
That you don't have to work stitches into 300+ chains. If you also have a tendency of making your chain way tighter than the rest of your stitches, FSC helps to add ease to that so you end up with an actual rectangle and not a slight trapezoid.

What is the benefit of starting with a foundation single crochet versus doing a chain and then single crochet into the chain?
That you don't have to work stitches into 300+ chains. If you also have a tendency of making your chain way tighter than the rest of your stitches, FSC helps to add ease to that so you end up with an actual rectangle and not a slight trapezoid.
What Leen O said.
