i have a 2021 mazda 3 bp sedan, definitely planning on modding it, not too sure where to start. glad I found this channel, the modifications shouldnt be too different so these videos are really helpful
This is legal to install in California? It's a catback and catback's are fully legal in CA because they don't interfere with the primary catalytic converter. And there's no way it's over 95db which is the exhaust noise limit.
Would you be doing a video soon on adding a spoiler? Or adding side, front, back skirts? And also adding window rain guards? You’re the only person i know that are doing tutorials for this car and I love all of them!
So, a good portion of the reason it quiets down is the engine is actually not flowing much additional air at those RPMs due to the stock tuning, if you're in the 2.5t. The resonate frequency changes slightly too at those rpms. the full TBE (only a few of us are testing the downpipe) doesn't lose as much volume at higher RPMs, especially with some tuning like we're running. Tackles a lot of those issues.
Thank you so much, this video helped me listen the sound of stock vs hks axle back. My dream was the corksport axle back, maybe the sound is better, but I like the simmetry of hks to have an equal release of fumes.
I keep forgetting you dont have the turbo and im like "damn, when will we hear the lil snail spooly boi noises". Sounds great though! I think you're at a good tone. Some unequal length headers might be the only thing that could significantly change it at this point. Im not even sure if anyone makes those for the 3/3turbo yet
@akgonen60 Maybe Mazdas if US market. In Europe all of them have me. My 2024 mazda 3 has it, even 2019 mazda3dp had it as well. In Europe, all cars built after 2018 have it.
This is sick! I have the cork sport axleback rn and on the fence about the midpipe. Was there a noticeable power increase with the full catback? Thanks!
I have the corksport axle back right and I’m on the fence of getting the mid pipe to get the full catback, is there a big noticeable different in noise with the mid pipe because I find the axle back way to quiet!
Enjoyed the commentary but wish you could compare the sound and performance to a 3 with a muffler delete. The 2.5L CX-5 sounds good like this and wonder if the 3 would too. Do you have a video like this before adding the cat back?
Firstly you get no performance for doing a muffler delete, that is purely for fart can sound. Especially on 4 cylinders. If that’s what you’re looking for just search up any 4 cylinder with a muffler delete, they all sound the same. Bad.
That sounds nice. Whoever owned my 2021 Mazda3 before me took the stock off and put a single outlet exhaust on it. Lowered it, too. Which is great. But the tip of the exhaust is comig off at an angle. Looks tacky to me. Things to fix.
Yo! Great mods. Is the car running great with this exhaust + the intake without ECU tune? Like you don't have an engine light warning or any wrong behavior? I'm looking to mod mine too but nothing too crazy. In Europe the max option for the engine is the 2.0L that goes up to 186hp from factory.
I have borla plus corksport love it had to make some muffles to stick in the exhaustips for cold starts in the morning without the muffles it crazy loud
Yo Man... Love your content, I know it's about a year now since you posted this but I am just wondering what Mazda 3 version do you have in terms of Engine? Do you have the 2L or the 1.5 L??
mazdas dont come 1.5 the new ones dont i think after 2018 or 2019 they are all 2.5 some are 4 wheel some are 2 some are basic models and some are turbo but the engine size is the same 2.5 liter 186 torque 190 horses thats basic model specs
Canon M50! I’m still pretty new to the whole camera world, but when I first started I came across this specific camera was a great entry level camera to record video at a really good price. But hoping to upgrade soon!
So underneath you car there is a long strip of metal can’t miss it. It’s called a pinch weld, anywhere along it you can jack up the car and put jack stands on the ends!
If you want to add some extra protection to pinch welds go to Amazon and order pinch weld floor jack pad and pinch weld jack stand protectors. Cost for 4 jack stand protectors around $16.00 and for jack $10.00. I have both, used them on my Lexus IS-F and CX-30. I have magnetic floor jack pad highly recommended it over rubber. You place it exactly where you want it then place floor jack underneath pad.
Depends. I don’t think a cat-back or mid-pipe can void warranty. Anything upstream of the exhaust system will void warranty. But if the manufacturer can prove the parts caused damage, then your warranty won’t cover it.
On this car and a lot of cars it is actually a single pipe that splits right before the mufflers. On V6/V8 and boxer engines there are actually two exhaust manifolds coming off of the engine that may or may not converge into a single pipe. Inline 4 cylinders are just easier to work on and less parts in general.
@@akgonen60 funny u say that because i eventually bought a mazda 3 hatchback and mine was a 1.5 engine. maybe its different from the one imported to the US. in my country theres a 1.5 and 2.0 engine.
Nah dude ya life is worth more than the exhaust. Bring it it to thw exhaust shop and have it done there in 30 munites. They charge less than $200 for installation but you don't risk the car collapses on youself.
... if he was doing this with just a jack, sure. But doing this with Jack stands is not the least bit unsafe. Annoying, laborious, and tedious, yes. But not image.

Intake and Exhaust are always good starts! Tires and wheels make a pretty great difference too.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one wanting to mod a sedan. I feel so weird.
the annotation for sound clips including time stamp is really appreciated
Mo' power! Thanks for sharing!!!
Great work! Not enough videos of the 4th gens and CS stuff ;)

Appreciate the love! And yes sir It’s coming
Did the same with the borla axel back, absolutely love it. Unfortunately I find the corksport axel backs just lose sound at higher rpm
biggest mistake I made was getting a corksport axle back for my '17 6. i don't like how quiet it is at higher rpms
So, a good portion of the reason it quiets down is the engine is actually not flowing much additional air at those RPMs due to the stock tuning, if you're in the 2.5t. @@phildand6620 so youre saying getting a tune will help this problem?
@rycube1 good chance it'll help. Upper end of the rpm range starts to taper off g/s of air into the cylinders quite a bit
I love it not too obnoxious and sounds deep lol I’ll probably look into one!
Earned yourself a subscriber with this video. Nicely done.
Yes!! Chirped 2nd haha!!
Great video!! Ordering one now
Thanks mate, that’s really cool. Hope it will fit on cx-30.
This makes me miss my WRX. My g35 was practically a straight pipe. My wrx was header back, not cat. Fun times.
Good video thanks for actually showing the location off parts
Nice!
That wheel hop though 😅
Sounds really good! Great video!!
Does any one have the actual dyno hp gains on these setups?
Awesome love the sound, I have 2015 mazda3 s GT myself, trying to get a feel for what sounds I like. Look forward to seeing the progress on your car.
will any of these exhaust systems work on a 2024 non turbo sedan?
I wonder if this setup would work on turbo model.
Where did you order the hks axle back from?
Crazy thing is I'm watching this a year later and plan on buying the same color and all from the same dealership lmao
Thank you so much, this video helped me listen the sound of stock vs hks axle back. My dream was the corksport axle back, maybe the sound is better, but I like the simmetry of hks to have an equal release of fumes.
The CS system is actually not a muffler, it's a resonator. Flow is the same both side ;)
Wish they did something for the M6 2.2D 😞
Great review and tutorial
Dows this fit on the 2024 mazda 3 hatchback??? Please let me know if someone knows
Sounds good. Just subbed. Wish i thought of the mid pipe when i changed my exhaust.
*19 sedan awd n/a, muffler delete + vibrant resonator
Do you need to program the Mazda 3 Hatchback Turbo fuel system after adding a straight pipe?
Because my car consumes gasoline horribly

Do you still have the catalytic converter?
That I can’t speak on but with just a cat back system like this you should have no codes. And yes I still have my cats

Sounds really good! Besides the exhaust and cold air intake do you have any other mods like a JB4 tuner?
Appreciate it! Nah that’s about it so far and unfortunately no the JB4 is only for the turbo version 🥲
How does this add power gains ? And why not just get a speed 3
Would this work for a 2017 mazda 3 sedan?
I doubt it
Can you explain to me like I’m a 3rd grader where the jack points are, like where can I put my jack so I can put the jack stands where you have them?
So underneath you car there is a long strip of metal can’t miss it. It’s called a pinch weld, anywhere along it you can jack up the car and put jack stands on the ends!
The rear diff and there’s like divet spot in the the front I think it’s like a plate or something but that’s where you lift it on a 21 turbo

Corksport should have some exhaust options for your CX9!
Will this void my warranty?
Depends. I don’t think a cat-back or mid-pipe can void warranty. Anything upstream of the exhaust system will void warranty.
But if the manufacturer can prove the parts caused damage, then your warranty won’t cover it.
My parents say the dual exhaust vehicles are not any good. Is that true? What is the downside?
I’m gonna be honest I have no idea what your parents are talking about lol. There’s no downside I can think of it’s just piping
On this car and a lot of cars it is actually a single pipe that splits right before the mufflers. On V6/V8 and boxer engines there are actually two exhaust manifolds coming off of the engine that may or may not converge into a single pipe. its more for a sleaker and nicer meaner look
there is no downsize to it its just extra piping for air to escape thru
Honestly, I'd just get the Takeda cat back system. It sounds far better than all these options.
They only make the Takeda axle back for the 4th gens currently, not a whole cat back.
