Great tutorial! i really liked how you pointed out real life when it differed from the sim. Looking forward to seeing more of them. I hope FlightFX continues to get it as close to RL as possible.
Possibly the most informative video I have ever watched, your knowledge of the aircraft and its systems is very impressive. Regards from England for 2023.
Just started my first times flying with VATSIM and have used this jet for my first about 7 flights so far. It’s so amazing the info you gave in this also it makes me happy so see all the updates they did to make it like the real aircraft as you were saying they were missing in this video ! Thanks for the info and congrats on owning such an amazing jet
What an incredible video man! Thanks a ton! I love flying the Vision Jet in MSFS so this is just so helpful to get really deep into the sim aspect of everything. What an incredible aircraft it is though... I've been doing maximum range trips to really push the jet as far as it can go going from PHLI to different Line and Cook Island airports in the Pacific and it's been so accurate with the fuel consumption. The plane is such a joy to fly too, it's slow to accept inputs, it's not overly touchy, and it's so easy to land with its lower approach and landing speeds. I'm envious you get to fly it in real life!
I love this- first time SIm Brief plans I messed w were able to be integrated into XBOX MSFS! Seeing the runway diagrams, procedure charts, glideslopes. etc. was so unreal (then weeks later I learned A310 can fetch my SimBrief FP too, along with Honda Jet I will buy very soon!) And this plane just WORKED flawlessly, integrated and streamlined like you said, no BS busy work buttons, very stable and practical at all phases of flight! I would love to fly in real one or learn so bad- probably none around here in CT.
After many SF50 hours in MSFS, your content is helping me take it to the next level - greatly appreciated. One thing that would be really valuable is if you were to demonstrate one or two of the emergency scenarios that the training ctr focuses on during your annuals ... understanding that the sim is limited in that regard. My interest is in practicing some of the scenarios in this aircraft in the sim. I certainly can do that from the emergency procedures in the manual, but the perspective you bring in your online content is just fantastic, high value. And thanks for your active participation in discord as well
Unfortunately a lot of the functionality required to simulate the emergency scenarios we practice in the TC are missing from the FlightFX sim. If they’re added (or if they’re in the RSG version for XP) I’ll make those videos.
Hi Tim, i just wanted to say thank you for this awesome video. I love this airplane on msfs 2020 and it’s amazing to get more knowledge from a real pilot. This makes our experience much more real :) greeting’s from Colombia
A very informative tutorial of the Vision Jet, if possible please repeat same flight in the updated version of the vision jet. Looking forward to more of your videos.
Fantastic video thanks for all the information. I really enjoyed all the background details on training and where it happens. The problem with buying a new jet is it doesn't come with a manual or a checklist. If they included those I would probably buy more! Well thanks for taking the time to put up a video.
Loved this video! Thank you for the efforts! I love the AC and so happy that FlightFX made a good one. Lots to improve but they will I'm sure. AND WT will help! Keep up the great work!
The vision jet to me is outstanding as per safety redundancies built into it including the auto landing and parachute systems. A step further I ll love to see as an improvement or addition is in auxiliary or redundant pilot probes with heaters in case the primary ones fail.
Great video. I used it to create my own cheat sheet for start up of this lovely little plane in MSFS. Thanks for creating it! Quick question to anyone - how do I move around the cockpit so fluidly as shown in this video? That’d make my virtual flying so much more enjoyable.
Hey Tim, just found your channel (subscribed) this morning after purchasing the FlightFX Vison jet yesterday. Loving it and not a massive stretch after having the HondaJet for more than a year. 2 questions: 1-what is you suggested trim setting? 2-Are there no landing call outs - Mins, 50, 40, 30 etc
As long as trim is in the green band you are good for takeoff. There are no landing callouts because it is a very small aircraft and therefore the flare guidance is not needed. There should be a minimums callout though.
Love this jet in xplane 11 and the caps system did work in xplane 11. Thanks for the video. They've added more functional features, a quick revisit would be great.
"Punishment Vectors" ( 46:35 ) is going to be the name of my next band! Excellent video! Have you considered doing a "differences" video (pre vs post release) now that the jet has had a couple of updates? I don't own it yet so I'm not sure of the impact of the updates. It's possible they are not substantial enough to warrant a video.
Tim if you're ever in San Antonio area would love to see the Honda Jet. BTW, this Veteran rolled USAF, lol, but the Honda Jet may be on my bucket list next year.
Wish I could use this jet. I suffer from screens shorting out and loss of all autopilot at random times. I have a beefy pc with a 4070ti and this is the only plane this happens on. Anyone else having these issues? It really seems like it’s the plane and not anything else because nothing like this happens on any other plane even ones with g5000s. I hope they fix this because I love this plane.
Do you have any mods installed? Some of them, even on the Xbox, were messing with my planes FMS and MFD's so it's good to check into that and start uninstalling some to see if they are the issue.
this is an awesome video, thanks! relative to other payware aircraft in msfs2020 I think the one by FlightFX for the Vision Jet is really high level, too high level.
Thank you so much for this instruction. My question is that I do not see the TOD marker on the map. Is there a setting that needs to be turned on> to display the TOD point?
Not sure if the A/T is just still not working properly or if there is an approach mode to activate? I might have done something wrong but just flew my first flight in this and the A/T never targeted speeds for approach.
Enjoying your SF50 series, I noticed in another video (also 4 months ago) that you managed to turn off yaw damper on short final, no mention about it (after video editing I think), but not this time. Unless I missed it, there's no button to activate or deactivate it. I've tried to associate a button on my Bravo Throttle cadran, but it doesn't go off after turning yellow and flashing for one second! So, how can we control it in the SF50 ? All the aircraft I've flown so far in msfs, we have to deactivate it before landing. Thanks
Thanks for the answer, this is what I thought after seeing a few more videos from others. But in this video, it did not deactivate so I was surprised. This is like almost all the flight I have done so far with the plane, it won't go off. I'll check again. Anyway, always interesting to see real life videos also, heers !
Great video! I loved the comparison with what you do in RL and what the sim can support. It really helps guide me as I practice how to fly this in the sim. In the real plane do you pull up charts on screen or do you have an EFB with all your charts?
hey i live right by mcgee tyson thats my airport in the sim very cool. do you work for cirrus? 5 right engine failure you can just land on alcoa highway lol
I have just picked up the Vision Jet and for some reason in the utilities menu I cannot access the weight and fuel screen or in the Initialization page I cannot access the weight & balance page so cannot perform the initiation properly. Am I missing something? I can set the fuel and payload from the default MSFS menu though. Thanks for making this video

If I turn on autothrottle during climbing, it CANCELS FLC and doesn't change the current speed anymore. However! It keeps climbing forever, ignoring the set altitude target! Why is that? I tried out many variations of settings in the cockpit, also rewatched your instructions several times, but still can't figure out what's going on. :/ Also, VNAV sometimes simply forgets to follow up to the next leg and just keeps altitude. And I have to go around, because I miss my glideslope. Do I do something wrong, or it is really this buggy, and I should just use VS?
Thanks for the video. I was looking into the specific procedure to prepare for Takeoff, when the pilot have to set the TOGA mode, but I was somewhat confusing in the video (a bit too fast) and I'm still wondering where the button/switch is located in both the real aircraft and in MSFS. Could you please?
Cool video, lots of details to know, thanks! Question though, and despite many years of flight simming, I'm still learning when it comes to flight planning, so when you entered the "direct to" command to Nashville (25:42), wouldn't that normally wipe out all of the previously entered waypoints? Or am I thinking of the Garmin 430/530?
Does anyone know 1 year later if this product took off? is it worth it? thanks so much, just following up now they they've had a chance to get all the bugs out.
The auto thrust changes from IAS hold to Mach hold at 18,000 feet. In the real aircraft, this is indicated by the speed target changing from (e.g.) 150 knots to M0.231. What altitude are you stalling at? The ceiling is 31,000 feet.
@@riscfuture Thanks for responding. I was stalling at ~14,000 feet, well below the change from IAS to Mach. I had VS set in the ballpark of 2500-3000 fpm. When the aircraft began stalling I lowered the fpm to ~1000 and the aircraft was barely recovering and above stall speed. I tried to take the aircraft out of AT but even when I did I couldn’t go past 30% and could barely regain my speed back. Not sure what caused this one that flight, could’ve very well been my VS. I tried again a few more times after writing this comment and noticed that when I set the AT to MAN and set the it to 165 manually it would *kind of* stay at my selected climb speed of 165. It would dip down to 145 at some times for no reason and then go back up. During that attempt I was climbing at 1300 fpm.
@@dirtytreerat14 the vision jet cannot sustain 3000 fpm above about 6000 feet or so. This is why we climb in FLC mode and not VS mode. An engine’s ability to generate thrust decreases with altitude. 30% thrust is normal at high altitudes.
The red lights in the overhead are on all the time in the real jet, day and night. To know which altitude you need to be at, you can consult the chart for the DP/STAR or check the flight plan page (in the real aircraft).
is there a solution to connecting to an external gpu when there is no option at the airport I am starting at? My I keep getting an engine bus volts warning and a few mins later it will shut off
The Perspective Touch does not respect vertical restrictions in the climb, only in the descent. You must set the altitude bug yourself to keep from busting altitudes.
@@riscfuture it has recently been implemented on the large knob on gtc1. Great video, btw. Transitioning from arrival to approach to faf is rather bizarre in msfs g3000/5. Consider shorter rw flights, like TEC routes in ZLA like pilotedge, then use active pause to explain. Still should be under 1hr. Love CU of instruments, don't care about scenery as much in training videos. Good luck.
Been flying xp since 99. Mainly the aerobask p300 with g1000 on vatsim. The g1000 is well impllemented in xp by ringler. The sf50 is only g1000. Xp is years away from g3000/5000. I recently had to go to msfs due to perf issues ( i run 4 monitors with air manager) in xp and their weather is 1-2 yrs from reality. In jan the aau1 update by msfs will make g3000/5000 very good. The vj g2 in msfs flies almost identical to xp sf50 g1. Sadly, i love the guys at lr, but they will be way behind as soon as aau1 is released. No offense, take care.
It goes a lot quicker when you don't explain every step. IRL I can get from battery on to ready to taxi in a few minutes without skipping steps. "Airspeed alive" is a standard callout.

Yes, there is a TOGA button on the real aircraft

It's programmed automatically when you select the approach. If needed, you can manually tune the nav radios from the comms display on GTC3.

Do you set climb speed when you sel FLC before take off, or let the auto throttle set the the climb speed?
IRL, all you have to do is turn on the A/T in FMS mode and it will set it automatically. Not working in the sim yet.

How do you acknowledge alerts like the probe heat.?
In the real aircraft, you can tap the caution indication on the GTC in order to acknowledge the alert. That’s not modeled in the Sim yet.
@riscfuture thank you! I thought I was just crazy for a moment lol.
How does one manage VNAV in the climb phase with waypoint ALT restrictions on a SID, I seem to bust all ALT restrictions on the SID in VS mode?

Any new update this jet?
Are you using TrackIR?
Yes
One more, so there is no Taxi light ?
The landing lights can serve as a taxi light
can I cross this over to Xplane, in general?
No, X-Plane is a completely different sim with its own API.
thanks bro
awsome
Are you using VR with the Sim?
looks like trackIR
Cant be track IR or Tobii, those work, but not very well with this plane, you cannot move your head forward and backwards with this one.
@@NickEvans80 what? you can.. that’s what profiles are for
It's easy to fly but it needs some serious improvements. X-Plane 12 Cirrus Vision Jet feels so much better to fly.
Hmmmm.... not seeing which buttons you're pressing.
Try showing mouse in the recording.
I’m glad you were wearing your mask in that picture. Wouldn’t want you to contract Covid from the jet. Good call.
who the hell will watch a movie in vision jet xD

taken you over 30 mins to do preflight. And why. airspeed alive? who made that up?
It goes a lot quicker when you don't explain every step. IRL I can get from battery on to ready to taxi in a few minutes without skipping steps. "Airspeed alive" is a standard callout.
