    Another great review video. Really struck by the all glass cockpit. Looks an amazing aircraft & controls appear to be relatively intuitive & straightforward. As you say, perfect for those short quick hops & a nice gentle progression up from a single prop. Downloaded into my hangar following your review. Thanks. I loved the little touch of having the aircraft's registration on the chocks & the tarp cover. Just seemed a pity that having traveled to Aspen for skiing, it was raining when you arrived & melted the snow! Looking forward to your next review. Cheers.

      Yes, in some respects the Vision Jet is really a bit like a jet-powered Piper Warrior haha. The aircraft offers a nice transition from GA world at any rate.
      Haha! That would be the story of my life. . . Anyway, no matter - I’ve had quite enough snow to last me for the foreseeable future XD

    Great review as usual, as I have stated before, it is always good to see how a professional pilot fly's the aircraft and handles all the procedures, it shows simmers like myself what we should aspire to attain in our flying. I have bought FlightFX Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet and agree to everything you stated in your review.

      Thanks very much for the kind words Scimiter! I’m glad you’re enjoying the reviews and indeed, feel like you’re getting something out of the flights. I can’t claim that everything is done 100% accurately in my videos; I do occasionally apply a bit of “artistic licence” etc (eg choosing to land on RWY 33 at Aspen), but I try to apply real-world logic to any scenarios that I create along the way.
      Enjoy the Vison Jet! Happy flying and all the best : )

    That landing with the Big Dipper in front of you and the Pleiades rising off the right wing leaving no doubt this is the most beautiful sim out there! I don't usually get in to the glass panel planes, but this really does look like a fun plane to zip around in. I don't have time to do much more than 1-2 hour flights and this will certainly get farther than most small planes in that time. Great review as always, sir!

    • @LokiDWolf
      @LokiDWolf Год назад +2

      I agree. Though, I do wish the sky would move as the plane moves. It's just a static image and that is probably the only disappointing thing when flying late at night. And, I look forward to flying this plane too. Very nice!

    • @JohnMichaelson
      @JohnMichaelson Год назад +4

      @@LokiDWolf Not sure what you mean. It does very accurately show the sky from all latitudes and does change over time. You could make a time lapse of stars wheeling across the sky if you wanted to.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +2

      Yes, once again, the sim certainly no slouch in the looks department! Amazing to be able to pick any spot in the world and experience it to such a degree : )
      The Vision Jet isn’t typically my sort of “thing” either, but given the aircraft’s unique properties and the very nice implementation of the addon, it’s “a keeper” overall ; )
      Many thanks sir, all the best!

    • @LokiDWolf
      @LokiDWolf Год назад +1

      @@JohnMichaelson I simply mean the night sky doesn't move. It's static. The land below moves of course. We'll, if you're in a moving plane you shouldn't see the exact same thing above you 2 hours later. That's all. I'm not questioning if the correct constellations are shown. Just a shot that should somewhat move as a plane is.

    • @JohnMichaelson
      @JohnMichaelson Год назад +5

      @@LokiDWolf No, it is _not_ static. Just set it to slew mode and move southwards at night and watch the stars rise up over the southern horizon as you go. I'd suggest southern England in summer and fly south into Europe. You'll see the tail of Scorpius get higher above the southern horizon. Or I guess Orion would work in winter.
      I don't know how fast you expect it to occur, but you have to fly nearly 70 miles for just 1° of change in latitude.

    Excellent presentation, as always. This looks like a nice step-up from the pure GA world to the small jets world. I think I see one in my future 🙂 That G3000 l looks a little sparse at the moment, but I'm sure that will change as the WT version comes online. Knowing how much you like to tell a story with your videos, as well as demonstrating / reviewing products, have you considered doing a video on the sim's new native De Havilland Beaver? That airplane has become my favorite airplane that is included with the sim, especially with the free Got Friends improvement mod added. Seems like great material, along with something like the Parallel 42 Campout utility, for a Canada fishing trip. 🙂

    Cirrus made this single engine for a relatively easy step up from their base of Cirrus prop owners who desire a performance increase. Less complicated training, maintenance, etc than a twin jet and much less expensive.

This is one of my favorite aircraft to fly, mainly due to it's ease of use and incredible field of view. She has her issues but still a great add-on in my humble opinion. As always thanks for the review. I've been keeping my eyes on this one for a while, so I didn't hesitate to pick it upon the release date. It's a fun little thing.
    Regarding the CAPS system, the developer did say that they looked into replicating it and bringing it to the aircraft. However, they said it was not possible to implement at this time. They'd spoken to Raul from FSReborn who had apparently told them he had to do it using WASM for the Sting S4. This of course, would not allow them to make the aircraft available to Xbox users at this time.
    Keep up the good work, I absolutely look forward to watching your videos when they drop :)

    This aircraft has a real Jetsons bubblecar vibe for me. And those huge front windows make for some spectacular views. The only tripping points for me are the lack of SimBrief integration and the G3000's habit of doing a loop when activating ILS/RNAV approaches. The plus side is that hand flying it is really easy to visual approaches are no problem.
    And where did you find spoilers/speed brakes? I certainly don't see any and none responded to my Bravo axis.

      Haha, the Vision Jet does rather have that sort of vibe to it Jon and indeed, the visibility from the cockpit is great!
      The spoilers were a funny coincidence: the real aircraft doesn’t have them, but at the time (unbeknownst to me) the Vision Jet had “phantom” spoilers in the flight model. So my keybind worked and did indeed help slow the aircraft down, but it shouldn’t have done. I gather FlightFX has subsequently corrected the flight model.
      I hope that clears things up. All the best! : )

    I don't know much about the Cirrus Vision either but it looks like a slippery sucker. I can imagine using the speed brakes would be pretty routine just to rein it in. Question: On the "twitchiness" which seems pervasive in airframes across MSFS, is it feasible to tune that out through response cures? If not through the native sim, then via a third party add-on similar to the venerable FSUIPC?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад +1

      Haha, well as it happens Kyle, the Vision Jet doesn’t have any speed brakes apparently. FlightFX included a phantom speed brake in the flight model (hence why my keybind worked), but I believe things have subsequently been corrected.
      I would imagine the twitchiness could be mitigated to some degree using curves, it would still be there (as I think it’s s physics issues), but would then require greater flight control deflections to induce it. There is an FSUIPC for MSFS (I believe), though I’ve yet to try it myself. Ultimately, I think the fix really / ideally needs to come from Asobo’s end though.

    There are 2 sketchy things I know about the Vision Jet as a rampie and I was wondering if either was modeled. I can tell already that one is not, this being the baggage compartment is unusable due to an oil leak. This leak is from the special oil dispenser required due to how the engine's mounted. You pour a can of turbine oil into this dispenser, which is then able to get oil into the engine. This usually results in half a can of oil in the dispenser for next time. You put the dispenser in a provided Ziplok bag and put this in the baggage compartment. Problem is, the dispenser ain't pressure-proof so blows the oil out during flight, and the provided Ziplok bag dissolves when oil touches it. Thus, the whole baggage compartment becomes awash with oil. The upshot is that all Vision Jets I've met IRL have absorbent pads instead of carpet in the baggage compartment and don't put anything else in there except for the leaking dispenser. So they're all 4-seaters with the baggage behind the rear seats. Also, they have big oil stains down the side of the rear fuselage from the aft lower corner of the baggage compartment door.
    The other IRL issue is a bug with the electrical system. If you start a Vision Jet off the GPU, it sheds the cabin heater and and AC, which cannot be reset without shutting down and basically rebooting. So IRL, they use a GPU to fully charge the battery, disconnect the GPU prior to engine start, then start off the battery. Which is good for rampies because, of course, the GPU is on the right side (so as to be out of the way of the baggage door) but the plug is on the left side. So, if the engine was running when you disconnect the GPU, you'd either have to limbo under the very low tail or walk all the way around the front of the plane twice to unplug the GPU. But as the engine isn't running IRL, you can just walk around the tail without having to bend over. |Is this modeled in the game?

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations

      Haha, thanks very much for the insight Bullet, very interesting! For an incredibly expensive “toy”, it sounds like the Vision Jet has a couple of significant shortcomings (the ziplock bag made me chuckle) XD

      I tend to only do stall tests on the aircraft where I feel a stall may typically be flown (so training aircraft, warbirds etc). The behaviour you’ve experienced certainly sounds odd / wrong, but like you, I couldn’t really say for certain (not having any real-world experience with the Vision Jet). It *could* be, given that the Vision Jet has the ballistic chute, that the aircraft does indeed exhibit poor low-speed / spin characteristics, but it sounds more likely that further tweaks to the flight model are needed.

    Great review as always and thank you. But a question for all - is it just me or is this flight model not squirrelly as hell on the ground? I've diverted a couple times now to avoid crosswind as this thing is hard to control upon touchdown in a crosswind, even a cross-breeze.
    Also apologies to whomever... I nearly landed on top of another Cirrus Jet going into Aspen really bad weather. Seems a lot of us were duplicating this flight. But in fairness, you were sitting STILL on the middle of the runway with NO lights! Too late to go around, had to squeak by over!

      Hi Gary,
      Thank you very much, I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
      Using Live Weather, I haven’t specifically tested the aircraft in a crosswind, but now that you mention it, I did find the Cirrus to be rather a handful on my approach into Aspen (in a very moderate crosswind). Many aircraft in the sim don’t handle crosswinds well; perhaps with its V-tail, the Vision Jet exacerbates this issue.
      Haha, well I’m glad my video potentially inspired a little group outing over to Aspen - I think when someone chooses to park it on the runway, all is fair thereafter XD

      H Flops,
      Yes, a bit of a misunderstanding there on my part: For sure the aircraft uses a lot of custom system pages and indeed I demonstrated those during the review. I have a question. When flying this if I go into active pause or enter the pause screen or basically leave the flight for any moment of time the aircraft will slowly begin shutting itself down when I resume flying. it starts by dropping oil pressure then says engine starter and then goes to power. first by taking the screens offline one by one. anyone got any ideas why this is happening on this aircraft.

    • @IntotheBlueSimulations
      @IntotheBlueSimulations  Год назад

      Hi UBI,
      Apparently what you’re experiencing, is a known bug with the aircraft. If one goes into the options menu, the aircraft’s battery is drained and the aircraft will shut down (or something along those lines anyway). I gather the dev is aware of the issue, so hopefully it will be fixed up in short order (if it hasn’t been already).
