As for me: The current Furina we have might be the second Alter-ego of the original Furina and this Original conscious of Furina might be on the Oratrice and her second self left behind on their body. The second Furina might lost her memories as aftermath of her separation of the original persona of Forçalor and that's why the Furina we have now have no power with out her original Alter-ego. It's highly likely that Neuvilette will either physically or spirituallly take Furina's place as the sovereign of Fontaine once Focalors' plan to push back the sea comes to fruition. Maybe Furina's consciousness was split into 2 (or 3) and while one of them is the silly brat we know of, the other is the godly consiousness. The Oratrice's condemnation of Childe is likely from his connection to the Abyssal Whale which is also connected to the Primordial Sea. Neuvilette regaining his former power may not draw Celestia's ire, at least not in the immediate future, as for one: Neuvilette is in a human form and most of the other Dragon Sovereign's have already been subdued. Likely Celestia will ignore Neuvilette as long as he maintains this form and continues to not purposefully try to incite rebellion, which he likely has no interest in anyways due to his desire to understand humanity more. And a more likely reason why his return to form won't draw Celestia's attention, is something Nahida mentions at the end of the Archon Quest: The Heavenly Principles have been completely silent since the Khaenri'ah Disaster 500 years ago. Whether it's because they overexerted themselves in the Cataclysm and have fallen into hibernation, or because Phanes/Primordial One has left Teyvat temporarily (based on Traveler's bio), regardless the Heavenly Principles are inactive as of right now, and won't be until either the Tsaritsa begins her rebellion or the Abyss Order does. So until then, their eyes won't be noticing what is happening with Neuvilette, especially since he won't be doing anything like destroying the Hydro Gnosis.
That is a fair point depending on how Celestia actually monitors things. The gnoses alone could just look like active servers to them, so the identity of who has it isn’t disclosed. I also find it very possible that Childe’s guilty sentence was related to his abyssal connections, but I am a bit surprised nobody came to that conclusion when seeing him begin to transform. To add to this, I think her superstar persona and the emphasis on drama in all trials is an intentional maneuver to get people interested in the trials and generate more indemnitium. Indemnitium is probably the energy that's going to be used to stop the cataclysm A very nice indication that this is intentional on Furina's part is in the demo for Neuvillette, where she tells him that the trial was too short so there wasn't enough drama. Neuvillette then AGREES with her, and talks about the upcoming cataclysm So they're probably in it together to save the nation in this way, via trials and the oratrice

Heavenly principles won't taking any action, in their opinions archon loses their gnosis poses no threat against them whatsoever. I think the archon losing their gnosis is simply part of bigger plan orchestrated by morax and the surviving archon of the khaenriah war. It's a ruse to fool the heavenly principles, even the harbingers says that collecting gnosis have nothing to do with heavenly principles. The real plan here is that the archon need to collect all seven gnosis to fight back against the heavenly principles but doing simply that would raise the sustainer suspicions. In order to cover their intentions , they gonna need 3rd parties intervention aka the traveler to redirect heavenly principles attention(The reason why I said it's morax plan was bcuz when the first time we arrive at liyue, morax suddenly dies,furthermore Zhongli said he wanna quit as liyue archon after the traveler arrival, coincidence?) this however just my theory

Based on all the other female Archons it seems like Furina is fitting the pattern so she'll have some personality upgrade in 4.2 but is and will remain the Archon, while losing the gnosis to the Fatui. As for the gnosis being in the Oratrice the problem is that Arlecchino and the kids already checked out the Oratrice and then moved on to the fortress of Meropide. It feels like they already evaluated that the Oratrice isn't where the gnosis is, just as they ruled out Furina having it. While I admit it feels like we'll see some more of the Oratrice and it's "voice", I don't think they'll say the gnosis is with the Oratrice.

This is pretty much the same conclusion I came to. She split herself in some way. And whatever the plan is, it's being engaged by both of herselves. But that's also why she's not privy to 100% of the information or willing to disclose it. Edit: I think giving the Gnosis to neuvillette will be brought up but Furina will say she can't because she doesn't want Fontaine to get nailed.
This is my speculation of what will happen in Fontaine so maybe spoilers ahead. Personally I don't think Furina will stop being an Archon. First of all if we look at Pneuma and Ousia in their Greek terms, Pneuma means Spirit and Ousia means Matter or even Being in some cases. Since we know that Furina is the only character in all of Fontaine that can control both Pneuma and Ousia it's really possible that she has split her self into two, meaning that her Ousia is the Furina we've known up until 4.1 and her Pneuma is inside the Oatrice with the gnosis leading to her lack of intelligence up until this point. I also believe that if Neuvillette didn't trust Furina he could have easily defeated her, taking back his authority as the true Hydro ruler of Teyvat and he would have solved the problem with the prophecy easily. So if someone saves Fontaine it will be Furina, probably with the help of Neuvillette and the Traveler. I feel like the Oatrice doesn't play a major role in the story other than protecting the Gnosis and the consiousness of Focalors inside of it. It's main function is to be a battery of some sort in order to keep the gnosis powered up and helping Furina deal with the Primordial Sea. I don't feel like it'll do anything else other than giving a massive energy boost. Except if it will help Neuvillette become as powerful as the old hydro dragon which I highly doubt it. I feel like someone must be controlling the Primordial Sea. Everything happened right after the Traveler visited Fontaine. Childe didn't suddenly start having dreams, then decide to visit Fontaine and get dragged into this as a coincidence since he has no connection to Fontaine whatsover. I think that another Harbringer is pulling the strings behind the scenes. Arlecchino looks really friendly towards the Traveler (for now at least) and she wants only the gnosis for the Fatui, meaning that she would never hurt Fontaine (she even spared Furina's life when she was defenseless). But on the other hand some speculate that the other Harbringers don't really like her so it might be a plot to take her and Fontaine out of the picture. In conclusion to my speculation. We still haven't seen the real Furina and her potential, the MC will "fight" (maybe not) another Harbringer and not Arlecchino, we still haven't learnt what exactly is the Primordial Sea but Furina might tell us and lastly it's probably cliche but Arlecchino will steal the gnosis even though I would like Furina to keep it for a change.
You have an interesting take on this. But I doubt that Mihoyo would introduce another Harbinger at 4.2. We always get a Harbinger fight as the weekly boss at the end of the First Archon Quest of a new nation. So if Mihoyo will break this pattern, that would definitely be unexpected.
@@nalskipper7447 the only thing that’s sure is that in 4.2 we’ll get the first weekly boss. It’s possible that the boss will be a Fatui just like Liyue’s Tartaglia and Inazuma’s La Signora. But I don’t think Arlecchino will be a boss. Only time will tell but at the moment I don’t see her as an enemy. Maybe after we solve the problem with the Primordial Sea we will battle her.

Instead of Folscalors splitting her conciousness what if it's a similar case to Rukhadevta where she was the Avatar of Irminsul, what if Furina is the Avatar of the Oritrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinale but unlike Rukhadevta Furina could be an Avatar in body only as she clearly lacks the mind and power of an Archon. Another theory i have come across is that just like the Raiden twins for Inazuma the Fontaine Archons are a trio (Egeria, Furina and whoever is inside the Oritrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinale) because there are three throned in the Capellia Capelleus Arena. Furina Act's as the Face for the actual Archon who's inside the Oritrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinale and the voice of the Fountain of Lucin. Another thing that confused me is that tho lyney said he heard a voice that seemed to know him, Arlacheno says that Lyney was contaminated with power that's being stored in the core which would mean that Lyney was hillusanating when he heard a voice
For me Furina was divided into several parts having several "I" in fontaine that is why she does not have that knowledge that nuivellette mentions, being more similar pneoma, osia and the other one that is formed when they come together (which I think is the same that uses the court machine), Furina would be equally divided into 3 without the third being her true "I" since it would be the union of the other 2 that only has part of her knowledge, the ones we have seen have been the 2 who are not aware of the third. There are many details that tell me that Furina knows more than she appears, such as what she managed to receive us, if ignorance appears when she tells us that it was she who created the court machine, her lack of presence as an archon, or not having the gnosis for some reason.
My own theory is that the Oratrice is gathering power, not for Furina/Focslors to stop the prophecy, but either to power up Neuvillette or use it to return Neuvillette's full power from the gnosis. As the dragon sovereign of water he may have the power to stop the primordial sea.
From the moment egeria passed and left her the warning, could it be possible she created the oratrice instead of ascending as the archon and started saving indemitium as backup fail safe, and as a way to prevent her Ascension but at the same time still pretend she did become the archon???
My conclusion is kind of similar to yours but my thinking process is a bit different. I lean more toward the curse Arlecchino mentioned. Her soul and body (pneuma/ousia) got separated and the Furina we know is the body, and no need to explain where is the other half (soul) I guess... That would explain the consciousness and the voice, and why Furina from the past seem so different from Furina from the present Why the body can move you ask ? We know that Nahida is the youngest of the 7, meaning Furina was around before the cataclysm. I think she was already chosen to succeeded Egeria in case something were to happened to her.. Focalor crying in the fountain for how long her torture will continue. My guess is that hydro archon installed herself as a battery and generator of indemnidium inside the oratrice condeming herself to 500 years of loneliness and isolation. As fo Furina... she is either a stand in or just a fraction of the original persona left to play out the role of a present god.
It's almost 100% chance that the fatui WILL get the gnosis at the end of the arc. So likely it wont be needed, the indentium will get it done and furina will just hand it over to arlechinno maybe in exchange for her help, and I do think arlechinno is going to be key in helping stop the prophecy. But I believe as you say that part of focalors is within the orotrice. The curse could well be something laid upon furina's body so that she cant spoil the plan, the curse is a knowledge block so she simply cant access the memories of the plan. And maybe for another reason that something that maybe WANTS the prophecy to succeed can read minds.
I just want to mention 1 detail inside the Hydro ascension material gem - Varunada Lazurite. The quote in it is supposedly by each archon, in this case the hydro archon. In the quote she specified that "My ideals have no stains. I must correct you. People here bear no sins in the eyes of the gods... Only laws and the Tribunal can judge someone. They can judge even me. So praise my magnificence and purity." the last line gives more weight to your theory because by making the "godly" part of her an impartial scale, she achieved a sense of objectivity in Justice, being able to use that independent part of herself to judge "even herself".
My theory is as follows : Furina and the Oratrice were initially the same person. Foçalors separated her consciousness, and made the Oratrice to host the Gnosis, and the God part of her being. In the meantime, Furina's normal personality can enjoy her life as a celebrity. The belief in the Oratrice means belief in the Archon, thus, it creates Indemnitium. Foçalors' goal is to use that Indemnitium to prevent the prophecy from coming true, it's just that Furina doesn't know about it, because their consciousnesses are now separated. That's also why Furina can't tell that the Oratrice is the true Hydro Archon. I believe that after fighting the Weekly Boss (which I highly suspect to be the Whale), the conclusion would be that the Hydro Archon would lose her Archonhood (coming from the absence of the Vision on Furina's drip marketing background), and put Neuvillette in charge, while Furina pretends to still be the Hydro Archon
Maybe Neuvillitte probably know where the gnosis is hidden. Maybe the OG archon and Neuvillitte promise to never reveal the gnosis' location until the prophecy has been averted. I hope in 4.4 patch well get to see Furina's intention and the truth on why Oratrice Mecanique D'analyse Cardinale was built and its purpose.
There is a ton of theory regarding Furina/Focalor. My take on this whole debacle is : What is Furina/Focalor is Archon/Archon tier being that is regressing/losing power. Similarly to Gouba. My theory is that 400 Years ago, Furina/Focalor WAS a genius, and WAS the wisest. Everyone in Fontaine was happy and even ecstatic to have Furina/Focalor as an Archon. (Except the Oceanids) Then Furina/Focalor found the prophecy and decide to stop it. So she recruits Neuvillette and build the Justice Machine to stop the prophecy. Working non-stop to look for a way to harnest the power collected to stop the prophecy Furina/Focalor becomes lonely and slowly sheds the wisdom and intelligence she used to embody. 400 years may be short for an archon like Venti / Zhong Li / Nahida / Raiden. But for Humans thats like 10 generations. So everyone knows Focalor/Furina is an Archon, but everyone is confused why would this Archon has fallen to become so childish. In the final act i presume either traveler/childe/Neuvillette would somehow uncover old Furina/Focalor plan to stop the prophecy, and use the power stored in the justice machine to stop the prophecy forever. In the end, Furina/Focalor will not regain her old wisdom and intelligence. But perhaps will be able to learn new ones, and also don't be as lonely. They say the Smarter someone is the more lonely they are. So maybe thats why?

I had a theory... what if the oratrice makes the decision based on what the people of Fontaine want and believe the verdict to be. If it takes the Fontainian's belief in justice to exist and create indemnitium the people viewing the trial is essentially the jury. Whichever side makes the best argument will often sway the crowd, as the truth often does. But what if the majority of the people dont actually believe that is true. The only time we know that it has given a different verdict is with Childe. So either the oratrice made that decision on its own for some reason that only it knows, or people in the crowd still think Childe did it, after all many people have the mindset that since he was a Fatus he must be guilty. So it used the peoples belief of his guilt to base its decision.
I don't think so. I think it makes more sense for Oratrice to follow Neuvillette decision except for Childe case. If you watch Neuvillette story quest, we know that Oratrice give guilty verdict toward Vautrin even though the public think Vautrin is innocence.

But quite honestly its actions dont make sense. The only thing i can think of is that they are trying to stop the prophecy, but doing so alone so that no one else can intervene? The more thinks about it the more sense it makes but also start making even less sense. Theres still that one little thing we are missing, but we dont know what that even is.

Before fontaine was out i had a theory of what the storyline was going to be: the real hydro archon was murdered or got ridden of and replaced by someone to take the archon’s place and pretend to be the archon (which is furina) and it was our job as traveler to seek justice and find who got rid of the archon.
Her godly conscious was lonely bc she had been in the oratrice for centuries and haven’t talked to anyone for so long which is why she said “so..lonely…”
Your theory does seem to make sense. I honestly don't get the part where Arlecchino tries to assassinate Furina, but Furina reacted like a normal scared little girl with no power (but we know that Archons are not human as far as lore goes). Assuming she really split her conscious into the Oratrice, it shouldn't completely make her harmless like that. She also seem scared or afraid of any physical confrontation. However, I don't think Furina is human girl trying to pretend to be an Archon either. "Cursed" feels appropriate by what Arlecchino said. Afterall, Egeria was the previous Focalors and we already know that Archon title and maybe powers can be transfer to a current Archon. Anyway, there are gameplay footage of Furina, so I assume she can fight. Maybe she'll get her powers back in 4.2?
I don't think Celestia will take action just because Neuvillette take gnosis. I mean so far Celestia do nothing in the story. I hope Celestia is not that petty toward dragon sovereign. Their was has ended long time ago and Neuvillette is just the reincarnation not the same old ancient dragon sovereign of war whose fight against Primordial One.

The possibility of Neuvilette gaining back his strength is very low. If he gains it back, it would mean the Gnoses will lose its power, making it just a decorative. That would mean Snezhnaya's plan to collect all Gnoses will just fail, and I doubt Mihoyo would go that route. There's also the route of Neuvilette taking power from the Gnoses and then returns it back, but that seems kinda stupid.

@@iamsyncx they did nothing when they were creating a god in sumeru, why would they do something in fontaine? And there is a theory about paimon being a seele sent by celestia to guide the traveler to fix issues in teyvat. It is likely WE work for celestia without knowing it.

Based on all the other female Archons it seems like Furina is fitting the pattern so she'll have some personality upgrade in 4.2 but is and will remain the Archon, while losing the gnosis to the Fatui.
As for the gnosis being in the Oratrice the problem is that Arlecchino and the kids already checked out the Oratrice and then moved on to the fortress of Meropide. It feels like they already evaluated that the Oratrice isn't where the gnosis is, just as they ruled out Furina having it. While I admit it feels like we'll see some more of the Oratrice and it's "voice", I don't think they'll say the gnosis is with the Oratrice.
I don't think they already check out the Oratrice. They only said Lyne get exposed to large amount of indemnitium just being close to Oratrice.

This is pretty much the same conclusion I came to. She split herself in some way. And whatever the plan is, it's being engaged by both of herselves. But that's also why she's not privy to 100% of the information or willing to disclose it.
Edit: I think giving the Gnosis to neuvillette will be brought up but Furina will say she can't because she doesn't want Fontaine to get nailed.
This is my speculation of what will happen in Fontaine so maybe spoilers ahead.
Personally I don't think Furina will stop being an Archon. First of all if we look at Pneuma and Ousia in their Greek terms, Pneuma means Spirit and Ousia means Matter or even Being in some cases. Since we know that Furina is the only character in all of Fontaine that can control both Pneuma and Ousia it's really possible that she has split her self into two, meaning that her Ousia is the Furina we've known up until 4.1 and her Pneuma is inside the Oatrice with the gnosis leading to her lack of intelligence up until this point. I also believe that if Neuvillette didn't trust Furina he could have easily defeated her, taking back his authority as the true Hydro ruler of Teyvat and he would have solved the problem with the prophecy easily. So if someone saves Fontaine it will be Furina, probably with the help of Neuvillette and the Traveler.
I feel like the Oatrice doesn't play a major role in the story other than protecting the Gnosis and the consiousness of Focalors inside of it. It's main function is to be a battery of some sort in order to keep the gnosis powered up and helping Furina deal with the Primordial Sea. I don't feel like it'll do anything else other than giving a massive energy boost. Except if it will help Neuvillette become as powerful as the old hydro dragon which I highly doubt it.
I feel like someone must be controlling the Primordial Sea. Everything happened right after the Traveler visited Fontaine. Childe didn't suddenly start having dreams, then decide to visit Fontaine and get dragged into this as a coincidence since he has no connection to Fontaine whatsover. I think that another Harbringer is pulling the strings behind the scenes. Arlecchino looks really friendly towards the Traveler (for now at least) and she wants only the gnosis for the Fatui, meaning that she would never hurt Fontaine (she even spared Furina's life when she was defenseless). But on the other hand some speculate that the other Harbringers don't really like her so it might be a plot to take her and Fontaine out of the picture.
In conclusion to my speculation. We still haven't seen the real Furina and her potential, the MC will "fight" (maybe not) another Harbringer and not Arlecchino, we still haven't learnt what exactly is the Primordial Sea but Furina might tell us and lastly it's probably cliche but Arlecchino will steal the gnosis even though I would like Furina to keep it for a change.

But I doubt that Mihoyo would introduce another Harbinger at 4.2. We always get a Harbinger fight as the weekly boss at the end of the First Archon Quest of a new nation. So if Mihoyo will break this pattern, that would definitely be unexpected.
@@nalskipper7447 the only thing that’s sure is that in 4.2 we’ll get the first weekly boss. It’s possible that the boss will be a Fatui just like Liyue’s Tartaglia and Inazuma’s La Signora. But I don’t think Arlecchino will be a boss. Only time will tell but at the moment I don’t see her as an enemy. Maybe after we solve the problem with the Primordial Sea we will battle her.
same I am kinda tired of fatui taking all the gnosis like nothing, venti didn’t fought, ei who can one hit signora didn’t care about it (it would be cool to see ei in battle to protect it), zhongly did a contract, nahida gave two away, I am hoping furina and neuvillete would manage to keep it for a change, if not pyro archon is the last hope

in nahida's story quest, we learned that memories could be transformed into power or energy, maybe furina need to use those memories as energy
Instead of Folscalors splitting her conciousness what if it's a similar case to Rukhadevta where she was the Avatar of Irminsul, what if Furina is the Avatar of the Oritrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinale but unlike Rukhadevta Furina could be an Avatar in body only as she clearly lacks the mind and power of an Archon.
Another theory i have come across is that just like the Raiden twins for Inazuma the Fontaine Archons are a trio (Egeria, Furina and whoever is inside the Oritrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinale) because there are three throned in the Capellia Capelleus Arena. Furina Act's as the Face for the actual Archon who's inside the Oritrice Mechanic Denalise Cardinale and the voice of the Fountain of Lucin.
Another thing that confused me is that tho lyney said he heard a voice that seemed to know him, Arlacheno says that Lyney was contaminated with power that's being stored in the core which would mean that Lyney was hillusanating when he heard a voice
For me Furina was divided into several parts having several "I" in fontaine that is why she does not have that knowledge that nuivellette mentions, being more similar pneoma, osia and the other one that is formed when they come together (which I think is the same that uses the court machine), Furina would be equally divided into 3 without the third being her true "I" since it would be the union of the other 2 that only has part of her knowledge, the ones we have seen have been the 2 who are not aware of the third.
There are many details that tell me that Furina knows more than she appears, such as what she managed to receive us, if ignorance appears when she tells us that it was she who created the court machine, her lack of presence as an archon, or not having the gnosis for some reason.
My own theory is that the Oratrice is gathering power, not for Furina/Focslors to stop the prophecy, but either to power up Neuvillette or use it to return Neuvillette's full power from the gnosis. As the dragon sovereign of water he may have the power to stop the primordial sea.
From the moment egeria passed and left her the warning, could it be possible she created the oratrice instead of ascending as the archon and started saving indemitium as backup fail safe, and as a way to prevent her Ascension but at the same time still pretend she did become the archon???
My conclusion is kind of similar to yours but my thinking process is a bit different.
I lean more toward the curse Arlecchino mentioned. Her soul and body (pneuma/ousia) got separated and the Furina we know is the body, and no need to explain where is the other half (soul) I guess...
That would explain the consciousness and the voice, and why Furina from the past seem so different from Furina from the present

We know that Nahida is the youngest of the 7, meaning Furina was around before the cataclysm. I think she was already chosen to succeeded Egeria in case something were to happened to her..

Focalor crying in the fountain for how long her torture will continue. My guess is that hydro archon installed herself as a battery and generator of indemnidium inside the oratrice condeming herself to 500 years of loneliness and isolation. As fo Furina... she is either a stand in or just a fraction of the original persona left to play out the role of a present god.
It's almost 100% chance that the fatui WILL get the gnosis at the end of the arc. So likely it wont be needed, the indentium will get it done and furina will just hand it over to arlechinno maybe in exchange for her help, and I do think arlechinno is going to be key in helping stop the prophecy. But I believe as you say that part of focalors is within the orotrice. The curse could well be something laid upon furina's body so that she cant spoil the plan, the curse is a knowledge block so she simply cant access the memories of the plan. And maybe for another reason that something that maybe WANTS the prophecy to succeed can read minds.
I just want to mention 1 detail inside the Hydro ascension material gem - Varunada Lazurite.
The quote in it is supposedly by each archon, in this case the hydro archon.
In the quote she specified that
"My ideals have no stains.
I must correct you. People here bear no sins in the eyes of the gods... Only laws and the Tribunal can judge someone.
They can judge even me. So praise my magnificence and purity."
the last line gives more weight to your theory because by making the "godly" part of her an impartial scale, she achieved a sense of objectivity in Justice, being able to use that independent part of herself to judge "even herself".

My theory is as follows :
Furina and the Oratrice were initially the same person. Foçalors separated her consciousness, and made the Oratrice to host the Gnosis, and the God part of her being. In the meantime, Furina's normal personality can enjoy her life as a celebrity. The belief in the Oratrice means belief in the Archon, thus, it creates Indemnitium. Foçalors' goal is to use that Indemnitium to prevent the prophecy from coming true, it's just that Furina doesn't know about it, because their consciousnesses are now separated. That's also why Furina can't tell that the Oratrice is the true Hydro Archon. I believe that after fighting the Weekly Boss (which I highly suspect to be the Whale), the conclusion would be that the Hydro Archon would lose her Archonhood (coming from the absence of the Vision on Furina's drip marketing background), and put Neuvillette in charge, while Furina pretends to still be the Hydro Archon
I was pretty sure since the Lyney's roundabout that the oratrice is like a part of the heart and complete powers of Focalors.
Maybe Neuvillitte probably know where the gnosis is hidden. Maybe the OG archon and Neuvillitte promise to never reveal the gnosis' location until the prophecy has been averted. I hope in 4.4 patch well get to see Furina's intention and the truth on why Oratrice Mecanique D'analyse Cardinale was built and its purpose.
There is a ton of theory regarding Furina/Focalor. My take on this whole debacle is :
What is Furina/Focalor is Archon/Archon tier being that is regressing/losing power. Similarly to Gouba.
My theory is that 400 Years ago, Furina/Focalor WAS a genius, and WAS the wisest. Everyone in Fontaine was happy and even ecstatic to have Furina/Focalor as an Archon. (Except the Oceanids)
Then Furina/Focalor found the prophecy and decide to stop it. So she recruits Neuvillette and build the Justice Machine to stop the prophecy.
Working non-stop to look for a way to harnest the power collected to stop the prophecy Furina/Focalor becomes lonely and slowly sheds the wisdom and intelligence she used to embody.
400 years may be short for an archon like Venti / Zhong Li / Nahida / Raiden. But for Humans thats like 10 generations. So everyone knows Focalor/Furina is an Archon, but everyone is confused why would this Archon has fallen to become so childish.
In the final act i presume either traveler/childe/Neuvillette would somehow uncover old Furina/Focalor plan to stop the prophecy, and use the power stored in the justice machine to stop the prophecy forever.
In the end, Furina/Focalor will not regain her old wisdom and intelligence. But perhaps will be able to learn new ones, and also don't be as lonely.
They say the Smarter someone is the more lonely they are. So maybe thats why?

I had a theory... what if the oratrice makes the decision based on what the people of Fontaine want and believe the verdict to be. If it takes the Fontainian's belief in justice to exist and create indemnitium the people viewing the trial is essentially the jury. Whichever side makes the best argument will often sway the crowd, as the truth often does. But what if the majority of the people dont actually believe that is true. The only time we know that it has given a different verdict is with Childe. So either the oratrice made that decision on its own for some reason that only it knows, or people in the crowd still think Childe did it, after all many people have the mindset that since he was a Fatus he must be guilty. So it used the peoples belief of his guilt to base its decision.
I don't think so. I think it makes more sense for Oratrice to follow Neuvillette decision except for Childe case. If you watch Neuvillette story quest, we know that Oratrice give guilty verdict toward Vautrin even though the public think Vautrin is innocence.

But quite honestly its actions dont make sense. The only thing i can think of is that they are trying to stop the prophecy, but doing so alone so that no one else can intervene? The more thinks about it the more sense it makes but also start making even less sense. Theres still that one little thing we are missing, but we dont know what that even is.

Before fontaine was out i had a theory of what the storyline was going to be: the real hydro archon was murdered or got ridden of and replaced by someone to take the archon’s place and pretend to be the archon (which is furina) and it was our job as traveler to seek justice and find who got rid of the archon.

Your theory does seem to make sense. I honestly don't get the part where Arlecchino tries to assassinate Furina, but Furina reacted like a normal scared little girl with no power (but we know that Archons are not human as far as lore goes). Assuming she really split her conscious into the Oratrice, it shouldn't completely make her harmless like that. She also seem scared or afraid of any physical confrontation. However, I don't think Furina is human girl trying to pretend to be an Archon either. "Cursed" feels appropriate by what Arlecchino said. Afterall, Egeria was the previous Focalors and we already know that Archon title and maybe powers can be transfer to a current Archon. Anyway, there are gameplay footage of Furina, so I assume she can fight. Maybe she'll get her powers back in 4.2?

The possibility of Neuvilette gaining back his strength is very low. If he gains it back, it would mean the Gnoses will lose its power, making it just a decorative. That would mean Snezhnaya's plan to collect all Gnoses will just fail, and I doubt Mihoyo would go that route. There's also the route of Neuvilette taking power from the Gnoses and then returns it back, but that seems kinda stupid.

Neuvilette said the archon would have to have to return their authority and disappear, not destroy the gnosis. The dragons may also be able to use the gnosis if it was made with their original power.
