I took my 4 year old son camping years ago and had just enough battery on my phone to listen to one song. This was the one we listened to. This song will always remind me of him and that time we had together. As a father I have many dreams that my son will help make the world a better place and that someday he'll know of the love I have for him.
I have a homevideo of my dad singing this to me when I was a baby. Now we go to Clapton concerts together any chance we get and drink his good whiskey while listening to all the blues music we both love, when I visit him. He is my best friend. This touched my ❤️
Oh he'll know the minute he has a child, or becomes a Father in any way, my Son's sitting right behind me on his phone :) he's 28 and I have this one memory at Laguna Beach when he was maybe 6 and we were building little dams in the river coming down to the beach. Something I loved as a boy too - anyway I wish sometimes I could have do over of that day - it's still one of the best days of my life then, and reminds me, - Dad's Mom's and everyone - stop being in a hurry to move on to the next thing, be present where you are, you won't remember the last time you drop you kid off your shoulder. So pay attention to all the time you have - AMEN
As a piano player, this piano improv is not appreciated enough. Flawless mimicry and imagination playing off of Clapton’s solo. That kind of command combined with the spontaneous creativity is rare to hear these days.
That's Chuck Leavel. Extremely well known and unbelievably skilled. When the Stones tour he becomes part of the band. During one song on Unplugged he has an incredible solo. Just amazing. So much so Eric calls him out after the second song. “Chuck Leavel” “Chuck Leavel”. Check his Wiki.
Mine, too. This was the first CD I ever owned. Got it for a penny from the BMG mail order record company. I learned how to drive with it in my dad's humongous Lincoln Town car at 1:00 AM, during the summer and fall of '92. I'm glad Dad was a sound sleeper, and also that he never found out...
It certainly was and still is 😎 If my memory serves correct ... Eric Clapton did probably the first MTV Unplugged concert ( that I can remember seeing, I had heard about them and was waiting and anticipation) and it was fantastic ... I even called in sick from work after it came on so that I could finish watching it 😎😎 I bought the CD of it still have it somewhere to this day. Thank you Eric for one hell of a fine performance ☺😎
Epic album. What a musician to go through what he was. Yes. Music history. I was 13 and my dad had a heart attack. I still can not hear tears in heaven. 28 years later. It was on in the lobby of the hospital.
Im calling bullshit on that pal. Aint no way a hospital is playing tears in heaven in the lobby. No way they would be that insensitive. SHAME ON YOU for fishing for likes with your half baked bullshit tearjerker story.
There's so much.. emotion, compassion coming out of Eric in this performance. If you allow yourself to feel all of it, it's overwhelming. Simply overwhelming.
I wish this concert set, all the instruments were left on stage for next generations can come and see one of the biggest music history that happened here.
29 years old and hearing this performance brings me back to long drives with my father. I can still picture the lakes and trees sitting in the back seat.
Still The Bomb MR Clapton,All The Way From Auckland New Zealand 275 Rep 2020 & Still Listening To Your MEAN Music,Thank You For The Good Years Of Your Blast Of A Style Of Your Music.
Omygoodness me and my husband of 30yrs. have had the pleasure of seeing and hearing this Guitar 🎸King 7 times! I wish we could've taken our 22yr. old daughter and our 40yr old son! They both play! My daughter stopped at around 10! Don't know why! My stepson can play anything and has Stevie Ray Vaughns style!! They both taught themselves as did my husband! . All 3 just picked one up & played! They amaze me! I'm not musically inclined at all! And my singing is horrific 😆 needless to say I quietly listen when they play! I couldn't sing anyway I'm in awe of my lil group! I wish my daughter would start back 😞 love 💘 you EC 💘
I had my Dad record this for me the day it debuted on MTV and still have it somewhere, it is Classic! Love you Dad, I know he knew Clapton from being in Vietnam with 18 and 19 year old kids, but then again, maybe not. Too busy keeping them alive.
Best album ever! My dad and I used to jam out with it on the cd player in the basement, guitars, bass, kazoos until mom told us it was time to go to bed! YeeHa!
Really one of the greatest single performances of any musician I can think of. I'm not saying he's the best or it's the best or opening up some debate. This is just an absolutely stand out show and he played and sang his ass off. There aren't many better live recordings of a musician in their prime
The only way to listen to this is full blast! I will listen to it over and over but each time I’ll focus on a certain instrument like the drums, the next time the piano, the next time only vocals and it’s so good all around! This whole unplugged has always been my favorite! Even named my daughter Layla after his song.
Getting there in around 10 years this song will sound great... Im joking ive been inspired by Eric for 60 years ...What an amazing guitarist& man ..Love & peace Slowhand
I'm sure someone else noticed this, but it's interesting to wonder why this take didn't make it on to the record. He plays great on this one too. One thing I noticed was right around 2:08 if you listen you can hear him accidentally "clack" his slide against the body of the guitar of towards the top of the neck. Lol. I wonder if that's what made the decision.
Running on faith One, two, three, four Lately I've been running on faith What else can a poor boy do? But my world will be right When love comes over me Lately I've been talking in my sleep Can't imagine what I'd have to say Except my world will be right When love comes back your way I've always been One to take each and every day Seems like by now I'd find a love who'd care, care just for me And we go running on faith All of our dreams will come true And our world will be right When love comes over me and you Ooh, I've always been One to take each and every day Seems like by now I'd find a love who cares just for me Then we'd go running on faith All of our dreams would come true And our world will be right When love comes over me and you Yes, it would When love comes over you Love comes over you Love comes over you (love comes over you) All of our dreams will come true (love comes over you) Love comes over you (love comes over you) All of our dreams will come true (love comes over you) When love, when love comes over you (love comes over you) And all of our dreams will come true (love comes over you) Love comes over you (love comes over you) Love comes over you (love comes over you) Love comes over you (love comes over you) Love comes over you (love comes over you)
Stephen, It's a70s Dobro Regale made by Randy Wood. Eric ordered it from him & the guitar was finished in 1970. The same one you see & hear on the two slide songs he does off the unplugged set.
I took my 4 year old son camping years ago and had just enough battery on my phone to listen to one song. This was the one we listened to. Im 31, listening this song since 6 years old when Dad sat down, took a glass and looked at me saying boy, check it out!
Same here bud.
Same buddy.
we dont hear from eric Clapton so much anymore now like we did in the early 90s decade
There's so much.. emotion, compassion coming out of Eric in this performance. If you allow yourself to feel all of it, it's overwhelming. Simply overwhelming.
so agree
I wish this concert set, all the instruments were left on stage for next generations can come and see one of the biggest music history that happened here.
33 years ago to this day, still sounds good Mr, Clapton
This was our wedding song. Coming up on 20 years.
the solo of this version is something else, he absolutely nailed it on the slide.
This is literally the only album I would play at my grandmother’s house that she wouldn’t complain about. She would actually sing along.
Some of the songs on this album predate your gramma
Best Unplugged Album!!
"Try and see it my way..."
Absolutely!
One of my favorite songs of all time….
29 years old and hearing this performance brings me back to long drives with my father. I can still picture the lakes and trees sitting in the back seat.

I worked at Roots on Robson St in Vancouver BC around 1994. Eric Clapton unplugged was one of the CDs on regular rotation. Brings back memories.

Чудесные были времена. Чудесная музыка. Спасибо, мистер Клэптон, блюзмен на все времена...
Great song!
AIC and Nirvana were epic unplugged, but man Clapton is in a league of his own no doubt

Man this is just one of those songs
OMG that resonater was the perfect touch😮

30 years later and I remember watching this on unplugged. Loved it then and love it now. Talent in the raw!!
1995년도 쯤에 카세트 테입으로 수천번들었던 노래입니다..내가정말 좋아하는 곡입니다
One of Eric Clapton's biggest influences is Muddy Waters, you can hear that clearly through his music :) love this song!
So brilliant
excellent!
❤brilliant piece of music🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Who writes songs like this anymore 😔
I had my Dad record this for me the day it debuted on MTV and still have it somewhere, it is Classic! Love you Dad, I know he knew Clapton from being in Vietnam with 18 and 19 year old kids, but then again, maybe not. Too busy keeping them alive.

Valeu Clapton! Música incrível. Que caia o amor sobre todos nós 🙌❤✨
Muero de amor por este hombre.
Me too!!
My Grandfather played a Gibson Dobro, & a Epiphone, 1949, and could play a harmica at the same time, i was raised on Bluegrass

My favorite song. Just go directly to the central nervesystem....
During my teenage I had only one dream: to play guita like Eric Clapton.
Genius lasts over time
The fact that a white boy playing a slide guitar backed by a full band is able to reach in, and make you feel something, deserves a like. 🎶🎤🎸😥👍
What a stupid racist thing to say.
Nothing beats the sound of a killer Dobro jammer, Rock on.
❤❤❤Eric

More like a song. " its a prayer "
A son of England.
Life by the drop by SRV AND Clapton together brings out the tears.
Ray Cooper on percussion what a great performer
Been trying to figure out how to tell my loved ones to play this at my funeral without making me think I'm gonna do something stupid.
Running on faith
One, two, three, four
Lately I've been running on faith
What else can a poor boy do?
But my world will be right
When love comes over me
Lately I've been talking in my sleep
Can't imagine what I'd have to say
Except my world will be right
When love comes back your way
I've always been
One to take each and every day
Seems like by now
I'd find a love who'd care, care just for me
And we go running on faith
All of our dreams will come true
And our world will be right
When love comes over me and you
Ooh, I've always been
One to take each and every day
Seems like by now
I'd find a love who cares just for me
Then we'd go running on faith
All of our dreams would come true
And our world will be right
When love comes over me and you
Yes, it would
When love comes over you
Love comes over you
Love comes over you (love comes over you)
All of our dreams will come true (love comes over you)
Love comes over you (love comes over you)
All of our dreams will come true (love comes over you)
When love, when love comes over you (love comes over you)
And all of our dreams will come true (love comes over you)
Love comes over you (love comes over you)
Love comes over you (love comes over you)
Love comes over you (love comes over you)
Love comes over you (love comes over you)
Very great ✅ Bravissimi ✅
Eu preciso desse show completo. Como eu consigo? Onde?

This is Take 1 version
eric clapton 's unplugged brings him more money than any other album
t.A ❤ feliz día
video quality: 0 - music quality 100! masterpiece by Eric.
GOD,GOD,GOD I BELIEVED IN GOD❤NO MORE IT EAD AND IS WAS ,IS FOR ME HORROR
What good is love when everyone is dead. Love never showed.
I unplugged the power cord on my stereo system to hear how Eric Clapton sounded unplugged. Didn't disturb the neighbours.
Wonder what the story of that guitar is
Stephen, It's a70s Dobro Regale made by Randy Wood. Eric ordered it from him & the guitar was finished in 1970. The same one you see & hear on the two slide songs he does off the unplugged set.
นึกถึงวันที่ฉันย่ำเดิน….😂
The background vocal scheme us htaking it to amother level
Alas, what MTV could have been.....
