    🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: Hi guys! My name is Alyona. I was born in Russia. I'm a musician. And I love art, makeup, fashion, style and beautiful environments. I love playing with makeup and fashion, but at the same time, I’m quite a minimalistic person. I don't like the idea of being fixated on the body too much. I have an alternative and unconventional viewpoint on beauty, the body types and face shapes. I love helping other women find their "it" and finally discover their beauty and boost their confidence.
    I have several series on my channel that you might be interested in such as: Body Types, Contouring, Makeup History and Makeup Transformations. Also some random beauty hacks about skin care, hair, nails and beauty in general.

    I’ve learned so much from your body types videos. Thank you so much!!!
    It took me a little bit to figure out what type I am and through the process I’ve made peace with my body. I also realized that I could be completely happy in any body type because as I’d go through the test over and over trying to figure it out, I ended up hoping at some point that I was every body type because they’re all beautiful. Once I figured it out though it was so obvious and explained so much about my relationship with clothing.
    I’m a flamboyant natural and I feel most right when I have some element of clothing that is oversized and I feel huge when I wear tops that are smaller (like a baby tee) or fitted and I didn’t understand why waist emphasis didn’t really make a difference in my overall look even though I have a smaller waist.
    Thanks again it’s been wonderful to have a new understanding of clothing! It’s been liberating.

    I just came here because I realised something slightly strange, kinda hoping someone will pick this up and it'll make sense to them.
    So I've been trying to figure out a way to take photos of me. I was kinda inspired by a girl I know who takes interesting pictures that are often heavily edited with filters.
    I tried practising to tak pictures with more interesting angles and then edit them in my own way. But I just didn't like the results. First off, I don't like changing things about my face, secondly most filters just looked separate from me.
    After this short phase of trying out to take more "fun" selfies I went back to taking photos the way I usually do it. No filters, more clear lines and some normal angles.
    To get to my point, I have no idea if I'm right but I feel like the way a self-portrait is taken is comparable to clothing.
    I'm a classic and most colourful filters were more overpowering than helping. I think the girl I know might be a soft gamin who can pull off this playful type of self portrait better.
    Edit: This post is long 😂

  • @FashionVanilla
    @FashionVanilla 5 лет назад +76

    Do you think that certain body/face types are more popular amongst specific nationalities/ regions of the world? For example there's that slavic woman beauty type. I've never realised that I look like that - my hair is not blonde, which seemed to me like the most slavic trait, but men stop me on the street asking where I'm from, or already guessing I'm slavic (without hearing me speaking). So I guess there's much more to that than just fair skin, light-coloured eyes etc. When I moved to the UK, I've realised that that I actually might look slightly different and by simply looking at my face people tend to notice that, especially English ones or Italians lol
    Some people would describe the beauty type as "striking" whatever that means, which made me think - is it the bone structure, the body type? I'd be interested to hear what you think about that. Cause to me it's still a mystery haha

    • @nmqoss5621
      @nmqoss5621 5 лет назад +24

      I think yes, nations have tendencies to some types. For example, asians have more delicate bones, even flamboyant naturals looks thinner and smaller compared to european, thats why I think asians have tendency to gamines. British are thinner, I think dramatics are common there. Scandinavian have stronger bones, I think flamboyant naturals should be common there. Russian consists of smooth lines, they are less angular, I think Russian have a lot of classics compared to europe. By the way, most russians have light brown hair, blonde is pretty rare, it is a in scandinavian thing. Russians also have thinner and flatter brows

    • @FashionVanilla
      @FashionVanilla 5 лет назад +10

      @@nmqoss5621 Yeah, what you say makes a lot of sense. I also remember reading about soft dramatics being very often latin. And I know that loads of slavic people, Russians too, have darker hair and I'm one of the examples (though I used to be blonde as a little girl, and I know it's pretty common). But there is that kind of a myth in other countries that all of us are blondes. So what I meant was that even though I don't have that stereotypical characteristic, people still can tell where I'm from and that's intriguing.

      This actually would be a very fun project and not very difficult, I think. Perhaps someone could make a sort of survey asking people their Kibbe Body type and their nationality, then could use that information to find out which types are most common in each nation. I realize this might not be entirely accurate because we're all biased and have trouble looking at ourselves objectively, but it's good enough for a fun little thing.

    Great topic! Some pieces of clothing in the store look just oddly combined (with lines and patterns and fabrics) so that even if I like the way they look on the hanger, I will feel like they don't look good on me. That's why I started sewing my own clothes. The difference that makes is remarkable. When I put on the first tailored dress I made, I was almost shocked how great that looked. Your videos are one of the reasons for that, so thank you very much. I wouldn't have dared to start sewing if I wouldn't have gotten into the whole Kibbe thing. I always wanted to but never knew WHAT to sew. The only struggle is that the fabrics and lines and pieces of clothing I really like are not the most simple or easy to make/work with xD but that's okay, I love a good challenge.

    Looking at the level of yin and Yang that looks good on you is helpful in finding your kibbie i.d . I have always looked good in some Yang but it's best in accessories or on the bottom part of my body . I look best in mostly yin clothing so I knew that I'm a yin type with a little Yang. Then it got difficult because I know I'm petite in every way which means I'm either SG or TR but because I don't have a double curve I'm SG . The difficult part is sifting through people's opinions of SG and celebrities. Such as squareishness , girlish and the celebrities that encapsulated those descriptions, but I do not.

    ahhh being able to be about vertical lines and being visually long is such a strange concept for me because i am actually short. you always read, don't wear this or that length skirt, shirt, or coat. and then i wondered why those are the exact lengths that look good on me.

    Could you please make a video on warm winter clothes and layering for the body types? Bc I’m a theatrical romantic and everything that keeps me warm is too chunky and everything that suits me is too cold.

    Ur so adorbs in those outfits! U always look so young! This was such a great vid!! I'm getting closer to knowing my body type now cuz I'm def very yin, hourglass but tall. It makes sense why man-tailored clothes look ridiculous on me🤦🏼‍♀️ Too much curvy for straight lines. This helps declutter my closet bc I kno for sure what stuff I don't wear and why now...ty so much!💖

    This is such an interesting video!!! 😄 I hope you will continue this series with more Ying and Yang clothing tips and examples! I'm very Yang in body type and my face but I LOVE Ying clothes so you're really helping me out! So when I wear something that's soft or flowy or floral fabric I should add a structured or stiff jacket or shirt instead of a soft sweater like I'd usually do? I'm going to try out different combinations!! Thank you! 😘

    I have cave man face (large protruding eyes, short forehead, broad large nose, broad taught cheeks, broad blunt jaw-not conventionally beautiful, I know haha), a narrow chest cavity, long muscular arms, broad hands, and short muscular legs. When I was younger, my daily “uniform” was brightly colored bohemian maxidresses with no belts, chunky knit sweaters, and biker boots. I still haven’t figured out what my Kibbe type, but I’m going to assume I just like the FN lookbook hehe

    Why is that, in the past, when i had long hair, and curled it, yin clothes suited me, but since i cut my hair (long pixie style), and lost 5 kg, these soft yin garments doesnt suit me anymore. According to the test, my type is theatrical romantic, is it possible, that with the short hair, i swiped from the yin side to the "yanger" side?

    • @mimaesthetic2517
      @mimaesthetic2517 5 лет назад +3

      Julia Fujita you lost weight,maybe your bones are now more prominent so you are able to see more clearly your bone structure? And "bony" is yang... That with the short hair which is mostly Yang.

    • @juliafujita3861
      @juliafujita3861 4 года назад

      @@mimaesthetic2517You see, here is my problem. I am as an adult 150 cm tall, 43kg, and I have stereotypically rather the "cute" type of appearance. I realized that I have a bit yanger bone structure on the face, but I was thinking, that must be a theatrical-romantic thing. Since my back is genetically quite sinewy and everything but not soft. And about the structure, I have even proportions, when nobody is around me, I don't really look short actually. Is it theatrical romantic, or gamine ...?

  • @juliat9211

    Can you do wedding dresses for the body types? Knowing what I know now, I would have been more open to trying different styles based on my romantic figure. I went for a soft classic kind of look, and I look great, but the fabric and mermaid shape is a bit too heavy for my frame I think.
