Especially depending on if the engine sits over the front wheels or slightly forward. The more forward you lean the car the more weight is moved in front of the front wheels & often the car will rotate faster.

My 2012 Skyactiv 3 has a couple of mods and has a couple other mods sitting at my house that need to be put on. Currents mods list are very basic and very short, just a CorkSport Cold air intake and cat-back exhaust. I have two gripes with the car, ones minor and ones major. My minor gripe is that it’s not manual (bought when I was 18 and hadn’t learned how to drive manual yet) and my major gripe is that it’s the sedan not the hatchback. Other than that I love the car. It has its gremlins (electrical issues in the interior, headlights flicker under braking, and a few dents 2 of which were my fault and one that was my mothers fault) but like I said I absolutely love Michaela the Mazda3. I’d love for David to review it one day but I know that’ll never happen so for now I’ll just settle for watching his awesome reviews!
I still regret selling my 08 mazda 3 hatch. Similar color, great interior for the year, awesome little hatch. If mazda had made a speed3 when I was looking for something new, I would have got it in a heartbeat. They're awesome cars.
I’ve been following your channel since your review of the 2013 Mazdaspeed3 and I absolutely love this this car. In fact, I actually own a 2016 Mazda3 (not modded yet, sadly 😭) But I absolutely believe they should bring back the Mazdaspeed cars. They have all wheel drive sorted out for the current 3, they have a turbo 2.5 4-cylinder in the big family SUV, the CX-9, if they could just find a way to put those two things together in one car, and tune it for performance, I think it could be a major game changer. Love your work, David! Keep on keepin’ on!
The “evil” M was from my view basically just to show that your car is modified, it was heavily present on modified first and second gen 3’s but now I think it’s just the trendy thing to do, I see it on all the rotted out rusty ones lol
My wife has a 2014 sedan, which is even lighter and its pretty quick and even more nimble. I enjoy driving it when I'm not in my Miata. Which is good company to be in handling wise.

Mazda is super underrated. When i met my girlfriend she wasnt into cars really but she liked her manual mazda3 and akways takes good care of it. After driving it for awhile, i really enjoyed it. Next new car will be a new mazda for sure. Which is funny because I own a Mustang GT. I really like the new mx5 too, super fun car and looks good
Ive wanted to see more modded versions of the two newer Mazda3 generations. They already look amazing, a new 2022 Mazda3 with aero, lowered, etc. would look sick.
It’s nice to see people modifying Mazda 3’s. I have a 2005 Mazda 3 and I love it, it isn’t modified though. And I have been waiting and waiting for Mazda to finally make a Mazda 3 Speed again. And more rotary cars too lol.
David, this is very similar to the engine they usd in the US ND Miata. There are turbo kits available for those from Flyin Miata, I imagine they would work with some fabrication on this platform. Obviously a new manifold would be required, but the high compression doesnt mean no turbo at all, you just need to be very careful with tuning.
Hey man just started watching your videos. I like what you're doing a lot. Some of the reviews really take me back. The 3000GT and the contour SVT resonate with me. Btw you gotta check out the one off Saleen Contour if you haven't yet. Curious if you'd ever be interested in reviewing a Pontiac fiero. There's guys out there doing really interesting stuff with engine swaps and body kits. They have an enthusiastic cult following and you mentioned liking quirky stuff. Keep up the good work.
agree they did it with the speed6 they could have done it to speed3. Only thing I can imagine is they wanted to keep the weight lower. Use to drive these alot working at Mazda dealer and they would get wheelspin in 3rd gear. fun car though.
This is what I’ve been doing with my focus, I have a non st so as far as performance goes there are next to no mods available but I’ve done what I can to make the car look nice and it’s a fun little car to drive.
Krea James This engine really can’t have a turbo, due to the insanely high compression ratio. If you did turbo it, your engine would probably go bye-bye.
I own the same car with 2.5 engine and manual transmission, its another car way faster than the 2.0. I also own a bmw 335i and believe me my mazda makes me smile every time I drive it. With the 2.5 the best I can describe, it's a peppy car. You can see 130mph quite often.

New Patterson car care commercial is fiya 🔥
Imagine If They Did, Damn The Body Design 😍😍😍🤤
My buddy had a speed3, he was the first of our friend group to have a "fast" car. My friend group has now evolved hot hatches. Speed3, fiesta st, focus st, vw gti, and I give the credit to that little speed3
If that has cams and headers and is making "mid 100s, probably 150" there's something wrong.
Nathanael Naused it probably doesn’t have a tune m, that’s exactly what I asked myself
@@6gseven539 Why would you do that much work to an engine and not tune it? It has to run like crap if it's not tuned with that much done.
Nathanael Naused exactly I agree
Nathanael Naused it isn’t even a 2.5. The 2.5 comes stock with 190hp and can go up to 230hp with mods.
Tuned with all that puts the skyactive to 190 maybe 200, wheel hp. 215 to 220 , for the 2.5 idk what's he talking g about. And don't see headers no were, trust me you they can't be overlooked lmao
4:15 missing something
Mr Rorykins I was searching for this comment... how did this go unseen
Yikes 😬
Lug 🥜 👁👁
I still regret selling my 08 mazda 3 hatch. Similar color, great interior for the year, awesome little hatch. If mazda had made a speed3 when I was looking for something new, I would have got it in a heartbeat. They're awesome cars.
Fun fact! The Mazdaspeed 3 uses the same brakes as the Volvo C30 you reviewed awhile back!
Same chassis as the Volvo and some other parts too.
Kingcal it’s cheesy imo.
My wife has a 2014 sedan, which is even lighter and its pretty quick and even more nimble. I enjoy driving it when I'm not in my Miata. Which is good company to be in handling wise.
Imagine if there was a new Mazdaspeed3 with AWD?! That would be nice! I would probably consider one and I have a mk7.5 Golf R 6spd 👀
Kris P the car your looking for is called the mazdaspeed6. forgotten gem, you can pick one up for around $5k
Fivall yeah I’ve seen those. Rare for sure! But I was thinking of a a current gen with awd and a turbo
Kris P my mom has a ‘19 mazda 6 2.5t it’s fwd but the mazda 3 is awd so hopefully they make a combination of the 2 cars in the next few years
Fivall would be cool for sure! That would be a hot hatch 💯
i modify my mazda 3 2.5l. we have a whole community about turboing your Mazda on Facebook. what makes my gen 2 diffrent is that im port injected instead of the direct injection that the sky active. I was surprised to have found a whole community about boosting your Mazda either 2.0l,2.3l,2.5l
Up badged a regular Mazda 3 with hot boi mods. Not a sleeper either. Lmao
Sad they didn’t do a speed3 with this body style, it looks good! Maybe this is a sign to look back on the Speed models in fond remembrance.
Do a Veloster N!
I really like the new mx5 too, super fun car and looks good
This makes me want to own a mazda 3!
Ive wanted to see more modded versions of the two newer Mazda3 generations. They already look amazing, a new 2022 Mazda3 with aero, lowered, etc. would look sick.
Drew 🅱️eacock would love this car
New Mazda’s look awesome, they really need to bring back the mazdaspeed editions.
Should’ve just bought a speed. -Speed 3 owner
Preach...
Preach- previous 2015 mazda3 owner
Sure but the latest models do not have “Speed” badging... for now!
It’s nice to see people modifying Mazda 3’s. I have a 2005 Mazda 3 and I love it, it isn’t modified though. And I have been waiting and waiting for Mazda to finally make a Mazda 3 Speed again. And more rotary cars too lol.
This guy put cams in his Mazda3 and didn’t put on a turbo and still has 150 hp....
Compression is way to high for turbo,1 guy tried it and blew up his motor. Ive seen 1 other with turbo but it runs really low boost :/
I was about to comment on how is this a "sleeper". Apparently, the title has been edited.
Itd be nice to see mazda bring back the speed6 and speed3. Very popular cars and very nice. I love my speed6 and will be upgrading the motor very soon
Rice rice baby. Looks cool but drives slowwwwwwww.
Mazda needs to bring back mazdaspeed for sure.
Mazda Failed by Not Making this AWD && a competitor too the STI
agree they did it with the speed6 they could have done it to speed3. Only thing I can imagine is they wanted to keep the weight lower. Use to drive these alot working at Mazda dealer and they would get wheelspin in 3rd gear. fun car though.
It looks aesthetically pleasing
Around 150hp with a Mazdaspeed 3 sticker on it.
Looks cool!
I still have and daily my MPS/Speed3. Still in love with her!!!!
No hate but the exterior looks a bit cheap 🤷🏻♂️ Love the vid btw
It looked good at a glance but the closer you look the more you notice the flaws.
That is a eBay special. All cheap taste looking add on stuff.
I picked up a 18 grand touring sedan about 6 months ago but it has the 2.5 with the six speed. Best car ever!
"ooh understeer..... it wanted to go straight pretty bad" .......2 min later "mazda has steering and handling down" wait what?
This is what I’ve been doing with my focus, I have a non st so as far as performance goes there are next to no mods available but I’ve done what I can to make the car look nice and it’s a fun little car to drive.
Would love to see it
"does not have a turbo" See ya
Krea James Right
Krea James This engine really can’t have a turbo, due to the insanely high compression ratio.
LMAOOOOO @7:54
i have a stock 2015 2.0 g120 mazda 3 and i love/hate it since in europe tuning is a little strict but its a fun daily
Dead body at 3:23
I own a 2007 mazda 3 mps.and i must say it have way more head and leg space then the latest versions.and the torq steer make it feel alive.remember torw steer is for real men!!!a real man want to battle a beast.
