The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. In this new electrically-charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar. All that is missing is his love - Christine Daaé. Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. So, it is with excitement she accepts an invitation to travel to New York and perform at a renowned opera house. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan; to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island… not knowing what is in store for them…
Christine and the Phantom: *singing loudly*
Gustave in the other room: “What the heck is going on back there?”

Bro really said that they’d summarize everyone’s reaction to this song
@@patriziaintiso2791 😂😂
Maybe not the full version, but exactly the part that makes me cry. I love the musical SO much. The music is mesmeric..However, the plot was what made this sequel so underrated, sadly :/ Such a shame not many know about this incredible song...
I agree. The music is mesmerizing and haunting!
Lady Steel Late but what happened?
Lady Steel I'm not gonna say your opinion is wrong, but I'll think it very loudly
Lol this musical is shit
@@baka-chan4226 shhshs same, underrated comment
Okay, watch those hands, Phantom! 😂
Finally! Found the comment i have been searching for! Was wondering why no one is commenting where his hand *ehem* was touching.... 😂
Hahahhaha! This comment 😂😂😂
@@sylee3136
Ahaha. It's been discussed for many years now. Lol.
jetzume I’d slap his hand if I was her
we know christine should be angry with him but in the 0:21 she is like "got away" but she accept it lol
When he stands up at the end. Chilllllls
While this snippet is great, it's the section RIGHT BEFORE THIS that really seals the deal (when they were on the chair singing together and he takes her in his arms). I think a large part of why this is so good is because Ben and Anna's voices are perfectly suited for each other in every way. Ben has even said so himself, that his and Anna's musical phrasing are very similar - so they hit the right notes at the same time and they pause at the same places and it just really embodies the way Christine and the Phantom are of the same soul. It's so rare to hear two voices come together like this and I find myself replaying all the parts where they sing together - I especially love when they harmonize on "and I heard those ravishing refrains". 😊😊😊
YES!
Have you noticed she never once said "I love you" to either man the first show and this is her first time admitting it to Erik? Sure in All I Ask of You she said, "Say you love me," "Love me that's all I ask of you." But she's telling Raoul to love her, to protect her, never has she once implied "*I* love you." And still in Love Never Dies, she never really says it to Raoul. But here she says it to Erik.
Juliette Veronica you can see the fear of phantom in the beginning also, realizing that she truly loved him hsjdjdhsnzbsnahsjzjdk
Not a sequel. At least not sequel of POTO.
oOp
@@TheMsiaddict yes it is 😂
I am loved! :)
i'm such a fan of sierra boggess and honestly, she's still the best for me BUT ANNA SNAPPED LIKE OMG I WAS AMAZED
They need to make this into a movie like now or 2019
Ruthie Blondet It is but the full thing isn’t out anymore. Well not for free at least.
With Gerard and Emmy.
@@madphantom7161 YES I WOULD WATCH
It's 2019 and I can confirm that they haven't released one :')
@@madphantom7161
There are serious notes here that Gerard can't hit.
For people here commenting that it seemed like they wanted to slap each other, I think that was the whole point. They're so frustrated with how things happened the next day after the great bingbong-schumillimulligum they're realizing how different things could have been.
They're good but... Between the dynamic of love-hate-regret of Christine and the Phantom's story, I can feel all of those from Sierra and Ramin, sometimes the love/passion dominating, but this version I feel the anger more? I'm kind of searching for that feels of "they make me root for them even tho it's not healthy" and I can't feel it 😢
@@lifeinmywonderland
Ramin-Sierra just didn't do anything with this song. She wasn't even pissed by him for leaving her.
@@TheMsiaddict That's due to bad directing I think. You can see in the 25th that both Ramin and Sierra give wonderfull and passionate performances.
@@tabithak7321
Yeah really bad direction. Off and on again and still bad.
Maybe Erik felt like he was used by her. He was upset. She came to him, not the other way around.
I have no idea why this *entire* comment section is mostly a conversation between Erik and Christine, with the occasional Raoul or Gustave appearing, but I'm living for it xD
I love ben lewis omg hes hot n has a gorgeous voice
The best phantom and Christine ever ❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️🌹❤️
this version is so much more sensual than the West End version, Saying this as a Ramin and Sierra fan. I can truly believe that Anna O'Byrne's Christine is PISSED at Erik and he's in torment
She had every right to be pissed.
She did..
This could technically be seen as a 20-ish year old woman and 60-ish year old man having a seizure.
But all jokes aside, I love this song and movie. Thanks for posting this. :)
I always thought of them having an 8-10 year gap tbh
Hello Friends With all of Ben's odd expressions and violent movements yes this could indeed be described as two people having a seizure

First time I've see the Ben/Anna version (i'm a Ramin & Sierra fan, hate me if you want) and honestly Anna looks like she's about to slap him sometimes!
And Ben at some points looks almost murderous....
Amy Amato
Very in character lol
Love both Rierra and Anna and Ben’s performance
Tho i’m really in love with how Ramon and Sierra’s voice blends together, I still think Ben and Anna did a brilliant job
Amy Amato he IS murderous. He will kill for Christine.
The phantom of murderous I guess

He's just a bit tamed here. Frustration, depression, anger, sadness, hope are mixed. But Erik was an assassin, remember.
Well, he’s a murderer-
Great play & cast! Loved it!
*Side-note*: Does anyone else wonder how these songs would sound if G.B. sang them? Or is it just me? I thought him & the rest of the cast sang very well in the movie. I was pleasantly surprised. JUST SAYING.
Agree to disagree.
I wonder that Everytime I listen to this song. I hope Hollywood makes a movie with all the same actors
I wonder that too. I liked him as the Phantom. I think he very well.
I want either of them for it
Honestly I do lol. I WISHED THEY WOULD USE THE SAME CAST AS THEY DID FOR THE FIRST MOVIE THO *cries*
My opinion, Ben is amazing Phantom and I don’t see anything wrong about him touching Anna. They’re both professionals so it’s normal to touch each other.
You know how long it took me to realize that this song was about... their night together... Too long, too long.

Something that confuses me is, this is a sequel to the 2004 phantom of the opera, yet she says the phantom left her but in the 2004 she chooses Raul.
Equilibrium Phoenix the night they’re talking about in this song happens after she has chose Raoul and escaped the dungeon with Raoul. She went back to the phantom cuz she was unsure of her choosing Raoul and they had sex but when it was done the phantom was ashamed of what he was and didn’t wanna hurt Christine so he left Christine
No.
It's sequel for the alternative ending.
TheMsiaddict isnt it the sequel to phantom?
@@lindaweng1470
Not really the sequel. But many people insist it's a sequel. ALW himself said it's kind of a sequel. It's not direct sequel, but a sequel to the alternative ending.
These two should have been the actors for the POTO film.
Wow Christine loves Erik and yet she chooses raoul over him
She didn't here. Erik left her because of a reason.
@@TheMsiaddict she left him first of all in the phantom of the opera movie because she chose raoul over him.
