I think ( just my opinion ) the expressions each artist brings is there own flavor that makes them “ them “ because when it comes to technical & skill playing , the same has been said bout sooo many others Clapton , Santana , Hendrix , Steve Vi , the two Joe’s Bonamassa and Satriani Etc - so to say the best in the world would be for You - again just my opinion - cheers
How. In Heaven’s name. Can anyone say. That this man. This consummate musician. This artist. Is. In any way. Overrated? How? His emotional depth. His generosity of spirit. Everything. A gift to me. For which I am deeply grateful.
@@SwapnenduKar Thats exactly right However playing super fast or technical does not make you a great guitar player. All that is does is make the music sound technical rather than having soul and feeling the way Eric plays. I have played for over 50 years now and personally I think Eric is far better than the super fast players.
I think this is the best version of old love. I mean i get goosebumps every time I click on this video. Those feelings are insane, I feel it in my whole body when Eric starts singing.
My favorite song of his, the passion & emotion. And a reminder that we all have that "one' we cannot get over, & the "one" we compare those that come after to - better still the "one" that will make us forget the past The guitar is an extension of his soul, a voice
Just really too good I'm sitting in my front porch with my Bluetooth speaker cranking out Eric Clapton and it don't get no better than this. 🇺🇲🦅🎸🎙️🎼🎶🦅🇺🇲
Never will there ever be another Clapton. He's the very greatest guitar player. Derek Trucks is another brilliant guitarists. His guitar playing is instrumental in the making of music come to life. I love these guitar players and Mark Knopfler. Awesome
@DonnaWestbrook-dz 1hp, Derek is phenomenal, and I love when he was sitting next to JJ Cale and Eric Clapton (Anyway The Wind Blows) and he was playing, and watching everything they did. 😊❤
this would have to be my favourite single song live performance i've seen of eric clapton, the composition, the execution, the band, the soul, will never fail to take me to the greatest heights of inspiration whenever i watch and listen to it. Magic!!!
Amazing, as many times as I have heard him play this song live and just about the time I think Iv'e heard it all before, Clapton slaps's me right in the smacker and proves me wrong. Another performance for the books. The thing that separates Eric from most guitarist. is that he can not only play like the devil but he can also write great songs...IMO ....and I know there are many other famous guitarist that can write and play but not many. Being able to play great and write great songs is what separates the famous from the not so famous...(at least in my opinion )...
Just found this, can't stop enjoying in repeat mode. Great quality recording. Clapton unmatched, but Tim Carmon's keyboard solo is the icing on the cake😋... so creative, innovative, awesome. Thanks for sharing!
There's something really crazy about how many amazing guitar players come from UK in the 60s and 70s... Clapton, beck, Gilmour. Harrison , Brian May, Blackmore , page ... I can keep increasing this list going on for long time.
Such amazing depth and breadth of emotion. He looks like he is in pain playing and singing. Enticing for sure. How could you resist someone with so much love on display?
@ericclaptonofficials Thank you so much! I am very well WHEN I listen to E.Clapton's very nice song/music what/which I love(!) since1969!!! I am very glad if I can hear those! They are in my ,,soul,,! 👌🙋😍
While this is a beautiful version of Eric's great song, adding David Sanborn playing his saxophone takes the entire performance to a level of One Million. May God start grooving to David and his perfect sax along with the Jazz Angels playing backup. We love you Mr. Sanborn, you left us way too early. Thanks Eric for the usual brilliance of this superb song.
I don’t think anyone will ever be ever to play like him either. They’ll steal some licks, try to immolate his phrasing, his style. But..,.you’re right - they’ll never be Clapton.

He is "god", lower case "g". The man has been a living Legend since he was 16 years old. Only person inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame THREE TIMES. And a Lifetime Achievement Award, which, quite frankly, was back in 2006, and if we're being honest, he's added so much more to his portfolio of work, not just musically, but his work and efforts with his Crossroads Tours to benefit his Recovery Center in Antigua, it's been almost 20 years, I honestly think he deserves another Lifetime Achievement Award, or some form of Public recognition, not that he would want it. He's been struggling with his "fame status" since his Cream days.. But what this man has accomplished, not just for himself, but what he's done with his success and fame in regards to helping others is by no means a "small" accomplishment. He's an absolute Icon, more than just legendary. Been listening to him since the late 60s, first saw him in '78 for his SlowHand Tour, haven't missed a Show anytime he's been in the NY area since. Even met him briefly just strolling in a sidewalk in NY City. Spent 10 minutes of his day talking to me, a total stranger, just because I said "Mr Clapton, I'm a huge fan, I have tickets for 4 of your shows this time around (it was his 90-91 tour). He said "My Mates call me Eric", and we had a really cool little chat for a bit. Saw him the next nite, front row in The Garden, he remembered, and tossed my GF and I a few Pics to go with the Autograph he signed for me on the sidewalk. I just dig the hell outta his playing, it's just incredible ✌️

His guitar tone is always so pure and melodic... never forced... that's why they call him SLOW HAND.
Actually, it was because he was slow to give a hand helping move the Yardbird’s kit.
Amen brother
Actually I read he got the nickname for re stringing his guitar so slowly lol. Who knows
He could play so fast it was like looking at a bicycle wheel . When a bike wheel is spinning fast, it appears to go slow in reverse
He is a gift to all of us.
Sure is hope I get to see him play one day🤞🏽
Eric Clapton is one of the best blues_rock guitarist in the world.
