Those canners are a gorgeous sight Heather! And those copper canning funnels. Exquisite! Love the musical track! The beans look great. So many nutricious options for your family ❤

Wow, beautiful beans and love them coming in burlap bags! And they've not been irradiated for the grocery store! We raised and canned kidney beans last year. Yummy. Blessings, Sweet Lady.
Heather I'm so greatfull and proud of you you are a blessing we both been on this care accident widow tbi journey understand not the same just a little different now we never chosen it but god new we could share and continue life and teach others learning no skills

Big huge smiles for you ...young lady! I was gifted a pressure canner from the 1940's...(wooden handles) reconditioned! I have been watching your older dry can pinto beans video all day along with other dry canning bean videos ... I'm excited for the experience !
I think of you every time I measure out the beans and scoop a little out of the top! I've never seen anybody else give that tip, and I remember it every time I'm canning my beans.
I marvel at God's grace and endless love when I see you busting a move in the kitchen. I love God sooo much. I also love the friendship and sisterhood through our lord that I have with you. Keep on trucking, girlfriend. You are an inspiration. ❤
Since we only use pintos for refried beans I always use the full-soak and pre-cook method so they'll come out mushy and easy to turn into refries, haha. You have such a wonderful stove for canning, being able to run two canners on the front. I hope you and your family are all doing well during this storm, it will certainly make for a lot of memories I don't doubt!
thats an awesome way of having the beans worker you instead of you working harder for the beans. LOL Yes....when Matt said pick out a stove.....I specifically looked for several things....one with the controls in the front and not a back panel because I am 5ft tall and burn myself, one with 2 power burners up front to run my canners, I wanted an oven with a bread proofing option as well as a convection oven for even baking of my breads....and I wanted a center burner with a cast iron griddle for making bug breakfasts! LOL this stove is a dream!
I’ve been watching since your double wide days, and I am still amazed at how consistent you are with how clean and in order you are with canning. I very much enjoy it. I see all these other “new younger canners” who skip lots of steps and I just think back to the way you do it. One of these days(years, lol) and come back to tell you I’ve started canning. How, where do you Vaseline?
Wow, thank you! Thats a huge compliment. I appreciate that. I am never here to "teach" anyone, but to inspire them, and if you ever jump in the canning crazy, I will be here to cheer you on as well! I have a video on how I prep my canners. I use a thin layer of vaseline around the edges and bolts of my canner. All Americans do not have a rubber gasket rather they are metal on metal. So without vaseline, your life can mold right into the body and your lid won't come off. LOL not a good problem to have!
Hello, Heather 🤗 My name is Beth and this is the first of your videos that I’ve seen. (RUclips suggested it.) You are the kind of person I’d feel totally comfortable hanging out with. ❤ Regarding this video, canning beans without presoaking is a game changer for me! I love to can beans, too, for all the many ways to use the huge variety of beans out there. I’m canning beans the rest of the week! P.S. I watched a few of your earlier videos and I thank God for you. 🥰
Heather, I have such an appreciation for you and the canning process! Loved following this process, thank you for sharing and making it look manageable for those of us inexperienced canners!❤
You are so welcome! y heart is so full knowing my videos help you in some way. I am a visual learner, even more so now with my brain injury. So I try to film how I like to learn. LOL I am glad there are others like me out here. God bless and happy canning!!!!
Thank you!!!!! I am glad it shows up on camera as enjoyable to look at for you. I love videos with eye candy! Cosmopolitan Cornbread, her videos are eye candy to me. hahaha
So happy to start my day with you. God is good….. as far as memory….I have white matter disease, adhd and am 67 years old…… I have blackboard in kitchen. Literally write down each step and check off as I go. I stay calmer that way. Even though I have done it thousands of times….write, 3” of water, lock down lid, 10 minutes vent, and whatever else I need. Love ya girl!
I wanted to tell you that you are beautiful...and so full of life again. As we get older multi tasking is harder for all of us,! I think you talking about it helps a lot of others! I am so sad the pain and Heartache you went through...but you have come through with grace and a smile. I understand pain. I pray yours has lessened... You are remarkable!
Funny I just finished canning some pinto beans this morning! Opened RUclips and there you were. I cooked some raw with some ham stock, some cooked with beans, onions and seasonings (like a bean and ham soup) and some cooked before I put the ham in the pot. All came out great and I have a winter's worth of beans in various kinds on the shelf. I also cook them in pints. I also pulled out some cooked beans and am going to make some refried beans to add to beef and bean enchiladas that I will share with an older couple for meals they can freeze. A big bean day.
that sounds phenomenal!!!! Girl, we are all Canning Queens workin hard in our kitchens today! hahaha We are all on the same page. Instead of being stressed out about the current world events, I just lovingly put food by for my family. Lord willing we will do it again tomorrow.
They all look good to me. They will all be good even the ones not as full. I also love the green canner. Finally someone thought to take the edge of the older same old same old. This video was a joy from start to finish. Much hugs and luv.
YAY! I know, I love the color of this canner. It's eye candy to me! Yeah, the best thing to do is test out what YOU like better, and go with it. I tried several ways, no soak is best for me. I like the results the most.
I'm a new canner and I have to laugh at myself because I get ridiculously excited about canning- especially a BIG batch! Lol!!😂 I really appreciate watching your process because I DON'T have it down yet, even though it seems so simple and common sense, I'm not naturally organized (at first anyway) and I always seem to forget something and that is frustrating. Your step by step repetitive methods really helps!! I know in time it will be automatic and I'll have my own flow that looks easy too❤ My thrifted AA has some pitting so I saved up and got myself a new one for Christmas but I was too cheap to get the colored one. I'm so happy for you!! You deserve every color in the rainbow!! We got 8 inches of snow last night and it's a wonderland outside! A great day for cozy canning!!!
Thanks so much! 😊 I am getting close now in knowing how she likes to roll! 😆 Canners are like women, they each have their own special way about them. 😆😆😆 sometimes can be more finicky than others. My silver one I can run in my sleep. 😆😆😆😆 I got her in Feb of 2014!!!!
Hay sweetheart you are doing fantastic keep up the fabulous work work I get it I had a stroke 8 years ago I lost use of my left side and as everyone knows some things are lost I can not remember the date from seeing it this morning as long as until the afternoon but I do remember my canning things you are a hero hugs
Great video!!! So relaxing. So informative. You are so right. It took me a while to learn the sweet spot on my head space and heating up the canner. You taught me all that. Thank you Heather. God bless you and have a blessed day.
I grew up on beans, navy, pinto, baked, chili with kidney beans❤😊now as a 68 year old Grammy i make all types of beans especially navy beans My Granddaughter loves it best. Beans are oh so delicious. 😊
Hi Heather. I've been watching you from the get go and I absolutely love you. I just got finished canning chicken and pinto beans this weekend. I also love the music. Soo relaxing. Thank you for sharing and stay safe and warm. Love to you and your little ones. ❤🦋🙏🤗
Thanks so much! 😊 I can not tell you how good it feels in my spirit to be back doing the things I absolutely love doing. God has been so so good to me. He is a redeemer and restorer. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Thanks so much for the video. We only like small beans. So it may be weird but I just mix them all together. They're the same size so I think it works. If this is wrong feel free to correct me. God bless you guys!
Absolutely not wrong at all! Its pretty genius! 😆 I make chili beans and now I want to mix small red kidneys, black and pinto beans in one jar! 😆👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Our plan for 2024 is to have meatless Monday. That way we have 52 days where we get our protein from food other than meat. It's been fun to plan that menu! Tonight is borscht with garbonzo beans added, homemade buttermilk biscuits. For an after dinner treat we will have homemade yogurt with strawberries. I absolutely love canning beans and broth. It feels so rewarding and it's great when the power is out to have them ready to use!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I feel like it's a good plan for us this year. If I can stretch our meat out a bit it will be nice. We were able to purchase cod and were gifted some salmon so I think instead of pizza on Friday we will have fish. That way I have a plan and it won't get hidden in the freezer.
I take out all broken beans, all shriveled/wrinkly looking beans, and any beans that float. It would be so nice to live near someplace I could pick up fresh beans like that!
Good morning my sweet friend! I'm canning pinto beans for the first time. I had to run through your videos. My container that I store my beans in is over flowing. That means can! Take care!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader 27 pints of pintos. I'm so proud of myself. I was asked why I am canning the beans? I know that you know why I'm canning. Like minded people. I know that I am not alone in this.
Hi Heather. I love that you dont pre-soak your beans. To me, that always gives a mushy bean. Question❓️can you pressure can chili with ground beef then add the beans when ready to eat?
SO jealous right now! We're super busy with a house project and no time for canning. I'm itchin' to do some canning so bad! Your jars look wonderful with the exception of the fact that they are not on MY shelves. LOL! Love you Heather! Thanks for sharing! bree~
They look amazing Heather, great job and the other day it sounded like I was slamming the electric canner and I didn't mean to come across that way, I just like my All American.
hahaha even if you did slam it, I do NOT mind!!!! It is definitely not a canner for everybody. I think it has its place in the lineup. But, like you, I absolutely LOVE my All Americans! Especially my new green one from my sons. hahahaha
Mama your beans look fantastic! Somehow I thought you put 1/2 tsp canning salt in the jars before canning them. I need to get to canning proteins also (and some beans). Love the music on this video! Glad to see you back in the kitchen canning. Hugs!
I used to, but I didn't really find the taste that different since I am always adding beans to a seasoned dish, so why waste the money, right? hahaha I just season them when I cook them up!
Hi Heather first my prayers are: God continue to heal and bless you and your family. Love your videos and your detailed work. My question is where do I purchase those beans in the burlap bags, I love beans and must have them daily in my diet as I don't eat meat but they give me so much gas; where can I get those shipped to me in Canada? Thank you, peace and blessings!
I am not sure if you have a local mill but try there. I purchased mine locally and thats how they sell them. Its a grain mill. But they do not ship and have no website to purchase from. Strictly old school farming mill. See if you have one local to you. Farming communities usually have one. ❤️
hahaha I did post the song name and who sings it in the description box. It's called "Iron" but I can't see my video from the back end of RUclips. hahaha but its there for ya!
Heather, I just watched many of your old canning videos, (you have a lot!) and I'm starting to get the itch to start. In your trusty opinion, which canner would you recommend I start with, as a 66 year old woman that doesn't have ten years to learn! 😂 The electric Presto or the big, pretty green one?( can't think of the name) I must say I laughed on the beef bone broth, you brought the jars out and lined them all perfectly with either the Ball label or the pretty label on the back, showing! That is exactly how I would do it, just because it's prettier!
I would ask a few questions first....can you carry a heavy canner? is your stove gas or electric or glass top?how much food do you want to put by in one canning session? all huge factors but I am here to help the best I can!
To try and answer your questions, I have a gas stove, (hooked to propane if that matters), I'm sure I can lift one like yours. It's only me and my husband, but I like the idea of jams and broth and beans for starters. Things we use a lot. I'm afraid of going too small on a machine that ends up being a waste. I think I saw a 15 1/2 qt. stove top canner. Is that bigger than the electric? I forget. Also, most stores are half an hour away from us, so Is there a room temperature average that canned food should be stored in? We do not have a basement. Can that electric one do everything the big fancy one can do, just less of it?
I can lift my 921. The Green canner ONLY comes in the 921 model. It also comes in other colors. I will leave a link here for you. But hands down, go for that one. The electric one is super nice, but it does not hold nearly the same amount.....the 921 All American you can double stack pint jars and can 16 jars. The electric canner can not double stack. Now....that being said....the electric is lighter, but just as big....and really easy to operate. The All American is easy too, but you are dealing with a flame VS an automatic machine that does everything for you. Here are the colored canners: amzn.to/3HdDiiU The Electric Presto: amzn.to/3tPr2SL
How do you gather the motivation? I pray for His help daily, and since the death of my young son 2 yrs ago, I can't seem to find importance in the simple daily tasks.
Teresa, I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet baby boy. I asked God to transform my heart, make me new, because I was shattered. Broken into a million pieces. And He did that for me. I realized through all of this, that unconditional love and forgiveness are the lessons to be learned....to surrender and accept that my life is just a story.....a story with a purpose to serve the Kingdom..... and those I love will come and go......my grief therapist likened it to a train. We are riding our train of life and at every station, point in our life, people get on our train..... and some get off of our train. They too have their own purpose and destination. I dont know if you have received any grief counseling, but I did for over two years. It helped me so much. Also, building a relationship with the Lord. Not a religion but a personal relationship. I walk in that every day. It is not easy though, but it is not supposed to be. This world is fallen, and the enemy seeks to destroy us at every turn.
totally normal just from boiling. If the bubbles are really aggressive, keep the jars in the canner for a little while longer. they change in the air temp going from hot to a cool room can make it bubble more.... you dont want any siphoning to happen that can effect your headspace. but mild bubbles are fine and normal from the air temp change and the fact that they still are in the processing stage until they completely cool and lids are sealed down.
I have another tip for white beans. You can cream them in a blender and add to a soup to make it a creamy based soup instead of using cream or milk.
NICE!!!! I didn't know that! thank you!
Never thought of that either.. good one, I’ll have to try that thanks 🙏
As I was watching you can, I began remembering how it seemed not so long ago your struggles. And how your wrists seemed to be so weak & taking forever to heal.
Just look at you now. Canning, following God, encouraging us, making us laugh, and sometimes cry.
All I can think of is that saying, "satan did realize when he tried to bury you that you were a seed".
And look at you grow!.
*I always have loved the POP of the jars sealing!! It's like that pat on the back that you did your job correctly!!*
hahaha right???? the most beautiful music!

A very timely video! I'm planning to can some pinto's and split peas maybe some time this week! Thank you for the video!
Take care!
Yes!!!!😆👏🏼 Happy Canning!!!!!!!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader 27 pints of pintos. I'm so proud of myself. I was asked why I am canning the beans? I know that you know why I'm canning. Like minded people. I know that I am not alone in this.
Great job! I miss those snow days!
oh Katie.....I am trying to focus on the canning and not the mess that will be outside! hahaha
I love the sound at the end there is like not much more satisfying than your seals popping to let you know you did it all right
I agree! hahaha A Canning Queens favorite sound! haha
Hi Heather. I love that you dont pre-soak your beans. To me, that always gives a mushy bean. Question❓️can you pressure can chili with ground beef then add the beans when ready to eat?
you can pressure can chili! with or without the beans! here ya go, sis! nchfp.uga.edu/how/can_05/chili_con_carne.html
I love watching you canning. I also prefer the no soak beans in my jars. I just did quarts of white beans for bean soup and chicken chili.
Thank you for sharing ♥️
SO jealous right now! We're super busy with a house project and no time for canning. I'm itchin' to do some canning so bad! Your jars look wonderful with the exception of the fact that they are not on MY shelves. LOL! Love you Heather! Thanks for sharing! bree~
😆😆😆😆 Bree, whata way to wake up and start my day!!! Love you too….. i LOVE home projects. Whatcha guys doin????
Your giving me good vibes on using my canner for the first time. I'm hoping to start this week with some water practice runs. 🙏 🙏. ❤❤

Thanks for watching!
I am so trying this no soak method in the morning. Woohoo 🎉
Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching, Brenda!
Wonderful!!!!
Many thanks!!
Especially my new green one from my sons. hahahaha
Love it's 🥰🥰
Thank you heather
You bet!
I just found your channel. I love it!! Ty for sharing! ❤
Welcome!! So glad you found me, Casey!!!! Look forward to getting to hit chat with you here in the comments.
@@TheKneadyHomesteader I plan on making canned beans soon!
Look at you go!
right? hahaha thank you so much for being here with me. xoxo
Hi Heather, I like kidney beans in my chili, plus meat. I just made some baked beans, omg they turned out so so good..
Mice jars of beans.
I love baked beans on toast for breakfast! LOL
Great video!
I’m Learning a lot😊
I cook and freeze my beans😅not ready for canning yet.
Love the music!
Thank you!
Blessings 💜💜💜
Well when you're ready, I will be here to cheer you on, Queen!
@@TheKneadyHomesteader thank you!!🤗
It’s so good to see you at it. I dislike the soaking method, everything turns way too mushy. Besides, this is sooooo much simpler and quicker.
Yummy.please do some baked beans soon.
Absolutely love you … 😘
🤗 love you too!!!!
❤you look great
awwww thanks sis!!!
May the Lord bless you 🙂
Mama your beans look fantastic!
I do put salt in mine as I like the end taste better. Personal preference I think.
Current canning plans are beef broth, beans, tomatoes from the freezer and maybe cranberry apple juice.
those all sound fantastic, Kitty!!!!
Thank you Heather, I'll do some research
Hi Heather!
You inspire me especially with faith!
My question- what’s the song called??
Canning??? 😳😱🫣
hahaha I did post the song name and who sings it in the description box. It's called "Iron" but I can't see my video from the back end of RUclips. hahaha but its there for ya!
Doing this tomorrow!!!
WOOHOO!!!!! Ya gotta make RUclips videos Kevin so I can come watch ya can! hahaha
@@TheKneadyHomesteader maybe! I'm trying to figure out how to tag you on my latest charcoal portraits, on FB and Instagram....
Such a wonderful video, thank you!! Would you mind sharing the name of the beautiful music? ❤
In the description box under the video. It's called "Iron" but can't remember the name of the group, but its in the box for ya!
I'm running bean and bacon soup in my canner. I'm trying to can something every day this month!
Lord willing!!!!! That is awesome!!!!! What a fantastic goal. Let's get it, Girl! hahaha
Heather, I just watched many of your old canning videos, (you have a lot!) and I'm starting to get the itch to start. In your trusty opinion, which canner would you recommend I start with, as a 66 year old woman that doesn't have ten years to learn! 😂 The electric Presto or the big, pretty green one?( can't think of the name)
I must say I laughed on the beef bone broth, you brought the jars out and lined them all perfectly with either the Ball label or the pretty label on the back, showing!
I forget. Also, most stores are half an hour away from us, so
Is there a room temperature average that canned food should be stored in?
Here are the colored canners: amzn.to/3HdDiiU
The Electric Presto: amzn.to/3tPr2SL
How do you gather the motivation? I pray for His help daily, and since the death of my young son 2 yrs ago, I can't seem to find importance in the simple daily tasks.
❤
I live in Michigan as well. Do you use a local mill for your dry beans? I would love to order some. Thanks!
Great video. Can you please explain again the bubbles coming up after you took the jars out? This happens sometimes with my jars.
totally normal just from boiling.
I must say I LOVE my electric pressure canner!
