I love my ‘23 P4X in every way, except for the adaptive cruise control. This truck blows the doors off my ‘20 Tacoma 4x4 Offroad. When I heard what Tacoma was planning on doing with the Tacoma, I didn’t even want to wait to see it. I’m not into 4 cylinder engines in trucks, turbo or not. All the Tacoma needed was an updated look inside and out, plus a few extra ponies from their V6 and an 8 or 9 speed tranny. Good review Ben. You hit it spot on IMO.

The issue is people don't view trucks like trucks anymore. They were purpose built vehicles previously now they are bought as regular family vehicles. I miss the days where you could buy ones with vinyl floors and interior that you could hose out when it's dirty along with very little technology. The more tech that is put in a truck eventually turns to expensive repairs and its not what a truck was meant to be IMO. The new frontier is the closest thing to an older new truck that we have.

View trucks like trucks? What is a truck? Trucks “were” something, then like everything else, they evolved and changed along with people’s needs and wants. Trucks today don’t need to be trucks of yesterday, because it’s not yesterday. There are simple trucks. Not many. Because they’re not what most people want/need. Businesses serve the majority, because that’s who pays the bills. Hence manuals disappearing. Also, some of the tech and niceties are enjoyable. Truck people should allow themselves some enjoyment. You can get the chores done, not bang up your vehicle, and drive home with a warm ass, and still maintain your dignity lol.

All new vehicles have gotten so expensive. To fight that, they should offer a bare bones model that deletes things such as power seats, power windows, perhaps even air conditioning as an option. A bare bones Frontier or Tacoma should be able to sell for under 27,000. I bet they'd sell like hotcakes.

I realize it's a two month old comment, but part of that is because it's not practical for many families to have a truck dedicated to "truck stuff" and a separate vehicle for everything else. Sometimes the truck has to do double duty as your daily driver AND truck stuff on the weekends.

We just bought one. It is fantastic. The entire family used the last Frontier purchased in 2005. They will use this one too, for transorting mulch for home landscaping, for camping and hauling all their toys. We live in a rural area, and we do need the off-toad capabilities. The deeper bed is welcome. Our previous Frontier had a moderate amount if rust on it, because we looked after it and it was stored in our garage. The front seats are fantastic and comfortable.

I bought a 2020 Frontier because like anyone else I could read the tea leaves on the small displacement turbos coming soon across the industry. I’m glad I did get in while I could. We have small displacement turbo trucks at work and they are not what a truck used to be quality and reliability wise. This will probably be my last truck at my age and have zero interest in the over tech wave that’s now here.

I just rented a Frontier for 3 days. The good: power, brakes, handling, mileage. The bad: heavy steering when going slow (I quickly got used to it), harsh suspension that bottoms easily, direct injection engine with no port injection to keep the intake valves clean.
I found it odd that when i would get in the truck to drive the seat was reclined from where i left it. This happened several times. Researched it on the internet and many others had the same issue. The concensus was that the recline lever is getting depressed when exiting.

We own both a Tacoma and have had a SV premium long bed for about 4 months now. The Frontier is nice, but even as a new truck vs our Tacoma with almost 62 k, the truck doesnt feel as well built. Its definitely a more refined experience, but with 8k on the odometer we're already starting to hear squeaks and rattles coming in from the trim. And while they advertise best in class HP, it certainly doesnt feel like it. The taco still feels just about even in terms of speed. Not sure if its the tuning or what, but you'd think the 3.8 would have been quicker. Either way, we still like the vehicle alot, and its much more comfortable to be in than the Tacoma. I believe the cab room is the same as the old truck why ? I don't know, Nissan had a very good opportunity to the everything right that others had not done in decades that is making the door seal 1 inch higher because I have hit my head on the door seal while getting in because its Not very high.
2nd. Is leg room in the back, why didn't they place like 2 or 3 inches longer worth of leg room for adults' sitting in the back ?
3 rd. I've herd Nissan cut the size of the Front seat by 1 1/2 inches to give a wider counsel, I would of liked the wider seat to remain the same because the New seats are NOT comfortable at all. I would HATE to go on a 3 hour trip in this truck.
4th The rear Hitch is NOT flush with the bumper as all truck have it, in this truck the Hitch sets back like 1 1/2 to 2 inches making it difficult to put the Hitch pin on.
5th Last complaint is why didn't Nissan make the truck bed a TRUE 5 ft. bed at 60 inches NOT 59 inches ??
Nissan you have a few improvements to make because the next time I want a new truck, I will rent one out first for a week to see if it fits the Bill for me than making a 40K mistake !!!!

They didn't go over the top with gauges. It honestly looks dated. It's the same gauge cluster from a 2015 Maxima. 9 years old.

When they are built in Mexico there the labor rate is $ 2.75 an hour .you would never know it for what Toyota is trying to sell them for .

I have this truck and I can say the driver seat is awful, reason is the bucket seat is never in the same place when I get back in the truck.
The seat drifts back like 1 to 2 inches due to the button on the side for the bucket seat is very high & my leg thigh somehow touches it while getting out of the truck..
I have never had this issue in all the many vehicles I've ever own until now !! Many others had complain about this in the 2023 model as well and I guess Nissan doesn't give 2 @*@* what people have to say about it because if they did the 2024 model would have had the issue fixed.
If I could of known this from the very start I would of never bought the truck, You know how much of a pain this is always fixing your seat every time you want to drive it.
