- My CGC Comic order has returned, so that means its time for an unboxing. This was my first time ever sending comic in for grading. Overall I think I did very well considering I had no real idea what I was doing.

I agree about the foil covers. There are some instances where I can see it working to the benefit of the art, or even the story if done right, but for the most part, it's just too gimicky. Like when they use to out hologram cards on the cover if comics- I've an X-Factor issue with Havoc on it like that.

Hi Neo, thanks for sharing! I have 15 long boxes of comics from the 80’ and 90’s. Probably read 1/4 of them. Bagged and boarded all. I finally retired and put them all in the CLZ app. Should I get the press and clean service with submission? Some are not perfectly flat near the spine. No color breaking ticks. We went to several comic cons back then in Manhattan and Philadelphia as we lived in New Jersey at the time. I have several comics signed by Lee, Tucci, Liefeld, Balent, McFarland, Pulido, etc. some are to keep and give to grandchildren and some are to sell to offset the grading and pressing. Oddly enough, the Evil Ernie #1 and bone look to be the most valuable. There’s 448 key issues. Just wondering what to do with all these comics now. Fiancé says get rid of them after she moved her crap in. Comic store says he’ll give me 40% of value on keys and another $40 for what’s left in the long boxes. Doesn’t seem like much. My sports cards I sleeved and top loaded all stars have gone up in value many’s times more from that same era. I know, junk wax, but still cards went up greatly in value compared to the comics. Best place to unload comics for a fair deal? I mean I’ve stored these boxes for 30-40 years.
If they are worth $$$$$, I would get the keys cleaned and pressed by a third party presser and then submit them for grading to CGC. Your autographed books would need to be sent to CBCS if you want them to be autheticated.
Now you can pry them open and replace any 9.8’s with 9.2’s

Thanks for the entertainment as always.. . I noticed some of these were sewing around 50 or $60 on eBay. I'll be curious if you do a financial breakdown...
These were never graded to sell, all for the pc.
Seen many 9.8 with a top corner like that. Should of slipped a fiddy in the book. With the possible 9.9 Pre Screening grading will change.
