    I missed this one at your original upload. As far as sustainability, wild harvesting can be very harsh for the environment, particularly the wildlife. I’m a WY property owner for generations so part of me loves that about this range. I am not saying this company does any worse than any other company or that I know of anything negative because I don’t but the area is very sensitive with the type of highly intelligent animals located there who are creatures of habit, can easily be spooked, and eat those wild grown foods. The type of large game animal that can and does starve regularly because of food or fear. The wild berries are there for them originally. I have used one product from the range and it was nice and okay for my sensitive skin.
    I would offer that they shift to sustainability because people in the know realize it’s iffy based on the above. It’s not about clean for them it’s about “natural” and “wild”. It is a remote area and getting trucks in and out of the area may be incrementally more than an area like Houston.

    The Cleanser looks really nice., I don't usually like a foaming Cleanser but there's a few that have worked out. I'm currently using the Heimish green clean and it's a gel texture that doesn't really foam. I love the look of the eye cream too, anything with the word balm and I'm sold. Have you tried the Algenist triple algae eye balm? I just recently read about it and it sounds like a winner. I like what this brand has done with its products and packaging. I'm going to see if it's available here. ✌🐸

    RUclips aggravates me. I was wanting to see this review, but for some reason RUclips thinks if I miss a video or two from someone I must just not want to see them at all. Even though I have notifications set to ALL.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  2 года назад +1

      Yeah, that same thing happens to me with channels I want to watch.
      I think the problem with the RUclips algorithm is this: with it being a computer itself, it treats humans like we are also computers. But we are humans - some days we want to watch koala videos (lol), and yet that doesn’t mean we suddenly ONLY want to watch koalas and nothing else! 👀

    Alice, have you tried either of their serums? I’ve been loving the niacinamide one but am eyeing the vitamin-c one, and everything on their site is 30% off right now! 🥰🥵

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  Год назад +1

      I like their vitamin c serum, but because I have acne-prone skin, my favorite c derivative is the one that also helps with acne (SAP). They use the ethlylated form of c, which is more similar to stabilized L-AA. Great for brightening and smoothing
      My Alpyn favs (to this day!): melt moisturizer, line filling eye balm, and also the lip mask 😍

    • @ultraviolettas
      @ultraviolettas Год назад

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole do you think I could use the bearberry vit-c serum with the glow recipe guava tranexamic acid serum or would that be too much? 🤔

  • @masonjeq4261
    @masonjeq4261 2 года назад

    I feel like Alpyn has the scent of wildflowers. They have a melatonin mask with dandelion... so I think that's intentional. I like the brand and its one of my favorite "clean" brands which I often like for scent/texture. The biggest "negatives" I've seen are: (1) some of their products become hard to use all of without pulling out a tiny brush/spatula to get the last bits when they're in a pump, though I'll forgive this given the efforts they put in on sustainability; (2) to me this is a "cold weather" line designed to work best for people in drier colder climates, which doesn't mean people can't use it anywhere it just means that the default is a bit heavier than a comparable product from say k-beauty; and (3) their line has a lot of overlap on actives, meaning you may not want a serum and moisturizer and mask that all do similar things.

    • @AliceintheRabbitHole
      @AliceintheRabbitHole  2 года назад

      All good points! Your second point is especially interesting to me - that makes a lot of logical sense. I absolutely believe climate plays a big role in our skincare preferences! What I really want to wrap my head around (and still have not) is: why do most K-Beauty cleansers feel so much more drying to me? Is it offset by the hydration of all the ensuing products, or is there something about their climate that makes the same cleansers feel less harsh in their environment? It’s hard for me to guess as I haven’t experienced their climate, but I’m suspecting there is some other factor at play here! Thankfully the Sioris cleanser is a big exception, but the vast majority of Korean cleansers do not work for me - no matter how much I absolutely adore everything else!

    • @masonjeq4261
      @masonjeq4261 2 года назад

      @@AliceintheRabbitHole I don't fully agree with South Korean cleansers being more stripping if you compare apples to apples. For example I think their gel cleansers to gel cleansers like youth to the people, most South Korean cleansers are more hydrating. Also if you compare clay based cleansers to other clay based cleansers in the rest of the world, similar issue. That said I think the South Korean populace leans towards those more stripping cleanser type. You rarely see milk cleansers.
      I associate that preference with the fact that South Korea is a very warm humid climate. Just as in the summer you may look for a gel cleanser vs. milk, or a lighter moisturizer, I expect that year round they lean towards the lighter textures.

      I like the plant genius as a day or night cream - the vitamin c a little more as a day cream.
