Hi everyone, happy Friday!! Hope all my fellow Floridians got through Helene just fine. We are all right over here 😊 As for this video, no idea why I said Rouge requires spending $1k *in store*. Y’all know how it works lol, don’t mind my speak-o 😂 Have a great weekend!!
Drunk Elephant packaging is the bomb. Leakproof even for liquids, I have samples from years ago that I refill with other products for travel. Even if you hate the brand, Amazon carries their airless pump style packaging.
I absolutely appreciate these “is it worth the splurge” videos! Sometimes more expensive products are worth the price, but I don’t have the money to try things on a whim, so hearing about other people’s experiences with them-and especially your evaluation of the ingredients, like with the Drunk Elephant SAP-does help me narrow down what to prioritize. Thank you, Alice! 😊
Except for Tower 28's hypochlorous acid spray. In Canada the refill is 0.5 is $88 for 0.5 liters. I just got a full liter of amazon for $30. I can't believe any one pays Tower 28's price for hypochlorous acid spray.
Yeah. The cleanser seems interesting but... when it comes to the spray, why would people pay Tower 28's price? I order mine in bulk from E11ement - 2 liters for 46. They're a Canadian brand as well and I don't feel the smell is too strong on it. And for that cheap, I don't feel guilty using it liberally!
I too bought that laneige set just for the pouch!! It is so so adorable. Loved the sleeping mask and lip sleeping mask…for the eye mask it’s my first time trying one and what can I say it just makes me feel bougeeeee hehe
Alice, my thoughts exactly about Remedy! I’ve been wanting to try either the pore size one or dark spots, but I can’t fit it in my existing routine that already has retinal. I can only watch it with wistful eyes 😢
Right it makes so much sense that they would include retinol. But by doing so, it means the folks who have watched Doctorly for years probably can’t fit their own products in their routines!
I looooove the tower 28 cleanser!! I have psoriasis and all their products are wonderful. Their moisturizer is honestly one of the best super simple barrier moisturizers!!
I did buy the drunk elephant barrier cream, and it is really great. Not sure I’d replace the la la retro for it, but I def like it better than the protini. I like it on days where I really just don’t want to do a morning skincare routine.
Hey! I am fine hearing about more luxury brands. I can't always afford them but it is fun and also sometimes I will spend less on other products for one splurge product if it is worth it. Lol! I have been using some Depology, Medik8 and Lagom ATM. 😊 I am excited to see what Stratia is coming out with next too!
Can you please make a video with all your little skincare tools? (Not devices) but like your scoops and little ball for applying eye cream, i want so many of these things, but am always wondering what the best shapes are for what and where to buy them, Amazon has some but not like a good variety set 😅
Glad you folks are okay. Have you checked out the Maelove peptide squad? As for the Laneige eye gel, I saw one esty say that she likes eye gels for the under eye area as opposed to creams due to the area being poreless and prone to fluid becoming trapped/built up and potentially developing milia/puffiness/congesting the lympnode. Walgreen's now has a line of products they are comparing to popular brands like The Ordinary, YTTP, Glow Recipe, Kiehl's, etc.
Mm true, yep as these things go, I can imagine the eye gel being for some folks! Peptide squad does look great! Do you know if they have disclosed the percentage of copper peptide anywhere? 😊
Tatcha is sooo expensive, hence I have never bought anything from them, same with drunk elephant. These two brands, and also Hourglass and Tom Ford are brands that i stay away from. I would like to try Remedy, and also Dr Idriss brand. Lots of influencers with brands there, as there is prequel as well. I have only used Dr Vanita Rattans brand which is brilliant as it's made for skin of colour like me plus UK based so shipping is easy for me, but I would like to try the american ones. I hope Remedy and prequel ship to the UK eventually, as Dr Idris started to ship here recently
I’ve been discovering how much I love a gel cleanser but now I have too many considering how long it takes me to get through cleanser. I’ve been eyeing the bloom effects sunscreen stick since I saw Alex the cosmetic chemist talk about it and I do love a tinted sunscreen that is more like foundation… Thanks for giving such thorough reviews ❤
❤ I love your videos!! All of them! You are so funny! …and yes, definitely yes I do splurge on skincare…mostly on serums, eye creams, toners, masks and even on body care🤭
I just repurchased the Laneige Bouncy & Firm Sleeping Mask, I really like how glowy it makes my skin look. I was surprised at how soothing I find the peony scent.
So many good products! I’m so glad you talked about lion pose! I was really looking into that recently, but there were so few reviews! “Barrier repair” are probably the two words that attract me to a product most lol I definitely want to try this one!!
Oh man… I really loved the DE bouncy brightfacial on your recommendation, so I fear I will have to try their sodium ascorbyl phosphate serum soon (when it’s on a good deal of course. Not paying at that price point). I love ultra thick moisturizers, so Bora Barrier is quite tempting as well. BTW, I highly recommend trying the new Sephora brand hydrating cica repair cream. The ingredients aren’t super special, but I was blown away by how thick and soothing it was for the price!
Yeah maybe the peach and lily has more copper peptides, but guuuurl the innbeauty has so so so many good barrier repairing ingredients like all in one. I just got my first refill I loveeeee this serum. Please look into it moreeee I'm sad you didn't like it!😢
Glad to hear you made it through Helene okay. I have Florida friends who got hit hard. I tend to splurge more on haircare than skincare. It's fun to see what you loved and thought was worth it, though. The Phlur Caramel Skin sounds fabulous!
Next time I splurge I’m going for the Tatcha Indigo Overnight Repair. The Drunk Elephant C-Luma also sounds pretty interesting. I don’t have a C serum in my routine right now.
We can't (in Canada) shop at Ulta - and from what I see in different videos - looks like Ulta might have a better loyalty program. I get it - with the Drunk Elephant fans - I think it because I never tried their product (even before all of hoopla) - I honestly think it is because I felt that they were a little overpriced. InnBeauty is a brand that is growing on me - I think it is a bit pricey as well (here in Canada they are) - but I really loved every product I tried - I haven't repurchased yet, but waiting for the Klarna 25% off during Christmas time or whenever they did that awesome special last year.
My guilty purchase from Drunk Elephant is the T.L.C. Framboose. It WORKS for me and everytime I try to convince myself it doesn't really, I use it on a really bad skin day and it's like magic the next day and I have to grumpily realize that yes, it's expensive but it works. I've not found something else that works as effectively in those situations. I do use it as sparingly as possible though because of the price.
I like that Tatcha, Innbeauty and Tower 28 are on my “good” list of being loudly and proudly prochoice! I’m planning on spending my Sephora gift card this year (if I get one😂) on the Indigo overnight mask. And YES the copper in the kbeauty seems very very low😂 I finally broke down ordered the Peach and Lily during the 21 day sale. I thought I would have been fully converted to Kbeauty only a year into living in Korea, but I still order sometimes!
I am very much want to incorporate the in Beauty project into my routine specifically the extreme cream, elastic skin, and the slushie serum. However they do have a lot of plant extracts and I have very sensitive skin! I know that you do as well what do you think of the other products
What do we do to manage peeling from retinoids like adapeline & Tretinoin? I helped my mom work her way up from adapeline to 0.5% Tretinoin but she took a break due to a trip when resumed the peeling began. Will it ever go away & what can one do to improve that symptom without reducing strength of the product? Simultaneous she did have glowy improved skin at a distance & improved texture but up close it was flaking around nose etc I since took her back to adapeline every night to reaclimate her skin before bringing the Tretinoin back. Her skin just didn’t have as dramatic results.
I finally got the Bloom effects sunscreen as well. I refused to because of the price before and mineral sunscreens usually fail for me. I do like the finish but it might be breaking me out. I also feel like finish wise it is pretty similar to Neutrogena’s Tinted mineral sunscreen, but that one is only spf 30.
I did try the Laneige sleeping mask (face) and I loved it - I have been wanting to try the eye sleeping mask, but just for the bag, lol (I saw that online and though that is so cute!). I do like the Tatcha Kissu lip mask, thanks for the review on the lip balm. I am currently using the Torriden lip essence (love this so much), and the Klavuu lip sleeping pack. Have a lovely weekend Alice! 😃🌸💮🌸
Tbh I’m glad gourmand is having so much of a moment. Reminds me of the “hack” we had in middle school of wearing vanillin as perfume except, well, WAY better LOL
I don’t believe you need to spend a lot to get a good product. But like you, there’s something about Drunk Elephant that I always enjoy and always go back to. I also have the new vitamin c serum and like it a lot.
Hi Alice. I have a vitamin c derivative serum in Neogen that has ascorbyl phosphate formula. 😊 I use it together with the retinal after allowing a 1 hour difference of application. 😊 Btw, I have a mist that also uses brown sugar base notes and vanilla extract that gives off a warm confectionery creation. 🎉 It's a nice aroma that you can enjoy even after you finish off your morning caffeine. 😂
Did yours yellow!? Mine yellowed!! I think it’s probably still okay (yellow isn’t brown after all lol), but I was SHOCKED when I pulled out that Neogen and saw that. It’s now in my fridge just in case 😅
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Hi Alice. Yes, I tend to keep my vitamin c serum in the fridge the moment I receive it. 😉 The first Cos de Baha vitamin c serum has turned yellow when I keep it at room temperature just after a week and a half and subsequently I decided to keep any vitamin c serum in the fridge the moment I received it. 😞
Hi Alice! I just found out my husband is going to new orleans in November! We live in the uk. I'm going to send him on a skincare mission as there's some great brands we can't get here. On his list is prequel, peach and lily, lion pose, Innbeauty project, alpyn beauty. Any other great American brands you think i should try? And any top products? I have a nice big budget as this is my xmas gift! Your recommendations I trust ❤
Oh hey my old town haha! (Conference, I take it?) I like your list! If you’re picking up any makeup, maybe have him swing by CVS and get Joah’s brow pencil and concealer (they feel high end), and maybe add some Peach Slices to the Peach & Lily (especially if you need any acne care)
@AliceintheRabbitHole I know right, your old hood! Yes, a conference. Wonderful, thank you. I'll be so excited to have him home. Not because I missed him, but because he'll have a case full of skincare 👌
Because I'm allergic to titanium dioxide, an ingredient in GrandePoute, I use the Lawless lip mask every evening. Love peptides in a lip mask! Is GrandePoute still your favorite?
Good morning Alice. I have a question about suncut milk. I just purchased my 1st bottle, ready to patch test later. I also have the skin aqua milk (blue bottle) which I think will be very similar (have you tried it?). As it's waterproof, do you think it needs a double cleanser? It's so light I wasn't sure, but I feel like it may need it. Do you double cleanse after using it, with no makeup? ❤
I'm real interested in trying the Tulip Dew sunscreen but when I clicked on your link, it took me to their website and I don't see it on the Sephora website (?). Just wondering if this is an in-store only purchase? Also, have you ever tried the Isdin tinted sunscreen? Because its in the same price category, has a lovely elegant feel and also has DNA repair enzymes. I love the tint on me but would love your opinion on that sunscreen and how it compares with the Tulip Dew.
Ah so sorry, it’s not on Sephora! I threw in a few “other” shopping trips It is on Credo though which I’ve found myself becoming a bigger fan of more recently. Good alternative option to sephora
Hello Alice, it’s good to hear from you. Unfortunately, there isn’t a Sephora in Chile and I would love for there to be one, because to buy a Natasha Denona palette, for example, I have to pay around 40% more, because there are some independent stores that bring makeup from the United States and they have a lot of variety. And not only Sephora, but they have more choice, maybe I would become a compulsive shopper. A big hug Alice, I hope you are doing very well and happy, I am still dealing with many things, but I have faith that they will have a good prognosis. The only thing I want right now is for my partner to be healthy. The other day she had a very specific test that detects cancer and I hope the results come out well; do you remember that I told you that she has a tumor in her lung? Then we will know if she can have surgery or not, so I pray that everything goes well. A big hug Alice 🌷
Yes! That must be so scary. I wish they could speed up the test results for the sake of everyone’s nerves, but sadly I get that these things take time. Sending all the best vibes 💕💕
Wow yes I’ve been a Drunk Elephant girl for 7 years now?!? As pricey as it is, it’s not as expensive as buying supposed dupes that I just wind up using on my body… I’m never ever without TLC and Lala, the rest wander in and out (sets). I haven’t tried this C yet since my rhino skin can handle LAA but I’ll try to sample it next time I’m in store. Thanks!
Bahahah! As over as Diddy😂😂😂 man Kackey has almost got me to buy that Bloom Effects … I have Whitney too. Love those Icon puppies. Uoma is on the food list, but what is happening with them?!?!
Sharon lost the brand apparently. 💔 it is a WHOLE story and thankfully she is fighting to get it back. I still think they have the best matte lipsticks and powder, and with matte coming back in…oh how I want to see them have their moment!!
Oh no I love Missing Person. 🙈 To me it smells like “Jazz Club” by Maison Margiela. I like cinnamon, clove, jasmine, tobacco, etc. aka very spicy and warm scents. I don’t like gourmands at all. Very different ends of the scent spectrum IMO. Likely why you didn’t like it at all. The sweetest I like is fruity scents like the old DKNY Be Delicious, if you remember that blast from the past.
I know..I know Alice I have to admit I’m loyal to a few drunk elephant products they are so good I buy at 10 time the points and then when I get a 20percent off coupon I’ll buy with points
I have smelled Missing Person and I don't enjoy it. Citrus absolutely goes away the quick. I agree not spending $40 on a part of a lip treatment! Have a wonderful weekend ❌️ ⭕️
I have an irrational love for Drunk Elephant's peptide lactic acid serum. The tweens (and DE's response) soured the brand for me, but I still bought one for 10x points. 😂
From our experience, my sisters, friends and I each appreciate a different fragrance when we use Missing Person. It's very cool! Some smell yummy but others are just odd.😂 We think we should invent a party game with it!😄✌️🩵
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Oh no, I wasn't clear. What I tried to say was that it smells a little different on each one of us. It smells pretty good on me but not so good on my sister. I think all fragrances are like that, tho.🤷♀️

It's so light I wasn't sure, but I feel like it may need it. Do you double cleanse after using it, with no makeup? ❤
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. A thorough cleanser usually removes it just fine, although my lighter/cream ones do not!
Hi there! Have you tried the bifida concentrate line of ma:nyo???
I'm real interested in trying the Tulip Dew sunscreen but when I clicked on your link, it took me to their website and I don't see it on the Sephora website (?). Just wondering if this is an in-store only purchase? Also, have you ever tried the Isdin tinted sunscreen? Because its in the same price category, has a lovely elegant feel and also has DNA repair enzymes. I love the tint on me but would love your opinion on that sunscreen and how it compares with the Tulip Dew.
Ah so sorry, it’s not on Sephora! I threw in a few “other” shopping trips
It is on Credo though which I’ve found myself becoming a bigger fan of more recently. Good alternative option to sephora
i really love tatcha....
I like their cleansers and moisturizers
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Thank you Alice 😘
Wow yes I’ve been a Drunk Elephant girl for 7 years now?!? As pricey as it is, it’s not as expensive as buying supposed dupes that I just wind up using on my body… I’m never ever without TLC and Lala, the rest wander in and out (sets).
I haven’t tried this C yet since my rhino skin can handle LAA but I’ll try to sample it next time I’m in store. Thanks!
How weird is it to watch the brand go from a brand for adults to…this. I’m still so confused (and darn it some products are still so good!)
I wish Remedy didn’t have retinol in them. I have Dark Spots and it’s nice but I had to ditch it. I’m choosing my Tret over their retinol.
Agreed! I wonder if they will consider it in the future
The bubble brightening serum broke me out 😢
Oh nooo!! I wonder if they changed something about it?
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Sorbitan Isostearate seems to be the culprit for me
As over as diddy!!! Yes!!!
What retinol does your partner use? My bf wants to start one but he doesn’t use much skincare
Try Script by doctorly dermatologist. More cost effective than agency.product.
Don't mind me, just commenting for the algorithm
I do remember Be Delicious! Whew that one was very, very popular
I know..I know Alice I have to admit I’m loyal to a few drunk elephant products they are so good I buy at 10 time the points and then when I get a 20percent off coupon I’ll buy with points
Yup that’s the best strategy! They have won me over a few times - only a few, but oh how I love those products haha!
I just wish Remedy would make products without retinoids. :(
Same!! 😩
😂 I also don’t get the appeal of phlur missing person
🐰
I have smelled Missing Person and I don't enjoy it. Citrus absolutely goes away the quick. I agree not spending $40 on a part of a lip treatment! Have a wonderful weekend ❌️ ⭕️
If only citrus stuck around a bit longer 😩
Thank you, hope you have a great weekend too! 🥰
@@AliceintheRabbitHole I agree
I have an irrational love for Drunk Elephant's peptide lactic acid serum. The tweens (and DE's response) soured the brand for me, but I still bought one for 10x points. 😂
See you and me both LOL. What alternate reality did we step into where kids love an expensive skincare brand for adults I’m still so confused
Hi❌️⭕️
please stop elongating the last syllable of every word like RUclipsr Abbey Yung, it has become very annoying
From our experience, my sisters, friends and I each appreciate a different fragrance when we use Missing Person. It's very cool! Some smell yummy but others are just odd.😂 We think we should invent a party game with it!😄✌️🩵
Wait so you use it for layering? Maybe I’m using it wrong!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole Oh no, I wasn't clear. What I tried to say was that it smells a little different on each one of us. It smells pretty good on me but not so good on my sister. I think all fragrances are like that, tho.🤷♀️
You could make a video on all Sulwhasoo products 🫣😊
Love their products but omg the prices are crazy
Check the channel, did that recently! 😁
