I like the list, but i would have swapped out 1 in particular that i might even disagree with even being in the running for this list. I have issues with tbe F8C Lightning for 3 reasons. 1 is, i question its ability to be on this list. It was only available for limited purchase and may not be available to players, especially new players, going forward til the release of the game. 2, i believe a different Heavy fighter makes a better choice. T h e Scorpius has excellent speed, manueverability, good firepower, and, most important for a daily driver, MUCH more storage. It has 2 seperate externally accessed storages, both of which are bigger on their own tban the F8C. In addition to the better storage, it also has a fantastic gun rack for FPS support able to fit 2 long rifkes, 2 pistols, and 2 utility slots. More than double the fps support of the F8C. Then, finally, the 3rd reason, it can fit a a second person. Even if you are a solo flyer, the ability to make a quick buck transporting someone, rescuing someone, or helping a lost soul is absolutely monumental. Besides, if you were picking tbe F8C for being the best solo-pilotable fighter, its not. It performs suoerbly in all PVE scenarios, but it consistantly outperformed in PVP against the F7C, Fury, Arrow, M50, and P-72 Archimedes. Its powerful, but given that its out performed by at least 1 other similarly sized fighter that also has an optional space for a second person (The Hornet), i just think there are better "daily driver" options for its slot here in your list. :) I also woulda swapped the 400i with something really useful like the Vulture, but i get that you choose her cause she's pretty, i think do too ;) o7
I used red cutty as my daily driver, enough to store ptv buggy , since I do mostly bunker missions or clear enemies nest where I usually park my ship bit far and drive my ground vehicle to the outpost. having medbed also handy as sometimes I got some tier 3 injuries while doing bunker. I guess to each their own. oh and I can bedlog with this ship lol
@@rio20d i agree with you that purely on its own, Red is the obvious choice. That being said, i agree with his placement because later after you get access to larger ships, unlike the Red, the C8R can be stored as a snub in multple other craft staring with some other advance daily driver options that dont already have medical capabilities such as the Corsair or Hercules, meaning it retains use and value even after the point the Red is left behind as a daily driver. And it being spawnable from the smallest pads is really nice.
Taurus! So many youtuber's ignore it, and it's such a fantastic daily. Thank you for including it! I would argue that the Titan still deserves the honorable mention spot over the Syulen, as it's better in almost every way ;-)
The Vanguard has been my daily for years too, but the capacitor situation really sucks for it. It's so dumb that you can put 4 S5s on the Corsair and each one gets almost 4x the shots of a single one on the VG despite both ships having the same power plants and coolers.
Kinda weird to not mention a C2. It is effectively a 1 crew ship and the pilot has 2 S5 weapons, which you can mount Ballistic Gatling guns with 2800 ammo each. You can absolutely smoke ERT's and have the massive cargo hold to steal all of the loot out of the ships that you soft death / kill, all solo. With the big shields to tank hits and a big quantum drive to get around the verse quickly. Not to mention the ship is no slouch flying around in general, despite being on the slightly bigger side. This ship is the king of multi-purpose PvE right now, even solo.
@@asambi69 Easy enough in PvE to kill enemy fighters using spacebrake and reverse boost to get guns on target. The C2 also has a massive quantity of both noise and flares to help with missile locks. I'm assuming we're not talking about PvP here because pretty much everything in this video gets smoked in a dogfight depending on pilot skills and it doesn't seem the point of this topic anyway.
@@Entar0I consider PvP performance important in a DD because we will encounter PvP from time to time. I do agree with you most DDs will get owned in a PvP encounter, but that’s where looking at speed/maneuverability, pilot weapons, and shields/Hull are important when matching your play style with the best ship
@@jvoodoochild2755 Fair enough point, but the C2 still performs strongly given that definition compared to other options mentioned. Good Hull HP and Big Shields to tank hits while attempting to jump/run, Massive supply of countermeasures compared to other ships, genuinely Good Speed and maneuverability as compared, and with 2 decent remote turrets a single crew member can jump between if you are +1. I understand it may not be everyone's cup of tea but it doesn't change what it is in 3.21. of the mid-sized DD discussion, It kinda ultimately boils down to whether you want the the 6 guns of a Corsair or not. If not, C2.
Due to the new update done about a month ago, the wings no longer rip off the corsair much at all. I have only lost a wing in the last week from specifically getting rammed by NPCs while dogfighting
My Connie Taurus keeps getting better. Especially being one of the best ships for VHRT/ERT with illegal cargo transfers from soft death ships. So good!
Yeah. The Taurus is a very nice ship. Fast way from ground to Cockpit. A useful upper turret, and, with the tractor beam, a very good lower turret. Big and easy access cargo hold. Nice extra Cargo hold in the back. And enough firepower and mobility for NPC fights.
As long as you aren't looking for ship to ship combat, mining, salvage, cargo, ground vehicle transport...or pretty much anything other than flying around and maybe doing bunker missions but not ideal for that either as you'd have to land pretty far away in some cases and with no ground vehicle inside, you'd have to walk quite a lot.
I think the Pisces is one of the more perfectly designed ships, it excels with it's in game purpose and isn't OP. It's very handy ship to have around. It's meant to be a short distance explorer ship that is stored in the hangars of larger ships. It did the job so well that people adopted it as a "Starter" ship even though that isn't its purpose. This is why it doesn't have a bed, as it's meant to be part of a larger ship... which would have beds. It also explains why it's quantum travel is lackluster, but it's in atmosphere travel is top tier for exploring and hopping. It can basically fly forever in atmosphere due to its hydrogen intake which generates fuel for you while you are in atmo. It's so small and maneuverable too, making it fun to pilot. Also being able to spawn it from the tiny hangars in the outposts is awesome. Once fuel prices spike I imagine this ship will become far more popular as well, it's by far the most efficient with hydrogen fuel by a wide margin. You almost don't ever need to refuel it.
I started playing in October of '22, and found your channel real fast after starting to play.. it's been a great source of information DedLeader.. keep it up!
For new solo player you can use the 315p, a bit less weapon then the other ships from the 300 series but a doubled size cargo bay, a bigger quantum engine/fueltank and a tractor beam, great to take small boxes from drug dealers. But I think you're right for the Taurus, I choose to buy one way before we had the tractor beam knowing it would be a great ship for cargo hauling solo.
I used to daily drive around in a Freelancer Max all the time. ROC mining, cargo hauling/trading and I could tackle a good few bounty missions with it. When I got my hands on the C1 Spirit though it became a favorite and kind of replaced the FMax. Pleasant cargo space and plenty of room for a vehicle to roll up into including the ROC. Only problem is the extra small hangars are given to this extra wide ship... if you aren't careful you can snag the wings or the front and back end of the ship. CiG should have forbid the spaceports from giving you the small hangars for it imo.
Ares Inferno I believe makes a decent daily ship, a substitute to F8C. Decent HP, shield, insane fire power, fastest QD that can cross the system a good couple of times, looks great, easy to get in and out, I don't know what else really, it's just a good daily ship imo. Crusader ships are all great.
I really want to like the inferno but the ion is just way better for me, you get infinite ammo and the ion is actually accurate enough to hit an average sized ship from 4.5km away so you can get out of dogfighting smaller ships most of the time
I just had a hell of a time at IAE trying to decide between the two ships and went with the Ion in the end for the reasons you mentioned.@@Milkman-bu9es
@@Milkman-bu9es Was my thinking before but since the ballistics changes, it literally is a beast(inferno), not that I could tell the difference pre changes. I could do a couple single erts and destroy all 4 ships without having to rearm in a minute, a few hundred rounds per ship. You can also put more power to shields and boost. There's enough ammo even if you miss, unlike the Ion which if you miss you don't do damage. I like the painting on the inferno more too. You should give it a go, for Idrises Ion may be better. With hydrogen running out pretty quickly you still need to rearm anyways and get missiles too. Still yet to try inferno with idris. I go to ert targets and before everyone else in party comes, the fight is already over its insane. I should also get an Ion to try once more^^
@@Ruby_Mochii I have never liked the inferno, I don't want to like the inferno, but it is undeniably in a better place than the ion right now. It's pretty much an S tier bounty ship right now too, I would argue even better than the F8C
@@adamconner9302 I agree. I did all my bounties leveling up to ERTs in the F8C, and grinded ERTs in the F8C for a couple days. It was good fun, and the F8C keeps it kinda engaging and has a decent ttk. Tried out the Inferno, was surprised how easy it was to chew through ships and with surprising ammo efficiency. Still an ingame buy for me, but now much more appealing than the Eclipse.
Id argue that Mustang Beta, 125a, 325a all make excellent daily drivers. Mustang beta cause its surprisingly zippy and has a good interior space albeit 0 scu. 125a is also a S1 ship (similar to pisces) plus its exceptionally agile and fast for a tiny ship with the best hydrogen scoop ingame. Has a bed, as well as cargo! Its a fantastic little ship. 325a is just a bigger 125a so it shares most of the pros of the 125a + extra weapon hardpoint!
Great video. I would also add the Nomad to the list. It has a good amount of cargo storage for its size, a bed and can fit some ground vehicles in the back like the Cyclone making it really good for bunkers.
Not to mention it has a pilot controllable tractor beam now. For all other ships with tractor beams you have to leave the pilot seat and move to another seat/turret to work the tractor beam. Not so for the Nomad. A very versatile ship indeed.
@@skullhqx Great point, I forgot about the tractor beam. I think at the moment it is one of my favourite ships, you can do so much in it and it feels really nice to fly. I would also love to see a slightly larger version that can have a 2 person crew with maybe an underside turret with one of the two turrets being controlled by the 2nd person and a larger cargo capacity.
I like the Cutlass black for several reasons: Rear & side doors for easier loading/unloading and entry/exit. With the new update, side doors can be used for entry on planetside Generous missile capacity when equipped right Decent cargo capacity and relatively easy to load and transport vehicles up to cyclone/roc Good ground clearance + not overly large footprint makes for easy handling on landing in hangars and planetside, especially in rugged terrain
A good allrounder. I think if somebody is new or at the beginning - this ship have more opportunities. It is slower than other ship, but can get a heavy fighter with a certain loadout.
Taurus and Nomad are my two main. It used to be the Taurus and Titan, but having those tractor beams and ability to load vehicles opens up all kinds of options. I have the C8R and it's an indispensable utility ship. Can be retrieved anywhere quickly. zips around atmo nicely and lands anywhere.

would love to see the zues in this list when it comes out, i have a feeling the ES and MR going to be good daily driver as they are medium class ships bout the same as the spirit, freelncer and cutless i also like that the medium multi role ships all have that one multi role hull and then they split doing diffrent things for their alternet freelancer can do exploring spirit is a bomber cutless has ironicly a unique medical ship and the zues going to have emp
I feel like the developers have made it pretty abundantly clear that the Zeus is going to be a multi-crew ship. With its component loadout it'll have some pretty heavy engineering requirements. Most of the bigger ships will be significantly harder to solo pilot post engineering, which will come before the Zeus
@@ABrutalAnimal the devs have actually said they’re planning on making the Zeus completely solo viable, trying to have all its components and utility such as the emp be controlled by the pilot but also by crew if you want them, combined with the small footprint moving around the ship to repair won’t be too difficult. Obviously all ships that aren’t single seaters will be harder to solo when engineering arrives but the devs (at least currently, it could change in the next year as we approach the zeus’ release) don’t currently plan on making the zeus need multiple crew members to be effective
I’m waiting for SQ42 to build a rig for SC, but my plan is to have the MSR as my Go-To ship, which I guess is different than a Daily Driver. I’m intrigued with Data game play and the MSR has that as its primary purpose with a decent cargo hold for making some side money on data runs. Since PvP isn’t my thing, fast and durable are my desired features which, for now, the MSR has. Thanks for the content.
@@DedLeader 100% and since I’m not playing the game I don’t know all those quality of life issues that will effect my willingness to have one ship or another as a DD
By far the Banu Defender is my favorite traveling ship. It gets out of atmo almost as fast as the herald, and it has room for a 1scu crate. The one I like best for bunker missions on Hurston is the C8R. It's also great for 890J missions for landing in the hangar quickly, and it can clear hostiles in the hangar because it's easy to maneuver inside the 890 hangar. That said, the Cutlass Red is a good all arounder.
My top 5 1. Corsair - the large Cargo hold makes cargo running viable, able to make 20k or more depending on the run, ROC mining, and cable to carry the Storm, its combat ability is good, if you're skilled enough you can do VLRTs and LRTs, and it shreds HRTs and VHRTs 2. Redeemer - I just like flying it, also good at LRTs and MRTs solo, and if you have a friend or two you can take down the stolen Idris easily. 3. F8C - Combat 4. C1 - Good cargo, speed, and fire power, I'd stick with Cargo and ROC mining with it, but it can handle VLRTs, and LRTs, thought its a bit more difficult. 5. Gladius - My favorite Fighter, feels the most refined ship in the entire game to me.
The redeemer is still the perfect daily driver for me because it's very tanky and lets me do lots of shenanigans without worrying. Plus the new skin is awesome!
I’m a Drake Corsair DD myself but his view on it is perfectly on the nose I would not recommend it for people that much prefer mercenary work or for people who are not at least an expert level at piloting as unlike the constellation series it takes a bit more skill to pilot and navigate with. Especially on landing with folding those wings. I absolutely love my corsair and it is my all-time favorite daily driver, but I think he’s very correct giving it an honorable mention, it’s not something you wanna promote as a DD. To a wide community.
Corsair hasn't had any of the "out of control" issues for a long time now. It's probably been several updates and about half a year since this has been fixed. Thruster health was drastically increased (each one now has more HP than entire hull). Also, the Corsair is perfectly flyable without a wing or even missing all the wings.
I imagine that most people will disagree with me because there is no tractor beam and it's a ball ache to get to the pilot seat.. BUT.. the mercury star runner is my absolute fave with the taurus coming in close second. Its beautiful inside, it looks like there will be some pretty cool fetaures down the road relating to scanning, it has it's cheeky little smuggling storage but also a heap of normal storage space and man, is it quick.
I'm loving the C1 as a daily. the straight thru design with room for a Mule, Roc, Cyclone or small ground vehicles is great. No absurd twists and turns to get in and get things done. Love it!
The straight through design philosophy works great and is something the Spirit series has going for it. For me its profile is too wide and I don't like the Crusader cockpits, but finding your favourite daily is always great!
The problem with the idea of a daily driver, for me, is there aren't enough days in the week to drive the ones I really like driving every day. But I would honestly say the Corsair is my current favorite. I think they fixed some of the bugs. I dumped all the gimbles so am running 4 size-5's in the nose and 2 size-4's on the wings. It shreds everything. The lack of maneuvering compared to similar ships just makes it slightly more challenging. In fact, the biggest challenge so far is to only soft-death targets. I've got the wing guns on the alt-fire group so that I can switch to just those when I have their shields down and some hull damage on them already. But it's still a bit tricky. Repeatedly I'll be firing, see the shields go down and the hull starting to redden, let off the trigger, only to have it still blow up because of the bolts still in flight. Happens that fast with size-5's. So I've been focusing on VHRT's and HRT's for practice.
As much as I love my 400i and like the C1 Spirit (and kinda hate the Cutty aesthetically) , the Cutlass Black remains the best daily driver for solo as well as duo and the best bang per buck. It's a much more capable "fighter" than anything else in its class, especially when you learn to use your VTOL properly and get at least a semi-decent gunner (then it can actually give most dedicated fighters a run for their money). Cargo space is more than enough for almost any sort of shenanigans and it's relatively compact and agile so you're in and out of the AO pretty quickly with finding a landing spot being pretty easy as well. And it's also a great dropship. It won't straight up beat everything out there but when flown properly, it can easily survive encounters with anything in the verse and live to tell the tale.
@@DedLeader Can confirm. The engines are almost impossible to take out now. It's basically equivalent to the Connie in survivability now. More DPS, but less manueverable.
I really like the idea of the Corsair as my daily driver, even with doing combat missions. I will admit there are many things I don't like with it though in the current patch. None of the doors auto open and the suit locker will swallow you up into the geometry of the ship. It rocks at doing HRT type bounties (still working to unlock ERT) and when some extra loose cargo is found it has the storage to take it and safely run it to an appropriate lost cargo delivery location. For other less space combat focused jaunts around the verse I enjoy using the Cutlass Black or MSR. That said, when I get the credits saved up I'm getting a Constellation Phoenix and flying in style.
Nice choice, I would love to add Corsair to this list because it is amazing all-round ship and now it is FIXED, it is easier to destroy whole ship than engine. Test it, so far for me it is perfect.
For the Corsair. Since they improved the HP of the engines making each of them have the health 1/3rd the health of the entire ship it now feels tankier than the Constellation that I end up breaking the engines more often when I get rammed in ERTs. Can't disagree with the cargo of the Taurus but... CORSAIR OP ❤
Out of your favorites the C1, C8R and Taurus are my favorites too. The Taurus is getting a bit old but aged a lot better than other ships. Other small daily drivers that could work well are imho the Cutter Scout and the 125a. The Zeus could be better than the C1 depending on how agile it is compared to the C1. For this reason i have a C1 and CCU's for all 3 Zeus variants instead of a Zeus CL with the C1 loaner. Most likely ill get the Zeus ES and MR anyways and decide then if i CCU the C1 to a CL.
I find the F8C really useful to consistently win at combat. It's on the upper tier of raw power, but can be defeated by a skilled gladius/arrow/blade pilot. The Taurus is insane on profit when you factor in the ability to collect cargo from PvE bounties. I see no reason to fly the Banu if you have access to the F8C, but many missed the event, so it's a solid enough alternative, though I personally prefer vanguards sans F8C. The C1 will be replaced by the Zeus pretty effectively when it arrives unless the Zeus is absolutely crew dependent and a pig to fly for it's size. I personally prefer the Cutty Red to the C8R on the basis that I can put a crossfield in it and get around a lot faster.
My personal top 5 goes as follows: Prowler Gladius C1 C2 315p 315p, C1. and C2 are pure utility in their appropriate sizes. Gladius is a phenomenal ship and also the only light fighter(i know of) with a dual weapon rack and space for magazines so she'll take you down to a bunker for an Entrenched Bounty just fine. Prowler is best ship in the game. Period. Got small targets? Gimbal size 4 with repeaters on the turret to shred them. Hunting larger prey? Upscale to size 5's for big damage, albiet in small bursts+ some distortions on the turret for a little extra help. It's got 16 jump seats and two pilot seats, 16 weapon racks, and can be controlled from the pilot seat or co-pilot seat. The valkyrie has more fire power and space for vehicles, but after its dropped its troops and goes down to a skeleton crew it becomes far too vulnerable. The Prowler can get in, drop off the troops, and then stick around as escort operating at full firepower with only one person on board. Not to mention it looks cool😂
@@SCTimbal yeahh its a large trade off, but i enjoy it for casual use. I haven't tried fitting a 1SCU box in the back door but i have fit a Rhino in the lane between the drop "seats" and doors. I'll give it a go when 3.22 drops and we get purchasable storage boxes that actually work
Great timing on this video, things have changed a lot since 3.17. they need to do a rework on the freelancer series, and maybe it will someday make the list.
Except for the 400i .... Great List.... I also suggest the cutter or cutter scout... it has a HUGE fuel tank for a S1 Quantum drive. once you upgrade it ...its like having unlimited fuel. Cutter is also quick to spawn and has a range to get you all over the verse. Also the c8 pieces rescue med bed not only heals you but it fills up your food and thirst meter. So anytime your Thirsty or Hungry... You just spawn one and sit in the bed and your all hydrated or fed. I spawn them at hangars all the time to "fix that" and stock up on drinks and med pens and then I either fly it or store it depending on what i'm doing.
Damn, I own both the regular and scout... (real money own) it felt like the tank wasn't as big last time i flew it. Anyway they are LTI and I will upgrade them to other ships in the future. @@DedLeader
I suppose it's probably too expensive, and perhaps considered too large, but I love my 600i Explorer (must be the Explorer variant) for day-to-day use. I wanted to love the 400i, but I think the the thing that turns me off the most is the narrow little slit (vertically speaking) of a front windshield in the cockpit. I really love a ship with a big, wide, unobstructed view. It's true, you can't use the turrets without additional crew, but I find the 3 size 5 cannon and 16 size 3 missiles work out fine in most instances. At least, given that you have some really nice shields as well. (Upgrade the stock shields to FR-86 or equivalent, and the Quantum Drive to an XL-1.) One day, once they implement the promised rework, the 600i Explorer should have a med-bed and an even better (more accessible) vehicle/cargo bay too. But . . . well, it's CIG, so who knows what decade that may actually come to pass. Still, we can hope.
I do enjoy the 600i but there's just so much unusable space in it that it irritates me personally. If they just made even just some gimicky things work in it, it would be a lot better. Store the fridge with drinkable drinks and make the TV usable and then we'd be talking! But yeah that 600i rework can't come soon enough!
loved the videio, one thing though....and a technicality due to a bug on the hornet, thruster bug means hornet can beat f8c with equal skill pilots. Vanguard is perfect daily fighter
Same, I even got a Nox Kue for it, (because it's silverish) still bounces around heaps. They better do a rework to makesure the X1 fits in there well when they release it!
7:48 - Most inexperienced or unknowing players wouldn't consider it sure However. Most SKILLED & EXPERIENCED pilots will almost always keep the "Harmacy" as a daily driver. It is more than capable of going toe-to-toe with a Hammerhead and larger ships, and WIN. And yes I'm talking about a 100% Veteran Pilot on both ships as well as a fully crewed Hammerhead and other larger ships. It's nimble, it can easily stay in fast paced blind spots, and it can quite easily take out every weapon/system on any ship. Those 'pea shooters' as you call them, are more than capable. It also has an increased thruster speed vs the original variant. 9:42 - 1. If you get clipped, you can power/cycle the opposing thrusters in your console to match the damaged ones so your no longer 'spinning' I've had my main wing shorn off and severe damage to my left and still was able to keep the ship steady as an arrow. 2. It's quite capable in space combat 3. Decent for bounties, pvp, and cargo runs if your not needing that large of a space.
As part of the nerfs the F8C is having it's quantum removed and will essentially be a carrier launched craft, it will also have both it's shield generators changed from S2 to S1, so it will have the shield of a super hornet, not of a harbinger (3k instead of 20k shield) another minor nerf is the removal of the missiles. It will still be a great DPS carrier-based fighter, but it's really not good to recommend as a daily driver.
Problem with the 400i is the low firepower and the very small cargo bay. And since you can find many cargo boxes in the vers i prefer the Taurus over the 400i
@vonrosphe3098 That's a fair comment. Have you tried loading a few 2SCU boxes on the back wall of the 400i hanger. I think you can get three there nicely, giving you a lot of extra looting storage.
I you are to retain only 3 ships you should have a cheap starter ship, a general utility daily driver ship and a starter mining or salvage ship or fighter depending on how you like to specialize
I took the Corsair out of my hanger after Pyro the 600i is more effective at bounties and getting away from trouble. It is powerful but those weapons can't hit pvpers. 400i is back as my daily and Defender as always.
Star Runner was missed - great daily driver as it has 104 cargo, bed for logging out, fast in atmo (New fuel map makes it cheap to fly now) and can carry up to a URSA vehicle for bunkers or ROCS for mining. A can do all kinda ship :) Only con is she is light on pilot firepower but makes up for it with super speed :)
Well they said an extra entrance was on the gold pass ( be in the section between the bridge and habitat/recreation section which is great for a natural airlock space), but the extra doors will be a blessing when they implement interior fire from component damage and engineering functions. With so many doors you can compartment a fire and vent it. If you don't have a door between you and the component that blew out then you are in for a fury death. So it's a con now, but a pro later when they hash out the real game :)
I love how the 400i looks but it’s big nose and terrible cockpit visibility mean the constellation, cutlass, spirit, corsair or even 600i explorer make more sense 😢
600i: Oddly enough an ERT master atm. Corsair: so versatile as it can fit a variety of vehicles in the back, has a first class armory and packs a serious punch. Scorpius: Packs enough punch for all bounty levels and has a bit more versatility than most bedless ships Aquila: fastest of all the Connies so can actually get in and out of brawls with most big ships and still very versatile. Syulen: Just fun and agile and somewhat versatile despite being quite fragile and large. Do not recommend for noobs. Not recommended: F8c, despite firepower is quite fragile to missiles, firepower is decent but overall gun size is small. Spirit series: Trash but pretty. Wasted space, big target, low gen power for guns… freelancer max better for hauling and Cutty black better for versatility. Single point of entry makes it the most susceptible to piracy of all its competitors. Plenty of other ships on this list are great for support but not daily drivers. 400i is weak. If all you want to do is run away then ok, I guess?
I have anything from a Warden, to C1 spirit, phoenix, carrack etc... unless I have a specific objective, my daily driver is still the C8R. best daily driver for just going around, maybe picking up the odd bunker mission.
I was worried, when I retired ... that I'd run out of things to keep me busy but, playing and figuring out this game ...I'm not worried anymore :) so much fun. Heer's a dumb question.... What do you youngins mean when you say something like... "back when the (meta) was in bunkers" ? or "the (meta) is in pvp" .... I have a guess but I'm not sure. Thanks ahead of time for anyone who takes the time to answer !
Meta = most effective tactic available. So when something is ‘meta’ it’s usually the best thing at that time, and not necessarily a tactic, but maybe a ship, weapon, etc.
I want to like the Banu Defender but I can’t get over the view from the cockpit. I generally don’t like not sitting in the center of the ship, and I really don’t like how the wings extend into the peripheral vision of your view.
Have all those ships and the least fav is the F8, feels so cheesy and underwhelming. Agree on the C1, such an excellent allrounder, and the the cute Gatac Syulen, being the newest kid on the block with all the bells and whistles. Pisces rescue unless your in a group is surplus to requirement.
Bro, the F8C is kinda expensive for a new player.. I actually prefer a Pisces for ‘admin runs’ and legal bunkers, a C2 if I’m stocking up on torpedoes and missiles
after they fix the ares ion is my daily driver. i can use it for looting bcus of ships inventory witch is p big + a weapon rack. and ofc my main gameplay bounty hunting.
Cool recommendation with the F8C... If we mortals ACTUALLY could get our hands on it... Last info i had, you needed one of them fancy tickets to even be "allowed" to buy one. Utter bollocks they pulled with this thing.
@@DedLeader I wonder how long it will take for it to actually be sold to the wider public. I feel like they have driven themselves into the corner of exclusivity with this one, lest they anger the ones who got it during their little contest. Anyway, a lot of very nice ships on that list. My personal pick is actually the Corsair since i avoid PvP anyway ^^
0:00 - Introduction
2:15 - The Banu Defender
3:15 - Constellation Taurus
4:10 - F8C Lightening
5:35 - Origin 400i
6:30 - Spirit C1
7:40 - C8R Pisces Rescue
8:50 - Drake Corsair (Honorable Mention)
9:50 - Gatac Syulen (Honorable Mention)
For me Corsair and f8c is best idk why 400i is there but understandable
Haven't finished the video, but strange to not see 600i in this list
I also woulda swapped the 400i with something really useful like the Vulture, but i get that you choose her cause she's pretty, i think do too ;)
o7
I would argue that the Titan still deserves the honorable mention spot over the Syulen, as it's better in almost every way ;-)
been playing the game for 2 weeks, and can't get enough of it
I've only been playing "intensively" for the last two years, still can't get enough!
Been playing for 3 years now still have so much fun with it. Welcome!
Such a great game! Backer since 2017, still loving it!
Much as I love all the ships on this list I find myself using the Vanguard more than any other ship.
Very fair, I used a while back but haven't revisited them in a few patches!
I agree with evil
To each their own there are many good daily drivers.
Awesome video man
The Vanguard has been my daily for years too, but the capacitor situation really sucks for it.
A single fighter can own you from the rear blind spot.
@@asambi69In PvP. True. That is a good argument, although personally I think I'd be toast in PvP no matter the ship I use.
If not, C2.
The C1 is my favorite. I'm new to SC and I fell in love with it the second I saw the Home Depot like commercial they released with it.
Due to the new update done about a month ago, the wings no longer rip off the corsair much at all. I have only lost a wing in the last week from specifically getting rammed by NPCs while dogfighting
I accidentally clipped a target with my wings and it didn’t fall off
Corsair will almost always lose a gun or two when bounties smash into you now though
I was using the Pisces rescue as my daily driver a lot this past year. It really is perfect as long as you aren’t looking for ship to ship combat.
I have been using the glaive as a daily, my favourite ship in game. I mostly do combat so its one of the best for it.
I like the Cutlass black for several reasons:
Rear & side doors for easier loading/unloading and entry/exit. With the new update, side doors can be used for entry on planetside
Generous missile capacity when equipped right
Decent cargo capacity and relatively easy to load and transport vehicles up to cyclone/roc
Good ground clearance + not overly large footprint makes for easy handling on landing in hangars and planetside, especially in rugged terrain

The A1 has become mine. It's speedy, sexy, manueverable, and combat capable. Also i have beds and storage lockers
Since the Gatac Syulen came out, I can't get out of it! Love this ship! Previously, my Daily driver was the Cutty Red or the C8R Pisces rescue.
would love to see the zues in this list when it comes out, i have a feeling the ES and MR going to be good daily driver as they are medium class ships bout the same as the spirit, freelncer and cutless
i also like that the medium multi role ships all have that one multi role hull and then they split doing diffrent things for their alternet
freelancer can do exploring
spirit is a bomber
cutless has ironicly a unique medical ship
and the zues going to have emp
I love the MSR but all those doors to get in and out really grinded my gears after a while!
@@DedLeader 100% and since I’m not playing the game I don’t know all those quality of life issues that will effect my willingness to have one ship or another as a DD
MSR here too, it's due for a rework and I do hope they add a second exit
Love MSR too!! The jack of all trades ship :)
I'm leaning towards grabbing a 600i daily flyer for when I'm just exploring or doing ground based contracts.
Had the 400i as my daily driver during your last video, and i still have it today. Waiting for the X1 to make it a bit more fun too
By far the Banu Defender is my favorite traveling ship.
C1 and C8R for me. If only the C1 cargo bay was a tiny bit taller to fit the C8R in it!
My top 5
1. Corsair - the large Cargo hold makes cargo running viable, able to make 20k or more depending on the run, ROC mining, and cable to carry the Storm, its combat ability is good, if you're skilled enough you can do VLRTs and LRTs, and it shreds HRTs and VHRTs
2. Redeemer - I just like flying it, also good at LRTs and MRTs solo, and if you have a friend or two you can take down the stolen Idris easily.
3. F8C - Combat
Always comes stocked with drinks and snacks too!
Same! I just keep coming back to it!
I absolutely love the Corsair. If it was a bit tankier it would be an absolute god.
Can confirm, have started the motor of a scooter I was repairing with an oily rag next to the intake.
The more I play, the more I respect a ship I can get in and out of easily.
@@DedLeader exactly! When I play solo I usually go for a Pisces or Reliant
Another vid already! Keep this up dedleader!
Thanks! I'm aiming to be more frequent especially with this 3.22 patch incoming!
Nomad is pretty much perfect for me if I don't need to haul a ton of cargo. Eyeing the zues mkII es as a possible replacement.
It won't straight up beat everything out there but when flown properly, it can easily survive encounters with anything in the verse and live to tell the tale.
thanks for reminding me the banu defender exists, and that the syulen really just is the field stripped and HEAVILY discounted (pledge) defender
They actually "fixed" the corsair recently by buffing its component HP pretty significantly.
Oh really? I'll have to check it out!
C1 is my daily. And I got the Syulen just for a fun running around ship.
Freelancer MAX should have made this list! Great video tho!
Thanks for the just!
My top five
Spirit C1
Banu Defender
Terrapin
F8C
Star Runner
As a side note I saw a video by citizen Kate showing hull munching in EPTU 3.22 can not wait.
Recommending the f8c is wild.
Love my Corsair personally
Very disappointed to see that the best ship in the game currently, the Mustang Alpha, didn't make the list.
My personal top 5 goes as follows:
Prowler
Gladius
C1
C2
315p
315p, C1. and C2 are pure utility in their appropriate sizes.
I love my Prowler but she has ZERO space for anything larger than box mission boxes. Can't wait for stealth to come back into the game, though!
Freelancer made my last list but I just couldn't see myself using it this patch
Sadly they patched that Cutter fuel tank, it was on this list until I saw it's new range.
(Upgrade the stock shields to FR-86 or equivalent, and the Quantum Drive to an XL-1.)
One day, once they implement the promised rework, the 600i Explorer should have a med-bed and an even better (more accessible) vehicle/cargo bay too. But . . . well, it's CIG, so who knows what decade that may actually come to pass.
Vanguard is perfect daily fighter
ah Meridian,
i keep trying to get my Nox into the parking bay till it works, next year.
Mercury is nice aswell.
Same, I even got a Nox Kue for it, (because it's silverish) still bounces around heaps. They better do a rework to makesure the X1 fits in there well when they release it!
I either daily my Vanguard with the torpedo's or my Scorpius at the moment
ngl i love my 890 with the pisces on board and some figther i mean 890 fuel is now affordable its like a dream u should try it
Still love 400i been using the Spirit a bit always run around in my pisces.
7:48 - Most inexperienced or unknowing players wouldn't consider it sure
However.
9:42 -
1. If you get clipped, you can power/cycle the opposing thrusters in your console to match the damaged ones so your no longer 'spinning'
I've had my main wing shorn off and severe damage to my left and still was able to keep the ship steady as an arrow.
2. It's quite capable in space combat
3. Decent for bounties, pvp, and cargo runs if your not needing that large of a space.
Mercury Star Runner for me.
Apparently the corsair wing issue is gone more or less. They doubled the health of the wings so they have more health than the ship itself.
Corsair for me. With 4 s5 deadbolt and 2 s4 gatling it's just a beast.
been obsessed with my 600i as a daily for some time now
wow, a ship recommendation video I can actually agree with!
Got a Gatac and F8, and I often used my Warden before. Have tried the 400i, which is a great all-rounder.
400i is back as my daily and Defender as always.
the cutty black is the ultimate daily driver
I love my C8R. Sadly, the headlights are not working, so landing at night is currently difficult. Still, I love using it.
At least the lights on the top go flashy flashy tho so people can see you crash in the dark easier!
@DedLeader True. I am more concerned with players crashing into me, even with the wee woo light bright Pisces goodness.
Best daily driver is the cutty red. Can heal, has internal storage, can load up a ground vehicle.
The fighter storage is external storage that is publicly shared. I wouldn’t keep anything in there you aren’t comfortable with me looting.
Don't forget the other cons. The long way to cockpit and the missing second entrance.
They fixed the Corsair wing issue. The thing is a tank now and it's really hard to damage the wings in combat.
Banu Defender is by far my favorite daily driver.
I love how the 400i looks but it’s big nose and terrible cockpit visibility mean the constellation, cutlass, spirit, corsair or even 600i explorer make more sense 😢
Solid picks o7
600i: Oddly enough an ERT master atm.
Corsair: so versatile as it can fit a variety of vehicles in the back, has a first class armory and packs a serious punch.
Scorpius: Packs enough punch for all bounty levels and has a bit more versatility than most bedless ships
Aquila: fastest of all the Connies so can actually get in and out of brawls with most big ships and still very versatile.
Syulen: Just fun and agile and somewhat versatile despite being quite fragile and large. Do not recommend for noobs.
Not recommended:
F8c, despite firepower is quite fragile to missiles, firepower is decent but overall gun size is small.
I have anything from a Warden, to C1 spirit, phoenix, carrack etc... unless I have a specific objective, my daily driver is still the C8R. best daily driver for just going around, maybe picking up the odd bunker mission.
the c1 made it in your list? unforgivable! 🤣
jokes aside, thx for your content!
I may have to take a closer look at the spirit mainly because it kinda reminds me of the normandy from mass effect.
I’ve been binge piloting the snuylen
@@SnazMC Thank you sir..
with the new cargo item containers pices will become a bunker mule
I want to like the Banu Defender but I can’t get over the view from the cockpit. I generally don’t like not sitting in the center of the ship, and I really don’t like how the wings extend into the peripheral vision of your view.
Have all those ships and the least fav is the F8, feels so cheesy and underwhelming. Agree on the C1, such an excellent allrounder, and the the cute Gatac Syulen, being the newest kid on the block with all the bells and whistles. Pisces rescue unless your in a group is surplus to requirement.
love the videos keep it up man
Bro, the F8C is kinda expensive for a new player.. I actually prefer a Pisces for ‘admin runs’ and legal bunkers, a C2 if I’m stocking up on torpedoes and missiles
Well yeah, but the topic is best daily driver. Not best newbie ship.
Daily driver list is:
Cutty
Taurus
600ie (rework)
C2/M2/A2
Any of these is or will be solid as a solo
I absolutely love my defender I pledged it! Needs a kitchen tho.
after they fix the ares ion is my daily driver. i can use it for looting bcus of ships inventory witch is p big + a weapon rack. and ofc my main gameplay bounty hunting.
Really cool stuff!
All you're missing is a little nore suitable background music and you'd sound perfect bud!
Awesome video I love your content
C1. Xl1 + 6minute claim. Done. Nothing else matters for a space taxi.
Cool recommendation with the F8C...
If we mortals ACTUALLY could get our hands on it...
Last info i had, you needed one of them fancy tickets to even be "allowed" to buy one. Utter bollocks they pulled with this thing.
Haha, they were easy to find tho and they're going to keep offering it to buy at different times, which is the same as most ships.
Good video ded
