- It’s been a while since my last video! Thanks to those who have always reached out. It means a lot! There has been a lot of transition going on over the past few months! I haven’t been able to fly the Vision Jet much, until now.
Hopefully this was helpful on finding a mindset to feel proficient and current in the Vision Jet. Switching airframes is a lot of fun but there is some work on developing the mindset of the plane you are flying!
More videos to come! This will be a lot of fun!
Thanks,
Al
This is definitely a rare video for me
To be able to be walked through the planning and everything is interesting
Awesome you found it interesting!
As an airline pilot who's never flown a jet this small, this is interesting to watch.
Hello. I've been watching so many flight videos in the last 2 years and far away from taking lessons and buying my own plane. This video is exactly what I and people who have never flown need in order to understand the precise details needed to prepare, operate and fly. If I ever get to flying this is exactly the type of video I would be making to teach others. I wish the popular pilot guys would do this too. This really helps us understand how much is involved in flying. Thank you so much for making this video much appreciated.
I did the same thing but now i finished my ppl. Do it man you won’t regret it. Getting out of a planned spin the first time and pulling it off is a feeling of understanding of your skills you will never forget
I'm not a pilot and I'm pretty new to watching aviation videos these past couple of months in particular the Vision Jet but this has been my favourite video so far because you guys really zoomed in too the displays, talked through everything and it's really helped understand what you guys are looking at so a very well done, I've not seen any other pilots take as much time to do that for the viewers. Thanks guys. Respect all the way from Scotland 👍🏴
Amazing walk through on flight planning with ForeFlight and presentation of the Vision Jet. Great job!
Thank you!
Probably the absolute BEST example of flight planning I’ve seen thank you Al
Thank you!
This was a fantastic tutorial. I know how hard it is to do in flight instructional videos and am so impressed with how smooth everything came out. All questions answered!
This is the best walk through I have seen guy top class video. Looking forward to the day I can order one. Thanks guys.
Every time that ball point gets near the screen, I start to flinch. 🤣
Yikes!
Excellent video! As a budding flight enthusiast without any flight lessons yet, I appreciate the level of detail in the video.
Thank you for going over Foreflight specifics. This is helpful to understand the program. I’m an old flyer that has not flown in years attempting to understand the new technology.awesome keep up take care ❤💯💯🌹🌹🌷🌷🚀🚀💎☑🔷 thanks for postings greeting from canada love you
Thank you! Glad this was helpful.
That jet looks fun
It’s a blast.
Amazing video. Love the huge amount of detail that you go into that other creators edit out. Fascinating to see all that goes into each flight. Really excited to see what you do in the future. Only thing missing from this one was the landing imo. Can't wait for the next one!
That was a nice and detailed explanation of how things work in the vision jet.
Love the positive attitude. Nice flying folks.
glad to see a new video!
Had a blast flying with ya, Al, let’s do it again soon!
Thank you for going over Foreflight specifics. This is helpful to understand the program. I’m an old flyer that has not flown in years attempting to understand the new technology.
wow step by step best vision jet video I seen thus far inspiring me to become a pilot
Thank you!
Wow, nice jet. Can’t wait to pick one up, after I hit the jackpot
this part is insane 20:02
So many RUclips aviation videos start the camera getting into the aircraft - but all of the interesting work is in the flight preparation before then. It's really nice to see a vid that STOPs at the takeoff, and concentrates on the preflight prep.
All the same steps I learned on paper in the '80s, but prompted by aps and onboard glass cockpit systems instead of having to remember each process.
WOW! Now that was amazing... Next time, take us with you to the restaurant! What a great learning video to just see what all goes on. Also take us through the landing as well when you can... This was AWESOME!!!!
..new sub..so awesome..such an exciting plane..and a great place and position..for the future..best wishes..and keep em coming..
Thanks for joining!!!
Great video Al, thanks for sharing
Great Video with details and good explanation! 👍 well done
Glad you enjoyed it.
I've watched a few of your videos and this one is the one that I've enjoyed most. Thanks!!!
Really enjoy your videos. Al, you're so down to earth and it's a joy to ride along.
This was such an awesome and enjoyable video. The deatail in the cockpit was amazing. It was such a treat to see are the cool features of the Vision Jet in an actual prettier off scenario. Fora172 low time pilot such as myself, this was so nice to see and to be able to live the experience vicariously through you. More please! Fly well brother.
Thank you! Congratulations on all your flyign!
Most informative
Glad it was helpful!
Great video, Al. Thanks. And just to prove the old adage that it's easier to fly from the right seat, (1) your strobes weren't on, and (2) you didn't tell the tower you couldn't climb at 250. John Skittone and I beat each other up all day on this stuff, and it's the guy in the right seat that's always perfect! ;-) it's always something! Great video!
Always good to learn to grow and have another set of eyes!
VERY nice video; thank you!
Didn't the chart say to notify CLEARANCE of the
Great video - good presentation as well. Thanks gents!
Great Video Al. Like the details
Glad you enjoyed it.
What an amazing little jet! The future keeps coming faster and faster. I can't imagine where we'll be in another 20-30 years.
Al, great to meet you at Renton this weekend. I just wanted to say that this video (brand new G2+ murdered out) will really help me when I fly a vision Jet tomorrow with Fiscus. I have flown before the vision jet but forgot where some of the information comes from on the German instrumentation. Thanks for great videos!
Nice one Al! Welcome to Cali!-Ren
Excellent video presentation. Quite interesting. I enjoyed watching it very much and thanks to you guys for doing it. .
What a fantastic video Al. Thanks for the help!
Fantastic !
Looks like a blast! It’s amazing that the smart phone talks to the smart jet, run by a couple of smart guys!
I’ve been flying the flightfx visionjet on FS2020 , as a PPC holder, I find the cirrus jet very easy to fly with minimal workload.. it’s a lovely machine
Really cool video. Lots of information. Thanks
Really found how to carry out the checks, how to download the Flight Plan and how this aircraft just functions an enthralling 40 minutes of interest.... yeah of course envious that I probably wont get the opportunity but if the numbers come up, know what I am going to learn to do! Thanks for this, enjoyed a lot!
Holy cow that's a lot just to get going! Gotta love all the electronics! I wouldn't know lol.
I am not a Pilot I was an aircraft tech in the Royal Australian Airforce. I use to be a Ground Runner on the Caribou (2 R2000 Radials) I was watching your start check list and man it was never that simple in a Caribou.
Wow, I wish my airbus 321 was as advanced as this aircraft.
Great video guys, the vision jet is certainly something that would be on my list if I was in the market for one of these planes. I would love to have seen you stick the landing though. Cheers!🥂
Great Video!
another amazing video about the VJ.
Excellent presentation
Glad you enjoyed.
At Scottsdale, you should have asked to work the pattern and did a couple of touch and goes, knock out those two landings.
Truly a biiig goal for me to get one, so videos like this just refocus me. Thank you for uploading this.
Wow this made me want to take flight lessons!! Nice job gentlemen!
Can you share how/where you get the SF50 Flight Data pad? Is that something Cirrus provides, or something that can be purchased directly? Also curious if there is something similar for the SR series.
Yes, I would like to see that as well. (I know I am chiming in a year late)
Excellent video... thanks for sharing.
Interesting, thanks !
Why can't you program everything before turning on the engine?
You need power for the air system for comfort, you also need power for all the instruments.
@@Tmm42s You don't need the engines to provide the power to program everything, which does not take that long.
I go to volenti at SDL all the time, still instructing in piston aircraft, hopefully I can fly a Visionjet one day
Awesome. I will be through there a lot. Great restaurant. If you see us on the ramp, say hello!
How much has the thrust increased on the G2? And has its ceiling increased any?
That preflight sure takes a while!
Great video! 👍
really interesting video thanks
am in love with the vision jet.
Extreme useful video
This is great fun! Love this jet! But a question arises... you said you were using Rwy 35R, But what turned green on the display was a runway oriented roughly ay 27 - or due west. What gives? 35 is almost North.
I Alan happy new year to you buddy. Hope you are well and ready for a awesome year .What a beautiful day for flying the vision. Nice to see you have got the vision all sorted out and ready to fly. philip hope's to see you soon. Take care and happy flying to you.weather it's the vision or the cirrus sr22t aircraft phil.
I want that jacket. Can’t find them at Cirrus. Getting a G2 Vision Jet in June. Owned 4 planes in the SR series.
That’s so cool
Really interesting. So cool seeing a plane like this after watching a bunch of rebuild airplane junkers vids. That’s one pricey lunch in gas alone though.
which application is that on phone ?
Garmin Pilot
The briefing flight data cards you used. Are they readily available ?
Try to use screen recording and edit that into the video. Between fingernails and odd video angles the ForeFlight portion was a bit thought to follow.
This is good feedback. Always trying to keep these videos simple. Will try to expand...
Hey Al, Awesome video with just the detail I need as a high time CFI/Multi. At 81 years old I stopped flying the "Real" stuff some time ago. I always felt; If you can't fly 10+ hrs/mo...you shouldn't be flying. SO !! I went to X-PLANE11/12. Guess what? They have the Fusion on there with exactly your panel, etc. Your presentation is going to get me locked to doing the checklists right. Perhaps someday you put together a (brief) tutorial with performance/wt./balance charts to help me(us) better plan climb/cruising/descent profiles. I have taken to flying all over Europe in this beauty. I'm including all my old flying buddies (FEDEX,etc) by copying your site over to them. 3 of them already want to buy this PUPPY. OG-ZSE/ZOA
how long it will take me to be trained to fly this beautiful small jet. if you know kindly answer me.
thanks
Can you list some reasons why you like Foreflight vs. Garmin Pilot?
Nice video, now I'm confident I can land a 747 next time pilots get food poisoning.
Where can I get some of those flight data cards
i have about 30 hrs in a Cessna 210. how long to upgrade to the Cirrus? do you need an IFR ticket? is that included in the price?
There's a good way to go before you'll be ready for a light jet, and without an IF rating you're wasting your money. Single pilot IFR is very demanding, even in an aircraft this modern. Don't let that put you off though.
I wonder if u can just put and make your flight plan on your phone, thought an app and than download it, into the plane's FMS, once you're in and ready to go. That would be super cool! I just fly on Microsoft Flight sim and I do RC planes too, for a hobby.
Al
Enjoyed going through the flight plan and route process on ForeFlight with an IPhone! I use the IPad mini myself. Once the engine is started and sucking jet fuel(💰), I am thinking that there has to be a quicker way the get the pre-taxi checks completed more expeditiously and save some fuel/money in the process. For example get ATIS before the engine is started. I am pretty sure the flight plan can be bluetoothed in with the plane on battery power. How sensitive is the battery for it to have sufficient juice to start after having it on for 5-8 minutes?
On the take-off do you engage the TOGA switch with heading mode engaged to get an initial pitch reference attitude? Thanks for the effort…. 👍
Patrick from Albuquerque
Hi Patrick. This is all great. We went slow in this video. There is a quicker flow to this. Once we are up and running, programed and ATC clearance received we can be through it in 3 mins!
Where can I buy the data plan notepad you used in the video
How much fuel burned at idle power over 19 minutes?
Burned roughly 6 gallons.
Great Job !! CAN YA be too old to learn to fly the G2??
i want to own this aircraft and get the necessary training to fly it.
Hey Al, where do you get the TOLD card for the sf50 you are using? cirrus store?
With these modern aircraft is there backups to the screens for basic avionics?
Hello, where can I purchase the SF50 flight plan notepad that you use in the video? Thank you!
Can I get a copy of that paper that you use for the in cockpit comms, etc.
The performance calculations and weight and balance should be done prior to engine start. Just in case something doesn’t jive plus you’re waisting fuel.
Why u bring the gear up so soon? Would you not want it down to land back on the runway if you flame out at 100 or 200 feet?
Where did you get the SF50 Data sheet you use?
Try downloading it here: www.dropbox.com/s/47a9u3034l3wvmm/SF50%20Flight%20Data.pdf?dl=0
If I ever win the lottery, I'm buying this sucka & I'll hire you to teach me how to fly it.. 🤟
Al
Does the SF50 have a AoA indicator?
Yes it does on the nose of the right side.
Didn't realise Microsoft flight simulator had this insane graphics
18:00 - Wouldn't ATIS tell you departing/landing runways?
Should of use Mesa Falcon field as alternate to stay out of all commerical traffic.
my plane has a parachute I can pull. if my plane gets in to trouble I can just pull the chute and float to the ground. even if the engine breaks down i will be fine
Let me know how the Vision handles on Hand fly in IMC condition
It's crazy that 70 percent of the video is the pilot staring at a screen. I wouldn't turn down the experience, I think I'd rather be cornfield flying
You guys need Go-Pro on both sides of the windows ,and in the front of the cockpit and behind overhead the seats and the wings .
Always looking to get better production feedback.
