The Providence-class carrier/destroyer Dreadnought was perhaps the most important ship in the CIS Navy. Carrying Vulture droids, Tri droid fighters, Hyenas, B1 droids and serving multiple roles like command for entire CIS fleets, other capital ships and commanded by General Grievous, Count Dooku, and Admiral Trench.

Reminds me of an ironclad like the CSS Virginia.
One of my favorite things with the seperstist fleet is how compact and skeletal everything is, it makes sense considering the advanced ai that the seperstist loved so much but it's just so cool that each factions donations have their own signature style

@@daveortwine2641 palps was the 3rd party behind the scenes guy, vader was just anakin who got converted by ol' palpy for his grand scheme, and palpy chose to use the Republic to turn into the Empire instead of the CIS
@@daveortwine2641 okay Luke han and leia are part of the rebel alliance which didn't exist until after the clone wars and after the republic turned into the galactic empire, the separatists or the Confederacy of Independent Systems or CIS is a faction that split off the republic and started the clone wars palatine was the leader of the republic during the clone wars and after the clone wars was finished reorganized it into the galactic empire, after the empire fell Leia luke han Mon mothma all reorganized the rebel alliance into the New Republic
So basically it was based off of the Scharnhorst and Gneisenau: "It can outgun anything it can't outrun and outrun anything it can't outgun."

@@jakegrant5698 outgun? yes outrun? yes/no. they were faster in their max speed not their endurance speed. you cant keep the steam trubine at max speed the whole time, also the fuel consumption was lower for the Deutschland than the Repulse, renown and hood because it uses Diesel Engine not steam engine which gives them a better range.
@@einfachignorieren6156 you're right about the endurance, but that's not very relevant. Either of the British Battlecruisers would have caught up to a Deutschland before its additional range became a factor

@@MetaNerdzLore Yes, the double length version (reportedly) Although scaling has sometimes hinted the regular one is nearer 1.5 km long, based on hangar, etc.
I assume the bridges are different sizes, though. Re-used from the animated Munificent, in fact, for the dreadnought.

This is literally my favourite ship type in Star Wars, I loved watching through this video!
It's worth mentioning that the larger variant of the Providence would actually be 8x the size of the standard version. If it is about exactly double the dimensions of the standard variant, then it is 2x the length, 2x the height, and 2x the width, for a total of 8x the overall size/volume (2x2x2). If I remember the math right, this also means it had 4x the surface area of the standard Providence, meaning 4x the space to mount weapons and such. With 8x the volume, that's potentially 8x the fighter/bomber complement, and 8x the ground troop complement of a regular Providence.
Plus, since it would have 4x the surface area but 8x the volume, that means that the designers could have packed 4x as many weapons, shield generators, etc onto the hull, but 8x as much power generation to power it all, meaning that it would have proportionately double the available power for each of those systems compared to the smaller version, which would make the up-sized Providence significantly deadlier than "4x the weaponry" would imply, and significantly tougher than "4x the shield generation capacity" would suggest. The upscale Providence Dreadnought would truly be a BEAST of a warship, one that would almost certainly be at least a match for an Imperator-I in a one-on-one slugging match, if not superior to that later design.

It appears the providence is way more versatile than even the Venator. Lucrehulk capital ships will always be my favorite
Well it was better armed for fighting other capital ships, that's for sure, for everything else, I see them as close equals, but the Providence does appear to have a better distributed point Defense system

The larger variant of the providence would definitely be my flagship of choice, hands down. It’s just so good in every aspect from weapons, having plenty of weapons and lots of variety, to a huge amount of battle droid storage and fighter storage, plus you can have fighters on the outside as-well as extra fighters or extra point defence. And with the insane speed and strong durability it’s just such a good all around ship with no real weakness that packs a very strong punch

I had an idea for a modified version of this ship for my Star Wars faction “the lost separatist” called the capsule ship. Basically the front area of the ship was hollowed out and replaced with large racks of vulture, hyena, or tri fighters. The main hanger was where they would have landed and automated arms would pick them up and rerack them.

1.5 million battle droids. Per ship. This is why the CIS would have won without the meddling of Dooku and Sidious. They outnumbered the clones at least 10 to 1. And without using a slave army.
That's debatable. The clones were originally basically meat droids and the droids were more sentient then you expect. It was always meant to be a both sides are bad because they're both manipulated by sidious, but of course TCW ruined that. They both were slaves, the only difference being what they're made of. I think TCW would've done better if they kept everything consistent with the movies and if there's been a plot line about anakin being against the clones (ex slave, TCW treated him like an action hero with anger issues) but learning that they don't really have any individuality or free will, only really seeing that in commandos and to an extent ARCs

That trio of ships tactics makes sense for when you're getting fed information because you can jump in without much fear of, say, jumping right into 6 Venetors waiting to curb-stomp you.
Without getting fed Intel through it becomes way more risky because you could jump into a fleet that just obliterates you.
Definitely my most preferred artist on lore in general when it comes to Star Wars Lord's is done perfectly in the military aspect in my opinion

Imagine making use of the large version of the Providence in the Imperial era as a rebel ship. And how it would stand up against Imperial star destroyer.
Assuming they are built with contemporary technology and materials it would be more than a match.

Separatists ships always seemed so much cooler to me; more so than their Republic counterparts.
About the attacks on medical facilities, that sort of thing (destroying logistics and swiftly hammering soft targets, not war crimes) are actually what things like battleships were mainly intended for. Even the existence of ship-to-ship battles is just a side-effect of each side trying to attack and defend their logistics, not the actual purpose of a warship.
It's a war crime to engage medical facilities.

@@MetaNerdzLore Fun fact, the 'heavy ion cannons' are actually the deck guns we see onscreen, with chains of shells being loaded aboard. This was corrected in the Complete Vehicles reprint.
We see similar guns in Clone Wars TV a few times, too.

The Providence Class dreadnought of the Separatist Navy is a very unique design. However I can see that the observation deck on the spire at the aft section of the vessel can be used as a secondary bridge helm. That can be used as both a shuttle and emergency escape ship. 😮

My favorite separatist ship and probably one of my top 3 of SW as a whole
NerdZ,even though it's not mentioned in my headcanon I think the 2km version of the Providence-class can carry twice as many droids and ships than its normal version. Perhaps a 2km can carry 3 million droids, 92,000 passengers and 420 Starfighter droids
The width and the height of Providence class Dreadnought version is more larger with the longer length then the standard official dimensions posted which are for the smaller Providence class Destroyer/Carrier version.

I wish they made a story where a shipyard had continued to build ships long after the war had ended. And that it help in the rebel war effort. Possible distracting a good chunk of the imperial star destroyers in a different part of the galaxy during the battle of Endor
Fun fact: in legends there actually was a secret shipyard at Mon Cala that made almost a 1000 mon cala ships and it had a providence protecting it named Rebel One, it was a regular providence destroyer with Recausant Engines jammed in the back (so the 3 engines of the Providence + the 3 Engines of the Recausant) and the hangar was replaced with wings with engines and more weaponry attached, it was fast enough to not only blitz through enemy lines but also keep up with some corvettes as well as outgun Imperial star destroyers
Scary to think just how many droids and tanks are in just one ship. Like a full complement of that ship deployed could casually become a Large Ground force. Combined with the ground forces of other ships are just horrifiyng
The Invisible Hand Cantina on Coruscant is one of my favorite piece of lore ever. I wish you had brought it up.

@@NexusDex yep. The Back Half was a cantina on Coruscant crushed by the back half of the Invisible Hand. The owner of the Back Half took the wreckage and rebuilt his cantina and rebranded to the Invisible Hand Cantina. I like the name Back Hand more though.

@@metaknight115the Republic striped everything of value from the wreck. More likely that Dooku’s body was vaporized. The thing had no shields on re-entry.

LEGO finally made one of these, and specifically The Invisible Hand. It's a desktop model with a display stand and costs $50 USD.
I bought one, built it, and I love it. It splits in two, like in the movie!
I think that the thermal shields on trench ship was a unique modification,not standard for all ships of this class.

If the ship went into hyper space with vulturs on it, i presume the vultures would be fine
No resistance in space apart from the ship their standing on, I assume they just get dragged with it similar to how you jump on a train you dont fly backwards
