Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks or in this case an old stamp crafter new techniques. Have been stamping for over 50 years and yet I learned some very valuable lessons from this video. Need to get me the stamp a majigger. Thank you.
I was absolutely lost with all this information out there in the wide world of stamping and card making. So many different companies telling you that you have to have their widget! So many widgets!!! You make everything crystal clear and your faith in Christ I know I can trust what you say to be correct . You are a true Godsend and I am a subscriber and customer for life. If I could only subscribe to one you tube Channel it would be yours hands down. Gods Blessings always. You are made to do this and I am able to now get out of my way and follow along with you and make your beautiful projects.
May may, you are, by far, the best teacher on RUclips!!! I went to Hobby Lobby today and got some stamps, bink, paper and embellishments to begin my card making. I made my first card for my son and daughter in law. I stamped a cute little hedgehog on it and it was upside down! Well I had some beautiful gold glittery fall leaves so I covered the little guy up with that. It was so fun. I'm hoping to sell a few just to keep me funded for all my crafts. Lol. Anyway thanks again I just love you. 💙💝💜
Ms May May, your videos are so enjoyable! U r articulate, educated and a total sweet heart! I am learning so much and feel so inspired! Thankyou for all u do!
Thank you Maymay for your informative video. I love your style of teaching and your southern accent. Those of us who have been stamping for quite a while sometimes get a little lazy and your video is a great reminder to stop some of those bad habits that we have lapsed into. Keep the love coming!
I have been stamping for 8 years now and I STILL learned something from your video! Awesome! I thought it worth mentioning too that almost every silicone (aka clear but not photopolymer) set I got needed to be sanded pretty well in order to make a decent image- the ink wanted to bead up on the lines and wouldn't stamp solid until I learned from Kristina Werner about sanding them.
+Lunasquirl yes, you can sand them. A lot of times the water based inks will bead up on them really bad but when you actually go to stamp them it will sort of work it self out. You just need to be very careful and sand very evenly across the top. Thanks!
Thanks for giving so many useful tips! I am new to stamping, card making and other paper crafting. I am also a new subscriber to your channel. Thanks again! Hugs to you from Sweden 🌹🌹
Thank you for answering so many questions I didn't even know I had till I watched you. lol Very informative. I learned a ton of things that will make me a much better stamper.
Great instruction! I wish I had seen this when I started stamping. I would have saved myself a great deal of frustration. It looks so easy when people are stamping on videos and I could not figure out for the life of me why I had so much trouble.
I nearly didn't watch this video as I have been stamping for a while and thought I probably wouldn't be able to learn anything new. I was SO wrong! I learned a lot! I have both photopolymer and acrylic stamps in my stash and just assumed they were both the same (but did wonder why some were so hard to get off the acetate!). I did notice though that some gave more of a fuzzy impression when stamped as I was using them both in the same way. Now I know why! I would recommend this to every stamper - even if you think you are a know it all like me! :)
if I was voting on best youtube tutorial, this one would be my pick for the winner. Fantastic. I've learned so much and even more watching it more than once. Thank you.
Very helpful video Maymay, thank you! I've been stamping for years but I didn't know the difference between photopolymer and ordinary clear stamps, you've explained it so well!
Love your videos May May! You are wonderful at explaining things. I just recently found you on You Tube and so happy I did. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
May May, thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial. I learnt so much. It has been frustrating to ruin projects because I have smudged my stampings! Thanks
awesome video, very informative! I just ordered a bunch of stuff to start stamping and they are due to arrive tomorrow, needless to say I was going back and forth between the video and the order email checking to see what I did actually order lol, some good, some not so good, but armed with the knowledge from this video, I have no doubt I can make them all work!! thank you!
Thank you, MayMay!!! I really needed all the information you had in this tutorial. And the explanation of the Stamp a ma Jig was very very clear!! Thanks again!!
Thank you for doing this video...I am new to stamping and I'm having a lot of fun so far but there's so much I still don't know and this really helped me.....You are a wonderful teacher......................I purchased two of your stamp sets and I love the quality.......I know I'll be back for more......Thanks again!
Great video! I wish I had seen it 15 or so years ago when I first starting stamping and cardmaking. I can't imagine anyone giving it a thumbs down. I have watched many of your videos and just described. FYI: I love your hubby being present in some as well. My hubby helps me cut pieces, etc for our holiday cards- we send out 40-50 each December.
Thank you so much for doing this video. You are so into what you are doing and you don’t mind share you are one of the reasons I thought about get back into doing O and my daughter at one time when she was in Girls Scouts I did crafts couple year ago I give all my stuff crafts things away and one day last years during Christmas they was have a contest at her job for decorating your door so she call her mother so mom help her with here project then she say mom do you wish you had keep your stuff yes but now I can start over but that was a lot of money but it went with my friend she does after school program for small kids. Thank you
Great Video and I agree I LOVE the 1 x 1 inch stamp block. I now have 4 and they are usually always full. Then I don't have to change them all the time if doing a lot of the same thing.
Great video. So many great tips. Things we thought we were doing correct but didn't get good images. Now I know why. Thanks so much. Looking forward to your series.
wow, thanks for this video, I learned so much! I thought that I hated stamping and embossing because I never got a nice crisp image, now I know why, thanks again!!!
Thank you very much. Thanks for explaining the different types of stamps - very helpful. I really liked the tips about not rocking and rolling. I have a tendency to do this and I get so frustrated. They have come out with these "door knob" things for pressing stamps. What are they and how are they used?
This vid was so informative, thank you, thank you. I learned so much! A question - you said if the stamp loses its sticky on the back to just add more sticky. What kind of sticky and where do I get it?
Thanks Maymay, Great tutorial I've learned so much from you. I did hear a tip for photopolymer stamps to help prevent less staining. The first time you use a stamp use Versa Mark first then go and stamp with your choice. It puts a coating that helps prevent staining.
that was soooooo informative! thank you so much. you explained everything I was having difficulty with. I caught myself saying throughout the video "ohhhh that's why it's coming out like that when i do it".... thank you again!
With the wood block background stamp, to get the spot you missed, could you stamp on acetate. Line the acetate up exactly with the stamped image, use the stamp-a-ma-jig to align the wood block and re-stamp. I know it sounds like a lot of extra work but I'm really bad with getting a fully stamped image.
THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME THE DIFFERENCE I N STAMP PAD.WHAT ABOUT PIGMENT INKS WHAT DID YOU USE TO PUT BEHIND THE PAPER FOR A LITTLE SQUEAMISHNESS?THANK YOU FOR THE LESSON IN CLEANING THE STAMPS I HAVE HAD SO MANY DIFFERANT PEOPLE TELL ME TO MANY DIFFERENT WAYS YOU MADE IT SIMPLE.
I don't use a squishy thing behind my stamps, I get a better image when I don't. However, I do use it when I stamp with my MISTI tool, I leave that squishy tool in.
Dear MayMay, this is just absolutely wonderful, and filled with so much info :) Thank You so much :) You are a blessing :) Big hug from across the Globe :)
Maymay, thank you for explaining that the image you put the mask in becomes the image in front. I never understood that! I have cerebral palsy and HATE fussy cutting but my Scan n cut came on March the 3rd. That explained so much anf I will actually be using that knowledge now. Thank you!
Thanks Maymay! Very good and informative introduction to stamping...especially for someone like me! Can't wait to see the next in the series! I tested the techniques that you showed here, and got very positive results! I really needed this video..my stamping has always sucked and I really wasn't sure why until now. Cheers! xo
I love your videos! I would absolutely love it if you did some updated versions of your beginners videos. Beginning stamping, beginning card making, beginners tools needed. Those types of things.:-)
Thanks a lot i learned a lot i am new at making cards and stamping. I would like to know if you have a catolog or price list of the products you have to sale. I.would like to purchase your glitter glue for sure.I just dont really know how to or what to do next. Thanks agin for the info, ILike to watch your vedios.
I'm just getting into stamping and I love your through informative video. Do you still sell the various size blocks? If so can you let me know your shop information?..thanks again great video!!!..btw I'm a southern gal myself.
I really enjoyed this video and learned a lot! could you do a video like this about heat embossing. Its not something that I do but would love to learn more about it and what basic and necessary items are needed :)
Thanks so much I don't do a lot of stamping but I learned a lot.. One question I did purchase a lot of sentiment sayings stamps from my pink stamper, my creative life, etc years ago.. They are turning yellow is that normal?
+Connie Robite I have talked to my manufacturer about this in the past and they say yes, some will turn faster than others and the climate apparently has something to do with it. Mine that I have had since 2013 have not turned yellow but some of them aren't as clear as they once were. However, it won't or shouldn't affect the stamp it self. It should still work just fine. Thanks!!!
Hi MayMay thanks for all the useful tips. I have just clicked onto your international members join here link as I am interested in getting some of your stamps - I love them, however the link comes up with a message saying it has been disabled due to violation of you tubes terms and conditions :-( please could you send me some information about becoming an international member, I live in the UK
MayMay, I'm not new to Stamping just been afraid of messing up my projects. I have tons of stamps (all kinds) and ink pads. I do have a question though... How do I store my ink pads? Some are in lockable cases and the others are individuals. I've noticed that since can't be stored upside down, bcuz the ink runs and others I don't have a problem with.
