HKS dual resonated front pipe and jdl catted headers probably happening later. I hate that high frequency p-plater rasp and the cat in the headers coupled with the resonators seems to nullify this. Low to mid frequencies is what I want.
Personally id go with equal length headers i know that takes away for the most part the traditional Subaru rumble but the flow efficiency is what i think makes them worth the money

this car by far the easiest when it comes to changing the exhaust system. Car sounds amazing bro, now I miss my BRZ though we had an issue with the coilovers before hahaha
Be careful with the front pipe. I’d say get headers first and see how you like the sound. On the first Gen it’s a fact that you should just leave the front pipe. As removing that will make a lot of rasp and noise. There are good ones like double res hks but very expensive for little benefit. Good choice on the catback tho, looking at getting the HKS single exit for my 86. :)
Zed not zee. I've got a 2018 ts, Perrin CAI with a K&N filter, HKS uel headers, overpipe and spec L II cat back, with an SME catted and resonated frontpipe. Got the headers to the front pipe cat ceramic coated in black. Sounds excellent. The catback on its own wasn't that great whilst waiting on the rest of the parts though.

@@juice885 Quality definitely better as HKS is hand made in Japan. Tomei I believe is now made in Taiwan or something. Sound wise, like I said it's a sophisticated tone but it's not loud. Tomei will be very loud as it's titanium and they have no mufflers 😅

got mine installed a week ago and its perfect, especially since I live in California need something louder than stock but not obnoxious
Love my Spec-L 2. It's almost like stock when you want to keep it lowkey, but it wakes up nicely when you get on it. It's the gentleman's catback. 🧐

Yeah you can definitely get some little pops and bangs when you downshift. Not as loud as the muffler delete though.
