    ITB has called it again 👍
    My thoughts on this one are related to in which generation one sits. What I mean is, if you are of a certain age you are perhaps going to be more interested in the upcoming Harrier and Tornado. Both of which I’ll be buying. This one doesn’t ultimately appeal, largely because I still have memories of Tornados running the valleys up around Ammanford and the Lliw reservoirs when I was a kid, and my grandfather arranging for me to sit in a Harrier 😎 As for other mods, I appreciate the effort here but I am the wrong demographic.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад +1

      I guess I fall more into the Tornado / Harrier generation also Mark (very much looking forward to both, although even more excited to see we'll have them both in DCS). The IFE Tornado will hopefully be a stunner, Just Flight's should be excellent on the systems front (when that eventually arrives). Now, who's working on a Jaguar. . .
      I've never been a big Typhoon fan, but I did warm to the aircraft having spent some time with it for this video ; )

    The custom sound is made by Acoustic Sim for all DC jets. Problem is they are busy and you sometimes have to wait for a little while (+ it costs the dev around 2000 euros). They've been on queue for a while and they asked their community on Discord if people wanted to wait for custom sound or if the F18 would be ok for a while. People said they wanted the jet now, which is why it's been released with the F-18 sound package.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      Well, that's certainly interesting to know Mad, thanks for the info!
      I guess this sort of thing often comes down to user preference: CJ Simulations aren't the first dev to ask their community, whether or not they would like a product releasing before XYZ is complete and of course the community is excited to get their hands on the addon, so they say "yes". If it were me, I'd rather wait and get the finished thing but again, we're all different. As I mentioned in the video, the F-18 sounds aren't half bad. . .but hopefully the Acoustic Sim sounds will be better still : )
      All the best!

    I love it... finally a believable Eurofighter for MSFS. Mine seems to have inverted canard animations though. Surely they will patch those to be correct.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад +1

      I'm glad you're enjoying the addon AyKay!
      I'm not too sure on the Canards; it seems there is a lot more going on with the Typhoons Canards than meets the eye (just doing a little bit of reading, the canards serve multiple functions, including introducing further instability as the jet manoeuvres), so it would be tricky to say whether they are in fact working in the correct sense or not. I don't have the addon installed currently, so can't take a look I'm afraid, but no doubt if the animation is incorrect, DC Designs will take a look and address it.
      Sorry I can't be of more help on that one. Happy flying! : )

    I'd love a nice Typhoon for the sim, but I'm in 2 minds about this one knowing that IndiaFoxtEcho are nearing completion of theirs. It might explain why this was rushed out minus the sounds and various glitches. I'm not a fan of DC after buying the F15 Eagle so their involvement doesn't thrill me. If it was £15 I'd probably grab it right away and start snapping epic screenshots.

      Hello, maybe you know if somebody else is working on a F22 Raptor? We now have the Bredoked trash and the top mach F22. Top mach looks very good.
      But is someone else working on a raptor too?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад

      Hello Michael,
      I don't believe that anybody else is currently working on a Raptor. IRIS Simulations were, but they dropped theirs, once the Top Mach version released. The Top Mach F-22 is pretty nice overall; some flight model peculiarities and it isn't study level, but then I guess it never could be : )
      I hope that helps. Cheers and all the best!

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  2 года назад +2

      Well certainly there's no harm in waiting on IFE's Typhoon and seeing how the two products compare Axeman. Going off the historic efforts of both companies, the IFE Eurofighter will almost certainly be prettier and have more systems depth, but the CJ Simulations version might nip it on the sounds / flight model. I would expect the two products will retail for about the same price. For epic screenshots, the IFE Typhoon will probably be the winner haha : )
      Cheers!

    • @MadX8
      @MadX8 Год назад +1

      IFE Typhoon won't be out before a little while. The F15 was the first DC jet and they progressed a lot since then. Honestly their Typhoon is good and it keeps improving after each update. The next one will add the CFD Simulation (Computational Fluid Dynamics) which will improve even more the flight model. The avionics is also looking good, considering most payware are just using the regular MSFS Garmin, it's a fantastic effort there.
      DC/CJ have to improve the texture quality of their products, but when it comes to the avionics and flight model, I feel like they are better than most devs out there for MSFS

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      I think that’s pretty fair Mad. DC Designs get a lot of criticism about all aspects of their products, but I think the systems / flight models tend to decent (given what the dev is aiming for); people look at the product, see its a bit rough visually and then trash the rest also. I’ve generally preferred the way DC Designs products fly vs India Foxt Echo aircraft (not that it’s a competition), but you don’t hear IFE getting much criticism, essentially because they make visually beautiful addons. I gather DC Designs is taking on a new graphical engineer, so hopefully that will help : )

      Well, it certainly works better MrS. The CJ Simulations Typhoon is by no means a "study level" recreation of the aircraft, but it certainly trounces the Bredok3D version in most respects. India Foxt Echo are also working on a Typhoon, so it will be interesting to see how the two compare.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      Haha, well for sure I would expect a lower turn rate / less elevator authority at those sorts of speeds, but my comments were as compared with other fast jets that I’ve tried in DCS etc (ie I still think the Typhoon had an issue, at least at the time of release). Also, perhaps I’m being dense, but if the Typhoon’s flight envelope protections allow a certain amount of g to be commanded, the aircraft should presumably be able to pull that amount of g at any speed (which if I recall correctly, is not what I was seeing here)? None of the above is to say you’re wrong, just to clarify my logic at the time.

      Hmm, that’s a tricky one for me to answer, since I haven’t flown all of the available jets within the sim. Off the top of my head, I’d say you’re better off going for something like a Deimos, or Bredok3D product, since they have more simplistic flight models and therefore often tend to over-perform. I seem to recall that the Felon was more manoeuvrable than the F-22, when I put them head-to-head. The Bredok3D Typhoon used to be highly overpowered / manoeuvrable, but it’s a long time since I’ve flown it, so I’m not sure whether that’s still the case. The Bredok3D Typhoon would probably be my best guess, but it is just a guess at the end of the day. . .
      Sorry I can’t be a bit more helpful on that one. All the best! : )

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +1

      Hi Robie,
      I don’t have an exact answer for you, but MSFS is still somewhat “rudimentary”, when it comes to modelling the aerodynamics of high speed / high altitude flight, so a lot of aircraft tend to exhibit strange behaviours under either of those circumstances. I’m no expert when it comes to the Typhoon, but I would imagine that Mach 2.2 / 60K ft, is right up at the limits of its performance envelope, so it’s perhaps not too surprising that the aircraft is doing strange things at those sorts of speeds / altitudes (again, in MSFS flight models tend to fall apart outside of normal parameters).

      Hi Carspotter,
      Apologies for the slow reply: The Typhoon certainly has some strange handling characteristics currently, but I haven't really seen anything like that. Is it possible that you have your sim's flight model set to "Legacy", as opposed to "Modern"? That tends to induce the sort of strange behaviors you describe. Worth checking that and seeing how you go from there. Otherwise, I guess it could be a weight / CofG issue, a controller issue, or perhaps something to do with your assistance options?
      I hope that helps a little. Cheers and all the best!

      I’m not 100% sure what might be causing your issues, but I seem to recall that below a certain speed, the CJ Sim Typhoon goes from auto trim, to manual trim. Could it be that you’re falling below that speed threshold and that as you’re doing so, your aircraft is way out of trim? I would say that the aircraft is still somewhat of a work in progress and so the autopilot may well be refined in due course (the Asobo autopilot systems are still pretty flawed unfortunately, that tends to bring up issues with a lot of addons). Off the top of my head, it might be worth adjusting the weight / CofG and try flying at different speeds etc, but it's probably a question of mitigating the issue for now, as opposed to nullifying it altogether.

      For better or worse, I suppose they charge what their customers are willing to pay Matt. For sure the Typhoon isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea, but I think dedicated simmers are looking for different thing's, vs the more casual MSFS crowd.
      I certainly would like to see some improved texturing on the Typhoon (particularly internally), but DC Designs seem pretty confident with their sales numbers, so I suppose there's no impetus for them to drastically change what they're doing. . . Who knows though, perhaps as the sim matures and more addon come into MSFS, competition will drive general standards up (India Foxt Echo are also working on a Typhoon for example).

      Ah, well thanks very much for the info Jim! I guess CJ Simulations can be forgiven for the lack of horn haha, but based on what you have said, it does sound as though the manual and indeed the flight model is rather inaccurate in a couple of areas then. The manual states that the flaps / slats are managed automatically - I'm rather surprised they would be locked up for the takeoff, but there you go. It is also stated that the aircraft only auto-trims above a certain speed and that is what's modelled in the sim, but again this would be inaccurate behaviour based on your statements then.

      Hello 40’s,
      I’m afraid I’m not all that familiar with the console, so there’s only so much help I can offer up here.
      Firstly, when you say you “can’t” start your flight, I presume you mean that you would rather run your flight using ATC? You should be able to fly just fine in MSFS, without using the default ATC system. In terms of troubleshooting, you’ll need to check your sound settings and also your text to speech settings; make sure that ATC (or whatever the appropriate setting is called) volume is turned all the way up and make sure you have text to speech turned on / set to “Azure”. You’ll then need to check which key press you have assigned to Open / Close ATC Window, otherwise you’ll need to select the ATC menu from the drop-down menu at the top of the screen. Lastly, if you’re using the Typhoon specifically, you’ll most likely need the electrical systems powered and the avionics switches turned on, before you’re able to call ATC.
      I hope that helps a little? All the best : )

      Overall the F-22 is a more polished product I would say. Graphically the Raptor wins by some margin, systems depth is broadly the same between the two addons, same for the sounds. I can’t attest to the accuracy of the flight models; the F-22 has a couple of nice tricks up its sleeve, but has a real problem with buffeting at high g, the Typhoon’s flight model feels slightly more plausible as a result. If it were me, between the F-22 and the CJ Simulations Typhoon, I’d probably go for the F-22 at the moment.

      Hi Jep,
      Hard for me to say, as really that comes down to personal preference / what you thought based on the review. CJ Simulations has now added a custom soundset to the aircraft though and it’s pretty decent. Personally, whilst I like the Typhoon, I’d say that the Heatblur F-14 and the India Foxt Echo Tornado IDS, both offer up a much more detailed, realistic and enjoyable experience but for sure, CJ Simulations currently offer the best Typhoon option available for the sim.
      I hope that helps a little. All the best! : )

For sure MSFS is not the best sim for these sorts of aircraft and I know this sort of product isn't to everyone's tastes (I think most of my viewers prefer "study level" products, but personally I don't mind taking a look at "the other end of the spectrum" from time to time).

    Thank again for the review. The first words of the video were enough for me to decide if I want to buy the product or not: DC Design a clear no. graphics are sub standard as always and the the whole plane is too simple for me. Look at the f14 how poorly the 3d model and the textures are. He has no intentions or abilities to make the f14 good but instead let’s push another fun flyer with poor system, graphics and textures. I wonder why somebody with poor texture abilities pushed so many poor liveries in the store. Sadly fighter jets are mostly not well made in MSFS. The only exception is maybe the Hawk T1.
    A clear No for the typhoon.

      Hi Michael,
      Haha, feel free to rant as much as you like; any and all opinions are welcome here!
      I'm glad the video helped you to make an informed decision. I don't mind the systems simplicity of the DC Designs aircraft, as that is somewhat based around the target audience, but I agree that texture improvements are needed on most of their products. DC Designs has actually taken on a new texture artist, so let's see what comes of that (I believe the F-4 should be the first DC Designs addon done to the "new and improved" standard).
      I can certainly see why these sorts of addons miss the mark for a lot of people (they aren't the sort of addons I generally fly myself in the sim, but I do enjoy taking a look at them and having a quick blast around), but there are many casual simmers that do enjoy them. As you say, fast jets are not a strong point in MSFS currently (though I do love the Hawk and the F-104 is pretty entertaining also) and DCS runs rings around anything available within Microsoft Flight Simulator.
      Cheers for your thoughts. All the best : )

      But I ha e to admit I still like to fly it and especially IFR but I guess tthats because of the F14 and what it does to me in my head :)

    I seriously have to stop spending money on junk products.. and the Typhoon is no exception. I found this plane quite disappointing especially for a Just Flight marketed product.
    The extremes in the quality of modelling and textures across the plane from good to bad is amazing and the cockpit is downright awful. And comparting it to the Sim Skunk Works Fiat G91 and the Starfighters, this Typhoon feels like it should be a third the price or freeware from Flightsim.to.. I'm sorry to hear that you weren't satisfied with the product. The quality of the modelling / texturing is indeed quite variable across the addon, which I agree is a shame. DC Designs have stated that their upcoming F4 will be done to a new graphical standard and that their previous line-up will be updated to the same quality thereafter; exactly what that entails remains to be seen, but hopefully the visuals will be brought up the sort of standards we expect within MSFS.

      Thanks very much for the feedback. What is it specifically that you don't like about the zoom angles? I'm a little surprised that you bring up the cinematography in general, as most people seem to enjoy that aspect of the channel and indeed, I think I put more effort into the visuals of my videos than is typical.
