The first time I heard this song was on the school bus in 1984. I was 14 and loved this song and Billy Ocean's other songs. I sang this song so much, so much that Billy ended up telling me what was in my future. I married a woman from Trinidad, the same country that Billy's from. We're still together, going on 28 years, with three grown children. Thank you Billy!

Billy Ocean is one of those stars who never let it affect him as a person. He’s been married since 1978, you never hear about him doing stuff or drinking excessively, getting in trouble with the law or anything else bad. He’s refreshingly real
This song represents what is so great about music from the '80's: Good, clean lyrics that make you smile and want to dance. The song gets stuck in your head and is never tired.
I dunno, the things that define 80's music is more to do with the gated reverb, usage of synths, saxophones, and a very strong hook. Clean lyrics aren't really specific to the 80's as previous decades had that too.

I swear in all my life, having a taste of good music and growing up in the 70's, up until today and almost 50 years old, I always thought the title of this song was 'African Queen'. Well, as an African maybe that's what I wanted it to be, but what the heck, I will sing it as African Queen. Thank you Mr Billy Ocean for the good music.
I was at a Pennsylvania state-owned liquor store a few weeks ago which was built in 1974 and has never been remodeled… they still play music on cassettes from the 80's (or maybe even 70's) and it felt like I was back in time when this song started playing on the vintage 70's stereo speakers!
When I first heard this song in 1985, I was a teenager, and Billy was a grown man. These concepts lyrically were way beyond my comprehension. All I heard at the time was a rhythm and bass arrangement that mimicked "Billie Jean" and even had Vincent Price laughing in it. Mr Billy Ocean is one of the best singer of all time from the Caribbean...he brought the world so much wonderful sweet and lovely songs, he will never be forgotten.
She tried to tame a Tiger but Never will a Tiger be Tamed in it's Habitat. Billy got me so many years back i can't remember but Jam of All Times. 👑. Blessed
This was the JAM!!! Still sounds so good..boy could he sing, and he aged beautifully. I always loved the guitar hook and of course the sax is always nice.

What i could never have imagined is the pop charts are now a thing of the past. In the 80's in the UK, Sunday nights were spent religiously taping the UK top 40 as for while there it seemed like there was an all-time classic song released every week
Excellent music that was pure and shall be played for many more years. Please do not allow anyone other singer to sing this song. Billy Ocean numero uno!
80's songs always had such a wonderfully groovy feel and mood. Artists like Prince, Madonna, Huey Lewis, Billy Joel, Billy Ocean, Rod Stewart, etc. ... just awesome! 💪😎✌️

It's August 2024 and it's been 40 years since this single was first released, marking the start of Billy Ocean's comeback and rise of his music career in the '80s after his 8-year US one-hit wonder of 1976, "Love Really Hurts Without You", and that song is no longer a US one-hit wonder thanks to this 1984 comeback hit. On the Billboard Hot 100, "Love Really Hurts Without You" is the only '70s hit of Billy Ocean on that chart which peaked at #22 marking it a one-hit wonder in the US for 8 years. In 1984, this song topped the Billboard Hot 100 as his second Hot 100 hit and first #1.

Hola Amaya buen gusto de música saludos
You got that right!!
She's simply awesome
Ooh
[Verse 1]
She dashed by me in painted on jeans
And all heads turned 'cause she was the dream
In the blink of an eye I knew her number and her name, yeah
She said I was the tiger she wanted to tame
[Chorus]
Caribbean Queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run
[Verse 2]
I lose my cool when she steps in the room
And I get so excited just from her perfume
Electric eyes that you can't ignore
And passion burns you like never before
[Verse 3]
I was in search of a good time
Just running my game
Love was the furthest
Furthest from my mind
[Chorus]
Caribbean Queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run
[Chorus]
Caribbean Queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run
[Saxophone Solo]
[Chorus]
Caribbean Queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run
[Chorus]
Caribbean Queen
Now we're sharing the same dream
And our hearts they beat as one
No more love on the run
[Outro]
She is the queen
My Caribbean Queen
I said she dashed by me in painted jeans...
Your verse 3 is actually the bridge, which in the full version also appears after the first verse.
Wow! Un hombre de color ,cuánta elegancia en su vestir !! Que hermosa voz e interpretación !! Wow! Eran otros tiempos ! Aún no existía el maldito hip hop!
It was 1985 I was with a girl I was talking to for a few days , I picked her up in a 1969 corvette stingray that was my dads who passed away from cancer prior. Windows down playing this song headed for a night on the town. She’s been my wife for 36 years we always play this song in our anniversary
❤❤❤
Love this❤❤❤ congrats!!!

I just saw Billy Ocean perform live last week. He still sounds great and puts on a terrific show. Thanks for all the awesome memories, Billy.

Mr Billy Ocean is one of the best singer of all time from the Caribbean...he brought the world so much wonderful sweet and lovely songs, he will never be forgotten.
I would say Ocean is one of the most underrated vocalists. Fantastic vocals

Nice one , actually I’m really depressed right now, lost a coworker. very devastating , Needed someone to talk to
@@tyyepes3046 that's awful. I'm so sorry for your loss.
When this debuted in the top 40 in Sept, 1984 I had no doubt it would go to #1. The kind of music memories are made of.
Hi how are you doing today?
She tried to tame a Tiger but Never will a Tiger be Tamed in it's Habitat. Billy got me so many years back i can't remember but Jam of All Times. 👑. Blessed
Just discovered this song and I can't believe I've been deprived of it all this time in my 20 years of life. Thank you Billy Ocean 🙌🕺🏻
New to me as well. Lmao...was the credits song for the "reno 911" movie
Welcome to the 80s... the single greatest decade in recent history
How did this song reach your ears for the first time?
Same as me now! 😂
So nice to hear this from a 20 year-old. Thanks for your post!
que ritmo tan perfecto
con la voz incomparable
que continúen las mejores canciones , gracias por subirlaa
This was the JAM!!! Still sounds so good..boy could he sing, and he aged beautifully. I always loved the guitar hook and of course the sax is always nice.
Everything that was produced in the music world in the 70's, 80's and 90's is the best and there's nothing today that compares to that.
💯
Amen to that 🥂
Ditto
60's too!
Especially the 80s
This is real music
For sure!!!!those were the days😭😭😭😭when they made real music and the men and women were jamming.i miss the 80s all they have in this decade is junk!!!
😎
He dances like my Pete use to brings back great memories go Billy I love all of your music
This song brings back awesome memories!
Every music is real music.
I want to go back 90's to see my dad.. i just want to say that i love him... This song remind me the old day when i was kid. 😭
(Hugs)...Heaven is forever 💖
Your dad knows and will always be with you. You wouldn't be the person you are today without him being apart of that equation. Now, let's go forth and listen to more cheesy music!😉😊😎
Yes unfortunately we need to take care of our parents as much as we could, as tomorrow never comes. It’s always today
I felt this post💜💯
Listening to this, remembering my dad i miss him too

The 80's was by far the best decade for Pop Music ever.
Best for music and film
I agree!
What i could never have imagined is the pop charts are now a thing of the past. In the 80's in the UK, Sunday nights were spent religiously taping the UK top 40 as for while there it seemed like there was an all-time classic song released every week
So true ❤️
Guaranteed
Excellent music that was pure and shall be played for many more years. Please do not allow anyone other singer to sing this song. Billy Ocean numero uno!
Very nice thanks for your good 👍 music 🎶🎼🇺🇸🙏🎶🙏 bless you and your family 💞
