    I have the same issues with my 2015 Tacoma TRD Sport, my is not lifted however, it vabrates between 50 to 65 MPH, I went to the dealership and explain them the problem and mentioned that is a lot of us that are having the same issue. They told me that that had a recall for model up to 2010 for vibration problems but for newer models it should not be happening anymore. I told them that the problem still happening based on what I have read and they suggested tohave all of has to file a complain with toyota in order to set a recall and have this problem taken care of. I recommend to all of us to submit a complain and have toyota recall these models to fix the problem. Lets do it

    07' Tacoma 2wd. After doing a 3" suspension lift front and add a leaf 2.5" lift in the rear I had a shuddering vibration from a stop till about 20-30mph, it still exists at higher speeds but not as noticable. It's due to the angle of the u-joint. I used this old man emu kit and 90% of the vibration is gone, possibly all hard to tell. Thanks! much easier install than doing the shims in the rear.

    This repair just did the trick for me. After spending several hundreds of dollars trying to track down the issue... This one worked. Lol And it was the least expensive and a piece of cake. I do recommend after installing and doing your test drive that if it worked... get back under there and check tighten the bolts. Just as a safety check... Mine were still A-O-K. Awesome! Thanks !!

      bnuttsgee vibrations front and rear seem to be a problem for the newer gen Tacoma's. With that given response it seems like they know it's an issue and or don't want to fix it. The older gen trucks also experienced driveline vibrations post lift. This is what I found to work best for me and my set up. Also have a front diff drop kit added to the truck. Hope this helps!

    Hey bro, I'm alittle confused.. maybe you can explain it to me, so by adding the spacers wouldn't that create more play in the u joint housing?
    Also I'm having the hard shaking vibarting issue with my 2016 tacoma, when I shake the driveshaft near the u- joint these is alittle movement (play) is that normal cause of the rubber gasket or there should be no movement(play) at all?
    Any info is helpful, let me know what you think. Thanks!

    • @MartiArtisan
      @MartiArtisan  4 года назад +1

      By adding the spacers you are dropping the carrier bearing to a better angle after lifting it. Shooting for a “closer” to stock angle. This isn’t going to be perfect but a slight improvement. As long as you torque to the recommended specs you’ll be good. There will be slight play since it is designed to spin/flex. If you are concerned then verify torque specs. The other thing that could potentially be your issue is the needle bearing. I had to replace this as well since the toyota part is cheap and tends to wear quicker after a lift. I used the East Coast Gear Supply clamshell bushing which replaces the needle bearing.

    • @Stearnsy33
      @Stearnsy33 7 лет назад

      My truck used to make that chirping sound too. It would stop as soon as I applied a little pressure to the clutch pedal. I had the dealership install a Throwout Bearing UPGRADE/REPAIR KIT that I purchased from Underdog Racing Development's website (link below). I haven't had any problems since the installation. It was $225.00 for the part, but I'd say it's worth it because the chirping sound is gone and it looks like it will prevent any further wear and tear on the aluminum shaft that the throwout bearing rides on.

      Tacoma FAN if you are experiencing vibration issues this would be the first thing I would try, due to its relatively affordable price. This worked for me and my vibes after I lifted the truck, but I cannot really guarantee it will fix everyone's vibrations. With that said, it is a really well built product and Old Man Emu is a reputable brand. The next thing to do after this would be looking into axel shims, which basically are the same concept, but go between the rear axel and the leaf pack. There is plenty of more information on tacomaworld forum regarding axel shims and other vibration related fixes. I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any further questions and what you wind up deciding!

      troy saechao There seems to be two sets of vibes. There is a first set around 20-30mph and a higher set anywhere from 50-70mph. The first set should be resolved by the carrier bearing drop kit and the higher end is most likely going to be your needle bearing that needs to be replaced. East Coast Gear Supply has a replacement for the needle bearing which is a lot better than factory. eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-8536125-toyota-8-clamshell-bushing-eliminates-needle-bearing.html

    What's the parts ,do you mind to explain little bit to me?

    • @MartiArtisan
      @MartiArtisan  7 лет назад

      Jordan Smith the part being installed is a carrier bearing drop kit made by Old Man Emu (OME). From the factory our trucks are built a specific way in order to work in unison. Once we lift out trucks we are changing the balance of parts from the original way they were intended. Basically what this kit does, is to attempt to fix drive line angles. Once lifting the truck, the drive line angle is no longer the same or inline like it was from the factory. This kit adds a spacer, dropping your carrier bearing, relieving some of the stress on the driveline and helping restore driveline angles. For most, this fixes driveline vibrations. For some, axel shims are also needed to correct vibration problems. For few, replacing the driveline is the solution. This is all dependent on your setup, as far as lift, tires, and other modifications pertaining too your suspension. Hope this helps!

      MartiArtisan no mods. Just a stock 2017 DCOR. It only happens from a stop until I reach 2nd gear. No vibrations in the other gears. No f’n way this is “normal”. I have an appointment with another Toyota dealer tomorrow am. If that fix in the video would work for me, I’d buy it in a heartbeat. I first want to make sure my driveshaft and u joint is ok. So frustrating with an otherwise great truck.

      Jeffrey Carter I’m hoping everything works out for you and that going to a new dealership will offer better compliance/options. The carrier bearing drop kit is mainly geared towards lifted Tacoma’s, but it might help. Feel free to fill us all in on what you hear back from the new dealership you’ll be going too. I’m sure others, including myself are curious about the response. I agree that the Tacoma’s are great vehicles despite their minor issues. Best of luck Jeffrey!

    Would this work on my 2015 Tacoma? I have a vibration that comes in at about 38 MPH - 40 MPH. It's a base access cab completely stock. No alterations. 4 by 4.

    • @MartiArtisan
      @MartiArtisan  4 года назад +1

      Maxwell Crazycat Potentially. What I would do is check to see if the vibration goes away at the same speed while in 4WD. If it goes away in 4WD then it’s going to be your needle bearing that needs replacing. If that’s the case I would recommend the East Coast Gear Supply (ECGS) replacement bushing, as it’s a lot stronger then the factory needle bearing

    • @maxwellcrazycat9204
      @maxwellcrazycat9204 4 года назад +1

      @@MartiArtisan It is the same in 4 wheel. No change. Which needle bearing are you referring to? The prop shaft center bearing? I don't see anything wrong with it. Trans mount looks good too.

    • @MartiArtisan
      @MartiArtisan  4 года назад

      Maxwell Crazycat the needle bearing I’m referring too is the driver side cv axle needle bearing. If the vibration isn’t going away in 4wd then that is most likely not the issue.

      I have also been told from the dealership that vibrations are "normal." Mainly, the carrier bearing kit is used when lifting the vehicle, but it might be worth a shot. It is pretty affordable, but might not do anything since this problem is occurring even without a lift.
      I have been doing some reading on the forums and it seems that some people have been getting their engines "re-torqued" in order to fix the problem. Basically, the engine mounts are loosened, the motor is shifted to the left then re-torqued. This could or could not be your problem. I would say it might be worth looking into this/contacting you're local dealership. Here is the article I found with similar problems you have reported (as far as the high mph vibration):

    I just did added fox 2.5 coilovers w/resi's and fox 2.0 rear with Dakar leafsprings. Also have the OME carrier bearing drop kit. I still have a vibration around 20-25mph..... I did the front coilovers first and it drove perfectly. After I added the rear lift I got the vibration.

    • @MartiArtisan
      @MartiArtisan  7 лет назад +1

      todd mayta nice choice on the fox Coilovers! How do you like them? Most likely it's because the driveline angle has been altered more with the rear Dakar leaf pack. In bigger terms it's a harmonic imbalance of the driveline that causes the vibrations. From what I read it works for some people and others it lessens the vibes. I would suggest looking into a "shim" kit if you haven't already. A couple of companies make them like Toytec and billstein, probably the cheapest route is making your own. It will be trial and error to find the right degree of shim necessary but it will be worth it in the end. Tacomaworld has a lot of information regarding shim kits and driveline angles.

    For those of you who have tried the carrier bearing drop kit; but it hasn’t worked or completely eliminated your vibration or hum.
    I have been informed by Brian Cioffi that a clamshell bushing fixed the issues as well.
    This is sold by East Coast Gear Supply, and is the “Toyota 8” Clamshell Bushing (Eliminates Needle Bearing)”
    What this does: “Replaces Driver side CV axle needle bearing with bushing to help control Vibration and shaft float common on these differentials.”

    ***I have not personally tested this method. More information and install should be acquired and attempted at your discretion.***

    Please understand to not use a background soundtrack when making an instructional video. Its extremely distracting and very often you can't even hear the voice instruction.

    I have a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4x4. 10,087 miles it started
    locking up grinding clanking anytime you start off from a grade .
    Horrible situation. Toyota says its normal operation. Refuse to
    warranty.Gonna get rid of it any takers? Pure crap in my opinion.
    Customer service is the absolute most arrogant filth to deal with. This
    truck has never been 4x4 use mudding or rock crawling and is junk. I am a
    senior and worked around oilfield equip. This is a poor excuse for a
    truck. Oh and PS tried towing a utility trailer, won't tow half the
    rating. This is a toy not a truck. Never again Toyota...

      DO you mean when it rolls back on an uphill. If it starts making noise and trying to stop the rolling, it is normal. On the off-road and Pro toyota uses the crawl control as anti roll. I do not like it either. I do not like how Toyota implemented this, instead of using the brakes like other manufacturers do.

    Put a lift kit on any vehicle and you're just asking for trouble.
    Putting a non-Toyota part on a Toyota is, in my opinion, always a mistake. Been there and sorry I did it. Cost me. And no reason to. There are suppliers of Toyota parts that are much less expensive than buying them from a dealer - yes, genuine Toyota parts.
    If anyone wants more of my sage advice, just let me know.
