ok, quick story. so one time i was walking to my bus stop, and i have to cross a road to get there. i was distracted listening to this absolute gem of a song and then there was a car coming right before i was about to cross the road. then all of a sudden i hear this: 4:11 Daryl Hall yelling "WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT" and i look up and see the car and instantly stop. This song potentially saved my life.
@Gavin Knight So much great music. When bands had to pay their dues in clubs, parties, anywhere they could get a gig... and trying to get noticed. It made them better musicians I think.

Funny this is that they had their first big hits in the mid-70s, followed by a few misses on Along the Red Ledge and X-Static, which only scored a couple of minor hits. However, starting in 1980, they struck gold and had five number one hits in just 4 years, a phenomenal run.
"Maneater"- one of the biggest hits from the famous 80s era band Hall and Oates (named after the vocalists Daryll Hall and John Oates)- took an inspiration from the early 80s era popular TV soap Manimal where a human being turns into a panther

😅 It was a unique time. I graduated in 1980. And the Sunday before Mt. St. Helen's made an ash out of herself. By far the greatest music, movies and memories. I got married in 1988. I just lost the love of my life 4 years ago during COVID19 😢.
I just love the mood and beat of the song and how all the instruments blend so tightly, they make this song - the sax, drums, bass, guitar and synth. The 80s were was such a perfect storm for music - the sound, voices, songwriting etc - and Hall and Oates were a big reason why. Superb group and songwriters.
I think 80s musics have a charm to touch most souls. Doesn't really matter how old you are ... Must let your kids listen to 'em guys ... they will know when they heard the others recent craps ... 😂

Hello Daryl Hall and John Oates! You came to my city Sao Paulo, Brazil for the first time and I was there in the concert! It was amazing, I loved very much! Thank you for coming! I love you! God bless you!
This song is played when my school bell rings. So many students complain, 'cause it's not the song they wanted, but I personally love this song's intro🤩❤

She'll only come out at nights
The lean and hungry type
Nothing is new
I've seen her here before
Watching and waiting
Ooh, she's sittin' with you
But her eyes are on the door
So many have paid to see
What you think
You're gettin' for free
The woman is wild
A she-cat tamed
By the purr of a Jaguar
Money's the matter
If you're in it for love
You ain't gonna get too far
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Watch out boy
She'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
She's a maneater
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Watch out boy
She'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
She's a maneater
I wouldn't if I were you
I know what she can do
She's deadly man
And she could really rip your world apart
Mind over matter
Ooh, the beauty is there
But a beast is in the heart
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Watch out boy
She'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
She's a maneater

Watch out boy
She'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
She's a maneater
[Instrumental Interlude]
Ooooooooh
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Here she comes
Watch out boy
She'll chew you up
(Whoa-oh, here she comes
(Watch out) she's a maneater
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
(She's a maneater)
Ooh, she'll chew you up
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Here she comes, she's a maneater
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
(Watch out)
She'll only come out at night, ooh-oh
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
Here she comes
She's a maneater
(Oh-oh, here she comes)
(She's a maneater)
The woman is wild, whoooa

Here she comes
Watch out boy, watch out boy

Oh, watch out, watch out
Watch out, watch out

Real music, I imagine how those people lived their time. It must have been something wonderful to hear that newly created song.

The saxophone solo made the whole song what it is!💪🏾
An 80s special. Love the sax!
Sax was very appreciated in pop music at the time.

ok, quick story.
so one time i was walking to my bus stop, and i have to cross a road to get there. i was distracted listening to this absolute gem of a song and then there was a car coming right before i was about to cross the road. then all of a sudden i hear this: 4:11 Daryl Hall yelling "WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT, WATCH OUT" and i look up and see the car and instantly stop. This song potentially saved my life.
Oh shoot
That's just what Daryl does, you know?
BRO, I EXPERIENCE THAT SAME SCENARIO EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!
Daryl is always watching you
Noooo not the car accident, well there's Covid as alternative

@Gavin Knight So much great music. When bands had to pay their dues in clubs, parties, anywhere they could get a gig... and trying to get noticed. It made them better musicians I think.

I was a single mom, kind of tough time alone working hard and lonely at times, this song always lifted me up, I would dance like crazy with my sweet baby and we had good times together, my baby and I, my lovely boy is still with me and we care for one another like good old times ❤️🔥🎷🔥

Legendary. The way he looks to the side to say maneater is genius.
I'd be honored if some fans of classic 80s anthems would take a listen to my acoustic piano & vocal performances of EYE OF THE TIGER by Survivor, PURPLE RAIN by Prince, and AGAINST ALL ODDS by Phil Collins on my YT channel in tribute to the era of legendary power ballads. Live acoustic with no autotune. Thanks and peace.

First time I remember hearing this one was in 1982…42yrs later and it’s still a great song! Merry Christmas and God Bless!
I refuse to believe that Daryl Hall and John Oates we’re real. They’re literally human embodiments of the 80’s
Funny this is that they had their first big hits in the mid-70s, followed by a few misses on Along the Red Ledge and X-Static, which only scored a couple of minor hits. However, starting in 1980, they struck gold and had five number one hits in just 4 years, a phenomenal run.
53 and still losing my mind over this and their other hits. 80s!
57 here, this never gets old😊
56 here and still enjoying like the first time i heard it back in the 80s!
"Maneater"- one of the biggest hits from the famous 80s era band Hall and Oates (named after the vocalists Daryll Hall and John Oates)- took an inspiration from the early 80s era popular TV soap Manimal where a human being turns into a panther
16 years old, in 1982...
I remember this fondly on the radio. A classic H&O melody, timeless too 😊❤❤
I was the same age in 1982. A true classic. Just remember this, "You never know what you have until it's gone FOREVER."

@@darylhall. I saw many Hall&Oates shows. Once in Atlanta, advance ticket sales didn't go well. They sold buy one get one free the day of the show. The first part of the show was about 1 1/2 hours. They came back on stage and announced they were going to play more. They did another hour for what they called thier "real" fans. I wonder if you remember that?
It was the best show I ever saw them do.
Thanks guys...you are iconic!
@@darylhall. My favorite album was Abandoned Luncheonette which I believe was produced by Todd Rungren. It was thier second album they released. I still have the vinyl copy from 1973. Las Vegas Turnaround was my favorite because my wife was a flight attendant nd flew Las Vegas Turnarounds from Atlanta.
"She's's gone", also on that album, and she's gone now but I play it often remembering her. Thanks for the memories!!

The advice you'd give to Jellal when Erza's on heat be like:
😅 It was a unique time. I graduated in 1980. And the Sunday before Mt. St. Helen's made an ash out of herself. By far the greatest music, movies and memories. I got married in 1988. I just lost the love of my life 4 years ago during COVID19 😢.
I just love the mood and beat of the song and how all the instruments blend so tightly, they make this song - the sax, drums, bass, guitar and synth. The 80s were was such a perfect storm for music - the sound, voices, songwriting etc - and Hall and Oates were a big reason why. Superb group and songwriters.
True!!!!
Perfect song for wiping out the wrong men who don't belong

Well effing said. My husband taught me the drums. I'm hearing it like crazy....I love it. In my bose stereo cooking on one playing 80's kutts.
