The year is 1907. It is 10 years after his disappearance from the Paris Opera House and the Phantom has escaped to a new life in New York where he lives amongst the screaming joy rides and freak-shows of Coney Island. In this new electrically-charged world, he has finally found a place for his music to soar. All that is missing is his love - Christine Daaé. Now one of the world’s finest sopranos, Christine is struggling in an ailing marriage to Raoul. So, it is with excitement she accepts an invitation to travel to New York and perform at a renowned opera house. In a final bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan; to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island… not knowing what is in store for them…

I LOVE everything about this part. The instruments, especially the strings, give me chills every single time. Then, you add Ben Lewis's mesmerizing voice on top of it... Not to mention the lyrics. I find it very difficult to find a piece of music that even comes close to the beauty and power of this masterpiece. Breathless is all I can say.

This is the equivalent of having Rose hook up with Billy Zane's character after he gives her that diamond which is SUPPOSED to symbolize her being trapped in a loveless/abusive marriage with him but James Cameron for some reason has the nerve to portray it as "romantic". Even if Lord Andy intended it or not (I'm leaning on the former since he started work on this project after he and Sarah Brightman divorced). James Cameron at least had the decency to avoid that in "Titanic". Say what you will about some of his movies but he knows screenplay structure and how to please his audience.

One thing I love about the costuming for Christine here in this moment that doesn’t get mentioned is that.
1) She is wearing a white robe
2) Her hair is down.
In this moment she looks like her old self again, as this moment is about Christine finding herself again.
Here she is Christine Daae again, the Phantoms Muse, his Angel of Music, not the Vicomtesse de Chaney whom is forced to bottle up all her passions. And her going to the mirror and looking at herself as he slips that necklace on her is Erik basically saying “ We both know who you REALLY are my dear, time to let your true self out again.”

They had sex thats how she got pregnant with the phantoms baby after the fire of the opera house she found out where he was hiding cause she realized she was in love with Erik the day before her wedding to Raoul n thats when she n Erik had sex
And to continue where Jerzy left off, she still married Raoul because the Phantom was gone when she woke up the next morning because he felt he wasn’t good enough for her. But he regretted it for 10 years. He had no idea their sexual act gave him a son.

In the phantom of the opera, she chose Raoul but in the part two which is the love never dies, she chose the phantom again because she was deceived by Raoul. Raoul was acting like a cruel husband. But I was shookt to know that the phantom and Christine had a son hahhaha
The only reason Christine chose Erik in POTO was to save Raoul, Erik knew that and decided to let them both go. Sure she loved erik as a mentor but not like that. Not to mention him murdering people and ruining Carlotta’s career just because he was judgy.

Unpopular opinion here... I fricking love Ben Lewis’s phantom in the grand scheme of things, but some of his acting feels a bit over the top, even for Actual Drama Queen™ Erik.

I have to agree. His voice is spectacular, his singing is beautifully emotive and precisely delivered, but his spoken dialogue and physical acting are usually pretty terrible sorry to say. Just listening, though, he's nearly peerless.

@@whoeveriam789 I love POTO and I did enjoy this terrible sequel, but there are a lot of people who get abused in their life and they don't kill people. So yes Phantom is actually a terrible person. In the original London production videos I saw, he straight up CHOKES CHRISTINE because she didn't tell him at the beginning Gustave was his son. And then of course he threatens to kidnap the child before he knows the truth, and chokes Raul before leaving the bar. So yes, the Phantom would be an actual manipulative Psycho in the real world and would probably end up abusing Christine and his son if he ever got them. But in the Fantasy world that is the Phantom World, he's just.a sweet "misunderstood" sensitive man. And yes I love the fantasy of the sexy Phantom, but no he would legitimately be an abuser in the real world.
They turned Christine drippy and annoying. And she's a red head and yet she doesn't have freckles? Is a chick with even skin tone really one that any two men would compete over, if she's got no personality?
