It was his golden age in a lot of ways. His electric stuff from the period is amazing too. From The Cradle is not far from this concert either. It's amazing what you can do when you get clean.
My thoughts exactly. Fantastic musician he is. If I could pick one guy to have his skills Its Slowhand.Haters saying anyone can play the blues aren't players or they wouldn't say that stupid shit. EC talent is undeniable
Some time ago, a colleague invited me and he put on Clapton unplugged. I recognized the album by the applause at the beginning before the first note rang out. Guess I really love that record.
Eric Clapton is a classic....Love this song...reminds me of my daughter that was killed in a car accident August 27, 2012....all you can do is rely on your faith and love.....
He is living proof of what happens when you don't die to soon!!! a Master of his craft and a hero for so many of us!!! Thank you for posting this, Well done
BTW Runing on faith is not his song, it was written by Jerry Lynn Williams as other Journeyman songs: Pretending, No Alibis, Anything for your love, and Breaking point.
Nothing like the sound of a resonator guitar. And in the hand of EC it really comes alive. He has the slides and the sound that comes from the Delta. Ue this is the instrument they often played. Thanks for this EC!
I saw Eric Clapton and Ray Cooper in Dallas back in the 80s. It was the benefit concert for Ronny Lane and it was one the greatest concerts if my life. So many great British musicians one that tour; Joe Cocker, Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Ray Cooper, etc. Minds were blown that night. Rock & Roll!

Not bad for an anglo Brit who has learned to perform in the blues tradition. I am thankful to him to give credit and bring to my awareness the Mississippi delta players who inspired him such as muddy Waters and the haunting late great Robert Johnson especially. Such a rich and soulful musical legacy is a great place to travel . I felt after reading his autobiography that It was easy to see the where, why ,and how he became such a good musician. It really can come down to talent ,temperament, timing ,and how you deal with holes in your bucket. I am glad that he has brought joy to so many fans. I am one, although sometimes reluctantly. Mixed.
For me this is the best video i've ever seen singing Running On Faith one of my fav.from the album Unplugged. I love Eric Clapton a lot..no words can describe..lovehimsomuch. 💝💝💝🎸ec
He is the man! Puzzles me as to why people insist on saying so and so is better or he's past it? He covers all genres with such grace and class, no one else comes close,a true master!
This has to be my favourite Clapton performance. The feel/quality of the vocal hit me first. There is a "Lennon" type feel to the song . Overall just fabulous.
Wow This is really really good...thanks for posting ...I have seen the original . Ever since I first heard heard Eric way back when I was just a young lad of about 12 - way over 50 years ago now....I knew in my music loving heart that I was hearing something special. Boy was I right or what. He is just a musical gift to us all.
Well, you did it right this time up. I see several others people also noticed: You make playing Slide Guitar look so Easy! Such a Loving, beautiful, Gospel like song. It's good to hear the feeling in you for this Song. God bless the boy who loved to play his guitar so much, that The Whole World now listens, and agrees. Eric Patrick Clapton Job Well done.
Listen to Clapton's singing on the Beano Album and then here in 1992; no other singer improved like he did, at least in the world of rock/pop. Like Lennon he didn't think his voice was any good, both of course had incredible voices...
I believe that it was Delaney Bramlett who broadened his outlook and encouraged EC to nurture and focus on his singing voice lest he lose its potential... and he has become a very, very fine Singer by itself..!
Yep. He is using G-tuning. G tuning is like this: - E down to D - A down to G - D wil stay at the same - As well as the fourth string will be as a G - And the fifth string will be as it is: a B - And the top string down to a D Summary: D-G-D-G-B-D
My dad played guitar double neck steel and he had an older single neck. I took him once to guitar show case in the bay area there happed to be quite a few people in the shop he had a crowd around him. He tuned an acoustic broke out a slide and had a crowd of musicians around him they said they had never seen anyone play like that it was years ago I grew up with it so I didnt think it was any big deal. LOL he allso told me back in the 1930's He was playing at a road side dance in string Town Oklahoma someone happend to see a car with automatic rifles in the back seat and called the local sheriff . It turned out to be Bonnie and clide they killed the sheriff's deputy. That is a true story. He was a character I onley wish I had learned more from him. The memories came back as I remembered Claptons song I shot the sheriff.
Running On Faith one of my fav. song by the album Unplugged..and this is my favorite video of Eric.. i always watch this video over and over again..love comes over you Eric.. luvuforevermhilet💖💖💖 🌹🌹🌹🌹🎸ec
Every time I listen to this album I think “damn I think the piano is the best part of this whole album”. And this is the album that inspired me to play the guitar. Let’s hear it for chuckie. Holy shit.
You know guys first time I heard Eric Clapton song cocain I thought he is a hard rock singer but when I hear his unplug song I change instantly my belief ,
Great performance. I was listening to the percussionist and MAN! He has that Tambourine MASTERED. Listen to his chick chick rhythm playing its TIGHT! Great band.
Eric Clapton.... one of the few greats.... but don't forget Mark Knopfler..... amazing... and my childhood classmate Stevie Ray Vaughn.... one of a very few.... the proverbial cream of the crop.
This was his golden period. This performance set the standard for every Unplugged episode that followed.
It was his golden age in a lot of ways. His electric stuff from the period is amazing too. From The Cradle is not far from this concert either. It's amazing what you can do when you get clean.
Un tournant dans sa carrière qui n'a fait que grandir!!! Mais où a t'il trouvé le courage et la force de survivre😢. Il faut une volonté d'acier....
@@jeancome8848 mais personne ne te comprend a part moi cher jean
Why in the hell does no one talk about his amazing vocals? His voice is just as effortless as his guitar playing.
beagleguitar unplugged is for me the best his vocals have ever been
I do....his voice resources aare unlimited...he sings as good as heaven
My thoughts exactly. Fantastic musician he is. If I could pick one guy to have his skills Its Slowhand.Haters saying anyone can play the blues aren't players or they wouldn't say that stupid shit. EC talent is undeniable
Eric alwAys hated his. Voice.Delaney told him use it or lose it.
There's a Raised on Radio interview, someone talks about Eric's voice being the thing that shone in this performance. But yeah, I totally agree!!
I've been a fan of Clapton since the mid-60s and I consider his Unplugged album his magnum opus.
Not even close too, unplugged Clapton is unbeatable
24 nights is his prime..
"Unplugged" was one of the best music TV shows ever and by far the best thing to come out of MTV.
Some time ago, a colleague invited me and he put on Clapton unplugged. I recognized the album by the applause at the beginning before the first note rang out. Guess I really love that record.
"I love Eric Clapton so much, words cannot describe it"

I feel that too
Me too!x
Oh yes I totally agree 💖❤

So sorry for your loss. I hope that this song provides encouragement to carry on. My heart ❤️ is with you,

The background singers are beautiful amazing voices, so polished
One of the best songs from that set. This one always gave me chills.
Walking on blues is amazing. A man, his voice, his guitar, his tapping shoe, and thats it. Yet, it's as powerful as when the entire band is playing.
He is living proof of what happens when you don't die to soon!!! a Master of his craft and a hero for so many of us!!! Thank you for posting this, Well done
God Love you.
Hit the nail on the head.
One of the greatest musical performances ever!!
Clapton is the man. He has been an inspiration to many many. Absolutely love this guy like a brother!
Claptons original songs are so underrated, this is such an amazing one on a list of many.
he was ranked second on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 greatest guitarists))) Pretty rated
BTW Runing on faith is not his song, it was written by Jerry Lynn Williams as other Journeyman songs: Pretending, No Alibis, Anything for your love, and Breaking point.
Another silly ignorant minion using a term you're utterly clueless about: "underrated"....then 38 subhumans following you into deeper ignorance.

There are musicians and then there's Eric Clapton, enough said.
Ray Cooper caressing that tambourine as if it was made by Jesus himself. Bless Ray's bald spherical head.
BWAHAHA you made my night i couldnt have said it better
Great to see Ray get some love .. he is an Artist ..
Yeah, ol Ray made more money in this 8 some minutes than you and I combined lifetime. He better shake it with love and respect.

His voice is amazing. He sings with so much feeling. Love to listen to him over and over.
This is when we still had musicians performing
Whoever (recording engineer) mixed this did a helluva job. Such a great sonic vibe that serves the all the songs so well.
His name is Jimbo Barton from Australia. Great bloke.🎧

I never get tired of hearing and watching this.
Clapton's a true musician. How can he sing exactly the same way as the later takes but play different versions on the guitar?
That's why he's Eric Clapton and he's the best that I've ever heard in my 66 years of life.😃💙🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Best Mtv unplugged ever. I think every musician in the world aspires to play a concert like this (at least once in the lifteme)
