I’m not lucky enough or talented enough to get the platinum, and damned if I’m spending $300 on it either. Good luck to everyone that’s on the hunt.
just rent it, you dont have to buy it.
cmon dont you find an event for sweats and whales to be awesome??!?!?

I am one of those who owns the F8C already, and am absolutely happy more people will get the chance to, especially the lucky few who earn it in game and get the ultra rare Stormfire skin. We've been asking for CIG to have more in game only earnable items/ships, and the game needs more of this. The last couple years have been rocky, especially with trust that CIG can ever deliver, but I hope CitizenCon has something really concrete in store this year, I still have faith.
The last couple they have been lying about sq42 and pyro since 2016
@@danford6678 lying and failing to deliver are a non arbitrary distinction. I've been very critical of CIG, but I think you must highly underestimate how much it takes to make games that are this complex at this scale. Regardless of what anyone thinks their intentions have been, the past couple years have reached a point that prior years did not. Their growth is outpacing the funding, and it has become obvious that the burn down rate would not pan out if something does not change. The last few years have been extremely hard for the game industry, businesses in general. Studios are having mass layoffs, and some even closing entirely. So that's what we mean when we say the last two to three years have been different than prior ones.
@@danford6678plans change
Wish I had a chance to get one :( gone at work till December should just unlock for concierge to buy :(
This even has been pretty fun, watched a streamer manage to obtain the platinum ticket. . . long fight and a ton of coordination needed. I got a golden ticket, but won't be buying the ship. I'm more of a mining, hauler type so a ship that pew pews like this isn't for me.
Count me as HIGHLY (HIGHLY HIGHLY) skeptical that we will ever see a CIG dev on the AUS servers.
this is what I was wondering as well. I'm playing in japan (so basically with you guys, but in an even worse timezone), does that mean I will basically have false hopes? I've never seen a dev once. Doesn't seem fair to be honest.
Yeah that's what I was thinking too lol.
Not that I'm good enough or well equipped enough to 1v1 a Dev in an F8, and then fight off the rest of the server to secure the ship anyway haha.
@@smaxfpv1337East Coast USA, I don't believe I have ever seen a cig dev, but that could be just not to my knowledge. I've been playing on and off for a handful of years now.
I even doubt we'll see many of them here in Europe
The highest count will be US. We in Europe might get a chance, but anything not US gets ignored quite frequently.
My only problem with this event is that it's super skewed towards large orgs and groups, and people who already own top of the line ships. If you're a lowly aurora pilot, tough luck, even if you were in an org you're not gonna be the one receiving it and you sure as shit aren't going to earn one solo. (This is coming from a concierge member btw). Oh, and I'm talking about the platinum ticket. The gold ticket is whatever, "oh I earned the ability to give more money to CIG".
You can run bunkers or delivery missions in an Aurora. Talked with someone who found one in a loot box at one of the mining outposts so combat of any sort isn’t necessarily required.
@@lymaneadie4710 Read the end of my comment please. I'm not talking about the gold ticket.
Just like real life
It looks like a bunch of people only watched until the golden pass and switched off when it became a "play to pay" event, but that platinum pass is so cool and I'm definitely trying for myself (going to die instantly)
Then again a lot of people don't do PvP so the rest of the event is just unoptainable
well, you dead ram the dev, so someone else loots it xD
the f8c was always connected with squadron, so them releasing the ship as a rental/purchasable ship with the tickets in the event is giving me even more hope they actually give us a release date for sq42 at citcon
100%. They always release ships for $$$ a few months before they release them in game for credits. And you get the F8 in game via SQ42. So... fingers crossed we get a spring/summer release date
the already announced the release date. its coming out in 2016.
Or the opposite... that they don't want people to steal them this year and see they are finished now and start asking questions about a finished ship being locked behind S404.
They can kill two birds with one stone, yet again, and milk the community for $300 for a ship they already basically own and deflect criticism at the same time.
@@kingdedede9135I don’t think hoping for a release date 4 years after a trailer dropped is being overly optimistic, but this is CIG we’re talking about

A little lol, but everyone gets the chance to loot it and fly it, and the rare person gets to fight someone and take it. The money parts kinda meh but the rest is pretty cool
Trying to get some more $$$ to pay for Citcon?
Also means the scalpers for limited release ships get left out from buying them all up 🎉
That intro was slick Morph. Loved the panning on the F8C. Keep up the great work. Your cinematography just keeps getting better and better!
The golden tickets are laughably common so there really isn't much point in them. Maybe they try to stress the inventory system by people running around looting boxes. The price itself is already incredibly high but the fact that only the Warbond version has LTI (overhyped anyway, but still) compared to the storecredit one with 6 months and they don't even offer a ccu (upgrade) to it is a bit scummy. Even the even more expensive Vanduul Glaive has an option to CCU to it.
Oh no CCU well there goes any chance of grabbing it for me.
I'm on the hunt for helmets so sounds like I'll end up with a ticket so that's kinda nice I guess.
They're common because this is a sale hidden inside an event. CIG gets daily engagement and potential purchases at the same time. For them it's a double win. For us, well, we get the opportunity to give CIG hundreds of dollars! That's a win for us too...right?
@@disky01right??
Found a golden ticket by just casually flying down to microTech's SMO-18 friendly mining outpost and it was in one of the many random loot boxes!
As a Praetorian, I have the two F8C versions as you mentioned but unfortunately I'm traveling at the moment as I am a real pilot and should be returning home only next Wednesday.... I'm getting freaking crazy and anxious to try them ;)

they even spawn inside the armor and backpacks of killed npc enemies.
Awesome event! Thankfully that finishing squadron 42 will also unlock the purchase option, what will be my choice. Have a safe flight morph o7

I'm waiting for your A1 review!! I love your work man. Just your direction you go with reviewing ships structurally and with purpose in mind is amazing! Don't ever leave SC !! you make this game fun to get involved with
You know, within the first couple seconds I was 'huh, this is complete BS'. But then I realized this the 'meaningful, unique, limited rewards in a MMO' moment I always hoped for. This is Kirito's unique Elucidator sword. This is King Arthur's unique Excalibur. This is the OG Jedi lottery in Star Wars Galaxy. And I'm all for this. Let the universe be a real place with real stakes and real trophies.
Jedi lottery?
Idk man, this sounds like such an exaggeration. Excalibur had a sister-sword, but besides that, it was one of a kind. Just like when Kirito got Excalibur in the series, it was the only version of the sword on the entire server.
This isn't even remotely close to either of those examples.
@@ThunderRod if you ever get paid to watch RUclips. “Death of a game Star Wars galaxy “ a game like no other . They had a promo lottery to not have to unlock Jedi hidden class.
@@BlakedaBullI remember this. Because of doing it the hard way..😅
This is also the ,,legendary, unique, dreaded sword which has been passed down in the Crach' n Craite family for generations. This is the mighty sword with which his great-grandfather's great-grandfather killed the Ice golem.'' And then the Witcher discovers that the sword is worthless because his own sword is three times better. 😄
Just got mine tonight! THANKS!!!
Some people might have been having a hard time finding one, but someone in my (small) org came across a bunch of gold tickets in a relatively short period of time, so most of us are now outfitted with one. Its a fun little ship, with some surprisingly long QT legs.
Honestly, this is a better advert for the event than whatever CIG has put out. Thanks for this, now I'm actually interested in going for one :)
It didn't last long. Got soft locked in my Cutty Red medbed.
Man if I had the money this would be my entire next 10 days lol
Good luck Armco !
Also something to note is that when you buy the F8C it is not goftsble either and you can only get one per account.
I really like that tbh. Kf it was giftable that opens the floodgates for the gray market vs account bound.
Bitesize review for the F8C:
>>>Agile as a Gladius, but with two Size 2 shields.
>>>Capable of fielding 8 gimbaled Size 2 guns
(on 2-4 special turret joints, so no point upscaling to size 3)
with two size-2 hardpoints left over!
>>>Its rental loadout is _ass,_ combining laser repeaters with ballistic cannons and not using the optional wing gimbal turret mounts.
Conclusion: *This thing is a monster* - it's a one-man Hurricane. It's a Vanguard that can turn. It's, as I said, a Gladius with ten times the shield hitpoints.
Now imagine what the F8A looks like.
I hadnt played the game in over a year when they announced this event, but man when i tell you i logged in so (lightning) fast and started farming lol I found my license about 6 hours after i started, made it back to turn in, melted half of my inventory and secured my F8. It was really fun and i hope they do more things like this in the future even if its with ships that are only available during IAE or some other yearly event.
This event has been really fun so far! Seems like the tickets are pretty easy to find, in the server I was at there were people with 5 of them...
Yeh the normal ones are all over the place. Whereas the real one is harder to find. Basically it's just another hustle to sell ships since everyone is on the no money til pyro movement

I'm only waiting for an Arrow Discount to finish up my chain to the Talon.
Of course the tickets are easy to find duh lol 300 bucks a pop for a ship that is awarded for free at the end of sq42. You fuggin kidding me CIG Bwhahaha
@@ONEMINUTEGROWER It was never going to be rewarded for free. Free in the sense of no real money spent maybe, but the plan was for it to cost UEC to buy in SC once you beat S42. And even that, people are now debating if that's actually going to be a thing anymore. They were adamant about $10k+ packages and beating S42 to be the only way to own this ship for years until now. I know things change in development, but this isn't a planned feature, it was a way to celebrate a game's launch by rewarding players who beat it with something neat. It was already somewhat tarnished by giving it out to $10k+ backers, and they had to tarnish it even more by offering it for sale to everyone. At this point there's nothing stopping them from scrapping that original plan for the ship completely and just selling it like a normal ship eventually.
@@EdwardDragon96Your chain most likely won't stop at the Talon. I thought so about the Cutlass and now I have a 600i😂

This is going to be crazy, I'm very excited
I love how this is both part an attempt to bring back players and then get them to spend again.
Exactly, it's a double win for CIG. Not so much a win for the fans, unless you've got too much money and not enough sense.
Love the vid and the positive vibes
Quick, a rare opportunity to give cig some more money.
If you get the ship with the platinum license, do you get to keep it after a wipe? And if you buy it with in game credits with the gold licence do you keep it or do you have to buy it again after the wipe? I dont own the game or a computer to run it and I'm curious on how this works. Man am I envious.
With the platinum ticket its yours to keep. Like you bought it with cash.
The gold ticket gives you a rental for 24 hours and the option to buy it eith real money.
You CAN NOT buy it with ingame credits (aUEC)
Found a golden ticket inside an HDMS outpost. Don't need a mission location, just any loot box, including the random outpost ones.
300$ for a ship is insane, starfield is 60$
These games aren't comparable
Happy travels 😎
U can get it in NPC armor and backpacks too along with the loot crates so check bodies! I got mine from an Elite npc backpack!! Happy Hunting CITIZENS!!
I missed the event due to my laptop being in service. Got it back during IAE anvil day and logged in to find that lots of players still had a couple golden licenses. Managed to find a kind player who handed one over and i got my ship. Hopefully there will be some other obtainable skins in game or in the shop down the road. I want to customize this beast
Looking forward to seeing everyone here in Los Angeles for CitizenCon!
I own the F-8 c and the executive edition.
Yeah, I have spent an entirely unreasonable amount of money to back this game.
Golden Ticket
That sounds familiar. Will we also be able to sit and scan all day and grind SDUs? Or just capitulate and buy all the resources to craft a Mamba Ex?
If I already own a F8C, is there any purpose in getting the golden ticket? A unique title or skin that comes with the ship, or nah?
Found my Golden Ticket at Kudre Ore on Daymar in a Grey Box on the Aussie Server
Do we know which loot boxes the gold ticket can be found in?
That's an incredible event idea! I love the platinum level challenge as well, that's what gaming should be about (sometimes)!
Yep, they've got us chasing an almost unobtainable dream-ship, so when the vast majority of participants inevitably fail, a good number of them will go to the shop and buy it! What a deal!
@@disky01 but you can't buy it without the ticket, can you?
@@Bukal9209 The golden ticket is very easy to find. It's not meant to be difficult, this is a sale hidden in an event. The platinum ticket is a carrot to get you to show up for the event. They're banking on a certain number of people deciding that buying the ship is still okay.
(Even though you're still supposed to be able to get it for free if you play through Squadron 42, but don't tell anyone that, CIG might lose sales!)
@Bukal9209 that's why CIG made the golden tickets so easy to find. It's a ship sale overlaid with a game event.
You can even find the tickets in the buildings of regular outposts.
if i get the card and get the link do we need to buy it within the ten days or can we wait till later?
I think this is a great idea to spark some positive interest in the game. I don't plan on buying it even if I find the golden ticket and I'm not skilled enough in combat to even pursue the platinum ticket but good luck to those of you interested in either.
If you find a gold token and redeem it, will the option to purchase the Warbond stay accessible to you forever or will that disappear after the event?
It will be like the other ships. Every so often during the year you will be able to buy it.
The Anvil F8C is the Civil Variant of the "Best" Fighter. The Anvil F8A Lightning. Good Hunt to everyone, THE ONE PIECE DOES EXIST!
Let the FOMO begin
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it still the case that everyone that buys and completes SQ42 will get an F8C on the PU for free?
No
Wow really fast turn around on this Vid, saw you asking for help making it last night but still a little surprised to see it already.
idk if anyone knows but the zesus us up for sale on the pledge store. Is that a limited time thing?
You can find it on hdms stations on ground on Hurston, no mission, no enemy npc and seamingly very few players do this, hence very safe. Found it on first HDMS theadus on hurston, first ground station i looted.
Hello Morp, grest vids, keep it up please as thus is how i get to live star citizen as i am not able to log on past the start screen, 30ks, so keep up the great work
For those who say its "very" common, I disagree. It is certainly attainable, but I wouldn't say the tickets are just a one-stop thing. Some people have definitely experienced that, but my personal numbers trying to find one last night:
Boxes looted: 117
Nine-Tails killed: 67
Finally found it in a tractor-beam box on a wrecked Cat.
I found 0 Halloween masks during this time as well, and in an equal amount of work earlier this week only found 2 masks. So I'd wager this is on-par with the more "rare" tier of subscriber items, but able to be found in a few more spots given it can show in any box or any NPC pocket.
I personally love that they did this, although I do wish there was a Concierge-purchasable skin also. There's simply not enough bonuses to concierge players, and doing a skin that celebrate the moment in time/birthday event would have been low-hanging fruit IMO.
I got super lucky and found a gold ticket in the very first lootbox at the random place my crate delivery mission sent me to. The mission bugged out but I didn't care, just raced back to Lorville to redeem the ticket.
I spent a whole afternoon looting boxes in vain. But yesterday, it only took me half an hour to find 2 golden tickets. It really depends on luck.
I wonder how long till nerf? I mean - at the current state of this ship - why would you buy any other fighter?
I was literally only a few IAE ships from wing commander and would have had the F8C either way at the end of November. I really dont mind everyone will have one without playing squadron but I think they should have at least given existing wing commanders the military varient as a show of respect.
do you just have to kill/defeat the dev or find and loot their body for platinum license?
I got a F8C ticket from a guild mate tonight, super excited to test it out in the morning!
So, I had a really amazing experience with this event (on a server that, as far as I know, had no streamers on it), and I feel horrible.
On my server the Platinum Ticket event popped up, and everyone on the server took it in droves of course... we all headed to the place the dev was at...The Jericho, and were surprised to find that the Dev was NOT in an F8C, but was instead piloting a JAVELIN!! So after a lot of initial chaos, the server pulled together and we brought that ship DOWN in a glorious blast!
As soon as it blew everyone turned on each other (which was expected of course) and there was a MASSIVE battle... I actually almost got the ticket at one point when I parked my Connie near the Dev's corpse floating in the wreckage and I EVAed over to their body, right as I was looting them though someone scooped me into the cargo bay of their ship (I think it was a Corsair, I am sure they were trying to scoop up the Dev's body though). Well I stood up, took out my SMG, and started heading towards the bridge to kill the pilot and take control of his ship when... someone blew up his ship (and me along with it).
Well anyway... a player did eventually get the ticket, and they ended up quantuming all over the system, stopping half way through routes, as they tried to figure out how to turn in the ticket. We all watched their every step on "F2" and tried to figure out their ever changing route. At one point I actually tried to get to them by quantuming to a point past them and dropping out manually part way through... I actually got within 1,000 KM of them doing this!
Eventually after 30-45 minutes they made a break for Hurston, and I even met them as they came out of Quantum and got a shot at them, but they then went into quantum again on their way to Lorville (with me in tow). I of course wanted to get the ticket from them, but I was also happy for them (corny I know, but yes I ACTUALLY was).
I should mention now that my desktop runs the game great, but it is having problems and is out of commission while I try to fix them, so I was using my old laptop (expensive gaming laptop, but several years old as well), and it doesn't run the game great when I get in "demanding" areas... Well, I got to Lorville (along with a LOT of other people... I think) and after a few seconds I saw a rough city scape ground, but things weren't rendering well... I saw the marker for the player with the ticket so I started heading towards it.. but the game was running on VERY low FPS all of a sudden. As I got near the marker I saw some ships, but they were moving like slide shows, and where the marker was there was just empty air, no ship was shown... the marker showed a couple hundred meters away, then all of a sudden I heard an "explosion" sound, and it started loading that I had died......
That's right, I accidentally rammed the person with the ticket... in an armistice zone... over a city... killing myself and killing them.
It became clear from server chat that this is indeed what had happened, and the body with the Platinum Ticket fell into an area where no one could retrieve it... not only had I robbed the person who had it from the ticket, I had robbed everyone from it... I didn't mean to, but I had, and I felt (and continue to feel) terrible......
I just feel like I had to confess this (it was a cool event though, with the Dev in a javelin!)...... sigh.....
See ya at Citizen Con!
Lol, with what ship am I goin to take down an F8C-Lightning if a dev is in one? I only have a chance if it is an on-foot-chase and only a marginal one, since I play with really bad frames.
Well after watching this video it might explain what I experienced last night. After I got the f8c, I began running Bounty missions. However that's not my normal Loop so they were the beginning missions. After completing one to garnish a little rep, I took another for the bounty. It ended up being an F8C executive, and he shredded me in no time. I actually had to look back on my recorded video to see what it was that took me out so quickly. After watching this video I have to wonder if it wasnt an npc but actually a dev. that handed me my butt on a platter.
So you find a ticket in the game so then you can purchase this ship with USD?
Gold ticket yes.
Platinum ticket is the ship for free.
I found my Golden Ticket at a survival shelter on MicroTech, so it isn't just locations that can have missions.
on the one hand, happy they're doing stuff like this to spice things up. but on the other, I'm extremely depressed about the fact that I would not stand a chance. either because I do not remotely have the disposable income for imaginary space ships, or because I can't even trade 70k credits worth of scrap without being fucking obliterated ingame by randos.
Its fine we can eventually get f8c ingame. And practice makes perfect. You will get that big trade profit eventually
One option is to hire an F8C escort of your own in future
cig makes an event exclusive for whales and sweats that are 24/7 online, how not to love them for that?
I will see you there
I love watching this game’s development but I find it funny to be excited over a ship in a game that still doesn’t have its core mechanics in place
The exact opposite of toxicity imo. Players were finding two, three or even four golden tickets. They were flying around, giving them away to players who couldn’t find them. Some cool people in this community for sure.
Love the idea think its great to see fresh approaches to making ships available. As pretty as it is. i too shall pass. For me i would love to get my hands on the merchantman, thats more my kinda gameplay. Cant wait
Unless you're a streamer there's zero chance of getting near a platinum ticket.
The point of it was always to get you to log in, seek out a gold ticket, feel like the platinum ticket is hopeless and make a purchase. It's a super fun way to get you to spend hundreds of dollars.
The only one I've seen so far was found by an org and given to the streamer in the group. The stream had 21 viewers.
Well I got my 3 friends we are going together looking for Platinum ticket! Corsair, Retaliator, Gladius & Mantis.

I'd imagine this will be an org level thing, with mostly PVP orgs helping their members to get a card. It will be interesting to see the outcome.
so does the gold license mean you can only rent the ship? not own it?
It will eventually give you the opportunity to buy it with real money if you follow the instructions. It's not a free ship, only the Platinum one is. Think of this like a very sneaky sale.
Golden tickets can be found just doing box delivery missions

If you find one of the gold tickets you can buy it with store credits for roughly 300$.

And that hasnt changed.
Found a Golden Ticket in the first bunker I ran this evening. Purchased the Warbond F8C. With x10 Badgers, it's just silly. Sounds like a minigun when it fires.

I didn't even find a golden ticket , is it in boxes .. laying around .. in enemies loot ??? did a lot of bunker missions but never found something
I think the Blade is more rare? As for the F7A I guess that may be a true on paper thing, but early backers we had the ability to buy a conversion kit which effectively makes the F7C into an F7A.
In any case I have the Exec F8C but I ain't jealous. I think this is the type of thing online worlds should do more often, though I do wonder just how many the "limit" is. They don't say and I do somewhat fear this is more CIGs idea of limited which really isn't.
"players who found it to purchase the ship from the website after successfully returning it to any location that has a rental kiosk and renting the F8C for 24 hours" ... lol so do we get to buy it or rent it cause im lost af??
honestly might be worth saving up tickets, if you can
How long will the gold license be valid once you own it?
"You have until 31st October to claim"
The rental is 24h.
Gold ticket here. Looted at The Necropolis during a personal delivery mission.
So many friendships will be ruined over these :)
Truly, it really is a strange idea considering CIG's interest in pushing multicrew. It sort of destroys the motivation to work alongside anyone else.
im glad i dont have to find a ticket lol, being a Praetorian level concierge i get the F8C Lighting executive edition for being so.. only cost me 15k to be this level and as soon as you do find either ticket the player will be tagged so the whole PU will come after them lol.
lo so basically you can only buy them, good salemen first game to raise $1 Billion and not be released?
Got me golden ticket (only works at rent kiosk) and bought it in the store with credits
Hopefully i can arm it to the teeth and then hunt down a platinum one I've got 9 days to do that and probably a 0% chance of actually doing it
'Makes me wonder what the citizens' perks from SQ42 would be if no longer the near-exclusivity of access to the F8C......
I am confused. I'm interested in this game but stopped following it years ago. You get to loot the opportunity to buy a ship? With real money?
Exactly. Welcome to Star Citizen.
Sucks it's only 24-hour use. I want one so bad. There has yet to be a dev in my server, sadly.
Whats the fastest way to find it
Try package retrieval missions. I did 3 and found a ticket in about an hour. Every loot box has a chance to spawn a ticket so pick missions that have a lot of loot boxes in the area. I've heard a lot of people finding them in bunker missions too.
I guess that's one way to get more people to log in an also spend more money at pledge store.
You can also find them at random outposts.
