    Built a 84# logic by prime years ago.
    Was shooting 690 grain single beveled cutthroat 200grain.
    Was a beast. Didn't like the tunability of it however. Went back to Mathews for a few models.
    Currently still shooting my vxr 28.
    However i still cant forget how stable that center grip tech is.
    Im convinced that my vxr will now be a backup bow and will be purchasing a new prime 32.
    Great video

    Always been a Prime guy. First one I owned was the Impact. Never looked back. Owned several other companies, but always had a Prime. This may be worth the upgrade from my Inline 3. Gunna be a hard decision because my Inline is still great. Especially the grip. As a Central Illinois hunter, I dont need the Carbon material, but the aluminum always got cold without wrapping. Nice to see Prime getting the praise it needs.

    Just started watching your videos and you do a great job. I really like the fact that you used an actual hunting arrow set up for one of your speed test. I think you should add that to your speed test for now on. I like the different grains but when you use every day world hunting arrow is pretty awesome. Keep up the good work.

    I shot this bow and the SS34 today, finally. Same specs.
    RVX....stiffer than I anticipated at 70 but smooth and solid.
    SS34....Holy shit. I'm still shooting a solocam and I've never felt anything that smooth at 70#. It was on smooth...ran out of time to shoot on performance.
    Waiting on him to get an Ethos so i can finally shoot that and try to make a decision.

    She wont win any drag races, but DAMN is it accurate and comfortable. Speed is worthless if you cant draw smoothly, quietly, and with as little movement as possible. As a hunter, and coming from an Omnia (yeah....went for speed....), I was WAY more accurate and steady on the target with the Revex/RVX. R Shoulder injury & L bicep tendon tear made the Omnia go on the shelf....FOR SALE!!!

    Yeah you need an extra .5" your front shoulder is rising up. But yeah a 30 yard top pin isn't as bad as people think. It's a pretty simple gap to compensate for... Unless your arrow is going 240 fps. That might be more difficult

    I watch a handful of archers. shop owners, and target archers. I learn something from everyone of them. I Think yours and MFJJ's reviews are the most thorough. I learn a ton about atchery from him as well. but i value your opinion just as much, coming from your average deer hunter and bow enthusiasts. Keep it up brother. Im sure you have noticed that i comment every video. You are great at commenting back. I appreciate that. it makes me want to comment more, knowing ylthat your see it, and take it into consideration. • @Retrackt
      @Retrackt 10 месяцев назад

      I went with the Prime personally, speed has never been the end all factor for myself personally.
      The RVX is imo the smoothest drawing on the market, which to me is more important cause I can stay slow and quiet in the stand with it.
      The Ethos is an awesome bow as well, but for me it came down to the RVX holding and pointing the cleanest for me, and shot a bit better with it.
      Both are very nice, I would shoot both back to back if you havent and decide from there!

    is it just me or are naming the bows RVX and Revex super confusing. when listening to people talk some people pronounce RVX as Rev X and sounds like REVEX. come on prime. get more orginal. had a prime centergy and loved how it held so steady, but didnt love the dual cams. looks like this new simpler prime is calling my name.

    I’ve seen a bunch of reviews that say this bow is insanely slow which is why it’s draw feels so great.. Any manufacture can make a incredibly clean pull if they sacrifice speed.

    • @BackyardBows
      @BackyardBows  10 месяцев назад +2

      Killed two does with this insanely slow bow last night same sit, actually dropped both of them in there place, what we consider slow these days is funny to me, slower than advertised yes, 275 with a 500 g arrow to me is perfect especially with such a effortless pull 18ft up

    • @micahdunleavy9227
      @micahdunleavy9227 10 месяцев назад

      @@BackyardBows I guess it’s not slow compared to 10 years ago, it is annoying that bow manufacturers speed ratings are fibbed so much… I wish they’d be a bit more honest.. Also I don’t have a problem with their speeds, obviously it’ll have no problem killing a deer but 10-20 fps is a big difference imo for them to claim. Also they gave the rvx a 340 ibo not a 335 from the rivex from last year..

    • @ShawnGilbert1967
      @ShawnGilbert1967 10 месяцев назад

      Well the Lift is notoriously slower than it's rating by quite a bit ( iirc bowtech seems the closest this year)

  • @ShawnGilbert1967
    @ShawnGilbert1967 10 месяцев назад

    Thank You, if MORE reviewers would concentrate or signal boost "sub $1000" bow reviews and test, imho that would lower flagship cost...they get reviewed pushed and sold from the media...instead of budget which manufacturers don't like the label just sub 1000, watch more bows would suddenly be sub 1000 if that was what permeated a big majority of content ( Including previous years flag ship further making it harder for bow companies to sell their newest overpriced ones"....

    • @ShawnGilbert1967
      @ShawnGilbert1967 10 месяцев назад

      @BackyardBows oh dude I'm SO sold, I hope you grow.....
      I'm just getting back in ( I was Hoyt Smoke era lol had a few after but you get the picture, that had a dealer ALOTMENT I got the first one in my state and it wasn't nearly this much haha even adjusted for inflation and the Mathews at the time were solo cam they took measurements and had to custom order the first one still not remotely this much adjusted for inflation)...
      To ME for Hoyt for instance I still see my AlphaTec Riser design base today so here is what sticks out to an old guy...
      1. Quad limbs did indeed catch on.
      2. Solo cam ran its course hehe...
      A. But seriously the integrated drop away rest and sights as well as stabilizer bringing everything in line that's great innovation including picatinny but man we was shooting drop away rest to lizard tongues to whisper biscuits...
      B. The adjustable rail sights, but imho that is so prevalent and deadly due to lower cost compact laser range finding.
      C. Parallel and over limb tech probably takes a ton of shock out....
      Nothing that should have double or trippled price, hell my smoke shot 342 at 5grs per lb 75lbs fully cranked down give or take a 1lb basically IBO but at my then 32" draw..( probably closer to 31 )...so I'm real surprised they aren't faster or coarse ( and this is off old man memory it was insanely hard to shoot iirc 5 1/4 BH and a ton of reflex...
      I like the newer style back stabilizers and also I think yall are calling them ghost bars that's awesome too....
      I'm buying something soon, I was leaning Ronin ( or Hoyt as I'm used to ) after your review I just got to get in and see ( disabled still strong in upper body though) draw strength won't be an issue especially with these nuts let offs but length takes a lot of bows I like out...I really like that Elite one that's about 750 on sale right now..
      I am down for budget/mid tier bow with GOOD rest ( and Jesus that shouldn't cost 250 good lord ) and one of the new dial/micro adjust sights which are also nuts at 550....with front and rear bars...
      I dread going in so learning as much as I can before, if not your channel I'm sure I'd have out of pain and fatigue just let em push a LIFT 33 on me or Hoyt Alpha X or whatever this year's is and pissed my entire family off....
      Oh also I had a bow press didn't my own work so Innovation in what everyone can do IS mine blowing with like bowtech ect...
      Thanks again I'm sure no one will read this long post but I got a grandson I want to get interested in this now, doctors want me to do it for exercise and core strength so it is gonna happen....

    Bow technology has chased speed for a reason. To reduce yardage gap, how was the guy in the comments running a 360 grn arrow and why? 5 grns per pound is minimum why speed why speed vs weight you ask? Us older guys grew up shooting slow bows and heavy arrows but back they didn’t have range finders and Chen they came out they were not ergonomical or economical to carry. So if you misjudged 5 yds it was miss there was no internet or “content creators”. When carbon came out and we could get down to the 5grns per pound and harvest the speed of the bow it took off!!!!!! All this FOC was done to legalize big game in Africa. Here in North America 5-6 grns per pound will take any big game on the continent. The little gain in penetration with heavy arrows does not offset the yardage gap. I’m running 340grn arrows out of 60# realm I’ve blow. Threw a shoulders at 25 and had double lung pass threws at 50. This is just 35 yrs of bow hunting. RUclips is killing the spot
