Venezuela 1993. This CD was my Christmas present from my girlfriend. As a Latino 16yo guy who loves Latin music was a weird present at the moment, but she gave me a kiss and said "trust me", nothing more I'll be forever grateful. I still have the CD
hes a family friend of some of my grandparents and their brothers, sisters, and cousins. Went to a church here in tuscaloosa with them when they were younger. said hes a absolutely great guy!
Such a sad but great song . reminds me of my wife. Who passed away 5yearsago . haven't been alble to move on this song says it all. Miss you Tonya. And love you. Always . forever
@@lesheath6216 That was an unplanned extra encore, Clapton said he asked Chuck what they should play, and Chuck suggested playing Old Love. What a combo.
@@joeallbright3245 He's a legend. I've seen Clapton many time since this gig. His pianists are always great but Chuck was by far the best he's ever had
If I was only allowed to hear one section of music before I died it would undoubtably be Chuck Leavell's piano solo from this recording. One of the most incredible things composed in our time without question.
I bought this on cassette tape when it was brand new at Walmart in 92 with my allowance when I was 11 years old and it started my love affair with the blues. (42 now) I've had some of these songs and guitar licks in my head for over 30 years. What a great album
Graduated highschool and left the most passionate boyfriend EVER behind. Spent the summer miserable and missing him and blasted this song no short of 3 times/day. Epic feelings
A planetwide treasure. The man is so good, he cuts right through ones soul and can make an old many cry in about a half minute. One 7 min song more effective than months of talk therapy. What would the music world be without Clapton? I shudder to think.
The solo is an epitome of taste and finesse. Bluesy with Classical subtleties. Slowhand playing with enough speed to elevate the song. Clapton is also an underrated rhythm player. Lastly, Chuck Leavel is a gem
The resolve at the end of the solo is the best of all time. Been listening to it over and over since I was 9. Im 41 now and adore this set. My mums friend went to school with Eric, and managed to get him to sign a copy of his autobiography for my 30th birthday. My mum passed 6 years ago, and the book Is my most treasured possession
I'm good friends with Chuck. I work on his Plantation and this is one of my favorites as well. The stones just got off of the US tour. I don't know how many tours they got left in them.
One of my all time favorites as the subject to me is an old girlfriend lost to this life to pancreatic cancer. Clapton and Leavell are stellar. A true masterpiece. God bless my Annette.
I found this CD in my dearly beloved husband’s car when I most unfortunately had to clean it out 10 years ago after he passed away from a mercifully brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He actually beat cancer because he’s with the Lord now but I still miss that dear man terribly. He always said he was thankful God never tested him like he did Eric Clapton (about losing his son) and I felt like I got to understand my husband, who I knew very well, even after his passing by listening to this Unplugged album of Clayton’s and I was thankful for that.
This is the best song and guitar I ever heard. This song was playing in the background of my childhood video recordings when i was a baby. Ive listened to this version over thousands of times throughout my life and it still gives me goosebumps, and I still get so excited about these solo’s.
I remember listening to this for the first time when I was around 7 years old. Here I am at 35 listening to it again. Best acoustic guitar and piano solo ever, in my opinion
Avevo 25 anni all' epoca e ricordo perfettamente le emozioni che ho provato nell' ascoltare questo pezzo per la prima volta , a distanza di 32 anni provo le stesse emozioni ❤
Ok I was maybe 14 when I finally was able to watch this unplugged video and I spent the summer watching this on repeat to learn to play it. I was upset cause I didn't have a capo to be able to sing it in my range, so I literally broke my voice to sing at his key hahahahahahahaha Good memories! Fast forward about 15 years and I got golden circle tickets to watch him play in Melbourne. That was soo cool but wishing it was an intimate show now I am watching the Unplugged recording! Top 10 artists for me
This was their third encore the people just did not want them to stop and Eric had run out of everything he could think of so he looked back at Chuck and said Chuck what do we play. And Chuck just worked up a beautiful piano solo on this so he told Eric old love and this is what happened
Hoy es el cumpleaños de eric que lo pase super bien y para disfrutar de su musica un poquito esta cancion que me encanta viejo amor. Gracias por tu buena musica
In my opinion, this is the best solo ever done on an acoustic guitar.
I would have to agree myself.
I agree I can't find any better acoustic solo as good as Eric's here it's a masterpiece actually 👌
agreed
Agreed. I’ve just spent 6 weeks learning it!

Beautiful story thank you peace
Chuck Leavell shows why he's considered indispensable by the worlds greatest bands...a truly memorable and beautiful solo.
hes a family friend of some of my grandparents and their brothers, sisters, and cousins. Went to a church here in tuscaloosa with them when they were younger. said hes a absolutely great guy!
I could not agree more! He nailed that with soul and technical prowess that is as rare as it gets.
Totally agree.
He is an absolute master. Such a great solo
That solo is one of the greatest if not best ever on a piano in a modern music.
A hugely underrated vocalist.
Jajaja good one "Eric Clapton underrated vocalist" 🤣🤣🤣 just to be sure, you are kidding right?
You are hugely overrating a mediocre talent.
Not at all. Said whom? Geez...
tanto así que en los 60' decían Clapton es Dios
Chuck leavell killin it on the keys!🎹🔥
The Master
Such a sad but great song . reminds me of my wife. Who passed away 5yearsago . haven't been alble to move on this song says it all. Miss you Tonya. And love you. Always . forever
Bless you . hope you are OK
This hit me hard. Hope you’re doing well.
I just recently came across this song and that man on the piano has sent my lonely soul to heaven
Chuck Leavell, he also played with the Allman Brothers and Rolling Stones and his own band, C. Leavell

When you playing piano so good that Mr. Clapton is checking what you doing there 😂🙌

Chuck Leavell!

Only it wasn’t composed it was improvised!!!! Lol that makes it even better!
When did you die? Sorry to hear that.

Best mtv unplugged ever!!!!
the piano on this.....!!!!!! awesome
Chuck Leavell, I believe.
Yeah, Chuck!
Chack and Eric = blues
best version of his old loves
You can't get a better guitar and piano solo anywhere on earth. Not possible.
Chuck being Chuck! Perfection with a smile!
I also believe this is the best acoustic guitar solo. However, the timing of the audiences' cheers is what makes it truely special.
This solo is very hard to play! So Clapton did a perfect job with this beautifull solo ;)
and he managed to end the solo on time as well. great performance
thats eric clapton for you
That's why his fans call him god. The man is posessed with talent - he was born with it, and is an international treasure.
Unplugged.... my mom and I chilling track......Miss you Mom.
God this NEVER gets old!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Never!

Eric Clapton has to be the undisputed god of unplugged acoustic guitar play. I love his unplugged versions of Old Love, Layla and Tears In Heaven.
Aside from the genius of this song and the masterful performance, Clapton is so hot here
Thank God for music!
Wow, I love that during the guitar solo you can hear Clapton humming a large part of it whilst he plays, even up to the high notes
Clapton's solo and then Chuck Leavell's are seriously a match made in heaven. What skills!
The piano work on this is amazing from beginning to end but especially the piano solo, Chuck Leavell is awesome!
The resolve at the end of the solo is the best of all time. Been listening to it over and over since I was 9. Im 41 now and adore this set. This song is such a Banger. I don’t know if it is just me but Eric Clapton his look here, Looks like the Professor from La Casa de Papel
Exceptional double-solo xx
Eric with Chuck Leavell and Nathan East is so damn good... I wish this live session was days long instead of hours.

Chuck Leavell absolutely KILLS on this song!
I had this album originally on Tape I wore it out, still got the cd luvit
Eric did a good job, butChuck on the piano made it most memorable and a classic.
Just look at how he sings the ''just an illusion" part. Exquisite.
Beautiful masterpiece
I would like to share, however, these bosses say. They can not handle a song like this. As Jesus Christ and God.
El mejor solo de guitarra acústica ever
