Their voices together are incredible. That being said, Philip Bailey absolutely murders the 1st verse after the opening chorus. It's impossible to not feel that thru your soul, partly cause the beat is absolutely crazy too.
Everyone is talking about their voices, yet I'm here in awe over Phil's drumming, every time. Some of the best pop drumming he's ever done, this one. Not to mention he played the keyboard and produced the whole thing.

I agree this is an awesome song but I wouldn't say it's even close to the most beautiful from the 80s. Guess it depends what you consider beautiful but I think the moody blues has all bands beat on beautiful meaningful music and lyrics from 60s all way to the 90s. Symphonic legends

This song is amazing. I love how they're just having fun, and learning from each other, respecting and appreciating each other's talents. They seem to have a real genuine friendship. I've been playing guitar for about 20 yrs, and a few times in my life I've been blessed to meet another musician thats helped me grow and humbly love this gift, and I in turn do the same for him/her...it's rare and a beautiful thing when it happens. As a former drummer/guitarist I approve of this message! #timelessmusic

Thank you! ❤ I wish the same to you!🎉
Amen u too
Even as a high school metalhead, I secretly enjoyed this song. These two should have worked together more.
From a metalhead to a metal head - we can appreciate real f@cken good music. The list goes on, and on. Guys like Genesis, Queen, DIO, Ratt, Kokus, Motley, Judas and here as well, the list goes on and on : )
@@Adam_StefaniakSaltea_Moonspell for real. I listened to my pops listen to these classics. Mainly Queen & Freddie Mercury.
@@N444BYL at some point in your life you may realize, that only consolidation and true lies with music you love. Stay safe brother!
To metalhead-to metalhead-From metalhead...This song has heart and soul...Something we can ALL appreciate! THIS is what makes music a masterpiece!
As a metalhead myself, I love this song!
What a song
The two phil's harmony is fantastic
Absolutely in tune !!
MAGIC
ENERGY-RELATED MANAGE
While largely forgotten by today’s era, this is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve heard from the 80s or any decade! Philip Bailey and Phil Collins sound so good together! It’s an awesome piece of music!
Best comment here.
There is a live version which seems to have been removed from all internet (it’s the audio from a concert that was used for the 1985 MTV video). The best version of this song. I’ve had it in mp3 format since 2000-2001.
kikii
I agree this is an awesome song but I wouldn't say it's even close to the most beautiful from the 80s. Guess it depends what you consider beautiful but I think the moody blues has all bands beat on beautiful meaningful music and lyrics from 60s all way to the 90s. Symphonic legends
What are you talking about? This song is still popular today.
What a Beautiful era .. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I feel so fortunate to have been an 80s teenager. When I listen to music from this decade, I become so overwhelmed with nostalgia. There are some songs that can take you back to a particular moment in time and this song is definitely one of them.
Philip Bailey and Phil Collins are MUSICAL GENIUSES!!!!! I LOOOOVE their music. I have all EWF, Genesis, and their solo albums in my collection. I absolutely LOOOOOVE Easy Lover and 1984 was such a spectacular year. AWESOME TEENAGE MEMORIES❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Music queen. 1984 17 year old 1 the my favorites song. In puerto rico. 1980s the best
I was born in 1988, so of course i don't have any memories from the 80's, but surely listened to them a lot in the 90's, and music made in 80's and 90's are my favorites as an adult.
My dad was also a teen in the 80s and HATED that era of music lmao, I can't understand why because its amazing
I totally understand
This really was a masterpiece. I’d prefer this over most songs that are popular today. Truly a bygone era we will never get back.
Yes, they surely don't make them like this one anymore...
Ohhhh fuck. It's a great song. But there are truly amazing songs being produced these days. Watch the tiny desk concert series. Sheesh.
I’m 21 and I couldn’t agree more
Lol!!
I was a Lonely Man during this Golden Era.
But this Song Got Me Laid.
It Was Delicious!!
You said it. No possible doubt about the last sentence
A Masterpiece. They don’t make songs and videos like this. I really miss the 80’s.
This is one of the best songs ever made!
No decade will ever top the 80's!!!
The 80's had the best music for sure🎶👍
Absolutely! Nothing will compare to the music of the 80's!
no it won't best decade for entertainment 🔥🔥
I stay with the 70’s.
@@scottkemper104 nothing at all!
I think that's what I love the most about this song and video. They just look like alive and happy.
Phil Collins is in my opinion one of the best musicians ever. Great drummer and singer! Great song!
Definately one of the best musiacian in the world :)
I think he has some good songs, but not too familiar with them.
Colin Banerjee Earth , Wind , and Fire? Uhh
@@colinbanerjee1069 Check out the band Genesis, post Peter Gabriel of course. To be sure you've heard his song In the Air Tonight... it's probably his most well-known and loved songs.
He is not a great drummer. He's a legendary drummer.
it was the first song that i ever liked. my dad introduced me when i was around 6 years old, and phil collins was the first musician that i truly appreciate. he introduced me to the magic of music back then.
so thanks dad, thanks phil.
I can’t get enough of this!!! Both legends!!
Still rocks after all these years 😊
