**NOTES** - Re: not showing blue under elemental sight thing --> there are three probable reasons for this. 1) It would be a MASSIVE spoiler if you accidentally used elemental sight and everyone was blue and that would destroy the twist. 2) Playable characters would always be infused with hydro which would be... problematic for many reasons. 3) It's possible that since this event should have happened hundreds of years ago that these eidolons have started to accumulate non-water materials... and maybe they've just inter-married with other humans from other regions in the most confusing biological bloodline I could imagine. Either way I don't think it should be taken as gospel that beings like eidolons always need to be elementally infused. It's like how trees are not green, but white.
4:37 not of all Teyvat just Fontain I don't know if it is stated otherwise elsewhere but it being an elevated nation inclines me to believe it is just all the waters of Fontain it's not that significant but if there is a different source I'd like to know
Actually point 3 is supported by the NPC we talk to early on in the Fontaine AQ, the guy sceptical of Lyney's efforts to prepare people for the prophecy. He believes in the alternative take that humans originated from the sea but developed blood vessels to hold the sea in order to live on land. This could very well be a foreshadowing of what happened with Fontainians, a myth based on Hydro Eidolons becoming humans over time.
So to answer your question about whether or not a hybrid between a hydro eidolon and a human would be immune to primordial waters, the answer would be yes because of how cells work. The new humans born between oceanids and humans would be more human.
i’m so impressed by how accurate this ended up being. you even say that furina’s divinity is within the oratrice, that she’s an actress in a never-ending play…. those are almost direct quotes from the archon quest!!!
yep when I was playing the quest I was like "omg the fontainian people being fucking water" theory was correct??? wtf!! I can't believe it was this accurate lmfao
I was even more astonished because someone days before the release told me that this theory was being crashed on twitter because it had no sense. And when the day came and this was so accurate I was speachless
@@chronohax7186 ohhh but i so wish she was. just a cool scene where furina think's she's safe and then she suddenly gets interrogated, somebody asking about the truth while slowly revealing they actually know it would that not be the most badass scene in the entire game
Taking this comment way to seriously but Ashikai (us the players) are basically like the traveller , a witness for Teyvat but also an all knowing god We see every perspective, hear the inner thoughts of characters and can read and find any information at all times While Neuvillette only has raw power, not knowledge per se + he is quite “young” and I don’t think he ever met a real archon besides “Furina” so that curse for him is an archon’s power radiating
I'm so terrified of how accurate Ashikai's theory comes THIS close to the truth that every time she releases new theory, I inclined and was so excited how Genshin's lore and Ashikai's theory will become true
I literally came back here just to chat about this. This theory was in my head almost the entire time the quest unfolded and I was in udder shock how accurate it came to be. Bravo, truly the best there is 🤯
I felt the exact same way-- came straight back here to see if anyone else thought so. If I hadn't seen this video beforehand, I wouldn't've had a clue. Instead, I was in awe watching it all unfold!
Same I came back here just for this, playing the quest only confirmed what I already had in my head because of this vid so it wasn’t rlly surprising but more validating😂
I like how ashikai portays the part at 22:20 about egeria creating humans being the sin as crazy rambling, but in the end it’s exactly how it turned out. Huge props for the accuracy of a lot of the theories
@@silverhawkscape2677ya, everything may not be completely accurate but it gets pretty close with just different wordings. Egeria was not the one with complete control, focalors was but it was still egerias plan to have focalors take over. Focalors is one of her oceanid familiars
I'm genuinely glad that's the only part where Ashikai got it wrong. I certainly hope from Fontaine now on, there will be no current archon secretly related to the past archon plot
The accuracy of this is absolutely incredible. Its astonishing there was enough to go on for you to literally spell out the entire archon story of fontaine a whole month before the final act was dropped.
Something I've found just a little odd since it was introduced was the practice of couples *specifically* asking the Hydro Archon for children but looking at that through the lens of the theory fontainians are all eidolons...
They’re asking for blessings, not the chance to have children. I doubt the oceanids themselves need permission, it said they needed SOMETHING from egeria in order to create new oceanids but that something is not explained.
Something I'd like to add is Furina's constellation, Animula Choragi. The literal translation is "conductor of little souls", and the original Chinese text means "organizer of odes". There isn't a lot to infer from this, but I did some digging and the word _choragi_ is Latin equivalent of the Greek word _choregos_ , which was a historical role in ancient Greece that was given to a wealthy financer to organize a public theatrical play, *appointed by the archon* . Before we proceed, a reminder: Genshin derives from myths, philosophies and histories of all around the world, and it's very likely that a *lot* of terms in Genshin were translated _to_ Chinese from whatever local language the term originated from, such as Archon (the Chinese version's Zhizeng literally being the Chinese word for the Greek archons). And the localizations refer to both the Chinese text and the "intended original" words when translating. So why do I think _choregos_ is the intended word? Because I looked through the constellation names in all four main languages and noticed that the Korean version's translation says "코레고스", which is _choregos_ written in Korean. As in not translated but transcripted. This is significant because this is one of the very few instances of the Korean name of a character's constellation not being a translation, and the only previous examples I remember are mythical animals like Manticore and Leviathan that don't have Korean names. And 코레고스 is NOT a word in everyday Korean. I would say it's a very plausible theory that the word _choregos_ was the originally chosen word and _Animula Choragi_ and 司颂 are translations to Latin and Chinese for the English and Chinese versions respectively. So. We have "financer of a public play appointed by the Archon" and "organizer of odes" and "conductor of little souls". Whatever Furina is doing, it's Egeria's master plan of some kind. Like can we also get attention to the added _animula_ part in the English version? As always, the localization team knows things beforehand so that also has to be a deliberate choice. So what little souls is Furina a conductor of? Why "little souls"? Maybe because she's organizing a play of Hydro Eidolons? Or shall we call it a Masquerade of the Guilty Hydro Eidolons? Also, whether or not all Fontainians are really Hydro Eidolons I definitely agree that Focalors has been split to Furina and the Oratrice because Nahida's description of Focalors applies to both Furina (enjoys the atmosphere) and the Oratrice (reserves the right to influence the final verdict) separately. Considering Nahida is the avatar of Irminsul and has never been outside the Sanctuary of Surasthana till the end of the Sumeru Archon Quest, she must have Irminsuled the information on Focalors and just reiterated the search results, which must have been about Furina and the Oratrice combined.
This "conducting" would also fit with one of the quests in the Bottleland. We had an Eidolon play that was put on by the Eidolons themselves, but "controlled" by a dude who wrote "code" for them. So, both Furina and the citizens would be playing roles in Egeria's grand plan.
When you mentioned the words derived from greek words, I already suspected that the ancient language from Enkanomiya, which is obviously greek, plays a role of the truth of Teyvat itself. And I’ve been already suspecting that Childe was playing a bigger role since his real name, Ajax, is a greek name itself like Teucer’s. Now what if his destiny was like the greek story itself but changed cuz of the Traveler?
I think it’s possible that Fontainians aren’t traditional Hydro Eidolons, but are special beings created by Egeria specifically from the Primordial Sea. They are humans and flesh and blood, but are “different” from the “original” humans. Basically Fonatinians are extra special eidolons that aren’t made of hydro and are creations of Egeria after the fall of Remuria Edit (post archon quest finale): Huh what do you know
That could also explain how Fontainians and non-Fontainians can have children.. if Fontainians have a human body but a Hydro "essence"... God why is this crackpot theory starting to make more and more sense ?
wait.... fontaine has: - scattered heptagrams across the area - circular city design - this theory of the primordial sea (one) is the origin of fontainians (all) and they could dissolve back into "one" are we... in fullmetal alchemist?
The biggest clue is in her twin tailed hair glowing, when the knave tries to assassinate furina you'll notice that the glow isn't there. The inconsistency of her glowing hair is everywhere in the archon quest.
There were similar theories back in 2.0 about Raiden's eye color changing but it didn't end up being relevant at all. It's probably gonna be the same here.

hello from "the future" Its incredible how "close" this was to the real story behind the scenes. The "visions" and "gnosis" ideas should soon change and be very close to the real thing
If the whale is an abyssally corrupted dragon-adjacent creature that is the embodiment of the primordial sea, then it makes sense why Neuvillette is the only one who can control it. My theory is that the purpose of the indemnitium/oratrice is to return Neuvillette's full authority as hydro sovereign, and only when he has that authority, he can wrestle control over the whale fully, and end the prophecy. Furina has to maintain the act because obviously Celestia doesn't want dragon sovereigns regaining their authority, particularly if it undermines their plans. I personally don't think that the prophecy was set up by Celestia, because Neuvillette apologises, seemingly genuinely, that he must override the judgement of the prophecy. It only makes sense for him to apologise IMO if the origin of the prophecy is draconic. Given that the original inhabitants of Teyvat were the dragons, and the primordial one stole their celestial authority and Teyvat as a whole, I think that the Primordial sea actually predates the primordial one, and was originally part of the domain of the dragons. So it makes sense that both the whale and the sea as a whole would answer chiefly to a hydro sovereign who has their full authority.
The game itself states that Sovereign Hydro is the heart of the Primordial Sea and that this primordial water was the origin of the entire race of Teyvat (including the Dragartos who exist long before Phanes). I don't understand why this part of the lore wasn't mentioned in the video, because this part practically confirms that the prophecy has more to do with dragons than Celestia, and after all, Neuvillette himself states that if he recovered the Hydro Authority he could end the prophecy.
Her theory is pretty good as always, but I think besides the loose ends she mentions at the end, the one that you mention about Neuvillette apologizing is a big one.Maybe the prophecy was set up by the former hydro sovereign himself and the whale could also be like a remnant of his power that was corrupted by the abyss maybe because of his resentment towards Fontaine, and maybe it was set on motion when the hydro sovereign was reincarnated as Neuvillette, so that's why she looked for him and brought him to Fontaine. There is also the fact that Neuvillette mentions in his trailer and his quest that he has missing memories which is kinda sus, maybe Egeria have something to do with it or maybe is the corruption in the whale that you mention that somehow affected his memories due to his connection with it
"Furina has to maintain the act because obviously Celestia doesn't want dragon sovereigns regaining their authority" If you return to the Travail trailer (we will always return to it, aparently), in the Fontaine part Dains says that "the god of justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, but even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine", and I think that both your afirmation and dains fit together perfectly. It's all an act created by Egaria so Neuvillette can regain his hydro autority and stops the primordial waters, however they can't let Celestia know it, so Furina pretends to be the one in charge as the new archon.
What confuses me about this theory is the aftermath. I don't know how Furina and Neuvillette would create this plan when eventually Neuvillette will regain his powers and thus, making it impossible for Celestia to not know about it afterwards. Unless you think this will lead the a big change in the story to where Celestia goes to war with Neuvillette and probably Fontaine as a whole because of this, I don't see how this plan won't alert Celestia at some point. It seems incredibly short-sight of them, not to mention Neuvillette states that he rather not retake his Authority if possible, so at most it sounds like a plan z type of deal. I am in agreement for now that the Primordial Sea is an aspect of the Old World/The Light Realm rather than Celestia (at least mainly cause perhaps it's one of the many things that Celestia decided to steal and take control of for themselves like Elemental Authority). I'm not confident in the rest of the theory though or that I don't think Ashikai's theories don't have merit.
Lmao and now twitter stans who mocked her theories as too much are radio silent, they deserve that i guess, but some of them are actually hating on navia and ofc traveler in this patch lmao💀
The biggest flaw in this theory is that in the summer event it was stated that eidolons or oceanids that take human shape all have blue eyes and blue hair, as we see now with the girl in the current poetry event. Speaking of which, we learned from her that it takes energy to maintain human form. It isn't long lasting. If the people of Fontaine were eidolons they likely would have lost their human shape long ago due to the energy consumption. It's far more likely that there's something else that's special about Fontainians.
When we drank the primordial water they said we felt more attuned to the hydro element. The reason I guess for fontanians being dissolved is that they are already naturally attuned to hydro so they end up becoming hydro itself. As for why the Primordial water does that probably has something to do with the whale (they did tease it at the end of 4.1 AQ) Also if they really were eidolons and get dissolved then Furina would get dissolved as well so that can't be true since the prophecy states she would be the only one left.
Yes and even then, they would not stay in human form after death either. I do think Fontainians are humans made from primordial water tho, as that would explain why they can be dissolved and turn into Oceanids. There's definitely a connection between them and the sea. I also don't think Egeria made the Oratrice, since it was apparently made around 400 years ago when she was already dead. Furina's seeming immunity to primordial water makes it unlikely for her to be an Oceanid, as well as her name not being from an actual Oceanid like all the others and her appearance being so different (and that would also be redundant after two events with similar reveal imo).
@@RihoramaTbh, I don’t think that Neuvillette apologizing towards Celestia is that far fetch if people view the line more as a plea and not a sincere apology. Look at it this way. Neuvi is the Hydro Sovereign reborned, freely walking in Teyvat… And Celestia is doing nothing about it (on the surface at least)? Lol Would certainly make more sense if Neuvi is able to live his life as long as he does nothing to threaten Celestia’s rule. So if the Primordial Sea pressuring upwards in the prison is the results of Celestia’s doing, then Neuvi’s line can easily be read as “Look, I know I’m suppose to not overstep, but please don’t do anything rash. This ruling is too harsh.” Now, am I SAYING that it is Celestia controlling the sea? Not necessarily, cause the only thing we do know for certain is that the sea existed even before the Primordial One’s ruling (aka, a product of the Old World), so we can only speculate who can control the sea. With that said, Celestia stole the Elemental Authorities from the Sovereigns. Not really a wild concept then that Celestia thus have control of elements from the Old World and refashioned it to fit their purposes. But I can also see it being the act of the Abyss, I do not know how exactly when it was “supposedly” Celestia that gain control of powers and the landscape of the Old World, other than a gut feeling mainly since I still suspect that Celestia and the Abyss have a more symbiotic relationship than it first appears (if the parallels to Imaginary and Quanta actually holds significance for Genshin). tl;dr I suspect you’re not suppose to take Neuvi’s line about forgiveness quite literally.
@@TheGeekyRedMageI think they meant The primordial sea not the primordial one, or rather the whale in the primordial sea. It’s pretty clear in Neuvillette’s voice lines he’s not a fan of the primordial one.
What doesn't convince me about the idea that Fontaine people are eidolons is that they seem to have physical bodies. And I'm not talking about the elemental sight thing, but that every description of what happens to the people dissolved in primordial waters seems to be something along the lines of separating the consciousness from the body, while for oceanids (and I assume eidolons too) their body IS their consciousness. Also, how do eidolons just... live normal human lives? In the sense that they have the same lifespan as a normal human? How do they die? How do they reproduce? Though it's not above hoyoverse to leave such plot holes up in the air, so I don't think this serves as an argument against the theory lol
One thing that catched my attention since 4.0 on one fo the notes found on the philosophy institute (the same note that says egeria cried the tear that gave birth to the first oceanid) is that it mentions that for oceanids to give birth they basically need to ask the hydro archon for them to "divide" or procreate, and during ACT 1 on the AQs we are specifically shown that the people of fontaine go to the fountain of lucine (a place were all the water merges into) to ask for a blessing of the hydro archon whenever they want kids, soo... I speculated since then that fontaine people might all be hydro eidolons so when I saw that and made the connection with that scene I was like "oh, that makes sense"
Also in the current event, the poetry one... we saw that the Fontaine girl callirhoe is actually and eidolon AND an ocenid, AND the fairy of springvale. She used to listen to the wishes and dreams of all springvale people, yet we had one guy "old finch" who got more attached to her after he talked his heart out and vice versa. That got me confused for a bit as to why she left then, but then I also noticed that she could've left because she knew she doesn't have enough power to be a human and act like a human. But since now she understands that emotions matter more than kid making, she gave him a "heart" made out of pure water to be with old finch, that'll let him meet her in her dreams So what I could gather from the event here, is that... Callirhoe ran away from springvale in fear of not being able to understand Finch (and probably knowing she can't be like a human) and went around the world learning about different emotions. When she came to understand such emotions, she came to terms that "she can't be like human, but ahe can give her heart in exchange " out of love for a human
If the hydro eidolons created in Bottleland are Idyia's creations, and they're as simple as we see, I think it stands to reason that Egeria, the presumed queen of the Oceanids, the strongest one, would be able to make eidolons that are much, much, much more complex, practically human for all intents and purposes. Unable to change shape anymore, functionally human in every respect, just different on a molecular level.
Now I’m wondering if Hydro Archon crying on her throne in the prophecy can be interpreted a different way. As in, maybe everyone in Fontaine does dissolve and Furina, after reuniting the parts of herself, cries to bring them back, just as Egeria did in the past.
Didn't watch this video until now cause I know you're always on point, and it looks like I was right. After coming back to this video post Archon quest it's mindboggling how accurate this is. Ashikai, you're a genius!
31:08 I think Egeria didn’t give him the Gnosis back then because he simply couldn’t “resonate” or understand human emotions that well yet. So, perhaps when he empathizes and sees the worth of “human” life he’ll be able to save them. Maybe way back then Neuvillette or the former Hydro Sovereign just hated humans for what they stood and Egeria wasn’t completely sure they’d save them lol. i’m just gonna wait for the Archon quest to see what happens
Very valid point. Maybe the Indemnitium is the compensation Egeria prepared for Neuvilette when he's ready and for him to use it to force back the primordial sea into Abyss (because i don't think it will be that easy to destroy an entire ocean of such potent water)
Also, there is one thing I'd really like to note. *(Spoilers for the current Windborne Poetry event)* When Callirhoe's human transformation is undone in the final act, she does not return to oceanid form, instead she becomes a Hydro Eidolon. Only once she is in proximity to her own spring, she assumes an oceanid form, which was visibly much more taxing on her. This, to me, indicates that Hydro Eidolons can be classified into two types: 1. Weakened forms of Oceanids (the power of water is it's ability to take any shape after all), or 2. Shards created by Oceanids that have the power to become Oceanids themselves eventually. I'm not that good of a theorist, but this is what came to mind after the event.
Another addition to your theory: In the description of one of the tainted Hydro Phantasms, it states that Oceanids can also be naturally born from pure waters, so when the waters of Fontaine got "corrupted", Oceanids can no longer be born from pure waters and the tainted Eidolons began to exist. I'm leaning more towards the latter that Eidolons are fragments that can become Oceanids
Ashi: Hey, kid. You like Fonta? +Well, yeah. Ashi: Did you know water ghosts taking the form of dead people are manufacturing it? +Please, release my arm.
Didn't the primordial water exist before the primordial one arrived? Like Neuvillette said that all life was created and nurtured by it, which is why he is suprised that it is harmful for the people from Fontaine. Or something like that. It was when we talked to him at the end of Act 2 I believe. I also believe that Childe somehow awakened the Whale when he fell into the abyss which caused the primordial water to appear again/go active (outside of Meropide?) and was then found and used by Marcel, which is was made him guilty in the eyes of the Oratrice. I agree that Furina somehow split apart. I first thought about that possibility after I finished Narzissenkreuz Quest with Mary-Ann and Ann and thought that something similar may have happened with Furina. That Furina is the one we see and Focalors is in the Oratrice.
I'd imagine that the Primordial One coming to Teyvat was like a person stepping on a boat that they just finished making, except in the middle of that step all the micro bacteria suddenly evolve and form their own civilization and have their own histories.
@@TheLegalPlayer Hm... that's true, Marcel started years ago. But it's strange because Childe tells us in Act 1 that Skirk told him he had awakened "it," and that traces of "it" remained on him so I assumed he awakened the whale which then started the prophecy by making the primordial water slowly become active. Maybe it was just the primordial water inside Meropide and the little bit Marcel found exists outside of the prophecy and has always been where he found it. Oh! The Narzissenkreuz people experimented with primordial water, right? Maybe what Marcel found where leftovers from them.
When you mentioned Furina's role in the court system, that she has the responsibility of drawing interest and intrigue towards the legal proceedings - and really the oratrice - it reminded me of a line actually. I think in one of the promotional animations, (maybe for Neuvilette actually) she interrupts him to say that they can't end things too early because they need to be more entertaining/exciting, and he agrees with her. So that's some evidence toward that I suppose!
@@Facto_Sapien10 Are you telling his theories are wrong? They seem more surprising than most other theories. What were the changes in the statement? And HYV could have done it to suppress the theory cause it will spoil if found true.
Ei and Makoto are lightening given form which makes more sense then sandals imo since the people of Inazuma used to worship the lightening itself and worshiping something in Japanese folklore gave it life and a book says that's how they were born
Just finished 4.2 archon quest and I just have to get back here to comment. I've got overwhelmed because you're theory told the quest accurately, specially about furina and people of Fontaine. That's just amazed me 😍
I'm pretty sure it was Remus who changed the DNA of the people in Fontaine with the Golden Symphony. He was the first to perform experiments with melting people in Primordial Water and his version of it - the Golden Ichor. The theory that Fontainians are hydro eidolons doesn't make sense, because eidolons are already water spirits, they wouldn't dissolve, nor would Egeria have the power or the reason to do something like that. Remember that Fontainians only melt when they come in contact with pure Primordial Water, if it's diluted they either get high or get sick and die depending on the concentration. Which implies there's a specific (annihilation) reaction taking place between the pure Primordial Water and the unique DNA of Fontainians.
I agree with most of this theory (with the exception of the idea of everyone in Fontaine being Hydro Eidolons), and based on that and my own assumptions, the timeline of events probably goes like this: - Egeria becomes the Hydro Archon after the War and rebuilds what was left of Remuria, which would later become Fontaine. - At some point after the War, Egeria commits some great sin that marks all of her people as Sinners. - The Primordial Sea was used as punishment so she blocked it, or the very act of blocking the Primordial Sea was the sin she committed. - She encounters a young Neuvillette who, due to the impurity of the Hydro Vishaps, was reborn in human form. - Having sympathy for Dragons She takes care of him. - During the Cataclysm she creates Furina from herself (Intentionally or by accident?) and goes to fight against the Abyss in the desert, where she dies. - Right before leaving or right before dying she speaks the prophecy as her last words, which would haunt Furina for the next 500 years.
This has got to be the most in-depth and well put together theory crafting I’ve seen for Genshin thus far! I love the idea that everyone who originates from Fontaine might be a sort of ghost-like existence. It would really add to the overall dark and depressing theme that Mihoyo is trying to steer story’s direction towards as we get closer to the end of the story. I do hope the majority of your theory does actually become reality cause I can’t imagine a more better/darker concept that they could possibly come up with other than this lol
If you think about it, a water droplet acts like a prism, splitting white light into the different wavelengths of color that it's made of. Like how Egeria split herself into fractal aspects.
I've had a crack head theory for a while that I think Furina might have a split personality it's been pointed out by the game a while now that Furina randomly acts different and more mature and serious at times (Act 2 when Navia enters the court she points this out and it's brushed off as maybe she's embarrassed about last time and Act 4 pointed out during her conversation with Arlecchino she seemed very serious out of nowhere but then went back to normal, the traveler comparing her to a "popped balloon") anytime it happens people have brushed it off as Furina being quirky but thinking of it as a split personality kinda makes sense. I don't know what this adds to this videos theory but I just wanted to throw out if anyone was interested
I don't think Furina changing her emotions is necessarily a case of split personality. That's just how she is because of her insecurities. She's just putting up an act (her "normal" self, faking confidence) to maybe cope or show everyone that she's in control with the situation she's in. Her "serious" side is her being self-conscious or self-aware. Maybe she does have another personality or side, but it hasn't manifested yet. Like a dormant thing waiting for a catalyst to awaken. Or she's split in a different way, like two separate clones of her or something like that. Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if she does have a separate entity inside her because of the oceanid's whole "merging" thingy they have going on rn
One point that you didnt talk about is Neuvilette himself commented on the verdict of the sin in the stoppin water cutscene, which imo implied he agreed to condeming the people. This create a weird contradiction between hydro sovereign who agreed to condem fontaine to the primodial flood, and your theory of hydro sovereign helped Egeria sealed primodial water. Also Neuvilette sensed Furina being sad and literally spaced out made me think theres more to their relationship, you dont just look at a doll and space out like that.
Great point. Also we heard how she spoke to him in the past or we read her letter to him cheering that he will touch grass and learn more about his people. Their relationship should be deeper that what we were shown
What he said in CN during that cutscene is something like "This trial is too grand. Please forgive me for not being able to participate in the veredict" For me it means the powers involved in the prophecy are too great for him to be able to stop it (he can't participate in the veredict -> he can't overrule the veredict). And he's apologizing to all of Fontaine for his lack of power.
I thought he didn't agree though? I don't know if it's a language issue but iirc in EN he said the punishment is too harsh and he's sorry he's delaying it.
@@CenerothXaris its "this sentence is too severe, forgive me for overruling it". Either way, its still direct toward the one who is giving the sentence since hes sorry for overruling it, which imo, before he decided to overrule it, he agreed to it, or at least not go against it. Its like a silence equal compliance case
"The God of Justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, seeking to judge all other gods. But even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine." - Dáinsleif
Leviathan's body is made from souls (like Hobbes' book). Maybe the Leviathan is created by the souls of the ancient people in Fontaine (Remurians?). One thing it learnt through these years, is that no matter how theories we have, the true story is always different.
"The true story is always different." If you selectively pick theories to make this seem like the case. lol Yeah, many theories turn out to be incorrect, but there have been theories that ended up being true, like how people figured out that Scaramouche was someone related to the Raiden Shogun before Yae revealed this, or that the Gnoses actually belong to the Dragon Sovereigns before Neuvillette officially revealed that they are basically the Sovereign's Elemental Authorities. And of course, there are theories where aspects of it turn out to be true, like a number of Ashikai's theories for example. Let's not lie now. lol Yes, it's important that people don't treat theories at face value. They are theories for a reason at the end of the day. But Hoyo literally design and formulated the storytelling for people to theorize aspects of the story, and they're not that subtle with it either. lmao This literally what happened with Neuvillette's true identity for example, where even people that don't bother theorizing aspects of the story theorized that Neuvillette was the reborn Hydro Sovereign, because Hoyo was as subtle as a brick being thrown at your face. lol
One thing I'm really curious about with the whole idea of Fontaine being filled with predominantly Hydro Eidolons including the Archon is if there's a consequence to splitting yourself that many times. Idyia maybe could have had a hand at creating the eidolons in Bottleland but that kind of move looks so small compared to if you were to clone what could be an entire nation. I mean sure Egeria is an Archon and Oceanid but I feel like there may be some consequences to creating lesser copies of yourself which in themselves could multiply more (assuming we put aside the hydro eidolon reproduction stuff) to create more people that could be themselves eidolons. The only way I see there being no real consequences is if Fontaine's people pulled evolution gymnastics to somehow become thier own species and cut ties with their original creators bar the part where they turn to water which would be their fundamental thing that they can't evolve out of. As a side note, maybe mixing with other humans from other nations could be a thing, but the offspring would still be either part eidolon which makes them susceptible to primordial seawater or they won't be able to mix at all because I can imagine mixing the genes of what's basically sentient water and that of a human probably won't end well outside of having Archon intervention (which would be a problem if the mixing of genes happened after Egeria's death).
Reminds me of Vill-V from HI 3rd. Basically she can splits her personality/mind/consciousness indefinitely as well as delegating specific task & knowledge for each persona. But she limits herself to 8 persona because if she splits too much she'll just become too dumb, her brain power would be spread too thin. This Vill-V chad also has European steampunk aesthetic and orchestrated the grand plan to save her "world" from being destroyed by the antagonist, doing so while she worked from the shadow. She used lots of trick, deception, lies and backdoor mechanic 😂.
Regarding the whole reproduction thing... worse things have happened in mythology. lol Considering it's seems obvious that Fontaine is partly base on Greek culture and history. Well... not out of the realm of possibilities that they could have taken inspiration on this front, at least broadly. lmao
If they were all dead and replaced, wouldn't they all have Blue Eyes like in the 3.8 event with the Oceanid? 🧐 Pretty the traveler or Arlecchino would have noticed this
I mean Egeria was not common oceanid, she couldve done something so they are not recognisable, its more like a creation of an hybrid time race "human eidolon" that actual simple eidolon
I mean it is not that the current people are dead. It is more that the people in that time died and the current ones would be a succecion of hydro eidolons who aren't aware of themselves and just live as usual humans and even might end up having some genetics with humans down the line
Exactly what I'm thinking! Also, Fontainians don't glow a bright blue colour when using elemental sight, instead glowing a whit-ish colour. This is unlike all the NPCs in the secret summer paradise event in Bottleland, which all glow a bright blue colour, regardless if they are an Oceanid like Idyia or a hydro eidolon like the other NPCs. Heck, if Furina is supposedly a split part of the former hydro archon, that'll make her an Oceanid right? She doesn't glow blue if I'm not mistaken
it may be because they've been human for so long that they no longer can transform into Oceanids at will so they don't have any of the glowing eyes or hair. they cant access that power anymore
19:30 Remember Nahida's 2nd quest? The "elemental form" became a fungi and had children with other fungi. Her children were also fungi, although it was a little more intelligent. That could explain how fontanian children with other people from Teyvat are humans (or at least that's what it seems). Fontanians are also elemental forms (hydro elemental forms/eidolons) that took the shape of a human, being "humans" in biology, but not in essence.
Two extra tidbits to add on! In Neuvillette's "More about Neuvillette III" voiceline, he says: "I went to see an opera recently. It was about a lady whose personal charm and manipulative schemes allowed her to continue to dominate the affairs of the grand mansion where she lived even after her death, like a ghost that refused to be exorcised. The acting was impeccable, and the story exceptional. It also reminded me of the current state of affairs in the real world." When I first read this, I also wondered if Egeria hadn't fully died in the cataclysm-- if somehow her ghost had been haunting Fontaine or if she was puppeteering everything all along with the Oratice and Furina and now it seems it's all her all along except she's not puppeteering... it's just... actually... her! Second, in Neuvillette's character demo, he walks through a sea full of drowned people and if your theory is right then this scene makes so much *actual* sense!
Frankly, I think Egeria's plan wasn't from her own prescience, but an extension of the Goddess of Flowers'. She was the one who saw the Cataclysm and gave Rukkha the Simurgh. Egeria died as a part of the plan, so who is to say that information about Fontaine's future was not also shared with her?
This makes sense. When I Heard that line I thought he was talking about the real Focalors in the oratrice. But it could be Egeria too. The only Problem with this, is that when Neuvillette remebers the past, it's always Furina's voice talking to him and not Egeria. He doesn't seem like he knew Egeria.
Spoiler ID JUST LIKE TO SAY, YOU ARE SPOT ON LIKE EVERYTHING IS MOSTLY RIGHT (maybe its all right but i havent done the archin quest, i only watched the cutscenes) THIS THEORY IS PROBABLY THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS RIGHT NO MATTER HOW STRECHED IT genshin is just really good at putting hints and you're problem solving is just WOW I swear youre just WOW
This theory makes so much sense, I already theorized that Egaria was split in 3, herself folcalores, and the oratrice due to the 3 thrones to the ice wind suite boss. Thus, splitting her divine power in two and leaving a figure head in place to rule, ( she probably didn’t split her power in 3 bc of how much strength she would need to fight back the abyss and to prepare.) This also would help that fact that folcalores was adamant about having a plan for the prophecy despite being unsure what it was, it’s because she was working on it, just not that part of her.
My favorite part about why I love your channel and your content is that you actually give credit to the Reddit users that come up with some the theories. While there are other “theorists” out there (not necessarily genshin theorists) that just make the video on a theory they found on Reddit and don’t give them any credit. They won’t say they came up with it but they won’t say they didn’t and just give the impression that they did. One of the reasons why I didn’t like theory channels at all.
Looking back at it now, it's amazing how accurate this theory turned out to be. From how Fontainians are not actually real humans, to how Furina is just a human version of the Hydro Archon, to how the real Hydro Archon is hiding inside the Oratrice, to how the Hydro Archon coordinated with the Hydro Sovereign to further delay the prophecy and thus buying more time. This theory just turned out to be the entire Final Act of the Fontaine Archon Quest.
this makes so much sense... if you think about the liyue oceanid, she stays out of reach and only the familiars can be hit. it's only by killing them that she takes and is capable of doing damage. if furina is an oceanid and Fontaine people are her familiars then that'd explain why she appears to be so weak. she'll only have her full power back when her familiars get dissolved and their waters come back to her (the oceanid's main body)
Just came back from reading the 4.2 archon quest on project amber because I was impatient and all I gotta say is…, I am so sorry for ever doubting you (I love your vids but this was genuinely the first time I thought your theory was wack 😅) I mean, not all parts of the theory was correct, but the general idea of it was 😱
as far as I understand destiny cannot be changed in Theyvat the voice in Sumeru says so, destiny is said to be closely tied to the vision. However if the vision is a roadmap for a destiny that means whoever gives out visions controls the development of the future. But if Kazuha can have two destinies doesn't that contradict everything we know so far. I believe it is at that moment that Ei decided to get out of plane of Euthymia and not something the traveller did. Now this is not an accident from Hoyoverse because Childe now apparently can have two destinies as well. Ei is only shown surprised when Kazuha can meet the blade and survive it. It may of course be the influence of the traveller that makes that possible, and Ei may already have calculated that possibility. If humanity can fight the influence of a vision Inazuma may be ready to go to war in the loving memory of her sister Makoto. Otherwise humanity is enslaved and cannot control their own destiny some would call that cruelty.
Idk about the whole reason being she's out from her place is because of kazuha, but i think that's not the case. It's because she promised to honor the winner and let the traveler get out from tenshukaku alive. Once traveler set their feet outside of tenshukaku, she immediately tried to eliminate traveler. Since the traveler is considered as threat to eternity, that's why the kazuha scene happened at all. She's merely surprised that there's ordinary human who can withstand her strike.
As we know, the world of Teyvat runs in a Samsara cycle like the one we experienced during the first part of the Sumeru Archon quest, but we also see it’s very possible to break that cycle by finding its host and waking them up, which eventually leads to a new cycle or in the case of the sabzerus festival-to return to our own… What I think is that just like before, the Traveler is the new variant in Teyvat that has been slowly breaking the samsara cycle and preventing these catastrophic events from happening and will at the end create a new cycle where the events we lived will continue to happen in the long future
Certainly a very interesting theory. However, even after reading through the notes in the pinned comment, I see a big issue in the part where "the people of Fontaine (except Furina, Neuvillette and the Melusines) are Hydro Eidolons." Given that Eidolons in Genshin are portrayed to be elemental creatures, much like slimes, they should be heavily tied to the Hydro Element. And if that were the case, none of the playable characters from Fontaine should have a Vision other than Hydro - unless you are positing one of two scenarios: 1. The playable characters outside of Furina and Neuvillette aren't "native" to Fontaine, allowing them to acquire non-Hydro Visions, or 2. The eidolons forming the basis for Navia, Clorinde, Charlotte, Wriothesley and the Fatui siblings have reached a state of existence that's only been found in humans and the yokai/oni of Inazuma. Now you could also make the argument that Diona, a mixed breed, exists, and that the more recent generations of Fontainians have been interbreeding with humans so much that they're closer to humans than hydro eidolons, and that's a fair rebuttal. But honestly? Still a bit of a long shot to me, even with all the evidence you've so concisely presented here. Hopefully the continuation of the Fontaine AQ and the end of the Narzissenkreuz Ordo quest series will clear a lot of this up.
For me I think as Neuvilette said that once the Primordial Sea was nourishing life but "maybe" because of the Abyssal corruption it became tainted and consumes life no matter what form it is. And that would explain why Childe has seen the big whale, you may be wondering why, it's because Abyss is some sort of reflection of Teyvat. Childe is tainted by the some sort of sea in Abyss that enveloped and harbors itself within him that's why he was sentenced by guilty of the oratrice and hence may have thought of the Oratrice that he would be able to consume or bring Fontaine into doom as he containes some sort of Abyssal remnants. Fontainians for me aren't eidolon but humans with higher resonance with the water of Fontaine.
If the former hydro archon used Primordial Water to creat a type of "human eidolon" I wonder if that would explain why Childe's Foul Legacy looks like an Oceanid, since he contains power from the Primordial Whale.
I see the Archon/Oceanid -> Eidolon breakdown possibly similar to the Goddess of Flowers - > Jinn breakdown. And as we know from Lilopar, Jinn can take human form and interbreed with humans, so its not a stretch to think Eidolons can take human form and have children as well.
**NOTES**
- Re: not showing blue under elemental sight thing --> there are three probable reasons for this.
I'm so happy that you made this theory!
You know what, this actually make furina's constelation, mage N comment about lying and Furina crying about lonely make sense.

Wow, this was almost completely right. The only major error was this was focalor’s plan, not Egaria, and she was the one who split herself.

Something I've found just a little odd since it was introduced was the practice of couples *specifically* asking the Hydro Archon for children but looking at that through the lens of the theory fontainians are all eidolons...
Yeah I mean how do couples mixed with somebody from another nation work in Fontaine?
Aren't they asking for healthy children, not children in and of itself?

That's very nice new term we got, Irminsuled 😂.
i aint readin allat but very nice, congrats

Basically Fonatinians are extra special eidolons that aren’t made of hydro and are creations of Egeria after the fall of Remuria

Childes gonna be weak
Her theory is pretty good as always, but I think besides the loose ends she mentions at the end, the one that you mention about Neuvillette apologizing is a big one.Maybe the prophecy was set up by the former hydro sovereign himself and the whale could also be like a remnant of his power that was corrupted by the abyss maybe because of his resentment towards Fontaine, and maybe it was set on motion when the hydro sovereign was reincarnated as Neuvillette, so that's why she looked for him and brought him to Fontaine. There is also the fact that Neuvillette mentions in his trailer and his quest that he has missing memories which is kinda sus, maybe Egeria have something to do with it or maybe is the corruption in the whale that you mention that somehow affected his memories due to his connection with it
"Furina has to maintain the act because obviously Celestia doesn't want dragon sovereigns regaining their authority"
If you return to the Travail trailer (we will always return to it, aparently), in the Fontaine part Dains says that "the god of justice lives for the spectacle of the courtroom, but even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine", and I think that both your afirmation and dains fit together perfectly.

The biggest flaw is that Neuvilette wouldn't be apologizing to Primordial One for overruling the judgement 🤔
This ruling is too harsh.”
Now, am I SAYING that it is Celestia controlling the sea?
Watching this now after everything and wheen you said "The lead actress in a never ending play"
Chills. Just chills
@@mandyred1heck yeah, that is an astute correlation ❤
Also in the current event, the poetry one... we saw that the Fontaine girl callirhoe is actually and eidolon AND an ocenid, AND the fairy of springvale. She used to listen to the wishes and dreams of all springvale people, yet we had one guy "old finch" who got more attached to her after he talked his heart out and vice versa. That got me confused for a bit as to why she left then, but then I also noticed that she could've left because she knew she doesn't have enough power to be a human and act like a human.
But since now she understands that emotions matter more than kid making, she gave him a "heart" made out of pure water to be with old finch, that'll let him meet her in her dreams
So what I could gather from the event here, is that...
Unable to change shape anymore, functionally human in every respect, just different on a molecular level.
not to mention the fontaine ppl who living in other countries tho
BRAVO ASHIKAI, your theory is spot on!
You've completely sold me on everyone being an Eidolon, with how it ties up every single loose end I can't not believe it.
Now I’m wondering if Hydro Archon crying on her throne in the prophecy can be interpreted a different way. As in, maybe everyone in Fontaine does dissolve and Furina, after reuniting the parts of herself, cries to bring them back, just as Egeria did in the past.
This would’ve been SO COOL damn I wish they’d done this
Unfortunately that would’ve just brought a new sin
Maybe the Indemnitium is the compensation Egeria prepared for Neuvilette when he's ready and for him to use it to force back the primordial sea into Abyss (because i don't think it will be that easy to destroy an entire ocean of such potent water)
holy hell you cooked 💀
@@jamesnishimura5623 damn i kinda did ngl 🤭😝
this aged well! great work, mate 🎉😮
Also, there is one thing I'd really like to note. *(Spoilers for the current Windborne Poetry event)*
When Callirhoe's human transformation is undone in the final act, she does not return to oceanid form, instead she becomes a Hydro Eidolon.
Another addition to your theory:
In the description of one of the tainted Hydro Phantasms, it states that Oceanids can also be naturally born from pure waters, so when the waters of Fontaine got "corrupted", Oceanids can no longer be born from pure waters and the tainted Eidolons began to exist.
I'm leaning more towards the latter that Eidolons are fragments that can become Oceanids
GIRL YOUR FONTANIANS NOT BEING HUMANS THEORY WAS RIGHT I WAS GIGGLING AND SHIT DURING UT
I can t believe how close she was this is insane...
But then Childe has to be 30+ years old which I don't think he is.

I am here after finishing the archon quest because you are amazing omg
I agree with most of this theory (with the exception of the idea of everyone in Fontaine being Hydro Eidolons), and based on that and my own assumptions, the timeline of events probably goes like this:
- Egeria becomes the Hydro Archon after the War and rebuilds what was left of Remuria, which would later become Fontaine.
Bravo. I swore I would be be back here if your theory was right!
The way I screamed when that part came
If you think about it, a water droplet acts like a prism, splitting white light into the different wavelengths of color that it's made of. Like how Egeria split herself into fractal aspects.
THIS THEORY SLAPS AND 1000% ACCURATE!!!!!! I FIRMLY BELIEVE ANYTHING ASHIKAI SAYS!!!
while doing the archon quest i was seriously screaming because of how much this video was SOOOOOO close to the actual truth of the story!
I am actually scared for how closely accurate this theory is for 4.2 oh my god
Considering Furina is shown with only 1 half of the 'droplet eye' there should also be another half to complete the set. So its very likely
Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if she does have a separate entity inside her because of the oceanid's whole "merging" thingy they have going on rn
this video aged well
One point that you didnt talk about is Neuvilette himself commented on the verdict of the sin in the stoppin water cutscene, which imo implied he agreed to condeming the people.
Please forgive me for not being able to participate in the veredict"
For me it means the powers involved in the prophecy are too great for him to be able to stop it (he can't participate in the veredict -> he can't overrule the veredict).
But even she knows not to make an enemy of the divine."
- Dáinsleif
Leviathan's body is made from souls (like Hobbes' book). Maybe the Leviathan is created by the souls of the ancient people in Fontaine (Remurians?).
One thing it learnt through these years, is that no matter how theories we have, the true story is always different.
"The true story is always different."
If you selectively pick theories to make this seem like the case. lol Yeah, many theories turn out to be incorrect, but there have been theories that ended up being true, like how people figured out that Scaramouche was someone related to the Raiden Shogun before Yae revealed this, or that the Gnoses actually belong to the Dragon Sovereigns before Neuvillette officially revealed that they are basically the Sovereign's Elemental Authorities. And of course, there are theories where aspects of it turn out to be true, like a number of Ashikai's theories for example.
Let's not lie now. lol Yes, it's important that people don't treat theories at face value. They are theories for a reason at the end of the day. But Hoyo literally design and formulated the storytelling for people to theorize aspects of the story, and they're not that subtle with it either. lmao This literally what happened with Neuvillette's true identity for example, where even people that don't bother theorizing aspects of the story theorized that Neuvillette was the reborn Hydro Sovereign, because Hoyo was as subtle as a brick being thrown at your face. lol
Ayoo wtf this video really aged well
One thing I'm really curious about with the whole idea of Fontaine being filled with predominantly Hydro Eidolons including the Archon is if there's a consequence to splitting yourself that many times.
Regarding the whole reproduction thing... worse things have happened in mythology. lol
Considering it's seems obvious that Fontaine is partly base on Greek culture and history. Well... not out of the realm of possibilities that they could have taken inspiration on this front, at least broadly. lmao
I was just shocked from how accurate this was when playing the archon quest
This ain't yugioh lil bro
Rewatching all of the theory videos before I dive into the last AQ. LESGOOOOOO!!!
Nahida in Sumeru did fear Datore, she even backed up his claim "you know you can't beat me with your current power".

Great Video. Proved to be right. 😅
ASHIKAI. YOU ARE A GENIUS. WOW. I'M COMING BACK HERE AFTER 4.2 AND JUST WOW.
It also reminded me of the current state of affairs in the real world."
When I first read this, I also wondered if Egeria hadn't fully died in the cataclysm-- if somehow her ghost had been haunting Fontaine or if she was puppeteering everything all along with the Oratice and Furina and now it seems it's all her all along except she's not puppeteering... it's just... actually... her!
Second, in Neuvillette's character demo, he walks through a sea full of drowned people and if your theory is right then this scene makes so much *actual* sense!
that Neuvilette line might also be talking about Celestia, which has been weirdly quiet for years (I think it's Venti that mentions it)
Frankly, I think Egeria's plan wasn't from her own prescience, but an extension of the Goddess of Flowers'.
I can’t explain how much I love Ashikai’s videos/theories thank you for all the hard work

SHE PREDICTED EVERYTHING
This theory makes so much sense, I already theorized that Egaria was split in 3, herself folcalores, and the oratrice due to the 3 thrones to the ice wind suite boss. Thus, splitting her divine power in two and leaving a figure head in place to rule, ( she probably didn’t split her power in 3 bc of how much strength she would need to fight back the abyss and to prepare.) This also would help that fact that folcalores was adamant about having a plan for the prophecy despite being unsure what it was, it’s because she was working on it, just not that part of her.
That location was made after Egeria’s death.
"Ashikai theories are prophecy."
- N, probably
Looking back at it now, it's amazing how accurate this theory turned out to be. From how Fontainians are not actually real humans, to how Furina is just a human version of the Hydro Archon, to how the real Hydro Archon is hiding inside the Oratrice, to how the Hydro Archon coordinated with the Hydro Sovereign to further delay the prophecy and thus buying more time.
This theory just turned out to be the entire Final Act of the Fontaine Archon Quest.
The longer I watch the creepier it gets how accurate it is.
Bro she's literally cooked and got 5 michelin star
this makes so much sense... if you think about the liyue oceanid, she stays out of reach and only the familiars can be hit. it's only by killing them that she takes and is capable of doing damage. if furina is an oceanid and Fontaine people are her familiars then that'd explain why she appears to be so weak. she'll only have her full power back when her familiars get dissolved and their waters come back to her (the oceanid's main body)
me coming back to this after the recent archon quest: *someone cooked here*

YOU WERE SO RIGHT!!!! OMG YOU NAILED IT!!!!!!!!! BEST LORE TUBER ASHIKAI!!!!
as far as I understand destiny cannot be changed in Theyvat the voice in Sumeru says so, destiny is said to be closely tied to the vision.
As we know, the world of Teyvat runs in a Samsara cycle like the one we experienced during the first part of the Sumeru Archon quest, but we also see it’s very possible to break that cycle by finding its host and waking them up, which eventually leads to a new cycle or in the case of the sabzerus festival-to return to our own…
What I think is that just like before, the Traveler is the new variant in Teyvat that has been slowly breaking the samsara cycle and preventing these catastrophic events from happening and will at the end create a new cycle where the events we lived will continue to happen in the long future
Childe’s destiny likely has already been changed. It’s said so in his boss drops.
For the Ei case, I might remid you that it was the Puppet, not her, explaining the lack of emotion
Didn’t the Sumeru witch lady or someone say that a god could change destiny?

Certainly a very interesting theory. However, even after reading through the notes in the pinned comment, I see a big issue in the part where "the people of Fontaine (except Furina, Neuvillette and the Melusines) are Hydro Eidolons."
Given that Eidolons in Genshin are portrayed to be elemental creatures, much like slimes, they should be heavily tied to the Hydro Element. And if that were the case, none of the playable characters from Fontaine should have a Vision other than Hydro - unless you are positing one of two scenarios:
1. The playable characters outside of Furina and Neuvillette aren't "native" to Fontaine, allowing them to acquire non-Hydro Visions, or
Been waiting for this one, I am so intrigued as to where this is going
