Please do the opposite and casual looks. I can’t believe how on point this system is. This might explain why not everyone can feel comfortable in “no makeup makeup “, like me - I try but feel invisible and tired.

@@di3486 I love it on the weekends or going to a mall when people are all dressed up - I’m not there to impress anyone and I couldn’t care less if I look casually slobbish - sweats, ball cap , t-shirt - sure the staff might not want to help me because they think I’m not willing or able to buy something, but they’re wrong. I also think dressing fancy in crowded places makes you a target for theft - in my opinion. I do prefer to look like wallpaper in the mall (I hate crowds and waiting in line for stuff and would rather buy everything online).

As a DC I find dressing outside of my work clothes (always easy as we seem to be made for 'office appropriate' dressing 😄) really difficult.I tend to just wear more 'dressy' versions of my work clothes, and I never feel particularly glamorous. When I was slimmer it was a lot easier, but now I'm a bit bigger and more pear-shaped it's got more difficult ....really looking forward to the more in-depth videos 😍

Even more than Kibbe system itself, I love the way Aly interpretes it😀😊 I've seen many interpretations of it, and often felt more limited in my choices rather than confident in myself; however Aly I feel has a good eye for all things beauty and harmony, and she just GETS it. And knows how to actually play with the lines in practice and use the lines to better express individuality and natural beauty, rather than the other way around. I just love this approach. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and understanding, Aly🥰

When your styling with curl attempts don't look as beautiful as you would like them to, turn to the Regency era or the Classical era for inspiration to fix the poodle look.. Those rounded up dos really bring out our feminity in an elegant way. Just make sure to use use to help smooth and style your curls

I am a gamine, either pure or soft, and I find that K-pop music videos (specifically blackpink) gives me great glam/party outfit inspiration. It’s very overdone in the videos, but just the vibe and certain elements are very easy for me to incorporate.

    • @ellem8990
      @ellem8990 Год назад +11

I never thought about that, but yeah kpop is often great inspiration for gamines. This might explain why my friend, who I think is probably a gamine, always looked better in many of the kpop looks when we were younger (we've been fans since 2009). I'm pretty sure I'm a soft natural and many of the kpop looks would look a little (or very) off on me. The edgy or colorful school girl outfits are a very good example where the differences show (like what blackpink wears in as if it's your last or f(x) rumpumpum).

I have followed soft natural advice ever since i started my kibbe journey, only to look sloppy. Take your existing footage of each item (makeup, jewelry, dresses, skirts, etc. for the body types) and compile them together by type. Or even the 3 variants at once, like soft classic, classic, and dramatic classic together. Very interesting video as usually! I still keep feeling confused about my own type though 😅
Soft Dramatic and Romantic are the only ones I am certain I’m not.
I sometimes think dramatic because I am very angular around the shoulders and face and have a narrow thorax but then my hips are wide and fleshy so probably not dramatic either. In N lines i usually look overwhelmed and lost, classic lines work but often look a bit plain on me. Like i was going to the office. And with gamines I fit in pretty well but I’m 5’4” and have small hands and feet and a small and narrow head so I tend to look taller than I am. Which points more towards FG. Also slightly crazy and undone hair looks good if it’s shorter or out of the face.
But usually look better with waist emphasis. Those straight 20s and 60s dresses often make me look wide because of my wide hips…
And I dislike too short dresses on me cause my legs have wide bones compared to my arms and upper body. Which makes me think more of soft natural… I’ll just be forever confused about this!

"One or two things can slightly be undone …" (FN) - Yessss! That’s the key. I noticed that years ago, long before I knew about Kibbe: I need at least ONE thing that "rocks" the outfit. If everything is very "done" I don't look chic but like an oldfashioned aunt - and I feel absolutely uncomfortable.

If I wear something more strict I have my hair out (it is straight, but can look a little bit long and messy) and if I wear something more casual I wear it in a low bun. I would look into cool toned natural eye shadow palettes with colors like taupe, darker grey brown, mauve etc If you want to line your eyes you can use a dark grey or brown pencil and smundge it aganst your lashline. It creates a bit drama without being as graphic as liquid or black eyeliner. On lips different shades of pink can look good, not too cool but not warm either since it can wash you out if tou’re a summer. Maybe even a cooler tone red if you make a softer eye. I am also a summer but not soft so maybe I can go a bit harder on the contrast 😊

Yes I think I am soft Gemini, and I really not look good in more feminine clothes , not look modern in long hair . I look good in showing my shoulders , like jackets, printed coats. Look good in structure clothes instead of flowy fabric .

I am soft natural but prefer the 1950s aesthetics how does that work?

Look for vertical silhouettes and Grecian style draping, as in Madame Grés or some of Claire McCardell's less structured designs. It should do the trick.

I’m short waisted, petite (5’4”), and 145 (a little bit short, short waisted, barrel body)
I’m lost fashion wise. And a weak chin/jowls big nose small lips. Lost!

Based on the Kibbe test, my answers are mostly Bs under Bone Structure, Es under Body Flesh and D/C equally under Facial Features. What's my body type 😭
For what it's worth i am just 5 feet tall but don't really look petite. Most people think i am a bit taller than i actually am. I have some curves and my flesh is quite soft but i feel like i have blunt bones, if that makes any sense 😶

@@jasmeen5712 so i re-did the test with pics and realized i get mostly Cs, but with some Ds and Es in facial features and body flesh. I think that makes me a Soft Classic. Which kind of makes sense because i do have a definite yin undercurrent with some curves and softness, but am not overtly sexy/ sensual looking, haha. Clean lines and minimal details look good and dressing too sexy looks a bit off (but not tooo off). Natural lines (shapeless clothing, lack of waist definition etc) look terrible. Dramatic lines overwhelm me.

I wonder how you'd pair theatrical romantic with soft autumn for glam because it doesn't look right on me. I can do a more feminine, cozy softness, maybe ethereal type of look but the vamp stereotype is out of place and I can't do black eyeliner. 🤔 Soft make up, fitted outfits, lots of lace or cashmere and gathers with delicate ornate jewelry? The glossiness and darker colors are the biggest issue. The softer seasons don't have much advice it seems.

Natural = elves, gemstones, leather, quality, form over function. Lived in and worn in its own way. Maybe a scarf as a skirt.
Romantic = princesses, ruffles softness, bows. More details to explore. Details and accesoired are there just because theyre pretty. A bow is more trouble than a zipper. But it's prettier.
Dramatic = queens, drama and impact. Accesoires chosen with a purposes. Like a zipper instead of a bow. Shes the queen so she stands out but doesn't look like she's trying.
Gamine = fairies, playfull a bit weird but magical. Accesoires are less conservatively, but more like conversationstarters...Art.
Classics = Business woman who loves to dress nice for herself. Simple dress, simple accesoires that she chose with care and bought herself because she hit a certain target, staple pieces quick in the morning but worth the effort and makes her shine.

If you are a gamine and want to look older and put together we should combine the formal with a bit of childish ? I understood that the whole sleek look can actually make us look more childish so what is the opposite of childish to make us look more mature ?
