Fixer - "Hold up, Squad…I'm getting a read on something big headed this way." Scorch - "Hope it's not a spider droid". Sev - "Guess what? It's a spider droid".
@Baldur That's completely untrue. They only lost the war due to Sidious's sabotages. Every time the Separatists gained an edge over the Republic with like a new droid or ship or tactic they would let it have it's fame then have it defeated by a miracle. Dooku did nothing to stop it because he thought it was apart of some "grand plan" which it was. (To build a empire) The CIS were never meant to win the war so you can't call them sore losers. If Sidious stood back and let the Dooku, Grevious, and the other Sep generals and admirals run the war the outcome of the war would've been different. Grevious with his armada decimated the Inner rim and crippled the Republic during operation Durge's lance. Now let's get to what they accomplished. First of all, the CIS went down in history as having the most powerful droid armies in history.
@Baldur Clearly you have no knowledge on the subject if you can't even come up with a rebuttal point except rephrasing your original point plus acting like a little bitch. I'll tell you again in a way so your small mind to handle it. You can't call them losers when they are rigged to loose from the beginning.
I like that the CIS has so many really unique looking droids because so many SW factions have very little diversity in their weapons.(compared to other factions)
I love the notion that the Empire would recomission these guys. It seems like such a waste of material that more Clone Ware-era surplus isn't in use more frequently, i.e. nearly everyone wearing armor should probably have at least some element of Clone armor, because given its mass production, it should have been ridiculously cheap.
IIRC, many of the droids were destroyed to prevent rebelling forces from acquiring them. Since the clone troopers back then were hardwired into loyalty to the Empire, they were seen as the better mobilization force than droids which could be captured, mined for information, and reprogrammed. Thus used sparingly, and even then K-2SO...
Another important thing with these lovable little monsters is that on some occasions, it seemed like they could almost sense that danger was approaching and warn it's allies, even of it didn't know what was wrong it knew something was, and their warnings saved some smarter tactical druids who heeded the warnings I love these things, they're such great units, 1 of my all time favorites for CIS units
What I remember about the Spider Droids from Republic Commando, was how terrifying they were to me as a child. Every time one of those things would appear I felt like I was gonna shit my pants while fighting those things.
I love how anything with any level of obscurity in Star Wars gets like 3 videogame counterparts, one of which literally just has more guns, and another one of which is just bigger.
I like the attack dog reference to. Because on Teth a B1 says good shot good shot to a dwarf spider droid as it takes down an ATTE. Then it reply's to the B1 if it were a dog or a pet. Also those advanced Dwarf Spider droids were a pain the ass in republic commando. So taking them down must have been a great feat for even clone commandos. In addition to the heavy cannon and missiles it could also do a stomp attack that sent waves of electricity that could zap clone troopers and commandos alike to death and working as an emp to a troopers gear i suppose. The standard Dwarf Spider droid might stealthy and quick firing mowing clone trooper ranks like its nothing but also a bit of glass cannon. Where is the advanced Dwarf Spider Droid is its slow tanky cousin from hell. It maybe slower and shoot a lot slower but it has a lot more punch to it and it can also charge up its cannon like a standard dwarf spider droid but again has a lot more kick to it. Its essential a light tank on legs that has a droid brain which is scary. So even in limited numbers paring them up with standard dwarf spider droids would make for one hell of blood bath for the clones even if they do win the fight that would leave terrible memories for the clone surviving veterans. As if the standard wasn't bad enough and the ability to call upon an OG-9 if that wasn't enough firepower lol.
The spider droid was one of my best droid in Star Wars but I do like how some of the CIS droids survived order 66 and after rise of Skywalker stunning army
I like them because they are multi-Purpose, enough firepower to be a big threat to any medium-level-Riot, and powerful enough to even serve in real wars, by beeing cheap enough to deploy them in some numbers
on the scene that the at-te falls down the cliff,u can see that the spider droid punched through the window of the cockpit and (somehow) detonated some kind of fuel or ammunition, exploding the interior and disabling the walker. I can tell that is hit the glass because a spider droid later on did the same thing to another walker on a relatively fast fire rate
@MetaNerdz Lore I think a video on those winged battle droids from the new Bad bAtch Arc would be pretty cool. I really liked this video tho! Keep up the good work!

Hey, I just watched the new episode of The Clone Wars, and I would love to see a video on the new droids seen throughout the second half of the episode, as well as on the ship which the Bad Batch use as their personal shuttle :) thanks so much for making such awesome content!!
Anyone else think the spider droid would be a sick reinforcement that could combat the clone commando in a fair fight in battlefront 2? Probably like a reinforcement or tank or something?
I feel like the submersible dsd variant's larger barrel is probably designed to allow the water to drain faster. Guns CAN fire underwater but the barrel MUST be filled. If you just put the barrel top in the water and fire it will create an overpressure in the barrel turning it into a pipe bomb.
Can you do a Breakdown of the Droids that were used on Sako Minor in episode 2 & 3 of season 7 of the clone wars. Im reallly interested in these droids for their unique design & abilities which makes me want to know more about them in case theres any details that are hidden. So far of what i know of these droids are their multiple integrated laser blasters, the ability to fly, & their ability to speak in both basic & their own encrypted language between themselves & potentially other droids.
Honestly let's build these for real. I've always said droids will be the future of military defence systems and even having a design based on these would be practical. Design the carterage to be an anti tank and anti aircraft. These can be used on top of buildings and having it designed for infered sensors would make it able to detect heat and mainly target vehicles. But an anti capture system should be made so other milletary systems cannot utilise them. A way of reducing rogue units. But seriously if the droid army was real and stationing the factories in outer areas to prevent known enemies unable to sabotage the assembly line.
This brings back old memories of me play Star Wars Clone Wars on my PS2. These little guys were easy to destroy, but they would always explode so I had to destroy them using the force or by throwing my lightsaber at it. Having them explode while other battle droids were standing close by was a good tactic. So it doesn’t make any sense to put an army of Dwarf droids close to each other because if one of them blows up then that could cause a chain reaction where they all blow up. Also before this video I did not know that they can climb walls like an actual spider that’s crazy.
Im surprised they didn't design the thing to be extremely mobile and agile kind of like jumping spiders. Imagine these things scurrying around the battlefield quickly hopping left and right to avoid heavy fire while at the same time firing on the move. It would have been quite a scary thing to fight against. But somehow in the story its walking like its a heavily armored walker...which it isn't 😑
I mean, with those big eyes and that single turret, it is the droid that I could see being puppy like cause it is sort of cute like a dog. Personal 2nd favourite droid in star wars after the octuptarra
Hey meta nerd I know you love your stats I’d love to get your reaction to the Live Free or Die Troy Class BattleGlobe Edit: you might have to get the books on audible to understand how they build the thing but in my opinion it’s 1000x better than the Death Star 2 as a mobile fleet killing battle platform. Not only does it carry a city, 10 missile fabbers, 1 ship fabber, 6 250,000 missile clips 100 missile and laser tubes per section, vessel bypass launch tubes, 100 meters of fullerene ablative armor, a 42 ship troop transport wing (basically LAATs that operate in space. But have 400 gravities of acceleration) 190 petawatts of internal laser power, a city, a kilometer and a half Nickel Iron shell, and 4 battalions of marines. It’s 10 km in diameter and an absolute monster of a platform. If your interested check out the Troy Rising series! I only spoiled like 1/99 of the books.

I find it VERY strange that the Commerce Guild would be purchasing droids with long range sniping capabilities to go after miners underground. However, that then begs the question, who designed a droid with both sniping and digging capabilities in the first place? 2 year old comment, but a lot of the stuff that the empire didn’t use was completely destroyed to prevent people from using the super useful surplus

I would love a "empire at war" set in the prequels, The DSD would be a perfect fire support.
Use the Republic At War or Fall of the Republic Mod
Or the clone wars mod and its submod
They also seem to have a flak firing mode, which is used as early as Geonosis and Teth.
